00:00The following program is Rated G.
00:30Not a fan of this tile.
00:32Something has made you excited.
00:34The kitchen!
00:35Proving that the only mistake is waiting too long to do it.
00:40Well, Michelle is fed up with city life.
00:43She's spending hours in traffic,
00:44and it's really beginning to eat away at her soul.
00:47She's super creative.
00:48She's a photographer, graphic designer,
00:50and she needs to find an inspirational place to live.
00:53She's been looking online at Cape Breton houses,
00:55but come on, she really needs to see them in person.
00:57So we're going to help her ensure just how exhilarating
00:59life can be right here on the East Coast.
01:08So Michelle, we've brought you down to this incredibly beautiful beach,
01:11because we reckon this is the polar opposite
01:13of everything you're leaving behind in Hamilton.
01:15How do you feel as you walk along the sand?
01:17It's so peaceful.
01:18I can't even imagine what it's going to be like
01:21to wake up here every day.
01:23This is how we start our days in Cape Breton.
01:26I can't even imagine.
01:27How do you start your mornings normally?
01:30You get in your car.
01:32You drive for hours.
01:33You get stressed by the time you get to work.
01:36You must have had a moment where you just thought,
01:39I'm out of here.
01:40Do you remember that moment?
01:41Absolutely.
01:42You're sitting on the 403, not going anywhere.
01:44You know, an accident comes along,
01:46and two hours of your life wasted just sitting,
01:49doing nothing, when you could be spending it
01:51on a beach here like this.
01:54That's the light bulb moment.
01:55I just felt like I needed some kind of radical change in my life,
01:58because, you know, you're just grinding, grinding, grinding,
02:01every day for what?
02:02And living in a building with 3,000 people on the 13th floor,
02:06where nobody talks to each other,
02:07it was all pushing me to get out of the box.
02:10I have never been to Cape Breton before.
02:12I looked up pictures online, and I saw that the real estate prices here
02:16were something that maybe I could afford.
02:19What's the biggest and most exciting part of the adventure for you?
02:22What's the bit you're looking forward to most?
02:23Being a photographer, I just want to be able to take pictures
02:26of something beautiful every day.
02:28Amazing.
02:29Inspiration.
02:30Absolutely.
02:30It's on your doorstep everywhere you look.
02:32This frees your mind, frees your imagination.
02:34You can come down here with your gorgeous hairdo and your camera
02:37and just take a moment and capture that.
02:40I can't wait.
02:41You know, I love that you're talking about a creative environment.
02:43Cape Breton has everything for people who are creative.
02:45Great natural beauty and loads of fabulous landmarks and history.
02:49It's really inspiring.
02:51I love anything historical.
02:53Well, you'll love Justin then.
02:53You'll love Colin.
02:55Oh!
02:56You're going to love it down here, Michelle.
02:57It's purifying, cleansing.
02:59It's the realization of a dream.
03:01I can't wait to slow down and take my life back.
03:05I'm looking for a house with a lot of character,
03:07space to garden and three bedrooms,
03:09so my family and friends can come visit.
03:12$240,000 is the max of my budget.
03:14I really can't go any higher than that.
03:16Well, I hope you're ready for the Colin and Justin effect.
03:20Absolutely.
03:21Because we are on a mission and we're going to find you a home.
03:23We're going to show you three houses.
03:25I'm going to choose a house for you.
03:27After that, I'm going to show you a fantastic house
03:29that I think will be perfect for your dream to evolve in Cape Breton.
03:32And we understand that you've also found a house online
03:34that you'd like us to look at with you.
03:36That's right.
03:37I just was intrigued by some of the things that I saw in that listing
03:40and I thought, hey, that looked like something that would suit.
03:43I love that.
03:44It's exactly like your approach to Cape Breton.
03:46You saw it online and thought, no, I'm going there.
03:49It's a total voyage of discovery.
03:51It's fantastic.
03:52Let's go.
03:53Can't wait.
