01:13I'm not going to lie to the listeners and viewers.
01:17We have not been doing a traditional Smackdown preview these last few weeks because the unique way a pay-per
01:23-view is structured.
01:24We've had Saturday Night's main event, Clash in Italy.
01:27We had to do one once on a Wednesday in order to protect Sidgwick from Smackdown where nothing was announced.
01:35That wouldn't happen on an actual Friday when we sit down here on a Friday to do it.
01:38That'd be ridiculous.
01:40We've had to cover ones that have then subsequently changed the card after the graphics have been released.
01:46Yeah. It'd be nice if they actually announced stuff that was going to be on this show.
01:49It's not felt like a particularly stable time for Smackdown.
01:54And we've also not necessarily been doing the reviews because of the aforementioned pay-per-views.

02:20I was like, yeah, that's the cycle we kind of have come to understand now.
02:23So I'm not going to sit here and lie and say I feel fully up-to-date with Smackdown.
02:28There was a period where, almost in spite of ourselves, we were really locked in.

02:35Yeah, like, turned their backs on it a little bit.
02:37I've kept up with Cody and Sammy.
02:39I think that is really interesting.
02:43Otherwise, and I quite like a couple of things that we've kind of talked about a little bit
02:47over the desks before we came in to record.
02:50Otherwise, it does still feel like a show in a little bit of trouble.
02:54Like, WWE is not having a great year creatively.
02:57Yeah.
02:57There are many videos and podcasts that you can listen to us talk about that.
03:01Smackdown, in a way, I can't decide if it is, like, the ultimate evidence of WWE's creative
03:09failings or it feels so forgotten about that you almost, like, can just ignore it and let
03:15it fail over in the background.
03:17You know, like, if it was a bit smaller, we'd maybe collision that bitch and just be like,
03:20well, nothing matters on here.
03:21Yes.
03:22The stars are on it.
03:23Yeah.
03:23You know, it's Cody's show and it's like these big storylines that feed into the PLEs.
03:27You have to stick with it.
03:28You can't just, like, abandon Smackdown from your weekly wrestling diet.
03:32And we've got a bit of a run now until Night of Champions.

03:35Just focusing on this.
03:37But I just, I don't know.
03:38Like, when I watch Raw, I feel like there's some pretty big problems here that I think
03:43it's, like, almost fun to get into the weeds and analyse and assess and see what's going
03:46wrong.
03:47On Smackdown now, it's a different kind of effortlessness.
03:51Like, on Raw, I get cross that they're not making enough effort and they're being a bit
03:54lazy because there are, like, these plot developments and there are these stars that are evidently
03:58over and it's like, why aren't you doing anything with him?
04:00Like, we talked on the news today about Liv and Dom.
04:02Yeah.
04:04Um, Smackdown, it's like a different complaint.
04:06There's all these wrestlers and they do do stuff.
04:09They're around.
04:10Yeah.
04:11Like, Trick's there every week.
04:14Um, Cody's there every week, pretty much.
04:16Like, the mid-card gets attention.
04:20Dan Housen's building a monster.
04:21It's not like stuff isn't happening, but, like, so little of it feels like it matters.

04:26There's a real, like, emptiness and a hollowness at the core of the show at the moment.
