00:00So I got my first prediction right for last night's Saturday Night's Main Event.
00:03You should have seen some of the DMs I got.
00:05Just because I said I think the baddies will win and Jay Cargill will pin Rhea Ripley.
00:10I mean, you would have thought I slapped somebody's mother and didn't.
00:13Also, my friends, hello and welcome to Ups and Downs for SMME 2026 Part May.
00:19That didn't make any sense.
00:20Why did I say that out loud?
00:21But given they did just throw it on that television screen,
00:23we are going to go through it, give the good bucks enough for the bad bits and downs.
00:26But as always, when you do watch the Saturday Night's Main Event,
00:29I think you can't just sit back, get some popcorn and enjoy it for what it is.
00:33You're not going to get any whips, bangs, majangs.
00:35It's just kind of going to be there to give you some nice wrestling.
00:38And that's basically what it achieved.
00:40Let's upload that.
00:41But it didn't mean it was Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss that we can't get on.
00:45It's taking on the baddies, Jay Cargill, Meechan and B-Fab.
00:47And my two favorite things about this is we went pure 80s at the start
00:50because Rhea Ripley and Jay Cargill were going to lock up.
00:53Jay went, no, I'm not interested.
00:55But also, I thought this was so much fun to watch.
00:58And Meechan especially was like, oh, man, you're going to give me some time in the ring.
01:02I'm going to whoop some ass.
01:03I thought she looked very, very good.
01:06Graham was so into this as well, to the point, even when Meechan tagged in,
01:09they just went, boo, boo.
01:11They couldn't believe this would happen.
01:12And they couldn't believe that Charlotte Flair, once she got in there and threw some bones,
01:16got her ass kicked by everyone.
01:18Jay Cargill was being a ding-bang on the outside.
01:20And I think they were totally good.
01:22It's what no one is ever going to tag in again.
01:24Charlotte Flair is totally screwed.
01:26Then she tagged in Rhea Ripley and Rhea Ripley went wild.
01:29I want to throw a shout out to Alexa Bliss as well,
01:31because being the keep them together person, if that's the right terminology,
01:35to try and make sure Charlotte and Rhea stay on the same page,
01:37it's just so much fun to watch as well.
01:40And of course, Rhea Ripley beat everybody up.
01:41And Alexa Bliss beat people up.
01:43And Charlotte Flair beat people up.
01:44And the other people came in.
01:45They took down the baby faces.
01:46Then Charlotte Flair came off the top of the crossbody.
01:49It was just there to make the crowd go, wow.
01:51Meechan eventually hit the Styles Clash as well.
01:53And AJ Styles has now said 47,699 times he does not care if anybody uses his moves.
01:59And also actually does tie into WWE lore,
02:02because Meechan and AJ Styles used to be buddies.
02:03And of course, the big payoff was Rhea Ripley and Jay Cargill finally smacking each other in the face.
02:08But also at that point, Rhea and Charlotte worked together.
02:11They threw B-Fab and Meechan around.
02:13And this did kind of make me laugh,
02:15because Alexa Bliss was so over the moon,
02:16she ran in there and they did a big hug.
02:18It's like, guys, the match is still going on.
02:20And Jay was like, yeah, that was stupid.
02:22She mugged all of them off.
02:23She hit the flipping, what's it called?
02:25The Jay did.
02:25How did I forget that?
02:26Rhea Ripley, the women's champion.
02:28And she got the one, two, three.
02:30So now, of course, we go into Clash in Italy.
02:32Oh my gosh, she pinned her there.
02:33Maybe she can pin her again.
02:35I mean, she won't.
02:36But it's wrestling booking 101.
02:38This is all you need to do.
02:40Well, I actually really enjoyed this and thought it was an excellent opener.
02:43In the sense the fans were so into it,
02:45and it just got them warmed up.
02:46I bet they were like, oh man, I'm so pleased I've come to the wrestling on a Saturday night.
02:50I am going to give it an up.
02:52And I suppose there was maybe teasing that Rhea and Charlotte could potentially fall out again,
02:57even though they were buddies at the end.
02:59Probably something to keep an eye on.
03:00Because SNME was on Peacock and YouTube as well,
03:02we actually got some backstage promos.
03:04There were still a bunch of adverts, but it was nowhere near as aggressive.
03:08So here was Ethan Page basically saying,
03:10man, it's going to be a great night for everybody's career.
