00:08I want you to launch a new Formula E team Paul was in the driving seat oh they like trees
00:15they
00:15like planting trees but his branding team lost control and Onyeka's pitch stalled global warming
00:24is one of the biggest sorry Trey led the other team there's so many things you can bring into the
00:30branding if the sea is the basis for what we're doing his eco ethos I don't know if I want
00:36the
00:36race car though I think so hit the rocks it looks like an 8-bit 80s game but the pitch
00:42was perfect
00:43we want a future where the oceans are as clean as could possibly be and in the boardroom 38.7
00:51million pounds Trey's team won oh wow Verdi nearly left you are not a good director you are clueless but
01:00it was Onyeka not explaining the ethos is a very very serious thing who sped off you're fired now
01:0812 candidates remain to fight for the chance to become Lord Sugar's business partner
01:234am good morning good morning Lord Sugar would like you to make your way to the Savoy hotel in central
01:29London the cars will be outside in 20 minutes thank you 20 minutes and guess where we're off to
01:38the Savoy oh wow sounds like hospitality to me back in the kitchen man the pressure is actually on for
01:47me
01:48more we're literally the only two in our team that haven't been project manager
01:53what do you reckon then Steve it's a boy well I'm picturing you in a chef's hat like in the
01:57kitchen
01:59we back baby
02:12I can't face that loser's cafe anymore like literally you guys have collected enough stamps for a free free coffee
02:18now yeah six on you get free in it the strand central London iconic hotel the Savoy
02:30serving up sumptuous rooms and high-end breakfasts for over a hundred years
02:55good morning if you pick up the tablets on your table and scan the qr code on the front of
03:00the cereal box it'll tell you all about this week's task
03:08good morning now you already know I like a tasty deal
03:14but what you might not know is that the cereal market is worth 2.6 billion pounds in the UK
03:22alone
03:24now canny manufacturers have always appealed to kids with toys and treats
03:30but these days some switched on brands are using augmented reality to capture kids imaginations and create loyal customers
03:41wow so for your next task I want you to design and brand a new cereal that tickles the taste
03:49buds of children aged between 6 and 8 years old complete with an augmented reality
03:56just like this one you need to create brand host a launch event and pitch your cereal to potential clients
04:05the team that produces the most sales will win and on the losing team at least one of you will
04:12be fired
04:15all clear yes off you go
04:21two days to create a kid's cereal brand
04:24what everyone's thinking about this task I think it's really exciting the AR this morning was really cool
04:30and try to secure sales at a launch event anyone interested in being project manager
04:35first job choose a leader
04:39this ticks quite a lot of my boxes personally two kids they've both gone through that six to eight range
04:44my kids are two and four but I feel like even though we're going through the six to eight range
04:49primary school children it's kind of like all about getting a good breakfast in them in the morning
04:54I kind of have an idea of what they would enjoy so I'd really love to take the project manager
04:59role
05:00who votes for Sam
05:04fantastic so Sam you're PM
05:05thank you guys I appreciate it
05:08as soon as I heard that the task was children related I was straight in there
05:12I've got two young kids and I just knew that I'd be able to do well in this straight for
05:16project manager
05:18parents are very big on making sure their kids have got healthy breakfast and just food in general in them
05:22yeah so we can make it healthy and fun at the same time cool sounds good
05:27next door I've got two nephews eight years old the last two years we've been hammering through the
05:32cereals already invested know exactly what that age range likes it's also a bit of a corporate task and a
05:39bit branding as well management consultant Steve in terms of the theme something like a superhero theme
05:47which allows us to create different types of characters for different types of kids so
05:51the only thing with superhero guys it's been done has it been done on cereal
05:55I feel like it must have been done before I just think it's a hit and miss if you get
05:59it wrong
05:59it's gonna be dire I'm leaning towards the superhero idea at the moment because I think it gives us
06:05flexibility to design our own type of superhero character we can make it tongue-in-cheek we can
06:09make it funny we can make it silly something that will appeal that six to eight market I
06:16I quite like space is very exciting you know also cooking up concepts we could almost integrate kind
06:22of the planets of the solar system Sam's team that's kind of what I was thinking that I was kind
06:28of
06:28thinking more like the Arctic it could just be a little bit more like out there with the Arctic and
06:33I
06:33think imagination is like a massive thing for like this age group we can get really playful with it with
06:38the penguins you know you've got polar bears I think the Arctic we're just really limited of how
06:43we can design this personally agreed you've got whites and light blues in the Arctic but there's
06:48not loads of popping colors you can have fun with colors with space healthy healthy healthy space just
06:58go for a decision Sam I'm gonna choose I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with Arctic more I like the
07:06idea
07:07I'm slightly nervous that as we've gone with both healthy and Arctic it might be a little bit bland in
07:13terms of colors and selling opportunities I think that could cause issues across the board we're gonna
07:18go with the Arctic and then a like polar bear as the main character mulling over mascots the character
07:30creation will be nor Felucia and Trey Steve's team guys sub team lead anyone looking to be sub team
07:38leader I'll put myself forward as a sub team leader okay I think we'll use a probably a human character
07:43and I'm entirely flexible about what that human character is me in my mind I like a tomb raider
