00:00The WWE Raw came from Paris, France last night, and good grief, they love Obafemi.
00:05That's absolutely a good thing.
00:06Now, as we have talked about, I don't think Oba should have lost two Brock Lesnar in Clash
00:09in Italy, but just go and watch this show.
00:12Nobody gives a damn, because Obafemi came to the ring, and this place went nuts.
00:16Also, hello, my friends, and one of the ups and downs, the only wrestling review show
00:19you need, with I, it's Iron Miller, the bald a-hole, the professional wrestling content
00:22creator and professional wrestler.
00:24I had a match with Progress Wrestling this weekend, so make sure you check it out at
00:27HookedOnWrestling.tv, but more importantly, and that rhymes so it must be true, I did
00:32watch Raw, and for some reason, if you've watched this video, you give a damn about my thoughts.
00:37I'll give you a hug, let's go.
00:38I'm amazed that WWE took this long until Obafemi just saying this line as well, because he got
00:42a microphone and said, ha ha, I am in the king of the ring, which means if I win, I
00:46get a
00:47crown, and of course, I'm the ruler, and therefore, I need a crown.
00:50He then started talking about Brock Lesnar and said, man, you're nothing but a cheat.
00:53At Clash in Italy, you dropped me at the bell, you threw me through Adam the announce table,
00:56so you ain't nothing but a big bad bitch, which means it's super serious now, because
01:01look, we are one-on-one, but ever since you did defeat me, you ran away.
01:05So of course, something is going to happen here, and if I were going to hazard, I guess,
01:08I would guess that Brock Lesnar will cost Obafemi the king of the ring, but we'll get to that
01:12when we get to it, because man, Dominic Mysterio interrupted here, and this is like going back
01:1618 months.
01:17Dominic was so flippin' hated.
01:19He was talking about the fact that Obafemi is a rookie, because when it comes to Dominic
01:23Mysterio, he's a 20-year veteran.
01:24And in this moment, I was a bit like, why did we stop doing this kind of stuff with
01:28the condom?
01:28He's so good at it, so let's try and get it back now.
01:32And also, it got me so damn pumped.
01:34Next week, it's Obafemi versus Dominic Mysterio, and not in my wildest dreams did I ever think
01:39I'd get that match.
01:39He also said that he deserves the crown because he's the king of the luchadors, and I'm
01:43also pretty sure he told Obafemi to bend a knee and respect the tash, and he did that
01:47on a t-shirt yesterday.
01:48When, of course, JD McDonough, that stupid McDonough, he hit Obafemi with a chair.
01:52He no-sold it, and even though the Dom Dom tried to attack Oba, he then got wrecked
01:57again, as Obafemi just stood there and Aurafemi, but I tell you, he should do this till the
02:01cows come home, because dat man got to Aurra.
02:03He also grabbed the microphone one last time and said, Dominic, we all know that Rey Mysterio
02:07is your father, but next week, I'm going to be your daddy.
02:10Let's face it, that did sound very sexual, but this is the power of Oba.
02:14It also sounded like he was going to kill him.
02:16This was excellent.
02:16Like, it was a proper awesome opening to Raw.
02:18Well, once again, in no world did I ever think that Oba and Dominic Mysterio would kick off
02:22a show, and really, I think that was the theme that ran through last night's episode of Raw.
02:26There were just so many different things, so I had a great old time.
02:29It is going to give it an up, and look, if Brock Lesnar interferes and Dominic Mysterio
02:34beats Obafemi, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
02:37I may have a meltdown, but if WWE can stick the landing, I don't think I'll be as mad about
02:42it as I would have been otherwise, mostly because, again, Obafemi is just so over.
02:46But it's wonderful.
02:48Seth Rollins then flubbed up because he was doing a big promo, given that he was in his
02:51King of the Ring qualifier later.
02:52He said, absolutely, I'm done with the Vision.
02:55I don't want to mess with the Vision anymore.
02:57And I was like, Seth, you're definitely going to lose later because of the Vision.
03:01However, he wasn't able to sort of muck around with that too, because he also said, when
03:04I do win KOTR, I shall take on Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
03:08And let's not forget, every time we do get together, it's a super-duper-whooper match, and
03:11he's never beaten me properly.
03:12So, yeah, if you did want to suspend your disbelief and think that Seth Rollins was going to be
03:16the King, well, I thought he did a very good job.
03:19We then got another Queen of the Ring qualifier, and yes, it was Alexa Bliss, taking on Becky
03:23Lynch, taking on Chelsea Green, taking on Liv Morgan, which, again, felt like it had come
03:27out of nowhere in the best possible way.
