A traffic police official allegedly slapped a commuter during a drunk driving test in Hyderabad's Gachibowli area under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.

The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, June 6, during a routine breathalyser check.

According to the viral video, the commuter repeatedly held the breathalyser with his teeth instead of blowing into it. Two police officials can be seen instructing him on how to use the device.

"Just breathe into the machine, don't hold it," one officer is heard telling the commuter.

When the man again held the breathalyser with his teeth, another official asked him to repeat the test, saying, "You don't need to bite it, just breathe into it. Do you understand Telugu?"

However, after the commuter allegedly repeated the same mistake, the official slapped him across the face.

Moments later, another police constable approached the officers and can be heard saying, "Don't slap him, this is getting recorded."

The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread reactions and debate over the conduct of the police personnel during the enforcement drive.

No official statement regarding the incident had been reported at the time of writing.