03:57Well, your online wonder has brought us all the way down to North Sydney.
04:02You know, they always look bigger on screen, don't they?
04:04I'm not sure that it feels quite exactly as I thought it would in this picture.
04:08Uh-oh.
04:08I'm hearing hesitation. Why?
04:10It just feels a bit close to the road
04:11and maybe people are a bit on top of you.
04:14In North Sydney, the population is about 5,000.
04:17Though it might seem a wee bit busier because this is a gateway town
04:20because people come here from the ferry to Newfoundland
04:22so there's a lot of visitors around.
04:24It's that bad little house, all things considered.
04:26It looks really well-maintained.
04:27Yeah, it looks like it's been refinished from top to bottom, I'd say.
04:31Right, okay, so what are we actually looking at here?
04:33Okay, two stories, three bedroom, one bath, 1,300 square feet.
04:38Mm-hmm.
04:38And the list price of $209,900,
04:41which is pretty much a quarter of what you'd pay in Hamilton.
04:45You could easily pay around about a million bucks for something like that.
04:47Yeah, absolutely.
04:48Amazing. Should we get in then?
04:49Shall we?
04:50Come on.
04:50See if it stacks up inside.
04:51After you.
05:00Oh, wow.
05:01This is a cute front entryway, something I was looking for.
05:04It feels a bit cramped and the ceilings are a bit low,
05:07but this room's cute.
05:09This is not a house for high heels and big hair.
05:11I'm 5'6", and I can touch the ceiling here.
05:15Yeah, you don't see that online, do you?
05:16Absolutely.
05:17Because it is much smaller.
05:18In fact, you know, see if we were to get Walter,
05:20who's actually behind the scenes in this.
05:22Where are you, Walter?
05:22Come here and stand in this doorway.
05:25Let's see, look at this.
05:26This is not a water-friendly house, okay?
05:29So, compared to condo life, how does this space work?
05:32I think it's actually pretty decent the way that it's laid out.
05:36We have a perfect amount of space here to lounge and relax
05:38and take the stress away from the day.
05:40Exactly.
05:41So, I wonder to see some more.
05:43This is cute, you know, a little dining area.
05:45Nice little area.
05:46Oh, you can see the ocean right from here.
05:48I can see myself having a coffee there in the morning.
05:51And the kitchen, what do you think?
05:52Oh, wow.
05:53This is adorable.
05:54I love the colour, lots of space.
05:57I mean, I love that they have the pot lights, but what's with the boob light?
06:00Oh, I know.
06:01The what?
06:01The boob lights.
06:04It's just quite nice having this opening to the dining room and the outside.
06:07It feels really spacious for something that is really compact.
06:10Okay, so it's not enormous up here, but there's a whole floor in the basement
06:14that you could use for extra living, storage, whatever.
06:17Fabulous.
06:18Well, should we look upstairs?
06:19Right, let's go up.
06:20Nice, huh?
06:21Want some here, then?
06:23It's not a bad room.
06:25That's the principal in there.
06:26Okay.
06:27Not a bad size.
06:29It's all right.
06:30The rooms, while small, are well maintained.
06:32You've got a great vista to the water.
06:35Absolutely.
06:35It's a lot closer than I thought, really.
06:37If you're any closer, you get your feet wet.
06:39Come on.
06:40Get a lungful of that.
06:41Breathe it in.
06:46This is crazy.
06:47This is your view.
06:49Wow.
06:49This is your backyard.
06:50Stunning view.
06:51I can't believe it.
06:53It actually is as close as what we thought.
06:55But I feel like this road is a bit busy, and this might be a bit loud and noisy for
07:00me.
07:00So your online date, did it deliver what it promised on screen?
07:04Maybe a bit of catfishing.
07:06Oh, maybe.
07:07Good news is there's plenty more fish in the sea.
07:09And we've got two more houses to explore, and we can go and enjoy a bit more of Cape Breton.
07:13Can't wait to see that.