03:28And let's not forget, somebody out there was watching WWL for the first time, and they
03:34got told, well, let's not forget, friends, if Liv Morgan does indeed win this match, she
03:39will face Liv Morgan at SummerSlam.
03:40Then they probably melted down and worried they were having a stroke.
03:43And yes, that's what we did chat about as well.
03:45I still think WWE doing these four ways was a little bit of a cop-out, but when it does
03:49come to multi-person matches, they are very good at throwing them together, because you
03:53could just sit back and enjoy this.
03:54It was proper, you go, I go, we all go.
03:57It was totally nuts.
03:58But once again, this is going to be my catchphrase on this episode, I had a very good time.
04:03Becky and Bliss got into it at 1.2, and it feels like it's been ages since they've
04:06done anything together.
04:07When Liv Morgan was sneaking in there, and she was doing a bunch of the Three Amigos,
04:11when essentially we got to the finish, and it was like, should we all hit our finishers,
04:14and then I'll sneak in, and we'll also hit our finishers, when eventually somebody hits
04:18the most devastating move.
04:19In all of sports entertainment, the surprise roll-up, because we all hit too many finishers,
04:23and everybody just went thumbs.
04:25And yes, it all ended with Chelsea Green getting the unprettier, which I thought was a very
04:28good idea, because she was so over, as she always is, when Liv was like, well, I really
04:32would like to win this match, because I do want to take on Dark Liv when we get to hot
04:36Wrestlemania.
04:37So she hit that damn maneuver, and she got the 1, 2, 3.
04:40She was so damn happy with herself.
04:42So even this is totally done.
04:44The match was good, and now I'm starting to think you could probably tease that it's
04:47going to be Raquel Rodriguez versus Liv Morgan, which it could be in the bracket, but at the
04:51same time, I think it would probably be Eoskai versus Liv Morgan, when we do get to
04:55SummerSlam.
04:56But look, we've moved past the fact that Liv Morgan entered the tournament to begin with.
05:00I still agree that WWE does not follow up these championship wins very well, because
05:04we did the same thing with Jay Cargill on SmackDown, but again, this is all past stuff.
05:08In terms of sitting down and watching this episode of Raw, I am giving it an up.
05:12I thought it was a good match, and there is something ridiculous about Liv winning, and
05:15you know me, goofy wrestling for life.
05:17Chad Gable then went to say sorry to Penta, because of course he said sorry to Phoenix on
05:21SmackDown, and man, he got an amazing pop, and he too was going to have a good evening,
05:25but he has to keep doing Professor Leighton puzzles, because Penta was all like, listen,
05:29man, I understand, but don't forget there's more people you've got to apologise to.
05:32So later on, Chad Gable found Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio and said, I'm so sorry, listen,
05:36well, we forgive you, but don't forget there's more people you have to apologise to.
05:40It's like a flipping side quest in an RPG.
05:43It's like, can you deliver the letter to Jane?
05:45And then Jane said, thanks for the letter, but I need a stamp.
05:47They didn't have to get a stamp.
05:48Then you have to find the postman, and eventually the letter gets to Jeff.
05:51The point is, I would have to hazard a guess.
05:53He will apologise to Otis and Tozawa, as he should do, if he wasn't very nice to them.
05:58And probably Maxime Dupree as well, but I think she's already turned to the dark side.
06:02Ethan Page then cut a quick promo, because he's been so damn good, he feels like he should
06:05be in a match tonight.
06:06When we learn that Saturday Night's main event is dead, because now we're getting Sunday
06:10Night's main event, and I tell you, that does not roll off the tongue the same.
06:13I also think it's because Money in the Bank got moved to October, so what the hell is happening
06:17with all of these dates?
06:18We did go back to Seth Rollins, and he was talking to Montez Ford, saying, Montez Ford,
06:22thank you so much for being my guy.
06:23So now they're all buddy-buddy, and I don't trust it.
06:26This is when the Usos walked in as well, with sad Jacob for two.
06:29And man, I cannot handle sad Jacob for two, because Jimmy and Jey Uso just went off here,
06:35and Seth Rollins turned into the dad, saying, I'm not upset with you.
06:37I am just disappointed, and the whole time Jacob was just like, man, I don't want to
06:42be here.
06:42I can't believe it.
06:43I just wanted to be a crazy man, and now I've got to be an absolute goof.
06:46To be fair to Seth Rollins as well, he was totally right in what he said to the Usos.
06:49He was like, this isn't about your family.
06:50I just don't like Roman Reigns, and the fact you just went back to him is so damn boring.
