00:13Good morning.
00:15Good morning.
00:16Make a little bit of noise for Joy, please.
00:23And this man, this incredible man, what would we do without him?
00:28We would not have this incredible event.
00:31We are extremely proud to welcome you this morning and to partner with the New York Times.
00:38And I want to thank Viva Tech and Publicis for being exceptional partners for this year's CMO Summit.
00:45But here, it's very special because it's about ideas.
00:51It's about innovation.
00:53It's about tech.
00:54It's about AI and, above all, it's about great people who are in this room.
01:01They are not as energetic as the people yesterday.
01:06They seem to have had a night a little bit difficult because they are not too early.
01:15Wake up.
01:16Voilà.
01:17You underestimate them.
01:21This is the Viva Tech CMO Summit, and we are more than proud to partner with the New York Times.
01:34New York Times is, what do we say, institution?
01:40No.
01:42New York Times epitomize for me journalism at its best.
01:48It's where I always find not only the news, but including the controversy that I like.
01:58Because it's not only one opinion.
02:02It's always at least two different opinions.
02:07And the great names, and Meredith should have been with us.
02:13And next year, she has to be with us.
02:15I will tell her that, I promise you.
02:17And thank you.
02:18I mean, I think the legacy that you have created with Publicis, with Viva Tech, something that we really appreciate
02:25at the New York Times.
02:25We're celebrating our 175th anniversary this year, and it's a testament.
02:31Only 10.
02:33Only 10.
02:35170.
02:36175.
02:38It's about my age.
02:41It's about my age.
02:43Yes, I'm 184.
02:46And you look good.
02:48You look good.
02:48But I think the theme of today's summit, I think we really have to appreciate the fact that the only
02:54way you thrive and survive for 175 years is by embracing change and technology and appreciating the center of everything,
03:05which is the customer.
03:06And so I think that's what you'll hear a lot about from today, from the speakers on the stage.
03:11Because New York Times was about to collapse 20 years ago, simply because the Internet has stolen all the content,
03:27and New York Times had some issues, and you have not only changed, transformed.
03:36And you have built something which is quite unique, and you are today an example on how to embrace the
03:47future without losing the roots.
03:51So it's roots and wings.
03:56I think what we really understood is that we needed to stay true to our values, so we continued to
04:02invest in journalism and the journalists, even through the toughest times.
04:06But also to invest in the product and make a product worth paying for, which has really paid off.
