00:00Good evening, I'm Tom Allen. Welcome to the final of The Apprentice.
00:04Over the last 12 weeks, we've watched this year's 18 candidates negotiate, create, pitch and sell their socks off
00:11and then try and sell those socks for a profit, as they competed for television's most prestigious prize,
00:16Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment and the opportunity to be his partner in business.
00:23So join me back here in an hour for Your Hired, when I'll be welcoming the two final candidates
00:28and Karen Brady, Tim Campbell and, of course, Lord Sugar will be my very special guests.
00:34But for now, settle down and enjoy Marnie versus Rochelle in the final of The Apprentice.
00:41This remains the toughest job interview around.
00:46Lord Sugar's on the hunt for a brand new business partner.
00:49There's no VAR in here. I make the final decision.
00:53Fighting it out for his funding, 18 ambitious entrepreneurs.
00:57Move, move, move. Let's go, let's go.
01:00All right, it's down there.
01:01It's a deal worth fighting for.
01:05That's too much. Can we please listen?
01:07Abby, cheer ya, come on in.
01:0918 candidates.
01:11I've had enough.
01:12It was like this all day.
01:1412 tough weeks.
01:16If I wanted an easy life, I'd turn the whole bloody lot of your home now.
01:19One life-changing opportunity.
01:22You're fired. You're fired.
01:24It's a total disgrace.
01:25You're fired.
01:35Previously...
01:35It's time to find out whether your business plans stack up.
01:40Candidates were cross-examined...
01:42There's something in this business plan that's put me in a really bad mood.
01:45I have seen thousands of business plans.
01:48Your one is about as crazy as it gets.
01:50Do you really think that's a proven model of success?
01:53I seriously doubt that.
01:56Proposals picked apart.
01:58What you've got in your business plan is zero stock.
02:01That was a mistake.
02:02A mistake? It's not credible.
02:04It's a pipe dream. It's a fairy tale.
02:06It's unrealistic and it's unachievable.
02:09In the boardroom, judgment day.
02:11The thing is, Victoria, there is nothing unique about your business.
02:16Victoria's sweets company turned sour.
02:18So it is with regret, Victoria.
02:21You're fired.
02:22Danny's hair extension business didn't cut it.
02:25I'm not sure there's going to be any extension to your time in this process.
02:29Danny, you're fired.
02:31And Megan's dessert company fell flat.
02:33My gut feeling tells me, Megan, you're fired.
02:37Now Rochelle and Marnie go head to head.
02:39I can't believe it.
02:41We're in the final.
02:42Who will win Lord Sugar's investment?
02:516 a.m.
02:56Hello?
02:57Good morning.
02:58Lord Sugar would like to meet you at Freemasons Hall in central London.
03:01The cards will be outside in 20 minutes.
03:04For the finalists.
03:06Freemasons Hall.
03:07Oh, God.
03:08One last task.
03:13Winning this process would mean the world to me.
03:16It would change everything in my life.
03:19And it is the stuff that dreams are made of.
03:22I am in the final of The Apprentice.
03:25This is unreal.
03:26And to get here to this point just means absolutely everything to myself
03:31and also to my family.
03:45In the West End of London.
03:49Freemasons Hall.
03:50Good morning, ladies.
04:09Good morning, Lord Sugar.
04:11Welcome to Freemasons Hall.
04:14For centuries, Freemasons have been proud to practice their shared values
04:19of integrity, friendship and respect.
04:23At the end of this process, I would like a business partner
04:26that shares those same values.
04:29Now, only one of you can receive my £250,000 investment.
04:34And this is your last opportunity to convince me that that person should be you.
04:40So, for your final task, I'd like you to launch your new business.
04:46You need to create a new brand for your company,
04:49produce a digital billboard and a television advert.
04:54In a few days' time, you're going to pitch your new business.
04:57Afterwards, we'll meet in the boardroom where one of you will become my business partner.
05:03So, there's a lot to do, and I've arranged some help.
05:22Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
05:24So, I'm going to toss a coin now.
05:26Rochelle, heads or tails?
05:28Tails.
05:30Tails it is.