06:55Yep, the whole time, Jacob was just like, man, maybe I'll go home and play Nintendo.
07:00I'm really hungry right now.
07:02Also, Roman Reigns was even on this show, so why didn't he tell the Usos to flab off?
07:05Well, he did do eventually, but he doesn't have to listen to them.
07:09I mean, I'm going to wait and see, but I think we probably should have kept Jacob as a crazy
07:12guy.
07:13Bayley was at all high because it was going to be Lyra Valkyria versus Sol Ruka for the
07:16Intercontinental title, and I like this as well.
07:19And sure, some bits were a bit wibbly-wobbly, but I don't want every single match to be as
07:22clean as my bald head.
07:24That would be boring.
07:25Sometimes it should resemble a fight.
07:27I just thought they had very good chemistry.
07:29Now, it's still ridiculous that Lyra Valkyria just went, oh, hi, I would like an IC title
07:33shot, and she got one one week later.
07:35But I actually think this was a massive net positive to Sol Ruka because right now she just needs
07:39good matches against very good professional wrestlers, that's exactly what we did.
07:43Valkyria also got the Boston Crab at one point, which was very interesting because she's not
07:47from Boston.
07:48When she went, haha, going to pretend to be Sol Ruka, well, quite rightly, Sol hit the
07:52most devastating move in all of sports entertainment, but she only got a 1-2-0.
07:56Sol then reversed the DDT, so Lyra made sure she reversed the Sol Snatcher when Sol went for
08:00that.
08:01But can you believe it?
08:02Lyra then got caught up in the ropes.
08:04So Sol was like, well, that's perfect for me.
08:05She hit a Sol Snatcher, that's not what it's called, a Sol Snatcher, and she got the 1-2-3,
08:11and again.
08:11It was a bit convoluted the way Lyra was like, oh no, I'm just in this position.
08:15But also, I think it was fun because, look, let's be honest here, friends, we all know
08:19what pro wrestling is, so you can do things like this.
08:22And it's better than someone just stood there going, oh, hello, here's my neck, would you
08:26like to grab it and snatch me?
08:28Take that back, it sounds bad.
08:29Right, it was totally fun, even though Lyra Valkyria just got beaten clean in the middle,
08:32Sol Ruka did need all this.
08:34And I actually think that Lyra can turn heel on Bayley, or vice versa, depends what you
08:38want to do, but let's just make sure we use all of these people.
08:42I genuinely thought they had a good chemistry here, and there's way more we can do.
08:46I mean, imagine Bayley going after the IC title again, nobody's going to get mad about
08:49that.
08:49I am going to give it an up, sometimes, you've just got to do good.
08:53And they went out there, ow, and they did good.
08:55When we got more sad Jacob for two, the SJF, and at least here he did finally bark at the
09:02Usos, because they were being horrible to him.
09:04He's like, listen, when I signed that stupid deal, I have to work for Roman, not you.
09:08They left, and he came back again.
09:10I don't think he knows what he's doing.
09:11And then all talked about LA Knight, because they just know somewhere he will be off ranting
09:15about their family.
09:16And I was like, what a crazy assumption to make.
09:19Talk about a bunch of paranoid pulls.
09:20LA Knight was probably just sat down playing Mario Kart, although I think his spidey sense
09:25must have tingled too.
09:26Because as soon as they had talked about this, who walked to the ring, surprise, surprise,
09:30it was LA Knight.
09:31Now, I absolutely love this as well.
09:33And it's actually something that WWE is missing, because LA Knight told whoever's at ringside
09:36to throw him a microphone.
09:38And the throw wasn't very good, so he missed.
09:40When he tossed it back, and this guy had to do it again, LA Knight caught it like he
09:44was the coolest guy on the planet, and threw his sunglasses away.
09:47And because it felt like improv, and because it felt like in the moment, I tell you, man,
09:51LA Knight got himself even more over than he already was.
09:54I understand you can't plan for this stuff, but maybe we just need to give wrestlers a
09:58little bit more leeway.
09:59LA Knight definitely watches the show too, because he was like, listen, I am in a four-way
10:03King of the Ring match on SmackDown, and of course the Usos are going to get involved,
10:06because that's just what they do.
10:08And Jey Uso is also going to be involved in a four-way, which means the Bloodline are definitely
10:11going to get involved.
10:12And that's why I don't trust Alan Pearce.
10:14Is he stopping them from running in and doing all of this?
10:16No, he's not.
10:17I think he's in Roman Reigns' pocket.
10:20That's like Chuck Chico for two.
10:21He can be sad as well.