07:48kind of a strong female I think that's gonna work because I don't see many female characters but I
07:53think not just having a female fairy like somebody really strong I think a strong female character is
07:59a really good idea I just don't want them to go down the cliche route of making it all capes
08:04and
08:04weapons they've got to make her a really strong character I think the most important thing is that
08:09character it is a bit edgy but also a bit fun yeah great Sam I'd love to put myself forward
08:15for a sub
08:15team leader as the Arctic was your vision I think you'd be amazing with that character team with
08:21Verdi and Paul brilliant sounds good we're gonna win and I really believe in everyone in this team
08:28so healthy fun vibes let's get it let's do it 10 a.m. today half of each team will road
08:39test recipes I'm happy because two cereal winners
08:42yeah one winning cereal am i right stevie jokes getting worse yeah while the rest will build their
08:51brands I'm just a bit worried that we've got the wrong target market because it's six to eight year
08:56old age range I know that they resonate with kind of like human characters a lot more and they start
09:02to kind of go off animals a little bit yeah so I think that making it like a smart but
09:08like interesting
09:08polar bear yeah and the test kitchens to make your recipe you would want to aim for 100 grams total
09:19okay
09:20from experts in the science of crunch and slurp we recommend that you use a minimum of 50 grams for
09:28your base a
09:29briefing on the basics and then the flavors minimum 15 first on Steve's plate what we're thinking for
09:37the base I'm thinking hoops I think it's a really safe bet yeah serve up a cereal to fit his
09:43superhero
09:44theme probably the most important thing for me is it's not just a bland plain looking natural color
09:49so carrot might be a good idea doesn't taste too bad at all I don't like it I've tasted better
09:55things so
09:56this one is the raspberry one how does it taste well I really like the raspberry because I think
10:01that works right look right guys we need some decisions what we're doing okay all right let's
10:06go with raspberry let's try again what about raspberry hoops milk chocolate chips and then
10:11just a choice of fruit should we try with the apple that wouldn't be it's quite nice as well the
10:15apple and the chocolate chips I think we just need to lock it in now otherwise we're gonna be here
10:19all
10:19day I agree Steve is resting really on me and Rachel to pull him through I don't feel like he's
10:25taking leading decisions so guys for our 300 gram order we have 150 grams of hoops yeah 45 grams of
10:32raspberry flavor yeah 45 grams of the milk chocolate chips and 39 grams of the dried apple brilliant next
10:40door I think folders and we can make them like snowballs okay refining their recipe it's a passion
10:48fruit pineapple and banana is that what's going to be flow Phil and Sam the passion fruit we need to
10:54put 15
10:55grams of this in they recommend that we don't have I don't think you have to I think it's a
11:01strong
11:01recommendation I think we should probably follow strong recommendation I think we should do it to
11:04taste personally to taste I would do it to taste why don't we put a gram of passion fruit in
11:08there and
11:08see what it tastes like oh really for me even that feels a lot enough of a gram so this
11:16is two in total
11:17now give that a good mix they've been given some rough guidelines of what percentage of ingredients
11:25should be added together to make a cereal they've decided to ignore that advice I mean none of them
11:31have ever made a cereal before why do they think they know better than an expert sorry how many grams
11:36you put in their passion fruit about three it's fine it's not starving that's a better taste for kids
11:40okay in the West End so the polar bear character let's bring our vision to life set on a bear
11:50for
11:51their box I was thinking Arctic Prince okay I do like to play with the word Arctic Paul Verde and
11:58Maura let's get to the polar bear standing up straight okay and then a big part of the polar bear
12:06head is remembering guys he has a snout that looks good obviously there's going to be a t-shirt on
12:12rather than a t-shirt is it like some sort of like I actually like the t-shirt idea he
12:16definitely has
12:17something maybe a rope sack on think of any trousers then okay any trousers no I don't think trousers
12:23also maybe there's a crown maybe there's a crown on our polar bear yeah that looks really good
12:30the character could look a little bit better I just hope it's not too childish that's my only
12:35worry I think I'm happy yeah he looks like a polar bear to me next door do you guys have
12:47any ideas
12:48of any names so I was thinking Megabella tasked with creating a strong female superhero Megabella oh my
12:55god I love her Trey Felicia and no what color do you want to do the outfit so the outfit
13:02is gonna be
13:03be let me think um oh dear green um trying to think can we do the outfit the fit to
13:18be like a brownish I
13:19would stay away from brown because it won't stand out um maybe make that so the whole outfit is orange
13:26orange the orange isn't crazy what if we leave her in the orange and give her a red cape I
13:30know it's cliche but I think adding a cape is just gonna make her more like a super hero
13:35yeah yeah that's fine not super original probably in hindsight should have maybe had her hands on her hips or
13:42something that made it look more bold most self-assured so yeah it's okay what do you think about the
13:48final
13:48design do you know what I think she's finished which is the most important thing exactly leading invention
13:56company innovate design I thought maybe having a big bowl and then with a spoon brainstorming boxes
14:03right so looks like we've got character in for both project managers it's probably not exactly what I
14:10envisaged maybe something a bit edgier a first look at finished characters
14:20okay okay okay that's not awful I'm not sure what the crown what yeah what's the crown I personally
