00:08They dig up all of your skeletons.
00:10Candidates were cross-examined.
00:12I thought it'd be quite funny.
00:14Does it really feel like fun right now?
00:16Proposals picked apart.
00:18This business plan is a car crash.
00:21It's so unrealistic as to be just nonsensical.
00:24And in the boardroom...
00:26I've got no confidence whatsoever.
00:29Amber Rose's bubble tea business burst.
00:32You're fired.
00:34Chisola's app crashed.
00:35I don't get it.
00:37So it is with regret that you're fired.
00:39And Jordan's journey came to a close.
00:43You're here too early, mate.
00:44That's the problem.
00:45And so it is regretful that you're fired.
00:49Now Dean and Anissa go head-to-head.
00:52We're in the final!
00:53Well done, Anissa.
00:55In the battle to become Lord Sugar's business partner.
01:075am.
01:08For the finalists...
01:10Hello.
01:10Hello.
01:11One last task.
01:12Lord Sugar would like to meet you at the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in central London.
01:17The cars will be outside in 20 minutes.
01:21Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn.
01:23We better get ready there, man.
01:25Yeah, good luck.
01:29This experience has broke me and then remade me.
01:33It made me realise I've got emotions in me that I never knew were there.
01:37I'm obviously not only here for myself.
01:39I'm here for my wife and kids.
01:41The company I've got, I've worked so hard to get it where it is.
01:45Everything he's riding in the next two days is crunch time.
01:50I came into this process being confident that I can win it.
01:54There's been a lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons.
01:56But I didn't regret any of it because I've now become a much stronger businesswoman because of it.
02:02If I won this investment, my whole life would change.
02:05It has the potential to make millions.
02:06And that can change my life, but also everyone around me.
02:25Central London.
02:27The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn.
02:30Training Britain's barristers since 1422.
02:48Good morning.
02:50Good morning, Lord Sugar.
02:51Lincoln's Inn is one of the four inns of court dedicated to the development of some of the country's finest
02:58legal minds.
03:00These are people that argue their case day in, day out.
03:04And that's exactly what you need to do if you want to win my £250,000.
03:11So for your final task, I want you to launch your businesses.
03:15You need to create a new brand for your company and produce an advertising campaign.
03:21And then you'll pitch your business to me and a roomful of leading industry experts.
03:28Afterwards, we'll meet in the boardroom where one of you will become my new business partner.
03:34There's a lot to do, so I've organised a few familiar faces to help you out.
03:58Well, welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
04:01So, to be fair, I'm going to flip a coin.
04:03Who am I going to ask first?
04:04Ladies first.
04:05Ladies first.
04:06Heads or tails?
04:07Heads, please.
04:09Heads it is.
04:10So, your first choice, who would you like?
04:12Uh, Gisela.
04:17How do you look great?
04:18Dean.
04:19Come on in, Liam.
04:20Oh.
04:20First time we get to work with each other, eh?
04:23We're proud of you, bruv.
04:24Well done.
04:24Thank you, man.
04:25Um, Amber Rose.
04:30Jordan.
04:34Frederick.
04:38Mia?
04:40Mia?
04:42Emma?
04:47Johnny?
04:51Malika?
04:55Save the best to last.
04:57Nadia?
04:57Thanks, Dean.
04:59You all right?
05:00Have a good day.
05:02Right.
05:03Anissa, pizza is a crowded market and food companies go bust every day.
05:09So, you need to prove to me that your business can stand out in the face of tough competition.
05:16Dean, I'm sure air conditioning makes you a solid living.
05:19What I want to know is if you're offering me a scalable proposition.
05:24Well, good luck to you both and I'll see you in a few days' time.
05:28Off you go.
05:29Thank you, Dr. Gashir.
05:33Two days to turn plans on paper into budding businesses.
05:38Dean, I'm so pleased to see you.
05:40Welcome back.
05:42Getting a taste of Anissa's ambitions.
05:44I'm so excited to try these pizzas.
05:46I've heard they're five stars.
05:48The rest of her team.
05:50So, this is chicken tikka masala one.
05:53Wow!
05:54Oh, that's wonderful.
05:56So nice.
05:57So lovely.
05:59The current operations is in the kitchen of my dad's restaurant.
06:03So, the way I want to expand is through dark kitchens.
06:07So, what a dark kitchen is, it's essentially a takeaway without a front.
06:11So, these are delivery-only models.
06:13So, some of the feedback from Lord Sugar is,
06:16how am I going to stand out on a crowd market?
06:18So, what I want to be known as for this brand is the pioneer of Indian-style pizzas.
06:23Mmm.
06:23So, that's the plan going forward.
06:26Any questions?
06:29Honestly, it's banging.
06:30Like, it tastes so good.
06:35Across the hall.
06:37The main question from Lord Sugar was, how are you going to scale up your business?
06:41Breezing through the details.
06:42I need engineers, more vans, more tools.
06:45Air-con super van.
06:47Dean.
06:48Air conditioning is a source of heat pump.
06:51Basically, getting rid of the air outside and bringing it in inside, but there's no transition.
06:56And this is air conditioning talk.
06:57Right, it's a sealed system.
06:58It compresses the gas, pumps the refrigerant around the system, and that's what it does.
07:01It recirculates the air within the room.
07:03That's why it's conditioning the air.
07:05Air conditioning.
07:06Getting all this, Johnny, yeah?
07:07Yeah, I'm getting it.
07:10Air conditioning.
07:11I'm very passionate about it.
07:12It's not the most glamorous thing in the world, but I think it's sexy, so I've just got to make
07:17it sexy.
07:19One team will be creating the brand.
07:21I'll be on that team with Chisola and Emma.
07:24Slicing up her supporters.
07:26And the other team will be making the TV ad.
07:28I know, Amber Rose, you have experience making videos.
07:30I think you'd be a great sub-team leader.
07:32I would be on it.
07:33Pizza Pro and Nisa.
07:36Like, what are your thoughts on the advert?
07:38I don't want it to be too gimmicky.
07:40So the TV ad really needs to focus on what we're all about.
07:44Takeaway focus.
07:45It's not an eating restaurant.
07:46It's going to be on the delivery apps.
07:48I think in terms of location, choose a space that looks like someone's house.
07:52Does that make sense?
07:53Yeah.
