00:00Hello there, welcome to your evening forecast from the Met Office.
00:04Now we're seeing some rain across more central and eastern areas of England and Wales pushing
00:08ever westwards as we head through tonight and into tomorrow and then things will brighten
00:13up.
00:13At the same time it could push northwards across eastern Scotland but notice the weather
00:18fronts are moving in from the west as well as one towards more eastern areas there will
00:22be a slice of sunshine in between.
00:25Now this rain towards the southeast has been thundery today with hail.
00:30Notice it's blossoming as it extends westwards so some heavier pulses into the early hours
00:35of tomorrow morning, an arc extending towards northern England as well as Wales and the
00:40west country.
00:40A few showy bursts further south and southeast but some drier interludes coming through as
00:45well.
00:46Where you see this rain the winds could pick up particularly across eastern parts of England
00:50and we'll see clearer skies elsewhere so a different story for Scotland, Northern Ireland and far
00:55north of England.
00:56A widespread frost here even some mist and fog patches milder towards the northwest of Scotland
01:01where you'll see a brisk breeze, cloud and some patchy drizzle.
01:05Into tomorrow morning then it's a cold start across the north with some sunshine.
01:08Watch out for one or two mist and fog patches further south.
01:12This rain continues to push westwards turning sherry towards the southwest, clearer skies coming
01:18through with some sunshine as this area of sherry rain nudges northwards towards border regions,
01:24Northumberland, eastern counties of England seeing a little bit of sherry rain and it could develop
01:29also across Angus and Aberdeenshire.
01:32Brighter skies remain across the north and the west of Scotland, a pleasant day here at Northern
01:37Ireland seeing some bright weather and also some dry conditions.
01:41Temperatures then probably in the north 12 to 14, further south 15 to 16 celsius a degree
01:47higher than today.
01:49Now through Monday evening a few things happen, first of all there will be more on the way
01:54of clouds.
01:55We could see some clearer skies again in Northern Ireland, Western Scotland.
01:58We'll see some rain developing as well central and eastern areas and some showers across Irish
02:02sea coasts.
02:03The breeze also will keep temperatures slightly higher than the last few nights.
02:07Lowest temperatures will be towards the west under clearer skies, probably mid-single figures.
02:11But there will be some rain to start the day on Tuesday.
02:14Outbreaks of rain across much of England pushing up across central and eastern areas of Scotland.
02:18It could become persistent later and this rain attempting to push in from the west through
02:22the afternoon as the winds pick up.
02:24So thickening clouds for Northern Ireland after a bright start.
02:27Western Scotland perhaps having some sunshine and that window of sunshine extending south
02:32across the Isle of Man, central and western parts of Wales as well as the west country.
02:37Temperatures then through Tuesday again struggling a little bit, 12, 14, 15 degrees celsius.
02:43Let me take you through the bigger picture though as we head through Tuesday and into Wednesday.
02:47Slow moving weather fronts affecting many parts of the UK.
02:51We could have a slight ridge towards Northern Ireland, that's where we'll see some brighter
02:55breaks, perhaps some showers across the eastern side of the province.
02:58But elsewhere, more cloud, the rain comes and goes and temperatures again probably only
03:0210 to 14 celsius.
03:04Wherever you are, have a good start to the week and I'll see you again soon.
03:07See you again.