14:26would have liked us in it a bit more growing up looking you know kind of getting pepper pig
14:31vibes more sort of if my daughter saw that she would say that's like a princess polar bear yeah
14:41next challenge for Maura Verdi and Paul what if it's just this ordinary boy who's a polar bear
14:47an augmented reality concept and he's going on a journey as a prince to give their box a boost
14:56and along the way he kind of meets different people I'm gonna be honest I'm a bit worried that this
15:02may
15:02come across a little bit boring I really really think we should go with song and dance like he's
15:07dressed in a rucksack he's got a t-shirt on is he dressed to dance obviously I can body part
15:11and
15:12if I can I can make that look really entertaining on there I'd just be a little bit afraid but
15:16the
15:16song and dance we went we got it wrong with the ages and it went too babyish guys I'm happy
15:20to put
15:21my head on the line and take full responsibility if it backfires but I really really think we should
15:26go with song and dance let's do it man let's promise you I can do this okay I'm not gonna
15:30rule over
15:30two people on the other team so you're gonna get as animated as possible really get into the groove
15:39okay bringing Megabella to life for their box right guys ready let's rock out film acting novice nor
15:48let's do one take see how it looks hi I'm Megabella and welcome to my world all you have to
15:55do is
15:55collect all the gems gems okay all you have to do is collect all the gems for for yours so
16:05you need
16:05to exaggerate your movements like really exaggerate all you have to do is collect all the so we haven't
16:12got much time okay that gives you a mega super power really exaggerate do it again go again go
16:18again go again my prince and princesses it's time for your first dance getting into the groove it's
16:27the frozen snowman this is how it goes Paul the body-popping polar bear put your right elbow out then
16:36your left elbow out and swing side to side well done you're getting it perfect second dance now it's
16:43now time for the dancing penguin it's just simple one two one two one two so raise your hands and
16:53tap
16:53your feet that's it raise your hands and tap your feet whoa well done perfect last one is the slushie
17:02okay Paul in his element I'm in my element this is going to be the key to get us the
17:07win because
17:08this is absolutely amazing the body and the right arm it's a wrap nice on Paul smashed it on that
17:16one
17:19on the other half of the team can we get polar in in like kind of like a snowy in
17:25bubble yeah
17:27perfecting their arctic themed box for the crunch can we get it in like more of like a crunchy texture
17:34yeah flow Phil and Sam guys we happy look that reads conch or should we make it thinner Sam I
17:46think we should leave that there for now because we just don't have time sorry Peter can we make sure
17:50that this crunch is in the same size as polar I think it does the job are we happy with
17:55it or not
17:56uh um a bit more over like here no we just need to crack on okay I don't think Sam's
18:06being efficient
18:06enough with her decision-making that's if she's you know dilly-dalling over the small detail and we
18:11don't have time for the small detail that small detail comes at the end after you've got the basics of
18:15design in slightly to the left a bit everything everything slightly to the left of it yes next
18:24door are we able to kind of like superimpose some actual serial hoops powering through with their
18:31superhero cereal should we get that one that one and that one the three o's Rachel Raj and Steve so
18:39I think first of all uh the font can we make the border thicker on all the letters I wouldn't
18:44get
18:44into that I would say put the cut yeah put the color onto the packaging I would say get your
18:48character
18:48on there make it an orange pretty in orange all right fine Charlie please can we get a bowl up
18:53that
18:54one's okay up there got this one and it looks like apple as well so shrink the board and bring
19:00an angle
19:00please what I'm thinking is just having that upper half that looks weird that's fine I think like that
19:06yeah guys I think yeah I actually really like that working with Raj and Rachel it was difficult
19:15managing them particularly under time pressure everyone trying to get their views across but at
19:19the end of the day we've got what we've got Steve thoughts your project manager you get final say
19:23what you're thinking to be honest power hoops logo is not too bad I think the color is okay
19:29we can make this work for the other team can we get the logo on there and our little polar
19:36man deadline
19:38looming is there a way we can have him just coming from the corner like a slight diagonal focused on
19:45finer details Sam we definitely need to find a bowl and guys in the interest time I need I think
19:51this bowl idea
19:52it's great but I don't know if we've got time to deliver it I'm wondering if we change up slightly
19:57and just have passion fruit and banana that one on the left yeah that's it yeah I think we should
20:01do more like cartoony vibe oh we don't have time to decide okay the passion fruit make that a bit
20:06smaller maybe no I think we need to keep it for the space non chip oh no there you go
20:10and then can
20:11we level that crunch that's going up on a right angle that's it yeah like that okay guys that's
20:16you turn up when you send us to the prince seven p.m. Maura I absolutely love it high-tech
20:27boxes
20:28complete once they collect the gem it says the message enjoy your mega card prototype
20:34serial in production thank you very much Peter thank you tomorrow pitch to buyers
20:48seven a.m. let's get the box out so you guys can see what we're working with here for Steve's
20:53team
20:54there we go a first look at their finished brand I really like the power hoops because I feel like
21:02even the red it goes with the cape so yeah when we got the character through we were expecting something
21:07a little bit edgier okay we thought it was going to be maybe sort of stronger and a bit more
21:12exciting for
21:13a seven-year-old she has to look like a superhero so we're giving her like the square shape to