07:18So, Michelle, we know you're a real history buff, so we've brought you down to the Chapel Point Battery.
07:23Now, this protectorate is a fascinating subject.
07:26It was used significantly at the start of the Second World War,
07:29and it allowed everybody to see precisely what was going on as invasion came towards them.
07:34You know, it's a great part of this area's history, and it's something that the locals really want to preserve,
07:39and they want to share with future visitors.
07:40And so how does this place operate?
07:42So it gets a little bit of government funding, but the rest of it is done on a volunteer basis.
07:46The community have galvanized and come together to make this a real asset.
07:49You're so incredibly creative with brilliant photographic skills.
07:53Something like that could be a great asset to these guys.
07:55Well, this seems like an amazing opportunity to meet people in the community, make some friends, use my skills.
08:01This could be a match made in heaven.
08:02Can you believe it? Built to look like a church.
08:05So if you imagine the enemy were coming into the harbour, then they wouldn't think that this was a target,
08:10but it actually was concealing this huge gun.
08:13Look at that. Isn't that incredible?
08:15Goodness.
08:16Can you imagine it there?
08:17Oh, hold on.
08:18Take your opportunity, Colin, please.
08:19Make it really natural.
08:21Gorgeous.
08:22Good thing I bought my off-roading shoes today.
08:24Indeed. Up you go first.
08:26Think of the size of the gun that would have been here.
08:29I really can't even imagine.
08:30It's so beautiful.
08:31I just, I love all of the texture.
08:33I'm very much a details person.
08:34And so my eye is drawn to, you know, the rust and just the cracks in the concrete.
08:40And I think it would be an awesome opportunity to get a photo of you if you just hop up
08:44there.
08:44We can get your shadows on that amazing texture.
08:46Okay, here we go.
08:48Strike a pose.
08:49Naturals you are.
08:51Colin, bring your chin up just a bit.
08:52Which one?
08:53Rude.
08:54Rude.
08:55Love it.
08:56That's fabulous.
08:57Let's go and check out the chapel.
08:59Come on.
08:59Were you praying for forgiveness?
09:01It's time to take you to new heights.
09:03Rude, let's get you to the very top.
09:05Have a look at that.
09:06Oh, my goodness.
09:08That is incredible.
09:12Well, you know what?
09:12We're probably at the highest point in this entire area.
09:15But hopefully we've not peaked too soon because we've got houses to show you.
09:18Let's go.
09:26I've got to say I'm just so excited to bring you down here because I think this is an incredible,
09:31incredible home.
09:32Wow, it looks great.
09:33I love the gardens here and the front porch is fantastic.
09:37It looks amazing.
09:37I see what you're trying to do.
09:39Okay.
09:39You're trying to seduce this woman with color.
09:41I'm trying to color you happy.
09:43I'm so excited for you to see it.
09:45Certainly mine's a great community.
09:46Everybody down here is super friendly.
09:48You're going to fit in like a glove.
09:49It's a really creative enclave.
09:51So lots and lots to love.
09:52Excellent.
09:52I can't wait to see what you got.
09:54Okay.
09:54Well, two and a half stories.
09:56Okay.
09:57Three bedrooms.
09:58One and a half bathrooms.
10:00A shade over 1,400 square feet.
10:02A great backyard for you to fun in.
10:04And that all important ticket price.
10:06Are you ready?
10:07Okay.
10:08We are topping you.
10:09It's $240,000.
10:11Oh, that's right at the top of my budget.
10:14Yeah.
10:14Ouch.
10:15But it's got you written all over it.
10:17Okay.
10:17I'll trust you.
10:18Yeah.
10:18After you.
10:19Go inside.
10:27Here we go.
10:29Yeah.
10:29This is great.
10:30An entryway.
10:31This is exactly something that I was looking for.
10:33You are officially entering your blue period.
10:36It's fun, isn't it?
10:37It is.
10:38You know, I appreciate color, as you can tell by my hair.