07:54With the TV ad, I'm very clear on what I want our end goal to be.
07:58This is my business.
07:59I'm hoping the team also understand and get on board as well.
08:01So it's everyone clear on what the concept is and the idea.
08:04Yeah.
08:05Yeah.
08:05So Amber Rose, I fully trust you as sub-team leader.
08:07No pressure.
08:07No pressure.
08:08I was going to say.
08:10Nadia, I'd like you to go with Liam and Mia and do the TV advert.
08:14Yeah, sounds fun.
08:15Conditioning his crew.
08:16So Liam, I'd love for you to be a sub-team leader.
08:18I'm more than athlete Dean.
08:21Guys, with the advert, I want people to know that air conditioning is not a luxury anymore.
08:26It's an essential.
08:27It's not that expensive to buy.
08:29It can all be controlled by your phone.
08:31It tells you the room temperature.
08:32It tells you the pollution in the air.
08:34People need to understand how quick it is to cool a room.
08:37Do want to get that point across.
08:39It's a fan only.
08:40If you did want it to be just a fan.
08:41It's also got a dehumidifier on there.
08:43Hay fever sufferers.
08:44Cleans the air.
08:45All this stuff is cheap to run.
08:46It can be installed quickly.
08:48No mess.
08:49So if you're doing the advert, you can be mentioning all these things.
08:53There's a lot of information that Dean wants us to cover in the video.
08:57So my concern is making sure we hit the brief as much as we can without making it boring.
09:03People think that it only does cooling.
09:04Not a lot of people know that it does heating as well.
09:07All right, sweet.
09:08That makes sense.
09:09We just need to get the points across I'm basically trying to get across.
09:13Let's do it.
09:14Let's get out of here.
09:15Good luck, guys.
09:1911am.
09:20Today, half of each team will turn out TV ads.
09:23There's a lot he wants to get across.
09:25Yeah.
09:25We need to be really strategic in terms of what are going to be the most useful pieces of information.
09:29Yeah.
09:29Yeah.
09:30While the finalists build their brands.
09:33I'm so buzzing that you're in the final.
09:35Congratulations.
09:36Honestly, your pizzas taste amazing.
09:38Thank you, girls, so much.
09:40I love the energy.
09:41This is a no-brainer.
09:42Get the investment right now.
09:47Central London.
09:49The main thing is the fact that AC can heat up homes.
09:52Obviously, a lot of people just associate it to cooling.
09:55Flipping the focus of Dean's campaign.
09:57So, I think a bedroom would be a good location.
10:00You're already in there.
10:01You're cold.
10:01Core is freezing in here.
10:02Liam airs his ad idea.
10:06You're going to say, I turned on my heating ages ago.
10:09It should warm up in an hour or so.
10:10And then you could say, really, my air conditioning heats my home in minutes.
10:14And you could say, air con, that usually cools it down, doesn't it?
10:17And you could say, actually, air con heats up and cools down whilst cleaning and conditioning
10:22the air.
10:23Don't you think it's just a little bit, like, no disrespect, like, a little bit boring?
10:27How can we make that fun?
10:28With air con, we're trying to show people it can do heating of the property.
10:32Yeah, but can we do that, like, in just maybe another way?
10:35Instead of saying, oh, it cools, it warms, it does this.
10:38Just something fun somehow.
10:40I hear what you're saying, but I feel like we just crack on with the message.
10:44Okay.
10:46Who wants to watch such a boring ad?
10:49Like, you've literally got ten seconds to get people engaged.
10:52And if it's not caught them within that instance, they're just going to switch the channel over
10:56and not be interested in it.
10:57At the end of the day, we need to be getting the key information that Dean wants in there
11:01about air conditioning and his firm, do you know what I mean?
11:04Yeah.
11:08On the other team...
11:09Maybe we should get a bit creative with this.
11:12Yes.
11:13How about two friends at a football match?
11:15Thinking outside the pizza box.
11:18After the game, they're both starving.
11:19One wants a pizza, one wants Indian.
11:22Frederick.
11:23Yeah, like, we could start it off.
11:24Have you ever wondered what would happen?
11:27Your two favorite teams...
11:30Fused together.
11:31Love that.
11:32That's a good opening line.
11:33That is really, really good.
11:34We could say, oh, that match was so good.
11:37Do you know what?
11:37I'm really hungry.
11:38And they'd be like, should we go for an Indian?
11:40I'm like, no, should I go for a pizza?
11:41No, I'll go for a pizza.
11:42Do you know there's this place and it's curries on a pizza, so we don't even need to choose
11:46between us.
11:47If footballer can only be one winner, but with our pizza, we can have two winners.
11:50Yay!
11:52Yay!
11:53That's it.
11:54I got it!
11:55Yeah?
11:57I feel like it's a very creative idea, I feel like it's a very fun idea.
12:01British people love football, British people love curry, British people love pizza.
12:05So ultimately, it is a winning combination.
12:07We've actually come up with a masterpiece here.
12:10I think Anissa will be really happy with it.
12:12I agree.
12:12Love it.
12:14I love it.
12:17Midday.
12:18Hello.
12:19Hiya.
12:19At creative agency, Isabel.
12:22I want it to be very clear straight away what the brand's about.
12:25Chewing over names for her fusion concept.
12:28You see the name and you know it's Indian-style pizzas.
12:32Anissa's Pizza Posse.
12:34So does anyone have any name ideas?
12:37Um, spice and slice?
12:40Mmm.
12:41They need to know it's Indian-style pizzas.
12:43I had slice of India.
12:46It's too Indian in a way.
12:48Hmm.
12:48What about something around authentic Indian pizza?
12:52Like something around that?
12:53The only issue is the chicken tikka masala is actually Indian.
12:55It's not authentic.
12:56Yeah, yeah.
12:57I want it to be more, like, catchy.
12:59Fusion spice?
13:01Mmm.
13:01We need to have the pizza part, definitely.
13:04Yeah.
13:04Fusion spice could be anything.
13:07Hmm.
13:11Uh...
13:11Shazola and Emma are really trying hard, but Anissa,
13:14because she's so passionate about making it right,
13:17she's shutting down the creativity.
13:19She's got to let loose a bit and come up with some new ideas
13:22that's really going to stand out in a very competitive market space.
13:25What about pizza, Indiana?