21:19me
21:19like the superhero with the cape when I said Tomb Raider I was thinking of somebody that was slightly
21:23leaner so she is looking a bit boxy across the hall right guys are you ready ready I know God
21:33I'm scared feeling the chill this is Polar Crunch project manager Sam
21:48my biggest concern really is do we know it's cereal by looking at that as soon as I see the
21:54fruit I'm
21:55like is it just fruit in there or is it actually cereal where we were struck some time on getting
22:01more text on we just thought let's get at least some fruit on there that's in the actual branding
22:06in the actual cereal I was just picturing a bowl and then maybe if you're doing healthy the fruit and
22:12the wheat or whatever in it that's the only thing there's no cereal on it you can't tell this cereal
22:20at
22:20all it looks like a fruit box so I'm worried that kids aren't gonna get that this is what they
22:25eat
22:25in the morning is cereal rather than just fruit all right guys shall we try it putting power hoops to
22:32the taste test good start good start Steve's team so much different flavors coming through it's got
22:50citrusy thing coming is a marshmallow the only flavor is a raspberry apple and chocolate I probably
22:56have had a little bit more chocolate chips I think for kids it might be too healthy tasting
23:02part of the reason for having the fruit in is to make sure that the adults are also happy I
23:08think
23:08this is virgin on probably not that great but the fact you got chocolates I think saves it
23:17for the other team a chance to chow down on polar crunch so it's the main flavor passion fruit or
23:25a banana so the balls themselves which are the main ingredient they're coated in passion fruit flavor
23:29um in terms of the flavor I'm not really getting that passion fruit coming across yeah we hardly put
23:36any in there we recommended for 100 grams of 15 grams we put three so it was a bit of
23:42a risk if I eat
23:43just the snowballs on its own I can't it doesn't scream passion fruit to me Phil was really really keen
23:52on
23:52not putting too much in yesterday and I feel like that's affected it so yeah I'm a bit concerned
23:58about that going into the pitch today what we'll sell it as is it's meant to be natural healthy and
24:05you still have the kick of the throat for Steve's superhero squad I have a mega super power I can
24:19control the adults and you can too the big reveal of their augmented reality box all you have to do
24:28is
24:28collect the gems so we click on things I couldn't see the point of the game she just stood there
24:43speaking gems appeared and disappeared I didn't see what was going on you feel like that because
24:48you weren't playing it if you're playing it you're looking for the gems and moving the screen around
24:53I think six to eight year olds they're a lot smarter than you think they are they're looking for
24:57something a bit more complex you know their immediate reaction is going to be this is probably too simple
25:03put your right elbow out then your left elbow out and swing side to side that's it well done you're
25:10getting it for the other team now it's time for the dancing penguin so raise your hands and tap your
25:17feet
25:17that's it well done a first look at dentist Paul's moves finally time for my favourite one the slushie
25:26raise your right arm well done that was amazing what do you think our people's sorry to put a damper
25:37on
25:37things a little bit I don't think we've hit the age demographic I don't think a six or eight year
25:42old would do that I think it's a bit childish I think I strongly disagree because I feel like at
25:46that age you kind of want to get off you want to jump around and you want to dance around
25:50and
25:50you're learning to do this kind of stuff I feel like we've really hit the age mark with this okay
25:55cool all the ladies here are cereal winners today we need a winning cereal let's go do it
26:0310 a.m. while half of each team seek out feedback on their cereal do you know what six to
26:10eight
26:10year olds are like very picky they're very picky the rest will prepare for the pitches when I tasted it
26:20it was quite hard to actually even have that passion fruit taste the whole 300 gram packaging we only had
26:25nine grams of passion fruit flavor okay and you know at the end of the day it's not what you're
26:31selling it's how you sell it she's had it London Zoo are we ready to taste the cereal the rest
26:40of Sam's
26:41team take the temperature of the target market the banana is really hard to chew I think it tastes very
26:58plain
26:59I feel like no taste shall we scan the QR code and see what happens do you like it yeah
27:16yeah I think it's
27:18silly I think it's for our smaller brother and sister smaller the younger also facing a focus group
27:29almost there power hoops what do you think of the game that superheroes smiling so I think it hit the
27:41series yummy I don't think it's that fun when you play it's just gonna be the same every time
27:51what do you think of the tea I I didn't really like it cuz like it wasn't that nice to
27:59flavor the
28:00flavors were so strong I thought they were gonna be a little bit lighter 2 p.m. hello before pitching
28:11their cereal they just said collectively it was way too many flavors for both teams when we
28:17showed them the AR everyone thought it was really funny silly a chance to chew over market research
28:24the taste they weren't too keen on there was one boy who said it was bland yeah based on yesterday
28:30you
28:31know I wanted to make sure that we did have enough of the passion through and I think we were
28:35in the
28:36end instead of doing it to the suggested amount we were doing it to taste weren't we so obviously we
28:42need to just be prepared that we might get that bland come up and just really push on the fact
28:46that we didn't want to add too much flavoring five p.m. arriving at both venues some of the
28:57industry's biggest buyers including Waitrose Asda and Okada thank you so much for coming first of all
29:06serving up polar crunch as you can see we've gone for an Arctic theme Sam's team we've specifically