03:12My career, the Intercontinental title's career, your career, the fan's career,
03:17because I will become the Intercontinental champion.
03:19And that's a big deal.
03:20Small spoiler, he was lying.
03:22It was not his turn though, because first of all,
03:24we were going to do Becky Lynch versus Sol Ruka.
03:26I don't really understand what this was trying to achieve.
03:29They got five minutes, and then we had a pretty weird finish.
03:33But let's just talk about the elephant in the room,
03:35because it's all everybody wants to talk about.
03:37Yes, ever since Sol Ruka has come to the main roster on Monday Night Raw,
03:40the Sol Snatcher hasn't gone to plan.
03:42But I do not think we need to throw the baby out with the bathwater here.
03:46You can't forget how successfully she hit it in NXT for, what, three years?
03:50Whatever the flub it was.
03:51Maybe she's nervous.
03:52Maybe something went wrong.
03:53And actually here on this night, basically what happened
03:56is Becky Lynch pulled the referee, who yes, was Jessica Carr.
03:59And I bet we get to Becky versus Jess eventually in the way.
04:02And I think when Sol was going for the Sol Snatcher,
04:04she was like, I don't have a lot of room here.
04:06I can't rotate and do a spinnily-winnily.
04:08So she kind of just sort of whacked Jessica Carr in the head with her leg.
04:12But the commentators covered her.
04:13Michael Cole was like, well, I don't think she entirely got all of it.
04:16It's still not great, and it's still not ideal in the sense.
04:19We know she can do that move.
04:20So you want to make sure she does showcase it in front of more people.
04:23But shit happens.
04:24Excuse my language, especially our young viewer.
04:26But that is the truth.
04:27Some of the stuff you read online, you're crazy.
04:30You just know eventually she'll smash it fine as well,
04:33though then all of a sudden we will be off for the races.
04:34And I'm actually much more concerned, which is not the right word at all,
04:38not like a father yelling at their child.
04:40But one, I just think Sol Ruka's use on Raw, since she was caught up,
04:44is so strange.
04:44It's like loss, loss, loss.
04:46And this one ended in the disqualification.
04:48You also have the fact this kind of nonsense happens in all wrestling matches,
04:51and sometimes referees don't care.
04:53And also after the fact, Adam Pearce is like, well, Becky,
04:55you shouldn't have done that.
04:57So now you will defend your IC title against Sol Ruka in Italy.
05:00If I was EOS Sky, I'd be like, excuse me, I beat Sol Ruka recently.
05:04What am I?
05:05Chopped liver?
05:05Unbelievable.
05:07It was also just really short, so it was an angle match.
05:10And I would assume that maybe Sol Ruka does beat Becky Lynch in Italy.
05:13But I still think she could have won here too.
05:16It comes back to that old question we always ask ourselves.
05:19If you're not ready to have us winner, or give us a winner, I should say,
05:22why on earth do you book the match?
05:24You can't even criticise their work, because there was no work.
05:26I swear it didn't even go five minutes.
05:28And the down is for everything else, not what happened with the finish.
05:31People are allowed to make mistakes.
05:33And absolutely, if we do this for another six months,
05:35and for whatever reason, she just can't get it back,
05:38then you change it.
05:39And it would suck, but we'll live to fight another day.
05:41But I'm giving it a down.
05:43It's just a little bit weird.
05:44But then I kind of feel like a hypocrite,
05:46because I like small stuff like this, or shorter stuff like this,
05:49in a show.
05:49It doesn't mean WWE should stop doing it.
05:52It just means, on this night, it wasn't for me.
05:55Penta then did defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page.
05:58And the best way I can summarise this,
06:00is one, Ethan Page does not get the credit he deserves.
06:03He is so damn good.
06:05And surely some people backstage in WWE are like,
06:07man, we've got to do something with this Ethan Page.
06:09And as for Penta, once again, he's brilliant.
06:12We all know that.
06:12But the way he connects with the crowd,
06:14I've said this before, and I'll say it again.
06:16One day, and it can be a TV programme,
06:18he should be put at the tippity top,
06:20just to see what happens,
06:22because you never know.
06:23Page was killing this guy at 1.2,
06:25like he dropkicked him out of midair,
06:26and threw him into Adam the announce table.
06:28When Penta decided, I don't like your neck,
06:30I don't like your back,
06:31so he hit a backbreaker,
06:32and he hit a neckbreaker.