13:28I think Indiana is, like, the Italian word for India.
13:31People won't understand it.
13:32I need it to be understandable straight away.
13:34Yeah.
13:38I've been thinking about this for years.
13:40It ain't just, like, come down to this now.
13:42Domestical.
13:43For Dean, name ticked off.
13:46This is the target that I actually want to aim for.
13:49Okay.
13:49Domestic installations.
13:51Next, lock down his logo.
13:54Can we get this domestic in the lighter blue?
13:58Domestical.
14:00My biggest concern would be that, you know,
14:02we're talking about just doing domestic homes.
14:05Are we blocking ourselves off from commercial?
14:0990% of my work is domestic,
14:11and if I'm including that within the name,
14:13I think it fits quite well.
14:14Mm.
14:14Should we maybe get a roof on there?
14:16Uh, yeah.
14:16To go across the top.
14:18So you're not worried about kind of shutting yourself off
14:20from a big part of the air conditioning market?
14:22No.
14:23For me, the domestic market is the one to target,
14:26and domestic calls way forward.
14:28Mm.
14:29Can we get a squiggly line between there and there?
14:32Lord Sugar has said to Dean that he wants scalability.
14:35That's the biggest thing here,
14:37and we've cut out two-thirds of the market.
14:39You know, we're just going for domestics,
14:42so that might be a massive oversight.
14:44Instant cooling throughout your home.
14:46Yeah, I'm happy with that.
14:47You know, they obviously specialise in domestic cooling.
14:49To me, it looks really good.
14:51Mm.
14:54For Anissa's team...
14:55Should we just go with Zal pizza?
14:57Zal means spicy in Bengali.
14:59I think Zal has a ring to it.
15:00Yeah.
15:01Name finally nailed.
15:03Tight on time.
15:04Icon-wise, I was thinking an Indian pattern.
15:07Still to produce a branded box.
15:10I want the inside of the pizza to be yellow
15:12and the border to be purple.
15:14Yeah.
15:14There's five minutes left.
15:16It looks like a flower to me.
15:17I know what Indian patterns look like.
15:19Which I don't.
15:20So as somebody who doesn't, I don't know what that is.
15:23What things come to mind immediately when we say India?
15:26Something that takes you to India is the Taj Mahal.
15:27Yeah.
15:28I've seen so many Indian restaurants use the Taj Mahal.
15:31I still like my flower on the most, but you guys don't like it.
15:33I just don't think I get it.
15:34Just have nothing.
15:35We don't have time.
15:36I want the whole box to be yellow.
15:38On the side, that flower pattern.
15:40Yeah.
15:40I know it's so basic right now, but we don't have time.
15:42One minute.
15:43I think it needs a temple on the front or some imagery.
15:46Yeah, that's right.
15:46I would just chuck the temple on there just to say this is what we're doing.
15:48If I can do the Taj Mahal instead of me.
15:51Yeah.
15:51Just in the middle.
15:51Fine.
15:52Just on something.
15:53I don't think there's time for anything more now.
15:58Brandon and the logo was tough.
16:00I'm not going to lie.
16:01I think the logo we've ended up with is quite bland, is quite plain, and doesn't really
16:06have anything interesting about it.
16:09I think once it's printed, it'll look better.
16:10Yeah.
16:154pm.
16:16Central London.
16:18Just so everyone's familiar with the storyboard.
16:20OK.
16:21Just focus on the fact that it warms up the home faster.
16:24Honing in on heating for his ad.
16:26Just do a bit of shivering, and then just have a knock, and then Mia said, come in.
16:31Debut director, Liam.
16:33And action.
16:34Come in.
16:36It's Baltic in you, Ham.
16:37What's going on?
16:38I turned the central heating on hours ago.
16:41My water's turned to ice.
16:42Honestly, Hannah, have you not got an AC condition in there?
16:46AC?
16:46That's for cold.
16:47No, Hannah.
16:48Like, these days they go warm, they go cold, and it's fantastic for air filtration.
16:54You can even turn it on from your phone.
16:56You can even turn it on from your phone.
16:58This is my house.
16:59It's absolutely boiling right now.
17:01Alright, cut there, guys.
17:04Their advert makes no sense at all.
17:06These guys have decided to show someone who's cold and buys an air conditioning unit to warm them up.
17:12That's a secondary use for an air conditioning unit.
17:15The primary use is to cool you down.
17:18And it takes literally a matter of minutes to warm up the house.
17:22Perfect.
17:22We've got aaction unit.
17:24Across town.
17:25Frederick and Malika.
17:28Jump up, jump up, we're going to stop.
17:31Coaching her cast.
17:32No!
17:32Come out of the room team!
17:34More energy.
17:35More energy.
17:35More energy.
17:36We need to sell pizza.
17:37Amber Rose as soon as I say go you start with your lines, okay? Go. Oh
17:45My goodness, what?
17:48Stop. Yeah, um, okay. That was good. Yeah, I need more energy quicker. You get it. Yeah action
17:56Whoa, that match was incredible. What's a game huh? Do that again quicker action? Ah that game was incredible
18:04What a guy try not to pause too much in between your lines. We'll go again guys action
18:08Whoa, that game was incredible. What a game do that again?
18:13And if you could speak a little bit louder for me, okay, and also Malika, please remember to look forward
18:18into the pitch from the top
18:21I'm super excited making this TV advert today because I just feel like I'm in my zone directing behind the
18:27camera
18:28I feel like I've got a great eye for it, and I'm gonna come up with a really great TV
18:31advert
18:31Let's do it one more time and Malika tiny bit more energy
18:38We're gonna just get a bit of a close-up now ready action Nadia for team air con
18:43Have you not got air conditioning? It warms up the house way quicker a chance to check it perfect close
18:49there
18:50That's that's great
18:52They're calling oh
18:54Hi guys, how are you?
18:56Yeah, we're good. So we've come up with the name of the company. It's called Domestical
19:01Okay, Domestical
19:03Instant cooling throughout your home is the tagline
19:06Instant cooling throughout your home
19:11Yeah, so come on, how are you getting on?