29:17added to the fruits in so that you can see there's a fruity aspect of it so not only is
29:26this a really
29:27healthy breakfast and start to the day for the kids but it's also really fun for them because we have
29:34a
29:34special AR effect as well in West London serving up his cereal brand hi everybody thank you all for
29:44coming here today project manager Steve we're here today to introduce you to our brand new super pun
29:54intended cereal brand for kids power hoops hi everyone I'm Megabella it's a privilege to be here
30:04in front of you guys so I've traveled all this way to meet you guys obviously um and I'm so
30:17happy to be
30:18here guys introductions over teams have one hour to secure bulk orders from buyers we want kids in the
30:29school to be talking about this when they go home the black mom dad can you go and buy this
30:33for us
30:34while Verdi gets a bite if we were to do a trial we'd probably go for 3,500 units okay
30:41great in talks
30:43with market heavyweight Iceland so Lauren and Stuart I've got to say this first dentist Paul we've gone
30:50for an ice theme it's Iceland it seems like it's a partnership made in heaven what do you think
30:54well I think that's where the challenge starts looking at the packaging and looking at the product
31:01and tasting the product there's a disconnect the way I see it is that this could go global and I
31:06assure you this will be the best decision that you made today from the consumer research what didn't
31:12the children like yeah so it's interesting because the children thought actually it's a little bit on
31:18the blind side they definitely did still eat it and there was just one thing that really drawed through
31:23the kids too it was and our lovely arctic prince you make a very compelling argument the the challenge
31:29we have is that the product and the packaging so we they did not charge all thank you thank you
31:36as project manager I'm so passionate about this this product I think for Paul to turn around and say
31:41it's bland it was just like oh you might as well just shoot me it was over it was over
31:47then
31:49West London through the games they'll start to learn more about Megabella they'll find out her story
31:55while Steve struggles I just unfortunately don't see this character being inspiring bowling over buyers
32:03Felicia with the product it's a great product there's any other questions at all if we were to place an
32:10order mm-hmm we'd like to have a period where we would have exclusivity on the product is that
32:15something that you'd be prepared to do what kind of numbers would you be clean to drink ordering on
32:23we'd be looking at an order in excess of 200,000 units in the at this current stage we are
32:33in a
32:33position where we do want to know I'll just I'll just explain if you don't mind we'd love to speak
32:38to
32:38our boss and get straight back to you I mean a couple minutes thank you so much thank you thank
32:42you okay so you've spoken to Iceland and they're asking for exclusivity for around 200,000 orders
32:49Wow is that something you want to take does that mean we can't sell to anyone else today the first
32:54person you've spoken to yeah that suggests if the first person's made an exclusivity of 200,000
32:58God knows what we might believe on the table say 200,000 exclusivity for three months if you feel
33:04you can push it then obviously I do and but three month exclusivity feel at two that's who's just
33:09got it amazing thank you so much for bearing with us hi again that's something that's doable we are
33:15happy with 200,000 for three months exclusivity excellent amazing graduate thank you so much
33:20the exclusivity order great but by giving that they're now tied to it they can't negotiate with
33:28many others because no one wants to be second in this race they should have thought about it before
33:32sealing that deal but they agree to three months for 200,000 how does that sound to you that sounds
33:37amazing really really good on the other team when you try the polar crunch do you feel like it's
33:44something that would stand out within the shelves of waitrose no while Sam gets frosty feedback you've
33:51got a polar theme but tropical fruits and it just jars too much Phil Verde and Flo move in on
33:58a major
34:00player I actually got really excited about your name thank you I actually thought polar
34:04crunch was great thank you very much thank you but then you went for tropical flavors so you went
34:09from polar to tropical and that's where it started to lose it for me yeah the idea of icebergs in
34:14the
34:14milk you could have had so much fun with that I do take on board your sentiment in regard so
34:18that
34:18would have been better if them fruits were more connected so really what we wanted to see is if
34:22you're interested in taking the product and it's all what sort of numbers you'd be looking to do I've got
34:26to be
34:26honest I wouldn't be looking to place an order I genuinely think if you were to put that in front
34:30of customers I think they'd struggle to understand what the flavor is what the product is it would
34:34be really great to do something with you today just so you can come in at the ground level with
34:37this no I think not really Poundland is massive they got over 700 stores Phil was meant to leave
34:44that and it's so disappointing they put no orders in if we put in that position again rather than leaving
34:49it in their hands if they're saying they want nothing just saying what about 20,000 trial it out
34:52augmented reality is the next biggest thing yeah 30 minutes till sales must cease we like work on an
35:00exclusive basis as well with hands tied by their huge order so I guess it's a bit disappointing we
35:07couldn't have the product first so I think for us today it would be a no Steve pushes for a
35:12deal with
35:13a delay we love the name love the tagline I think it really stands out to kids so we'd pull
35:18it into our
35:19bigger stores or some of our best-selling ones at the minute how many stores would that be around 300
35:27and we should say that we've got a three-month exclusive sale order with a retailer are you guys
35:34comfortable to maybe wait three months and we can start from there in terms of an order that you guys