10:22As soon as Jey Uso heard this, he came to the ring, and I have no idea what his character
10:26is anymore.
10:27He's an unhinged loon, although once again, LA Knight doesn't just stand there like a plum,
10:31because when Jey Uso tried to run his entrance back, he was like, no, why would I let you
10:35do this?
10:36I'm here to tell your absolute goober.
10:38And Jey was like, I'm no goober.
10:39You know what?
10:40I will win the King of the Ring, and I will go after the WWE title.
10:42Jey's big point as well is that he doesn't need help from anybody, even though he always
10:45gets helps from someone.
10:47When LA Knight kind of pretended, listen, I do respect your family, but no, I don't.
10:51And you can't say those words around Jey Uso, because they were going to fight when Jimbo
10:55Uso came out to stop all of it.
10:57I was like, why does Jimmy Uso care?
10:59What benefit does he get from this?
11:01So I've no idea what the direction is, though actually I think LA Knight should win the King
11:04of the Ring if it's not going to be over Femi.
11:06And just do Roman Reigns versus LA Knight, because even though LA wouldn't win, I do
11:09think he'd actually get something from it.
11:11But I'm still going to give it an up, because one, people in France loved LA Knight, and
11:16two, it just felt like unhinged madness ever since LA Knight did drop that microphone, but
11:22it was very entertaining, it was very easy to watch.
11:24And I guess that we're going to do Jey Uso versus LA Knight, and actually that match
11:28has been like a year in the making, because they hated each other last year too.
11:32I'm all right with it.
11:32This is when Chad Gable apologized to Rey Mysterio, and given that we had just seen
11:36Rey, he came out for his IC title match with Penta.
11:39And you know how I feel about Penta, I think with all the said and done here, he should
11:42be trying at the tip of the top level to see if it does stick.
11:45And this Rey Mysterio, do you know he debuted in 1989?
11:49Do you know he is over 50 years old?
11:50Do you know back in the day he did change the game?
11:53And he is still able to put on matches like this?
11:55It was flubbing ridiculous.
11:56It was like a five-star classic or anything like that.
11:59But they just worked so well together, and it was so damn entertaining.
12:02I tell you, my friends, I had a wonderful time.
12:04I mean, we got tilt-a-whirl back breakers, kicks that were super, and a bunch of chops.
12:08And Rey Mysterio did that awesome sunset flip bomb thing that he did.
12:12When he was going for 619s, but Penta was like, no, I don't want to take those.
12:15So he hit with a Penta driver for a one-two ooh.
12:18I don't think anybody deep down in their tootsie-toes thought Rey Mysterio was going to win.
12:22But it's still flubbing Rey Mysterio.
12:24Basically too, eventually Rey did get his 619 splash combo.
12:27But Penta had this mark, and he got the knees up.
12:29When he hit the Mexican Destroyer, Rey Mysterio looked like he was dead.
12:32And he got the one-two-three.
12:34So once again, I don't think WWE allows Rey Mysterio to get as many wins as his legend does deserve.
12:39But this did the world of good for Penta.
12:42And actually, the post-match was super fun too.
12:44Because instantly out came Ethan Page and Rusev.
12:47And these two guys are hilarious.
12:49Rusev ripped the mask off Rey Mysterio.
12:51And not only did he look like an insane person,
12:53Ethan Page thought this was so funny.
12:55Well, he took a moment and instantly went back to kicking Rey in the face.
12:59Honestly, they're like kids, man.
13:01I love them.
13:01Of course, it also meant that Chad Gable came out to make the save.
13:04Because he respects luchadors now.
13:05And this place went crazy.
13:07And the German suplexes that Rusev and Ethan Page took.
13:11Did they wake up this morning and understand the assignment?
13:13The crowd just lost their minds here as well.
13:15And Chad Gable came across like such a massive star.
13:18Especially when he embraced Penta and Rey Mysterio.
13:20So that's another guy who at the very least should be going after the IC title.
13:24And he is involved in that situation.
13:26I am giving it up.
13:28I thought everybody was great here.
13:30Just keep on doing it.
13:31Fantastic stuff.
13:32Raquel Rodriguez then reminded us that she will be facing EOSky in the semifinals.
13:36So I would imagine that it is going to be once again EOS versus Liv Morgan at SummerSlam.
13:40When we cut to a video with EOSky.
13:42And she said, Raquel Rodriguez, I don't think you have any honor.
13:46Which I do believe means you have to slap Raquel in the face with a glove.
13:49And challenge her to a duel.
13:51The Dive Judgment then spoke about this.
13:52Because of course they are super excited.