19:15Um, we was we was looking to do more of a video basing around the fact that it warms things
19:22up
19:24Um, people are going to be coming to us mainly because they're hot
19:27Yeah, alright, sweet. Well, that sort of we've filmed a little bit and we was going to go down the
19:33other route
19:34But obviously it's not it's not too late to change
19:38Yeah, we just will switch it. Well, yeah, it's fine. We'll switch it around. Yeah, people know an air conditioning
19:44company for cooling
19:45All right, sweet guys. Take care. Cheers guys
19:49So we're just basically starting from the top
19:51We're just gonna reshoot same same scene. Nadia's gonna not come in here. Oh, it's roasting in here
19:57You need to get yourself an air conditioning unit
19:59I got it
20:025 p.m. East London
20:05So using something like this like a dardo
20:07Yeah, it's a big part of like Indian cuisine
20:09Preparing a new pizza for tomorrow's pitch. They wanted something more standard. So that's what we'll give them
20:16Oh, here we go
20:17Anissa
20:18Yeah, I'm gonna do a quick chana masala
20:21Chana, oh, okay
20:22What's a chana masala?
20:24It's like a chickpea curry
20:25Yeah
20:25Okay, let's go
20:26The base of any Indian dish is pretty much onions. Yeah
20:30Yeah, and then let me just add some of the chickpeas
20:32Mm-hmm
20:33This is a chut masala. This pairs really well with the chickpeas
20:37It smells delicious
20:38So let's put the spicy masala sauce on
20:40Mm-hmm
20:41And then you can just add all the chickpeas and the onions
20:43Like this?
20:44Mm-hmm
20:44Cheese as well
20:45Okay, our first pizza's going in
20:47It smells great
20:48Chickpea pizza on a dal base
20:50This could be the winning combination
20:53Law sugar himself said he wants me to stand out on a crowded market
20:56And I think the pizza we're making right now
20:58Definitely fishes that boat
20:59It has dal, it has chickpeas
21:01These are definitely ingredients you don't see on pizzas
21:03And something that you can't get anywhere else
21:06Mm
21:07Definitely not flavors I've had before
21:09But it's actually quite a nice mix
21:11I'm actually really happy
21:12Yeah
21:13It's so unique, it's special, it's adventurous
21:15Yeah
21:15Ten out of ten
21:16Ten out of ten
21:20Animation studio Parachute
21:22This is all very new to me
21:24I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to technology
21:26Creating a virtual showroom to give his pitch pizzazz
21:30So far when they walk in
21:31They'll have the display where we've got all the different units
21:34Yep
21:34Dean's team
21:36What other things do we need?
21:38I don't know how it works, what do you think?
21:40I think it could be cool to have a QR code underneath each one
21:43So they can scan it for more information
21:44Yeah, yeah let's do that, that sounds really good Jordan
21:47Should you have a tablet here?
21:48Yeah, yeah
21:49Do you think we should do that?
21:50One on either side
21:51And on each of them
21:52It can be like get a quote
21:53Exactly that
21:54That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve
21:55What else can we do?
21:57What I thought could be cool is having like a
22:00Someone's living room
22:00Or someone's bedroom
22:02If they want to see what it would look like
22:03Above a bed
22:04You know what I mean
22:05Yeah, makes sense
22:06Yeah, that's good
22:07So I feel like we're taking it to the next level with this
22:10And we're expanding
22:11I'm really confident about heading into the pitch tomorrow
22:13And literally just blow them away
22:15With my nice cool showroom
22:18Loving this
22:18See I'm not used to this virtual reality world
22:21You know?
22:22See why I got you here Jordan?
22:24Yes sir
22:29Come in
22:307pm
22:31Oh it's hot in here
22:32You need instant cooling throughout your home
22:34Let me fix this for you
22:36Ads wrapped
22:37We've got a lot of footage that we can work with tomorrow
22:40And hopefully create a great TV advert for Anissa
22:43Brands built
22:44There's my showroom
22:45I'm happy with it
22:46Cool
22:47Thank you mate
22:47Thank you very much
22:48Thank you
22:48For both teams
22:51Back to the house
22:597am
23:00I'm excited to show you what we've done yesterday
23:03For Dean's team
23:04I think it's really good
23:06Let's show you and see what you guys think
23:07Yeah
23:07See ya
23:08The big reveal of his branding
23:11Ooh
23:14The only thing I would say is
23:16It just looks a little bit like any other
23:19Domestic kind of household brand I guess
23:22In terms of like a plumbing company or building company
23:24I don't think it does
23:25I think it does exactly what it says on the tin
23:27It's domestical
23:29So you know it's sort of linked to aircon
23:31And then you've got the home above it
23:32It's definitely been played really really safe
23:35It wouldn't grab my attention to look twice
23:37It just wouldn't catch my eye
23:42Across the hall
23:43Oh
23:44What is this?