10:41Have a little wandering, Michelle.
10:43Oh.
10:44This is lovely.
10:45Great floor.
10:46Nice original period features.
10:48The windows are great.
10:49Lots of natural light in here.
10:51It feels nice and open to the next space as well.
10:53So if I was having a party, then, you know, friends could be hanging in here and friends
10:57could be hanging in here.
10:58I mean, this room is not being done any favors at all by this huge sectional.
11:02Look, it's blocking the doorway.
11:04There's no free passage in here.
11:05If this was smaller, you'd room for a coffee table.
11:08This would feel like a proper living room.
11:10I think he's got a good point there.
11:11I mean, he does have a point.
11:12But on the other hand, I would say it's all about atmosphere and feeling cozy.
11:16So it's not necessarily about trying to make it feel bigger, but trying to set the atmosphere
11:20that makes you feel happy.
11:21I love this.
11:21I really love it.
11:23Anyway, I want to get you in here now, color-wise.
11:25Ah, excellent.
11:26Whoa.
11:26Now, this speaks to me.
11:28It does.
11:29It does.
11:30You know, I like to get my greens at dinner.
11:32I'll give you that.
11:33But you wouldn't be able to find the peas in here.
11:35Where's the lettuce?
11:36Colin.
11:36Color is so personal, though.
11:38It is.
11:39Does it work for you?
11:40It does.
11:40I'm sorry about that, Colin.
11:42I want to see some more.
11:42Do you want to see the kitchen?
11:43I do.
11:43Come on.
11:44Please no more green.
11:45This is where the color stops.
11:46Very nice size.
11:48Awesome.
11:50I love this island.
11:51It looks like it has a lot of cabinet space.
11:53It does.
11:54Now, Colin raised an interesting point.
11:56He said the color was overpowering in there, and I said it's only paint.
11:58You can change it.
12:00Similarly, in this neutral kitchen, some satin paint, some rollers, and four hours of your
12:05time, you can completely re-identify this space.
12:08What I would say is be inspired by the tomato.
12:12Maybe use accessories to bring color in.
12:14You can have a neutral space and still get a kick of color without it being too dominant.
12:18Hmm?
12:19Come on, Michelle.
12:20It's Make Me Smile style.
12:21You are a walking kaleidoscope.
12:23You're a living, breathing rainbow.
12:25And that's why I think this place is suitable.
12:27Okay.
12:28Well, let's see more.
12:29All righty.
12:30Bathroom in there.
12:31Have a peek.
12:32Okay.
12:33Oh.
12:34That is quite cramped.
12:36It's not the biggest, but it's serviceable.
12:39Yeah.
12:39It does what you need it to do, I guess.
12:42Another wee bedroom here.
12:44Oh.
12:44Okay.
12:45Uh, it's a good size.
12:47But what happened to the floor?
12:49Okay.
12:49So this room is a work in progress.
12:51I actually think that's quite a good thing for you because everything else is kind of walk-in ready, I
12:55think, to an extent.
12:56You could really stamp your own identity in this space.
12:59Okay.
13:00Is this the principal bedroom?
13:01It is.
13:01Okay.
13:02Excellent.
13:02Oh.
13:03Oh.
13:04This is charming.
13:06Huh?
13:07It's romantic, isn't it?
13:08Actually, I love the colour in here.
13:10Well, I think this is a great space.
13:12I love the windows.
13:13It's a decent size.
13:15That closet looks like it could be a bit small.
13:17Well, maybe it's a bit bigger inside.
13:19Oh, maybe not.
13:20Oh, my God.
13:21Hold on.
13:22Mr. Wiggy's wig world.
13:23Hold on a second.
13:24Somebody here clearly likes a bit of dress up.
13:26What do you think?
13:27Oh.
13:27It is so you.
13:28You look very Scottish.
13:30Very ginger.
13:31I'm more of a natural blonde.
13:33Remember you were a blonde back in the day?
13:35What do you think?
13:36Gorgeous.