13:54It could be Raquel versus Liv Morgan.
13:56Although Liv Morgan didn't seem to be interested at all.
13:59So I bet Rodriguez was mad about that.
14:01When they all left apart from Roxanne Perez.
14:03Who stood there and did shifty dog eyes from The Simpsons.
14:06Just to let you know.
14:07In case you weren't able to pick it up.
14:09Maybe not all is well in the Day of Judgment.
14:11When we did get our main event.
14:13Another King of the Ring qualifier.
14:14It was a four way.
14:15But it was Javon Evans.
14:16Taking on Tala.
14:17I'm the tallest Tonga.
14:18Taking on Ricky Saints.
14:19Taking on Seth Rollins.
14:21And this just goes back to what we said earlier.
14:23I did not have that on my bingo card.
14:25But because it felt fresh.
14:26And because it helped new.
14:27I just had a great old time.
14:29And I assumed Seth was going to win.
14:31But because he said all that stuff about the vision.
14:34Well I kind of thought it was going to go another way too.
14:36That's what you want.
14:37It's called Jeopardy.
14:38I really did enjoy seeing Seth Rollins tangle with all these guys as well.
14:40Because I don't think we've ever done that.
14:42And I really think everybody took their moment too.
14:45Ricky Saints looked great.
14:45Javon Evans looked great.
14:47And listen.
14:47Tala I am the tallest Tonga.
14:49Is being booked as a monster.
14:50Even though he doesn't really come across as a monster.
14:52But at least he's got a direction.
14:54Of course at 1.2.
14:55Ricky was trying to help out Tala.
14:56Before Tonga turned around and punched him in the face.
14:58So he's never watched a four way before.
15:00And you just knew at some point.
15:02Seth Rollins was going to have this match won.
15:04Which he did.
15:04Ricky Saints was down.
15:05But he was going to get the 1.2.3 when Austin Theory appeared.
15:09He pulled the referee out the ring.
15:11And because it is a four way.
15:12There were no disqualifications.
15:14And while we've already talked about that.
15:15It is a bit of a get out jail free card.
15:17But two.
15:18There wasn't much nonsense in the rest of the show.
15:20So you should save it for your main event.
15:22And Montes Ford instantly ran out here.
15:23And I was like.
15:24You're too late Montes.
15:25The damage has already been done.
15:26But he put Austin Theory to the back.
15:28When Bron Breaker teleported in.
15:30He smashed Seth Rollins with this spear.
15:32Which still made me laugh.
15:33Think of the poor referee.
15:35He's like.
15:35Man that's not in the rules.
15:36But at the same time.
15:36It's a four way.
15:37There's nothing I can do.
15:39But the best part was this.
15:40Seth Rollins was then dead.
15:41So Ricky Saints was like.
15:42Well.
15:43I'm going to take him on.
15:44But because Javon Evans ran past Ricky.
15:47And just touched him on the head.
15:48Ricky was like.
15:49Well I better face this direction.
15:50When Javon hit the OG cutter.
15:52And he got the 1.2.3.
15:54I'm not moaning about it.
15:55Right.
15:55I'm fighting this under goofy wrestling for life.
15:58It made me laugh out loud.
15:59In the best way.
16:00And then I realised Javon Evans.
16:02Is going through to the semi-finals.
16:04Of the King of the Ring.
16:05Go back to what I've said this entire video.
16:07It's somebody different.
16:08It's somebody new.
16:09We should be making new stars.
16:11And even though I don't think Javon Evans.
16:12Is going to win the tournament.
16:14The fact that he got through.
16:15This was totally the right thing to do.
16:17I'm a supporter of it.
16:18I'm giving it an up.
16:20And then I guess now.
16:21We do have to do the tag team match.
16:22Between Montez Ford.
16:23And Seth Rollins.
16:24And the Vision.
16:24And that makes sense too.
16:26Which was the end of Monday Night Raw.
16:27And yes.
16:28Listen.
16:28I've said this a thousand times.
16:29Just because it does get all ups.
16:30And no downs.
16:31Doesn't mean it was the greatest show of all time.
16:33But on the 7th.
16:348th of June.
16:35Whatever it was.
16:362026.
16:37This is exactly what WWE did need to do.
16:40And also.
16:41I'm convinced that two different people.
16:42Are booking Raw and SmackDown.
16:43They feel like they're produced.
16:44By totally different companies.
16:46But we don't have to worry about that.
16:47Because that was Friday.
16:49But this week.
16:49Raw gets it up.
16:50If you have two and a half hours.
16:51It is well worth your time.
