00:02Turning rather cold across the north tonight under clear skies, we'll likely see a patchy
00:07frost.
00:07Bad news for any gardeners or growers.
00:09We'll also see some spells of rain and showers through the course of the evening as this
00:13band sinks its way southwards, but any rain largely easing away, but it does bring in plenty
00:18of cloud across central and southern England, parts of Wales as well, but that should stop
00:22temperatures dropping too low.
00:24Also a fairly brisk breeze starting to develop across southern coast that will also aid the
00:28temperatures from dropping too low, but across Scotland, northern parts of England and Northern
00:33Ireland it is going to be a cold night on offer.
00:36Most towns and cities dropping to around the mid to low single figures, and some rural spots
00:40in Scotland could possibly even drop to around minus 4 to minus 5 degrees Celsius, so a rather
00:45cold night to come here.
00:47But across central areas, parts of the south, most towns and cities only dropping to around
00:51the high single figures, so a slightly milder start here.
00:54Any cloud eventually will ease away through the course of the morning, and it will be thick
00:59enough to produce some showers, if not longer spells of rain across south east England, and
01:04this may push slightly further north into the afternoon, perhaps into the London area, one
01:09to keep an eye on into tomorrow.
01:11But actually for most it will be a dry, settled afternoon, plenty of sunny spells, though we
01:15will eventually start to see some rain push southwards across parts of Scotland.
01:19This could actually turn quite heavy across the Northern Isles.
01:21But the difference into tomorrow is the temperatures.
01:24It's actually going to feel much chillier for many areas.
01:27Across northern areas, central parts of England, we could drop down to between 10 to 13 degrees
01:32Celsius, a little milder across the south, but if you compare it to this afternoon, it's
01:37going to feel that bit chillier.
01:39Some areas across parts of the south east, we could see a good 5 degrees difference here,
01:43but with less cloud across the north, some temperatures slightly improved across eastern
01:47parts of Scotland, north east England.
01:50Nevertheless, it's going to be a chillier day to come, and quite a cold night on offer.
01:54This time across many areas of central and southern England, we'll see more in the way
01:59of clear skies, so temperatures dipping away here, a patchy frost in places.
02:03Where we do see any clouds, some spells of rain, which will sink their way southwards through
02:07the course of the night.
02:08This is where temperatures will hold up, but there will be some spells of rain, and it could
02:11turn a little bit heavy at times.
02:13And as it falls into that colder air across Scotland, we may even see a sprinkling of sleet and snow
02:17across high ground.
02:19And as this clears areas of Scotland, once again, some clearer skies here, so temperatures
02:23dipping away once again.
02:24Probably not turning quite as cold as the night previous, but nevertheless, it's going to be
02:28a fairly chilly start for many into the new working week.
02:31A little unsettled at times as well, this rain band will continue to sink its way southwards,
02:36and we could see some showers.
02:38These are a little heavy, but once this clears through, there will be plenty of sunshine to finish
02:42off the afternoon, still feeling rather chilly, and there's a fairly brisk northerly wind across
02:47any eastern coast that will add on to the chill.
02:50Once again, feeling fairly cool for many areas, but across the far south, highs still holding
02:54on to around 16 to 17 degrees Celsius, so slightly warmer here.
02:59But as we progress into next week, the cooler theme does continue.
03:03We've got high pressure out to the west.
03:04This intensifies a northerly flow across the country, so we're constantly feeding in some
03:09colder air from the north, not only this, but also some rain and showers at times.
03:14So a little bit unsettled with some rain in the forecast, largely feeling cooler.