35:39might place no you wouldn't be willing to take an order now delivery in three months no is that a
35:45categoric no yes what's the kind of rationale behind that just so I understand what the kind
35:51of reluctance is because once you miss a lodge you lose customers thank you five minutes to go we
36:00want at least around a hundred thousand that's the mark we want to look at both teams somebody has
36:05placed a very big order to take an exclusive deal press for sales what numbers are we talking it's not
36:12it's not an option would you look around the lines of 10,000 orders can you guys see this at
36:16premier
36:17unfortunately it's gonna have to be a no could we start with an order of 2,000 yeah we'll agree
36:22on
36:22two there's no bowl there's no spoon there's no milk and so for us it'll be a no today trial
36:27it
36:27nothing to lose but everything to gain are we able to offer you some kind of trial and make an
36:32order
36:32today we would be delighted to work with you guys because you've tried so hard absolutely
36:39six p.m. hey guys welcome back trading over it was mixed feedback but I think we should all be
36:47really proud I think the sales have been really disappointing this afternoon and I really don't
36:51think we've done enough to win this task genuinely hand to my heart because I'm really pushed yeah if we
36:59end up in the boardroom tomorrow I do believe that Sam will be to blame because I would say it
37:04comes down
37:04to the the product and packaging tonight cereal sales will be totted up tomorrow crunch time
37:22you can go through to the boardroom now
37:42you can go through to the boardroom now
37:44so I sent you out to design a new cereal targeted at six to eight year olds so I think
37:54I'll start off with
37:56Supreme naturally I felt passionate about the product with it being children related being among myself so
38:04what's in this stuff then so it's a passion fruit boulders with pineapple chunks and banana chips
38:13bananas and pineapple in the Arctic yeah seems like global warming is really kicking in
38:20where's the synergy yeah main reason being I wanted to keep it quite neutral but also kind of doing like
38:27icy colors and and and flavors that kids are going to like as well
38:32right and Phil yes the chef was saying that you needed to use about 45 grams and you chose to
38:40only
38:40use nine what was the reason for that so with the flavoring when we did our sample batch it was
38:47quite
38:47obvious to me that was far too much of what we needed so kind of convinced the girls just to
38:51do it to
38:51taste problem is it tasted a bit bland didn't it I think I think it was okay yeah you're gonna
38:59try it
39:00No I don't blame you you're not missing much
39:07now so you were in in charge of designing the box also yeah yeah yeah so where is the picture
39:13of the cereal
39:15we did have a bit of time wasted which meant that at the end it was just a real push
39:20for getting it's a fruit symbol
39:22on there rather than just whacking about one I think that's one problem that we did have I'm walking
39:27down the shelves of a supermarket and I don't know what that is I've got a bear that looks like
39:35he's pissed
39:37uh I guess that you realized he had no trousers at one stage so you decided to wrap him wrap
39:44him round
39:44yeah right so now we got Maura Verdi and Paul uh you go off to develop the character is that
39:54right yeah
39:55Lord Sugar so Spielberg yes you must have thought better keep out of this yeah really from your past successes
40:04um actually when it came to actually you might have hit an iceberg here really yeah I think I'm quite
40:10proud of the directing I did do with the AR I must say Lord Sugar that Verdi did good do
40:15a good job with
40:15directing you did the dance didn't you Paul I did I think okay should we try this thing let's see
40:21if it
40:22works so my prince and princesses it's time for your first dance the frozen snowman this is how it goes
40:30put
40:31your right elbow out then your left elbow out and swing side to side side to side now move your
40:38feet
40:38side to side that's it you've got it move your feet side to side well done you're getting it I
40:45think any
40:45street credibility I had went with that video I think you're right kids quite liked it though didn't
40:50they which was the yeah which was the most important right how many of your buyers did buy I sold
40:56one and
40:57then flows sold to two retailers all right so there's three right okay right let's move over to this other
41:05team Nexus yeah who came up with the name power hoops that was me right I'm saying with fuel your
41:10power or
41:11fuel your superpower your power isn't that a Viagra strap it may be I might not know anything about
41:18that right anyway from what I can understand Steve you were somewhat indecisive throughout this task
41:29I think it's important to actually gather information speak to your team let them have an opinion and then
41:35come to a decision that simple idea like I said did he keep changing his mind all the time just
41:40going back
41:40to the kitchen you were indecisive and there was a lot of I don't like this I don't like this
41:44but
41:44there was just no moving forward and there was no solution so it's like Raj and I both had to
41:50kind
41:50of push towards moving forward from that I don't think I ever like taking action I think that's wrong
41:54right um this is your bowl of cereal here which is not too bad there's no question of you know
42:02that's a
42:03cereal she looks a bit surprised this woman here that would be Megabella Megabella sounds like a nightclub
42:09in Marbella so let's have a look at this thing shall we
42:17hi I'm Megabella and welcome to my world I have a mega superpower I can control the adults and you
42:27can too
42:28all you have to do all you have to do is collect the gems good luck and enjoy your mega
42:34game hmm well
42:37it's not a bad idea I suppose whether the kid would get bored with it after a while you know
42:42first day
42:43it might be a bit of a novelty second day it's like done that so you you spoke to the
42:49eight retailers
42:51what did you do we split up into our sub teams to speak to the retailers solution or and Raj