23:46The Taj Mahal
23:46I think the Taj Mahal is a little bit random
23:48Presenting her pizza
23:50It was a very much a last met decision
23:53The reason for it is more so to give the Indian feel
23:55Yeah
23:56Anissa
23:58Introducing the chana chaat pizza
24:01Oh
24:01Chana chaat
24:03Donatakin
24:04Mmm
24:04Oh
24:05What this is is a dal base
24:08And then we have the chana chaat
24:10So chana is chickpeas
24:12Right
24:12And the chaat is like a spice
24:13In terms of the taste I'm like blown away
24:16I think you've smashed it
24:17The fact that there's chickpeas in between the layer of cheese and the base
24:21Like when you bite into it is delicious
24:24Anissa I mean I've cleaned this plate
24:26I absolutely love this
24:29I really liked the pizza
24:30I thought it tasted great
24:31I'd definitely go and order this
24:33I want her to start delivering to my area
24:34If I was to host a dinner party
24:36I would definitely put that on there
24:38And I do feel like it would really bring class
24:40To my dinner party as well
24:41It's very classy
24:46I'm a bit of an old fart when it comes to this
24:48Right so let's have a look around
24:49Next for Dean
24:51You can come over to here
24:52You can see all the different types of units
24:54I like the QR code thing
24:56Nah it's class
24:57Digital showroom demoed
24:59You can then come back into these rooms here
25:01Where they actually give you an idea of what it's going to look like inside your home
25:04Oh that's cool
25:05Nice
25:06A chance to check in on the ad
25:08So guys with the advert
25:09I'm interested to hear how you got on yesterday
25:14Yeah so obviously when we left the brainstorm
25:16We wanted to do a little bit more of an educational piece
25:19And the fact that you know
25:20Aircon does actually heat places up as well
25:22I am glad that we switched it back to the cooling
25:24The main reason people come to us is for cooling
25:26In hindsight we probably should have just cracked on with that straight away
25:30Yeah
25:30But obviously we wanted to make
25:31There's a lot of information there
25:32So I think just keeping it quite basic
25:34Air conditioning does cold air
25:36And then we can tell them about the benefits of it
25:38Yeah
25:40By the sounds of it
25:41They spent a lot of time
25:42Making one video
25:43And then pivoted to something else
25:45So honestly I'm not sure what to expect
25:47But I have faith in Liam
25:48That he can edit a good video
25:49And move something strong for the pitch later
25:51Mia I know how good you are with pitches
25:54So I'd love for you to help me out on this
25:56Happy to
25:56And Johnny if you could switch over
25:58Cool
25:58To the video editing
26:00And I'd like to do a team swap
26:02Frederick you've done presentations before
26:04You're a public speaker
26:05Would you mind switching with Emma
26:06And if Emma you go to the video editing team
26:09Yes
26:09Let's do it
26:10Good luck guys
26:11Good luck
26:149am
26:16Half of each team heads off to edit ads
26:19It's the biggest day of her life really this pitch
26:22Absolutely
26:22And we can help by making this advert be a good one
26:25So let's go on with it
26:26Let's smash it
26:27Let's do it girls
26:28Let's do it
26:28For the finalists
26:29My family's run a restaurant for 47 years
26:32I think this is a great way to start
26:34By starting off with you know your story
26:36Pulls on the emotions and the heartstrings
26:38Yes sir
26:39Preparations for the big pitch
26:43I've never actually pitched before
26:44I've never done any sort of public speaking
26:46Apart from my speech at my wedding
26:48I know what yous can do in a pitch
26:49I know how good you are
26:50I need yous to give me that information
26:53And make sure I'm that good
26:54You're so personable
26:56Just make sure it doesn't come across too informal
26:58I don't think it's a massive issue on how it's said
27:01As long as it's confident
27:02Lord Sugar's investment isn't just for your benefit
27:05It's for him as well
27:06Like you need to sell yourself
27:08And you'll do that so effortlessly and naturally
27:10You know you've worked your way from just an apprentice
27:12Starting a business with two kids
27:14Showing that struggle
27:15Showing them kind of your vulnerability there
27:17I am the most passionate person
27:19When it comes to air conditioning
27:20This is my life
27:22I think that's a lovely way to finish it off
27:23And then you open the floor to questions
27:25And that's it
27:25Right, cool
27:28It's starting to feel really real, yeah
27:30I've got one shot at it
27:31There's a lot riding on it
27:32So I'm just grateful for the team that I've got
27:34They've given me some really good advice
27:36I get it
27:38I've just got to deliver it
27:40Everything in here is already in your mind
27:45At the edit
27:46Get the mystical on the phone
27:48And turn your house into a home
27:50It's all looking quite wooden
27:51And quite cringy to watch
27:53While Liam's team add polish to their promo
27:56Domestical
27:57Perfect
27:59Realising her vision
28:00So we'll use this as our first starting clip
28:02Can we crop it so that they're in the centre of the frame a little bit please
28:06Amber Rose
28:09Yes, that's the one we'll probably use
28:11I think you could drop the beginning part of this drone shot
28:13And it could just go, oh, what a game
28:15Um, I'm going to disagree, I can't lie
28:18Because it needs to set the scene of where they are
28:20Now we'll go to the next scene
28:22So I just want to see the footage that we have, please
28:25Amber Rose, if we can
28:26Can we slow down the tempo as I pick it up?
28:29Probably be better not to, if I'm honest
28:30Yeah, I do think it could be a slower pull there
28:33Yeah, I don't think we need a longer pull, guys
28:34Just trust me
28:38Going into this editing session, I knew I'd be taking lead
28:41Anissa basically gave me free reigns to do it
28:43The girls are chiming in as much as they can
28:46But I do think that when it comes to something like this
28:48You just have to have a little bit of tunnel vision
28:50Alright, I'm happy with that
28:52Who wants to do the voiceover?
28:54I'm happy to do it
28:582pm
29:001 mile a bone
29:03In just two hours
29:05Wow
29:06Wow
29:07Finalists will pitch their businesses to Lord Sugar
29:10It's getting real now, guys
29:12This is what it's all come down to
29:13And leading industry experts
29:16Pizza Hut, Papa John's, the big players are here
29:20When I first started the business
29:22No one really believed in it
29:23And now I'm pitching it to industry experts
29:26Lord Sugar
29:27It feels insane
29:29Just can't stop thinking about the wife and kids
29:32You know, how proud they're going to be of me
29:34You know, it means so much to me
29:35And that means even more to them
29:39Upstairs
29:41Hello
29:43Getting a taste of her pizza ad
29:45Can I see it?
29:46Yes
29:46Yeah, I'm really excited for you to see it
29:48Anissa
29:50Have you ever wondered what could happen
29:52If your two favourite teams fuse together?
29:55What a game!
29:57Wow
29:57Incredible
29:58But I'm not going to lie
29:59I'm starving right now
30:00Should we order a takeaway?
30:01I mean, I'm team Italian
30:03So I'm happy to order a pizza
30:05I'm more team Indian
30:06So I'd rather get a curry
30:08If only we could fuse the two together
30:10Well we can!
30:11Have you heard of Zard Pizza?
30:13No
30:13It's Indian inspired pizza delivered straight to you
30:16What do you guys think?
30:22I'm speechless
30:23In a good or a bad way?
30:27The football stadium does feel random
30:30Yeah, no I completely appreciate the randomness of the football ground
30:35But I think, yeah, ultimately we try to tie it in as much as possible
30:42Across the hall
30:43We've done our best on the video
30:45Should we take a look?
30:46They say, look man, I'm alive
30:47The premiere of Liam's promo
30:51What's that fan going to do?
30:52Have you not got an air conditioning unit?
30:54I've opened the windows
30:55I've got a cup of ice
30:55I don't know what else I can do
30:57Well I've got an awesome recommendation for you
30:59They call Domestical
31:00Why don't you give them a call?