06:33He's a smart guy.
06:35They eventually hit each other with superkicks,
06:36because of course it is 2026,
06:38and poor Ethan Page then melted down.
06:39Because not only did he hit Penta
06:41with a confidence breaker for a 1.2.
06:43That's one of the best name moves going at the moment,
06:45because it is so dumb.
06:46He also hit it with an avalanche slam,
06:48but Penta kicked out again.
06:49Well, at this point, Page was like,
06:50you know what?
06:51I am not particularly happy right now.
06:53I'm going to remove this turn pad from the turnbuckle.
06:56The reference was like,
06:56oh, why do you do this to me?
06:58But like a cartoon villain,
06:59Ethan went to the other one,
07:00and he exposed that too.
07:02Now, it turns out Penta must have super ribs,
07:04or something like that,
07:05because he did fly into this,
07:07and Ethan Page hit the most devastating move
07:08in all the sports entertainment surprise roll-up.
07:11But Penta kicked out,
07:12Ethan Page then went into this deal,
07:14because he is our heel,
07:15and that rhyme set must be true.
07:16Penta hit a very cool-looking Mexican Destroyer,
07:19and he just beat him 1-2-3.
07:21I don't want to be that guy,
07:22but I don't really see why Sol
07:24couldn't hit the Sol sets around.
07:25Becky had done the same.
07:26What do I know other for?
07:27This was really good, though,
07:28and arguably the best thing on the entire show.
07:30I just think going forward,
07:32the IC title scene could be so damn good.
07:34You've got Javon, you've got Rusev,
07:35there's probably some other people
07:36you could sneak in there too,
07:37and let's not forget what we're doing
07:39with the US title on SmackDown.
07:41So I'm going to keep everything cross.
07:42This gets a massive up,
07:44and as we said on ups and downs the other day,
07:46Ethan Page should be the Intercontinental Champion
07:48before the end of 2026.
07:50And then fell down on the floor,
07:51as always,
07:51because it was time for our
07:52Women's Tag Team title match.
07:53We had to go through pre-mode.
07:56It's actually what it sounds like.
07:57It's like nails on a chalkboard for me.
07:59I have a serious problem,
08:00but listen,
08:01fair play to scream mode
08:04versus the Irresistible Forces.
08:06This goes back to the confidence breaker.
08:08Bravo to WWE.
08:10They brought back stupid 1980s names.
08:13As we have talked about on SmackDown Ups and Downs
08:15and on Raw Ups and Downs,
08:17these Women's Tag Team titles
08:18have just fallen by the wayside a little bit.
08:20But in terms of finally finding your groove,
08:22I thought everyone here did a decent job.
08:24You're not going to write home about it
08:26and say,
08:26oh my gosh,
08:27the best match ever,
08:28but nor was it ever meant to be.
08:29And thank goodness
08:30we didn't give the belts back
08:31to Nia Jax and Lash Legends.
08:32That's not disparaging towards them.
08:34They just only held it recently.
08:36So if you are going to do something
08:37with Paige and Bree,
08:38well, go and do something with Paige and Bree.
08:40Nia Jax soon took over
08:41the bunch of Samoan drops as well,
08:42and she is Samoan.
08:44When,
08:44I guess you're just going to have
08:45to watch the footage.
08:46She essentially used her butt as a weapon.
08:49Don't know how else to tell you this.
08:51My hole.
08:52They then copy what did go down
08:53during the first match,
08:54but all tag team matches
08:55all follow a certain pattern.
08:57But it meant that Bree Bella got the hot tag
08:59and she ran wild.
09:00And then when she got dropped
09:01with the Samoan drop too,
09:02all of a sudden Paige had taken her med pack.
09:04She climbed to the top rope.
09:05This was quite an interesting finish.
09:07She hit the sunset flip onto Nia Jax.
09:09When she had the pin,
09:10Bree Bella kind of stuck her foot out
09:12in order to give her assisted leverage.
09:14She got the three.
09:15I was like,
09:15well,
09:16that is quite smart.
09:17And Lash Legend and Nia Jax,
09:18they do cheat a lot.
09:19So I suppose all is fair in love and war.
09:21At least it was different.
09:22And at least it was smart.
09:23And at least we didn't get a distraction here.
09:25I'm not 100% sure what you do do next,
09:28but I am going to give it up.
09:29Like I say,
09:30it just ticked the box that it needed to tick.