42:56you
42:57dealt with Iceland yeah they straight away said look if we would love exclusivity on it they gave
43:02us the option I said I wanted to speak to my boss which is Steve so we had a team
43:07with a boss what
43:07did you have to say um do it without question because I thought I thought it was a fair offer
43:12right so what happened then so we because I suppose when you started talking to other people that had an
43:18interest and you had to say to them uh now sorry mate um someone's bought them all exclusive exclusively
43:25they're a bit of a bloody risk no it was what I really impacted us after that yeah hmm um
43:31right
43:31well um let's see how we got on Tim can you tell me how your team did with retailers well
43:37the total orders that they walked away with from one client was 200,000 units Karen exactly the same
43:45thing well um Alan as you know they got orders from three retailers uh they secured only 7,500
43:54orders wow that's quite amazing really took a big risk with that exclusive deal calculated risk but
44:02I'm glad it paid off well um well done not often we see uh orders of that size here so
44:10you're going
44:11from whole grains to uh fairground games so I'm sending you to a high-end carnival themed arcade where
44:20you'll find your own inner child if you like yeah so have fun and I'll see you on the next
44:25task
44:37well lost again Supreme Phil Verde both of you six out of six now so I can honestly say you're
44:49serial losers yeah anyway you're going to go out you're going to have a chat amongst yourself you're
44:56going to come back in here and one of you is going to be cheerios off you go
45:06yes guys looking forward to this yeah aim for the milk the cereal milk that's it obviously in the
45:16boardroom there was a bit of critique of my project management style I do truly believe in this task
45:21it was right to give everyone a bit of a voice I won I won I'm first place so mad
45:28I definitely didn't
45:29think we'd run this task however Felicia absolutely smashed it got the big unit order so really happy
45:34hey four out of five guys it was incredible being able to get such high numbers really proud of myself
45:41of pushing myself out of my comfort zone and smashing that deal team nexus all the way
45:50I think the flavoring was slightly too low which it did impact the taste the flavoring
45:57and that decision to make it that low was your decision I think there's a lot of mistakes being
46:02made on this task and I can't see how I'm being held responsible for making any of them with ours
46:07it didn't seem that clear that it was serious the fruit thing it was meant to be about you know
46:11five
46:12a day I can understand that but we didn't have anything else on it overall it does come down to
46:17the
46:17branding not telling the obvious story that it was cereal so I really do think unfortunately it is down
46:21to Sam the character seemed quite young what we created with a or and got us even the investment
46:28that we did get like I can't fault that day at all to be honest the failure of this task
46:33falls on the
46:34branding team there's no cereal bowl you couldn't really even tell that it was a cereal box
46:47yes could you send the camera I just want to let you know something what we did afterwards was to
47:06go
47:06around and check with the other customers as to what they would have ordered if the exclusivity deal
47:14that they pulled off didn't work and it came to sixty thousand five hundred units so I just want to
47:21get it out your head that they were lucky they would have still romped home so when you look at
47:29it
47:29it's it's very beige beige you know it's just boring I think there was a cereal once called all brown
47:39yours is all bland I think anyway answer me about where is the link between the Arctic and the tropic
47:46fruits I didn't really think about the link if I'm honest the other options were clearly didn't think
47:52yeah I do think it was a right idea and I think if we played more and with the branding
47:57using snowflakes
47:58and you know like that frozen bowl and to just tell the story a little bit more one of the
48:05things
48:05that we're talking about a six to eight years old is that they don't like to be treated as six
48:11to eight
48:11year olds and your dancing thing was really two to four year olds on the morning meeting of the second
48:19day I was I've got a nine-year-old I did say in front of everyone I did think that
48:26the character
48:26and the video was aimed more towards Sam's kind of child's ages everyone disagreed not my stance on
48:34that was look let's wait and see what the consumer research is I do back it the dance I know
48:38you took
48:39the risk on it but I do feel like it was a lot it was unfortunately for you the retailers
48:43didn't back
48:43no I mean we've always heard this expression from all you young people I'm thinking outside the box
48:52in this particular case you have to think about what's in the bloody box basically we're advised
48:58that you normally use 15 grams per 100 grams so therefore you needed 45 grams you put nine in
49:05that's right yeah well no wonder it didn't taste of anything I took the responsibility to make sure
49:09our product was more palatable and I will take responsibility for that decision without doubt
49:13you know it's just all a bit misaligned um we obviously did run out of time okay talking about
49:18running out of time we're running out of time here who are you bringing back in this boardroom
49:23obviously from the branding point of view I'll be bringing back Phil um purely just because I feel
49:29he was quite destructive it's hard I really don't know I really can't pinpoint a second person
49:36I mean just from the point of being sub-team leader and it just being the arctic theme and
49:42and you've been in charge of the character as well just from that point of view as well I'll probably
49:45bring more back as well even though I did exactly what you asked me to do I can't honestly I
49:51can't
49:51make up my mind without just from a business pure business point of view for me Sam just because
49:56we run out of time you bring me back I just think let's not argue about it now right um