31:01Definitely
31:03Hi, is that Domestical?
31:04I need a quote
31:06Come in
31:08There he is
31:09There he is
31:16And turn your house into a home
31:18Domestical
31:18I like it man
31:20I think it's good
31:22Domestical
31:23You've covered all the points
31:24Yeah
31:24I'm really happy with that
31:26Now it's just down to me
31:27I've got to bring this home
31:28And hopefully get my words out
31:30You just go and smash this
31:354pm
31:37Doors open to some of the biggest names in British business
31:41Including aircon experts
31:43And pizza professional
31:50The name of my pizza is pizza
31:54Let me tell you about my background in the air conditioning industry
32:02First to pitch
32:04Calm and confident
32:05Anissa
32:06I feel like in life anyone can have a dream
32:09But what you mean to do is work hard towards it
32:11I feel right now I'm so close
32:14And it would mean the world to me to secure that investment
32:20Good evening ladies and gentlemen and pizza experts
32:24Thank you all so much for coming tonight
32:26My brand is Zal Pizza
32:30My family have been running an Indian restaurant in South London for the past 47 years
32:37I guess you could say curry is in my blood
32:40But how about I'll let you try it
32:42So let's bring out the pizzas
32:44So my current menu features items for example the chicken tikka masala pizza
32:49Butter chicken pizza
32:51Chili paneer pizza
32:52If you think of any of the top curries
32:54I put it on a pizza
32:56Mmm
32:56Mmm
32:57Nice
32:57Oh God yeah
32:59And yesterday I actually developed a new pizza
33:01It has a dal based dough
33:03And the chickpeaks on top
33:05It's very similar to chanachat
33:08Which is a big Indian street food
33:10This is very good
33:13I like to think Zal pizza fixes an issue
33:16When you're having a takeaway
33:17And you want a curry
33:18Or you want a pizza
33:19Why not have both
33:21Have a Zal pizza
33:23Have you ever wondered what could happen
33:25If your two favourite teams fuse together?
33:28I mean I'm team Italian
33:29So I'm happy to order a pizza
33:31I'm more team Indian
33:33So I would rather get a curry
33:34If only we could fuse the two together
33:36Well we can!
33:38Have you had a Zal pizza?
33:39No
33:39Indian inspired pizza delivered straight to you
33:43So right now my business is a dark kitchen
33:46What's great about dark kitchens
33:48It's a scalability aspect
33:50There are low overhead costs
33:52Therefore more profit margins available
33:55And in terms of numbers
33:56With the quarter million pound investment
33:58I want to have ten new dark kitchens
34:00In the next five years
34:02And I want to be the pioneer of Indian style pizzas
34:05I now open the floor to any questions
34:07Thank you
34:08I'm Ahmed Awadala, Chief Operating Officer for Pizza Hut
34:11Have you thought about how do you accelerate and scale your concept?
34:15Because my brand is still new
34:17I think in this first stage
34:19It's very important that I have the control
34:21Because that way when people try a Zal pizza for the first time
34:24I can guarantee them a good quality
34:26And I can control that level of it
34:28I do want to franchise in the future
34:30But I think what's most important for the brand now
34:33Is to develop a good reputation
34:35And stand as a pioneer of Indian style pizzas
34:38Hi Nisa, I'm Chef Romy
34:41Broadcaster
34:42I know this is a very crowded market
34:44How are you going to make sure you're creating more recipes
34:48That people come back to you?
34:50The reason why a Zal pizza can do well
34:52Is because I'll be behind it
34:54And I'll constantly be thinking of new ideas
34:56And I know the consumer, they want different things
34:58So we can have monthly specials, seasonal specials
35:01We want to keep the consumers coming back
35:03And keeping having something different
35:06Thank you so much
35:07Thank you for all your questions
35:08And hopefully you see Zal pizza very soon
35:11Thank you
35:12Cheers
35:17Agh!
35:20Oh my God!
35:23Oh my God!
35:25Oh my God!
35:38dark kitchens are a very hard place to build a brand like she's trying to create something that's
35:42really unique which is a massive massive plus in a crowded market but she's got to sell that
35:48brand she's got to sell that idea to people and that is hard to do through a third-party app
35:52i think it's a great concept but i'm not sure it's all that unique i think it's been done before
35:56and big brands have actually taken that main you think it's been done before i think it has papa
36:01john's has just released their their tandoori range sure you're sure you've pinched it from
36:06uh and how's it going it's it's one of our highest performing pizzas there you go so there's
36:12there's clearly a demand for it next to take the stage dean
36:36thank you all for coming and welcome to my presentation i hope you'll like the song that i
36:42chose i personally can relate to it because i am daddy cool i'm a proud dad of two beautiful children
36:52and they are the reason that i am here today i started off 15 years ago i was an apprentice
37:00getting sent to the shops for a glass hammer and a left-handed screwdriver i learned as much as i
37:06could because i always knew one day i am going to have my own air conditioning company we went with
37:13the
37:13name domestical because we want to make it as clear as possible exactly what audience we are appealing
37:18to we want homeowners to know that how easy and quick they can have an air conditioning unit
37:24installed inside their home because i understand that when customers want air conditioning they want
37:30it there and then hi is that domestical i need a quote come in of course it's roasting in here
37:39let me fix that for you whether you're hot or cold get domestical on the phone and turn your house
37:45into a
37:46home domestic home at the moment i'm currently working from home and it's not really suitable for being
37:55honest my wife hates it when i get a bulk order of air conditioning units delivered and she's got to
38:01drag them through the corridor so we've created a virtual showroom if we was to go through that you'll be
38:10meeting by me waiting to answer any questions that you have about air conditioning
38:21and if we turn around this is our range of wall mounted units with the qr code you can shine
38:28your phone
38:28on it and it literally puts the unit on the wall right there in the room so you can see
38:34what it looks
38:35like at home so guys the mystical it's the future thank you for listening
38:46where are you going it's got to do a q a hi guys
38:55i'm back again um i do believe i forgot the q a
39:04i'm back again mark dyer from dyking hello mark great presentation thank you you talk about expanding
39:09your business yep there's a general skill shortage in the industry how will you recruit so at the
39:15moment mark we've we run an apprentice base sort of thing i'll get the engineers in young we train them
39:21we teach them we show them the ropes i'll pride myself for my work and i feel like i am
39:27the best at
39:28what i do and if i can teach them how to install air conditioning to my standards they'll go a
39:33long
39:33way dean um what i want is just my bedroom air conditioning how much for you lord sugar be free
39:50well then you won't be hired by me if you're giving things away you're giving things away for nothing
39:56so guys that's my presentation invest in air conditioning