13:36Try one on.
13:37Would I be good as a blonde, do you think?
13:39You suit that.
13:40That looks really good on you.
13:42Not you.
13:43You look crazy.
13:44Colin, you look crazy.
13:45You look like you look the clown out of it.
13:47If you don't mind without further ado,
13:48I'm going to go back in here
13:49because at one point in my life,
13:50I was so far back in the closet,
13:51I might as well have been in Narnia.
13:53I'll see you later.
13:54I love that.
13:55Justin shows you your property
13:56and it really is hair-raising.
13:58I mean, this is such a great home
14:00and you haven't even seen the garden.
14:01Oh, all right.
14:02Ready, ho?
14:03You've seen it inside.
14:05Check this out.
14:06Wow.
14:08This is a fantastic deck.
14:10I love it.
14:11Do you know what I like best about this?
14:12The fact that there are no boundaries
14:13or little fences or walls,
14:15it really builds that sense of community
14:17and it looks like a little mini park.
14:19It doesn't have immediate proximity to the ocean,
14:21but it's not far.
14:22Exactly.
14:23And where I'm living now,
14:24there's no access.
14:25So what don't you like?
14:27Well, that bathroom.
14:28It's very tight.
14:29And the room next door with no floor.
14:31And being at the top of my budget,
14:33I don't see a lot of wiggle room.
14:34It is at the top of your budget,
14:35but so much potential.
14:37Fair points.
14:38Fair points.
14:38I do think I'd love to see another property.
14:40But before that,
14:41we've got a little slice of heaven
14:42here in Cape Breton to enjoy.
14:43Come on.
14:49Wow.
14:50This place is beautiful.
14:51Isn't it?
14:52So inspiring.
14:53This is Lewisburg.
14:54This is where we live.
14:55This is our backyard, you know,
14:57and we're just so, so fortunate.
14:58And that's the Lewisburg Lighthouse.
15:00And this is where we come to decompress.
15:03Honestly, we come here
15:04and we let the breezes just blow away
15:06all of our worries.
15:08And we just look at all this
15:10incredible topography
15:11and just drink it in.
15:12It's so gorgeous.
15:13The crashing waves
15:15and the clouds today are fantastic.
15:17It's really amazing.
15:18So this was the first place
15:19that we visited
15:19when we came to Lewisburg.
15:20I'll never forget
15:21how scared
15:22at the whole new adventure
15:24that lay ahead
15:24but exhilarated
15:25at the same time I felt.
15:27This was my beacon of hope.
15:28And I think it can be yours as well.
15:30It's also such a great place
15:31for you to take photographs.
15:32You're a real creative.
15:33You could get some
15:33brilliant shots of that.
15:34That's amazing.
15:35I think we should go do some now.
15:36We should.
15:38I want to look rugged
15:39and windswept and interesting.
15:41Oh, absolutely.
15:41I want to look like Beyonce
15:42being windblown.
15:44OK, gents, are you ready?
15:45You look fantastic.
15:47Colin, fix your shirt a bit
15:48if you can.
15:49Wait a minute.
15:50I like that I'm billowing, though.
15:51There you are.
15:52OK, billowing.
15:52I want to billow.
15:53We'll work with the billowing.
15:55If you look really gusty.
15:57Looking good.
15:58Strike a pose, Justin.
16:00I love it.
16:02OK, how about right about there?
16:03Oh, wow.
16:04I love this.
16:05I love it.
16:07Can I join you up there?
16:08Yeah, please.
16:09Now, Michelle, do you feel
16:10in any way nervous
16:11about this change of life?
16:14Not with you guys by my side.
16:16Well, we're here.
16:16We're guides to this.
16:17We've done this.
16:18This feels so familiar.
16:20And as I look at you,
16:21I just feel so, so much for you
16:23and how you can make this your dream.
16:25Well, I feel like the universe
16:27has brought me here
16:28to be with you guys.
16:29I just, I'm so thankful
16:30for your help in this journey.