50:02so you two
50:04chaps go back to the house and Flo also
50:13you three step outside I'm going to talk to Karen and uh Tim and then I'm going to call you
50:19back in
50:20we're going to have a final chat and uh decide which one of you is going to be leaving the
50:25process today
50:34okay so Karen give me some opinion here Sam what do you think so you've got terrible brand and a
50:41terrible
50:41product um you've got to look at the project manager hmm yeah and Maura Maura's responsible for the
50:48character all the retailers felt was too young for the target market and that was a big mistake Phil
50:53what do you got to say about him well look my biggest complaint about Phil is that he decided
51:00to go against the expert advice and use such little flavoring that the product was completely tasteless
51:07okay well interesting
51:11can you send the three candidates in please
51:29Phil tell me I mean I'm sorry to keep rubbing it in that's fine
51:32but you've been sitting here uh for six weeks and you've lost six times why let's send in a message
51:40there's not one person who has ever said I am responsible for the failure of this task in six
51:44weeks I'm absolutely not a disruptor I understand you wanted to be project manager in this task and I
51:49feel like from the offset you knew you wanted what you wanted to do and it was hard for me
51:54to manage
51:55you that's what it boiled down to and it wasted a lot of time and I feel like that was
51:58a massive
51:59contributor to not adding what we needed on the packaging I feel as if I was being very respectful
52:03and trying to do as you asked me but you are giving me a response you are just a bit
52:06of control
52:06you think I'm a disruptor yeah I do think you think that message has come across yeah Maura let me
52:13ask
52:13you a question the main theme of this task was based upon the Arctic right yeah why weren't you the
52:20project manager then because someone with children I felt will be a bit better at it because I don't have
52:24children I also feel that it's a little bit of a scapegoat to say that you know you went with
52:29my
52:29idea Sam in hindsight yeah I shouldn't I shouldn't have let Verdi direct I shouldn't have went with
52:36the dance but I trusted in Paul when he said the dance was absolutely rateable to that age so I
52:41do
52:42feel okay take a breath what do I didn't use you as a scapegoat for one the reason I did
52:47make the
52:47decision in the end purely based off the fact that you were sub team leader and there were a lot
52:52of
52:52comments about the character not being suitable to age that that's just it was as simple as that
52:57hmm so um who do you think should be fired then Sam from my point of view I would say
53:06Phil um purely
53:07because he's had a lot of opportunities to prove himself and he still hasn't and I think that's just
53:12a fair comment Phil what do you got to say about that I've worked with six different teams and six
53:16different tasks and not one person has ever said I'm the failure of the task the reason I am here
53:21someone has now yes I'm strong and I'm assertive but I'm trying to take risks I'm trying to make
53:26decisions that will help the team win the task I'm not just trying to she should be fired then
53:30unfortunately Sam should be fired because I don't think she should be fired I'm just on this task
53:36unfortunately it's Sam just because there was no cereal bowl on the box but the reason I didn't get
53:40the cereal box on there is because I did feel disrupted and I'm not I don't doubt for a second
53:45that you're trying to do it for some what have you took responsibility for positively on this task
53:49look I've had enough uh I'm gonna summarize now um and well in doing so I don't want to hear
53:56any more
53:56from anybody um Sam the buyers all said that the product would not stand out on a supermarket shelf
54:05that's why they didn't buy any um Phil when it came to the flavor it's very simple didn't have any
54:13responsibility and that's on you Maura you were responsible for the character and it was too young
54:20and that is firmly your responsibility Phil you know I can't get over the fact that somebody has
54:29fouled so much in in this process and for that reason Phil you know I've got to seriously think
54:37about your position in this process Sam I admire your honesty and I can tell that you know you get
54:48on with everyone and that's that is a good virtue in business however the kids found the cereal boring
54:58and bland so it is with sincere regret that you're fired thank you no sugar go over to the two
55:08babies
55:09all right make sure you come around for a cuppa so Maura I haven't seen much from you please give
55:26me the
55:26opportunity to be would you be quiet sorry I don't know you Samora you are gonna be the next project
55:38manager of the next task thank you no matter what it is thank you okay go back to the house
55:44you two
55:46you're gonna be the luckiest man on this earth I'm telling you
56:02I was completely nuttling myself throughout the whole process and Lord Sugar saw that his comments at the end
56:08meant more to me than anything and I completely went out on a high and I get to go home
56:12to my babies now
56:14I do feel that Sam will come back with Phil obviously we've got to remember he is on six losses
56:23as
56:23well so Lord Sugar will put that in mind but he's a fighter so I wouldn't be surprised if he
56:28comes back
56:42I need to hear this story yeah intense in very intense as usual yeah such such a shame to see
56:48Sam go
56:48but he did look at me as I left and he went you are the luckiest man on this planet
56:53yeah but before he did that he was like Maura I don't really know you your project manager on the
57:00next task I think we're all we're all at risk of one step up and you know you're gone
57:10now 11 candidates remain the fight to become Lord Sugar's next business partner continues
57:20next time your task is to set up a bespoke tour tour guides you can take a sip let's just
57:28take a moment
57:29to feel the earth fun rides and in the boardroom you were dead in the danube a one-way ticket
57:39you're fired
58:03next time
58:05you
58:06you