40:09thank you man well you smashed it smashed it it was perfect
40:17i think the issue is the scalability of this business he thinks that he could double
40:24his business straight away because he's overloaded at the moment when you go into a home in the
40:29domestic market you're going to install one unit maybe two or three but it's not the repeat business
40:34that you would generate in the commercial sector yeah i mean i think that the market has a bit of
40:39potential in the sense that we do occasionally have heat waves uh occasionally yeah and when we do
40:48people are you know finding it tough to sleep or whatever he's got a good product you know right
40:54now someone's hot exactly said they're hot they can't sleep they want to whack it on they want it
40:57tomorrow yeah i think there's something there
41:01pitch is over i'm so happy i was able to represent my business show my passion and i couldn't have
41:08asked
41:08for anything more i left it all out there on that stage so hopefully i've done enough to impress
41:13it's not sugar tonight there's nothing more the candidates can do tomorrow the final showdown
41:32you can go through to the boardroom now
41:53well um a spectacular evening last night uh very well presented i would say no no criticisms there
42:03apart from uh dean walking up and down the the the the stage i was getting giddy i thought i
42:12was watching
42:12that i thought i was a wimbledon what was all that about i was nervous um i've never done
42:19anything like that and i thought it was the first time yeah anyway can i say anything you looked
42:24fantastic i loved your outfit beautiful i want to represent my bangleshi culture so i was happy i got
42:29to yeah yes now we'll start with dean happy with your mob that came to assist you yeah i'm really
42:38proud of
42:39everyone everyone everyone good in a hundred percent good so me and nadia and liam went off to
42:45make the tv advert is that right yeah yeah to me it started to sound and look like a dodgy
42:51adult film
42:52actually now liam i watched the tv advert
42:59here we go here we go i suggest do not try to do any acting don't take up acting no
43:06don't take up acting
43:07okay um so go on tell me about the uh television advert yeah what happened was in the brainstorm
43:14obviously dean was saying that people didn't really know that it does actually heat places up as well but
43:20obviously once we heard the name and the tagline we thought that it would be better obviously just
43:24put it to the cooling yeah obviously thank god you did absolutely um now dean the name domestical
43:32and then the tagline just remind me what it was said a tagline was instant cooling throughout your home
43:38we're not silly about making you chilly it's a good one um okay anisa simple question because you're in
43:47the pizza business did your team deliver yes i think they ordered a good job and i was really happy
43:54of them the name zal pizza tell me so i wanted to put a bit of my culture in the
44:00name and i wanted to
44:01create a brand that people would remember and it describes what the pizzas are about now you decided to
44:06make a new vegetarian uh pizza is that right yeah you've tasted that one i did yeah i i got
44:14the uh
44:14chicken one which was fantastic yeah me too scores yes yeah i took two slices actually
44:21and half a line yeah so that's my number one pizza at the moment i'm very proud of it and
44:26i knew it'd be a
44:27big hit that one so amber rose malika and frederick you were sent off to do the tv advert right
44:35yeah i
44:36suggested we went to the football ground given the fact that two things are fusing together and just
44:41imagining what would happen if your two favorite teams fused together i mean there was an advantage
44:45that um you know liam wasn't in it um yeah so um the colleagues of the two finalists what do
44:58you
44:58feel about dean for example i think dean is a fantastic bloke what you see is what you get with
45:04dean um he wears his heart on his sleeve you give it a hundred percent the whole way throughout the
45:08process it's it's not smoke and mirrors with dean he's just he's a he's a top bloke i've loved every
45:14task working with you thank you man all these words mean so much to me i'm gonna ask you people
45:18the same about anisa i think anisa has been the standout candidate in my opinion they said you're
45:23looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit i think anisa has demonstrated that
45:27weekend and we put herself forward every bloody time exactly i have been with anisa from the
45:35beginning from day one we've worked together a lot and honestly she has just stood out every single
45:40week she's been incredible right i want to thank you very much indeed uh old candidates um not old
45:48candidates ex ex-candidates for coming along and helping in this process so if you don't mind i'll
45:55i'll ask you to uh leave now so thank you very much thank you have a pleasure thank you good
46:01luck
46:13so i've got spicy pizza versus aircon chili versus the chiller yeah no disrespect to you
46:25or indeed to you but profits of 20 of 30 000 pounds a year is of no interest to me
46:33i'm looking for big
46:35business i understand so anisa if you are the winner tell me how you're going to go forward
46:43so what i'm very proud about is my product i believe my pizzas taste great and i'm very confident of
46:49that
46:49i agree my numbers are not that big but with those numbers i basically did it by myself in terms
46:55of
46:55idea conception pizza with your investment with your advice i know i can make it into a big thing
47:02so how important are people like deliveroo and uber eats and all that to you they're crucial to the
47:07business as a dark kitchen you do rely on the delivery services what i've done the last few years is
47:13hone my uh operations so my average uh review number on uber eats is 4.7 on justy is 4
47:19.8 on
47:21delivery it's really high yeah so i've been consistently good okay um dean yes uh you've
47:29already started making money yeah yeah uh and your idea is is that um by doubling up the amount of
47:37vans
47:37you've got um we're gonna double our money is that right yeah pretty much so that's the next step for
47:43me if i buy a couple of vans and got more engineers i can deal with the workload that i've
47:47got at the
47:47moment i've been a supervisor for one of the biggest air conditioning companies in the uk
47:53and i've seen the operation i know how it works i had 24 blokes underneath me if i can get
47:58to that
47:58stage i can run it a lot more smoother and better than what they've done um and i know it's
48:03possible
48:03yeah so you're going to continue with the residential that's right market yeah not try to
48:11address offices and things like that yeah so at the moment 90 of my work is domestic i just prefer
48:16the domestic market because that's where i think the gap is right well i have got a dilemma really um
48:24because you're both very credible both very very credible um i'm going to ask you to step outside
48:31and i'm going to have a final chat with baroness brady and uh tim thank you well a very very
48:45uh
48:45difficult situation i find myself in because they're two great candidates right so what do you think i like
48:53dean i think the issue for him is he doesn't know how to scale up this is where he needs
49:00you he's lacking