09:32I would still like to see Charlotte Alexa go heel
09:34and become the tag team champions,
09:36especially because if you do turn Charlotte Alexa heel,
09:38they can be fab, right?
09:39Flair and Bliss,
09:40team fab.
09:41Pretty sure we had that like 10 years ago.
09:43I'm still going to give it up.
09:44Again,
09:45it did exactly what it needed to do.
09:47The Vision then told us
09:48they were absolutely going to retain
09:50the tag team titles
09:51and we should not think about anything else.
09:53Can you believe it?
09:54Austin Theory and Paul Logan,

09:57Logan Paul,
09:57they went to the ring.
09:58They got the Street Profits
09:59and that's exactly what they did.
10:01And there was no Seth Rollins here,
10:03which I think is going to tie
10:03into something bigger down the line.
10:05And yes,
10:06I've made a dumb prediction
10:07that maybe the Street Profits
10:08break up on this night
10:09and Montez Ford goes heel.
10:11Given how this match ended,
10:12I'm not entirely sure WWE
10:14is not heading in that direction.
10:15But yes,
10:16I mostly said it
10:17because I thought it was
10:17fun fantasy booking.
10:18You probably were never going to do that
10:20on a Saturday night's main event.
10:21Of course,
10:21we were all waiting for
10:22Bron Breaker to show up
10:23because that's just the way
10:24the Vision works.
10:25But again,
10:26WWE didn't have too many
10:27shenanigans on this show.
10:28So you don't have too many.
10:29It's perfectly fine.
10:30I understand how wrestling works.
10:32But man,
10:32he went after Montez Ford
10:34and Angelo Dawkins went,
10:36nope,
10:36Bron,
10:36you are going over
10:37out of the announce table
10:38and he pounced this dude.
10:40Fair play to Angelo,
10:41but fair play to Bron Breaker.
10:43Like he will run you over
10:44with a spear,
10:44but at this time,
10:45for him to get murked.
10:46That dude is flying.
10:47It led to a really good
10:48false finish though
10:48because the Street Profits
10:49got back in the ring
10:50and they hit their
10:51double team finisher.
10:52And just when it looked
10:53like they were going to win,
10:54Paul Heyman grabbed
10:55Austin Theory's foot
10:56and he put it on the ropes.
10:57I mean,
10:58you could probably argue
10:58maybe the referee
10:59should have seen this,
11:00but the way the fans reacted,
11:02I thought it was well executed.
11:03Now,
11:03of course,
11:04Montez was so damn mad.
11:05He was like,
11:05Paul Heyman,
11:06I'm going to beat you up,
11:06which is a terrible idea
11:07because Logan Paul
11:08then got his brass nuts.
11:10He whacked
11:11Montez Ford
11:12right in the ring.
11:13He threw it back in the ring,
11:15took care of Logan Paul,
11:16but it was too late.
11:17Austin Theory being the asshole
11:18he is just pinned
11:19Montez Ford.
11:20He got the one,
11:21two,
11:21three.
11:22So if you're going to
11:22summarize it in headline form,
11:24the Street Profits
11:25just stole one.
11:27But yes,

11:31he wasn't going to interfere,
11:33maybe because Montez Ford

11:41But the coolest thing about this,

11:44is going to find

11:46And let's face it,
11:47it was a tag team match
11:48in a main event.
11:49Once again,
11:49I understand SNME
11:51is not like
11:51a super duper whooper show,
11:53but you've got to start
11:54with baby steps
11:55and it gets me excited.
11:56I said this the other day,
11:57and I'll say it again here too,
11:58I'm always honest
11:59and I'm always transparent
12:00as I've told you
12:01a thousand times,
12:02Logan Paul and Austin Theory
12:03together as a team,
12:04especially a bad guy team,
12:06are pretty good together.
12:07Like they're such
12:08absolute goobers,
12:09but it is working.
12:10Super fun match,
12:11giving it up.
12:12If I was going to sum up
12:13Saturday Night's main event
12:14in one word,
12:14it would be fine.
12:15And when something is fine
12:16and you want something
12:17to be fine,
12:17you sit down
12:18and you have a fine time.
12:19Like,
12:19you don't really have
12:20to go out of your way
12:21to watch Chica Pro
12:22just catch up
12:22with the highlights.
12:23I doubt anybody
12:24is ever going to go back
12:25and watch these matches again.
12:26But I woke up,
