UP Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Husband with Lover After Sedative-Laced Kheer

A shocking murder case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, where a woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband with the help of her lover after serving him kheer mixed with sedatives.

According to police, the victim, 34-year-old farmer Sachin Dagar of Naurozpur Gurjar village in the Baraut area, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Saturday morning.

Initially, his wife, Rachna, told neighbours that Sachin's health had suddenly deteriorated and that he died after being taken to a hospital.

However, marks found on the victim's neck raised suspicions among family members and neighbours, prompting a police investigation.

During the probe, officers examined CCTV footage from the area, which allegedly showed a man entering the house at around 10:27 pm on Friday and leaving at approximately 3:27 am on Saturday.

A post-mortem conducted by a panel of two doctors reportedly concluded that the cause of death was strangulation and indicated that the body had been dragged.

Baghpat Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai said that during interrogation, Rachna allegedly confessed to her involvement in the crime and was subsequently arrested.

Police identified her alleged accomplice as Sonu, a resident of Ranchad village, whom Rachna reportedly met through Instagram. According to investigators, the two later developed a relationship, which Sachin had come to know about and opposed.

Police alleged that Rachna mixed five to six sedative tablets into kheer and served it to her husband. After he lost consciousness, she and Sonu allegedly strangled him to death.

While Rachna has been taken into custody, Sonu remains absconding. Police have formed multiple teams to trace and arrest him.

Further legal proceedings and investigation are underway.