49:01that bit of confidence that the decisions he's making are the right decisions and i think you'll
49:06give him that push that he needs yeah i mean his business has got great potential so anisa listen
49:14anisa's a wonderful candidate she is bright really articulate and really clear about what she wants to
49:21create the challenge is always going to be is it big enough for you i think the difference between the
49:26two candidates is this dean's got a business you're investing in that business and helping
49:31him scale it up anisa yes she has a business it's tiny but you're really investing in her yeah
49:41could you turn the uh two finalists in please
49:54well um i've got a very tough decision to make as to which one of you is going to be
50:00my business partner
50:01um so anisa whilst you say that your recipe is unique to you um could be quite easy to copy
50:10i think
50:11no what makes it special is we're honed in to just indian style pizzas for example if i went to
50:16pizza hut
50:17or domino's i wouldn't necessarily trust them in making authentic toppings with the money i would be
50:22able to develop my current kitchen to become a central hub and then develop other dark kitchens around
50:27it it's a very cost effective way of scaling and getting my pizzas out there to more people
50:32so what is in the dark kitchen um so with dark kitchen you only need one person there because
50:38the ingredients are all cooked beforehand by professional chefs you only need someone to
50:42assemble it it's a lot cheaper than making a brick and mortar store because if you think of the space
50:46you need it's smaller than this desk so my investment could fund a cup of new dark kitchens is that
50:53right correct what do you do next how do you fund the fourth one or the fifth one of the
50:58sixth one
50:58because the profit margins are so high my goal was to have 10 within five years and i think that's
51:04very reachable um there are bigger brands for doing it even quicker than that what's your profit
51:08potential in five years time with 10 all singing and all dancing so we had around half a million pounds
51:15profit with the 10. sounds good but it's got to be done it's got to be uh achieved now dean
51:23according
51:23to your figures your next set of accounts is going to show half a million yeah before we come into
51:27this
51:27process i had it done and it showed 11 months was 461. right and your guesstimate of profit on that
51:33is about 160. right okay what are you going to do from the get-go day one i've given you
51:40the money you're
51:40going to get a smaller warehouse or some kind so i'd get a base even if it's just an office
51:45a small office that's going to cost a bit of money yeah yeah and then next two more vans two
51:51more vans
51:52and two more engineers two more apprentices are you ever going to be in a position where you
51:58uh are not personally driving a van around yeah so this is what the investment's for it's going to
52:03give me the opportunity to come back off the tools and literally go to the jobs quote them and just
52:09run
52:09the operation a lot more smoother right you're a bright lad you've listened to uh anisa in your
52:15opinion why is your business about proposition to me than hers because mine's future-proof we're
52:21getting hotter summers um people are trying to save money on their bills it's the way the industry's
52:27going it's getting busier and busier my business has grown organically from the start and you've
52:32seen what i can do with two people can you imagine what i can do if i had 24 people
52:35so anisa
52:37there's quite a big of a mountain to climb for you uh in the sense that he says give me
52:42two new vans
52:43and i'll get a couple new blokes and then i'll double my turnover right that's what he says you say
52:49that um i'm going to open a dark kitchen it's not going to be as quick but with raw sugar
52:55with your
52:55advice with your guidance this has the opportunity to be big with my business it is unique special and
53:01stands out in the market what's really making you special in the ac market because i am the best we've
53:07get a lot of work from checkered trade trusted trade all them sites and we've got a 9.96 rating
53:12out of 250 reviews it comes up the top rated in my area and i'm the top rated pizza in
53:18my area
53:19i know but this is why i'm trying to say i am the best at what i do so i've
53:24proven it like it's
53:25it's there it's in black and white i've got awards for it i've also got awards for it
53:32the cream this is the cream anisa um give me your kind of final pitch to me and why i
53:41should choose
53:42you as my business partner lord sugar throughout this process i've proven myself a strong leader
53:48i've consistently put my neck on the line i am an all-rounder candidate i'm very confident my abilities
53:53in business and i'm very confident in my product i do genuinely believe indian style pizzas is the
53:58future of the food business through dark kitchens the costs are low and the profit margins are high
54:03the scalability is there and i genuinely believe that this is going to be the next big thing
54:10same question to you dean why why should you be my business partner i know my industry like the
54:15back of my hand i've got a good reputation i've got customers waiting for us to install there
54:21literally on a time they can get um yeah so this is another thing i'm not good at it's things
54:28like
54:28this um take your time take your time yeah sorry all right um so yeah i'm a very loyal and
54:40honest
54:41person you what you see with me is what you get and i'll just give it my all everything with
54:46the
54:46investment i'll be able to take the next steps when needed to get to where i want to be right
54:53well look
54:54this is the way i see it um dean yeah through the process you've you've been quite good there's been
55:02a few rocky moments where you remained in it by the skin of your teeth but do i have the
55:10confidence
55:10in the residential market buying more and more air conditioning and laying out 1500 to 2000 pounds
55:19and all that stuff that's the big that is the big issue you know it's a lot of money um
55:24as opposed to
55:25food where everybody's got to eat um and a 10 quid 12 pound 11 pound pizza is affordable by most
55:35people
55:36um so that's where i am at the moment um anisa you've always put yourself forward
55:45to be the leader sometimes you've led successfully other times you haven't
55:51um i'm only interested in big turnover big profits i'm not interested in peanuts so
56:09giving it deep consideration i'm gonna say that
56:23dean you're gonna be my business partner thank you lord sugar honestly you don't understand what this
56:30means to me and yeah thank you man congratulations congratulations well done dean
56:43this is good carry on this is what we signed up for you know this is what we've worked so
56:51hard for
56:51yeah thank you very much well done off you go i'll see you soon
57:11i can't believe i've just won the apprentice this is going to mean the world to me and my family
57:16my kids are going to be over the moon i'm sure they're going to be the most popular kids in
57:21school
57:22um yeah i can't wait to tell them can't wait to get home to them
57:25um
57:27eighteen candidates one investment for now lord sugar's search is over
57:35uh
57:37uh
57:45uh
57:48uh
57:50uh