16:32This isn't you, Michelle.
16:33This is Michelle Mark II.
16:35Yes.
16:362.0.
16:362.0.
16:37Well, Michelle, we found you
16:38a lighthouse.
16:39Now we need to find you
16:41the right house.
16:42Brilliant.
16:43Come on.
16:43Let's do it.
16:48Now, Michelle, this is my pick.
16:51What are your first impressions?
16:52I could see myself sitting up there
16:54having a tea or coffee
16:55in the morning.
16:56OK.
16:56Yeah, that's nice.
16:57You know, I think this house
16:58looks really welcoming
16:59from the outside.
17:00We've got three bedrooms here,
17:01one and a half bathrooms,
17:031,400 square feet.
17:04There's a huge yard at the side.
17:06Price of this house, $220,000.
17:09That sounds great to me.
17:11So Glace Bay is really famous
17:12for being super, super friendly.
17:13You're coming from the other
17:14end of the country.
17:15You're going to find
17:16a real sense of community here.
17:18But I think the key word is potential.
17:21It's been on the market
17:22for some time, OK?
17:23So just keep an open mind
17:24and think, bargain.
17:26If nothing, I have an open mind.
17:28Well, I hope you're going
17:29to need it today, love.
17:33Here we go.
17:34Guard your loins, love.
17:40In you go.
17:42Oh, wow.
17:45There's a lot of wood in here.
17:46Good-sized hallway.
17:47You know, it's a 1940s property.
17:49So you're going to enjoy
17:50really good ceiling heights.
17:52Excellent.
17:52First impressions.
17:55It's a bit woody.
17:56Raises eyebrows.
17:57Raises eyebrows.
17:59Avoids the joke.
18:01Let's go in here.
18:03Oh, wow.
18:04Look at this room.
18:05Is this a wood stove and a fireplace?
18:08Yes, a wood stove and a fireplace.
18:09And also curtains
18:10that look like an old drag queen
18:11from the 1940s.
18:13Let's not let all of that
18:14get in the way of this room, OK?
18:16It's got a bay window.
18:17It's bang on in the centre.
18:18Nice and symmetrical.
18:19You know, the natural light is good.
18:21I do find the two fireplaces
18:22to be a little bit confusing.
18:25So I think you'd have to make a decision
18:26of one or t'other.
18:28Have you got anything to add to this room?
18:30Um...
18:31I'm glad that there's a door
18:32through which I can exit.
18:33So rude.
18:37Oh, excellent.
18:38Wow.
18:38This is...
18:39This space is massive.
18:40It is.
18:41Now, there's a big issue
18:42with this room that's a problem for me.
18:44So behind here,
18:45what seems to be a lovely benefit
18:46of the laundry
18:47is actually great.
18:48But then when you look down that way,
18:50there's a toilet right beside you
18:52on these swinging doors.
18:53So imagine you've had
18:54a romantic dinner party.
18:55Maybe it was a curry.
18:56Somebody pops in,
18:57you say, excuse me,
18:59just to be rough,
18:59and you're like, brr!
19:00Bombs a ways.
19:01And then all the odours
19:02coming in Reno.
19:03Yeah.
19:04OK, there's been some
19:06questionable renovations
19:06that happened in this house,
19:08but it's reflected in the price.
19:09And come on,
19:10look at the size of that kitchen.
19:11You could easily get
19:12an island in there.
19:13If you're into cooking,
19:14this could be
19:14of you loads of space.
19:16There's certainly
19:16a lot of cupboards in here.
19:18There's a lot of cabinets,
19:19farmhouse style.
19:20So you could actually
19:21use these to rejig it,
19:23paint it all down as well,
19:24and make it your own.
19:25I think in this space,
19:26I would want to make
19:27the flooring all the same.
19:29This backsplash here
19:30has got to go
19:31maybe paint the cupboards.
19:32That sounds like
19:33a lot of work though to me.
19:34It does, isn't it?
