00:00Grant, I'm going to ask you this because I think it's one of the most important things that you have

00:05besides your legendary career playing on the ice.

00:08The first African-American goaltender to be on that Stanley Cup, years removed from that, back then you're a player,

00:16you're worried about winning a cup.

00:17The significance, I'm assuming it grows as you get older and that legacy of yours grows as you get older.

00:25Talk about a little bit about that and how much and the importance of that, too, and what it meant

00:30and what it means for you.

00:33I think when you're playing, you hit the nail on the head. You're just a player. You're with a bunch

00:36of guys.

00:37You're just a piece of a team. But as you get older, you kind of start to see the importance

00:42of it.

00:42You want to see the game grow. And the fact that I got to follow guys like Willie O'Ree,

00:47Mike Marson, Bill Riley, Tony McKegney, you see those guys play.

00:52And the fact that I can take a step forward from what they created, build off of that, yeah, first

01:00one on the Stanley Cup, first one in the Hall of Fame.

01:03I think that just builds on the legacy that they started. And it's just, I was fortunate enough that I

01:07get to continue that along.