19:35Do you feel at this stage
19:36if this could be a contender?
19:37Well, you know,
19:38this space is way bigger
19:39than the last two houses
19:40that we saw.
19:41Yeah, exactly.
19:41Look at those ceiling heights.
19:42See, 1940s.
19:43Look, put your hands up.
19:44This is way taller
19:45than the last two houses.
19:47And up this way
19:48to the primary bedroom.
19:53OK.
19:53No.
19:54No.
19:55No?
19:55I can't handle this angle.
19:57Growing up in my childhood home,
19:59I had ceilings like this,
20:00and I...
20:01No.
20:01That's interesting.
20:02No swapping.
20:03For me, these are called
20:04coombe ceilings in Scotland,
20:05and I actually really like that.
20:07Mm.
20:07It feels really homely for me.
20:08I just think of
20:09hitting my head on it.
20:11You know,
20:12a personal opinion is everything.
20:13There's three bedrooms up here,
20:15so you actually could make a decision
20:16to go to one of the smaller rooms,
20:18and then maybe this could be
20:19an upstairs office,
20:20a dressing room.
20:22There's real flexibility in here.
20:23And it is a good amount of space.
20:25Well, you've got an awful lot to think about.
20:28So many considerations
20:29before you make up your mind,
20:30but it's time to deliberate
20:31and eventually make your choice.
20:33I feel like I've made up my mind.
20:35Already?
20:35Now?
20:36Yes.
20:36You literally know right now.
20:38I do.
20:38I feel it in my heart.
20:39Just give it to me straight.
20:40Hits and misses about this property.
20:43Well, you know,
20:43I like the light.
20:45It's a great amount of space.
20:46I just see the dollar signs adding up
20:48with all of the renovations that I see
20:50with all the details here,
20:51and the spaces are a bit awkward.
20:53We have covered so much ground, haven't we?
20:55You know, when you think about that first house,
20:57your online date,
20:59really close to the ocean.
21:00But very close to the road as well.
21:03100%.
21:03Low ceilings,
21:05really, really small rooms.
21:06Although there was good flow in the price point.
21:09And then there was my pick over in Sydney Mines.
21:12That house had all the colour you need
21:13by the bucket load.
21:15Absolutely.
21:16That just lit up my heart.
21:17You didn't like the bathroom
21:18and it was at the top of your budget
21:19at $240,000,
21:21so there's a lot to consider there.
21:23Yeah.
21:23And there's still that one room
21:24that I would have to do
21:25that didn't have the floor.
21:26Yeah, exactly.
21:27Oh, well, come on then.
21:29Break it to me gently.
21:30Which house are you going to go for?
21:34Justin's pick, the Sydney Mines house.
21:36I think you made some interesting choices
21:38of this property, Colin,
21:39but clearly I'm so pleased
21:41that you made the right decision.
21:42What was it precisely about my choice
21:45that made you realise it was the winner?
21:46Well, the backyard is amazing for the gardening
21:48that I want to do and the colours.
21:50I mean, come on.
21:51It just is me to a tee.
21:53So there's not a lot of work that I have to do there.
21:55I should have known one look at you
21:57that colour would prevail.
21:58Thank you so much, both of you, for helping me.
22:01But particularly you.
22:06I've moved in and I feel like I was always meant to be here.
22:10This island is fantastic.
22:12I have driven absolutely everywhere.
22:14It's just everything I ever dreamed it would be.
22:17I love Sydney Mines.
22:19Life here is fantastic.
22:21I made a great group of friends, one even from Ontario.
22:24What a small world.
22:26Good news.
22:27Michelle got her house asking.
22:28And when she's not gardening,
22:30she's working in the local creative community.
22:32And more than that,
22:33she continues to tell great stories through her camera lens
22:36and she's never felt more at home.
22:38I tell anybody who wants to move to a small town
22:41to go ahead and do it.
22:42People here are so welcoming and friendly
22:44and they will open their arms to you.