05:30So, you go first.
05:31I need my hair queen, Dani.
05:35Love you.
05:37Mouni.
05:38Sahel, you're a fighter too.
05:39Come over here.
05:42Rochelle.
05:43Victoria, my glamour queen.
05:45Come on over.
05:46You look like real.
05:48Simba, you know I need you.
05:53Abby.
05:56Megan.
05:57Megan.
06:00Brad, Joe, I honestly can't pick between you two, but...
06:04You're not marrying him.
06:05Come on, hurry up.
06:07I'm going to go with Joe for your creative juices.
06:10Well, last but not least, over to Marnie.
06:17So, you've been back at school doing PE.
06:19I was about to pick you anyway.
06:21Now, Marnie, boxing gyms are a really crowded market.
06:25So, you need to prove to me that your new business will stand out in the marketplace.
06:31And Rochelle, you have your hair salon.
06:34I will need convincing that this is a scalable business.
06:38So, everything clear?
06:40Yes, no sugar.
06:41Good luck, and I'll see you in a few days' time.
06:44Three days to prove that plans on paper can be turned into viable start-ups.
06:52Good morning, everybody.
06:54Thank you so much for coming back.
06:56Preparing for the fight of her life.
06:58So, I am trying to take boxing classes and boxing gyms to the masses.
07:03Court advocate Marnie.
07:06I have secured my first premises, so I am looking for his investment in order to secure a second premises.
07:13So, what's the overall message of the brand?
07:15Are we pulling on people's heartstrings?
07:17What's your vision?
07:18Well, boxing has single-handedly changed my life.
07:21Even down to my career in law was through meeting someone in the boxing gym and shadowing her at a trial and then deciding to become a barrister.
07:28So, I owe so much to boxing, and I really believe that if everybody could get a taste of that, they would get the same benefits.
07:36So, I think the USP is that your life begins at boxing.
07:40So, it's not boxing just to look good, it's boxing to feel good.
07:44I'm not selling fitness, guys. I'm selling feelings.
07:48Across the hall...
07:49I have had a salon for the past ten years, targeted mainly at women.
07:53Running her team through a fresh approach to hair.
07:56My whole ethos behind the brand is that I can do all hair types.
07:59Rochelle.
08:00So, for, like, this task, essentially, do you want to focus on the salon or do you want to focus on the academy?
08:07So, it is a salon and academy.
08:09So, what we do is we offer the training online, but we also have a facility where it is people can come and get their hair done there as well.
08:16When she enters the salon, she leaves a whole new vibe.
08:19She's, you know, full of confidence, and that's exactly what I want to portray.
08:23I want it classy, I want it simple, I want it stylistic with pinks, blacks and whites, and kind of like a pale pink, baby pink, that kind of tone.
08:31Nothing too vibrant like a hot pink or magenta.
08:34Brilliant.
08:35Okay.
08:35Cool.
08:36I like that.
08:36I want something that's punchy and something that really denotes power, strength, oomph.
08:45Brainstorming a name for her boxing business.
08:47Like, grit.
08:49And I know that's an unusual word, but it really does stand out.
08:52Marnie.
08:54I'm thinking of, like, a fist forward with the name written across the knuckles.
09:03Something along those lines.
09:05One thing that maybe is a worry, it could maybe look like a bare-knuckle boxing club.
09:09Mm.
09:10With no glove on there.
09:11That's exactly what I thought I thought I would expect a glove.
09:14So I really want to do something that's, like, stand-alone, and I know we're at risk of people looking at it and going,
09:19is it a boxing gym, is it not?
09:20But I think that would just add to their curiosity.
09:22I understand in terms of what you're in a vision you're trying to go through as well.
09:25Obviously, something as simple as the blue corner, if that makes sense, or ding-ding, or boxanticity, or something like that.
09:31I think reading it, it would look difficult, and it's quite long-winded.
09:35So, raw boxing, what do you think about that?
09:37I like raw, but I think it's been done.
09:42Seeking suggestions for her brand.
09:44What about Coco Milano?
09:46Yeah, I don't know.
09:48Hair salon owner, Rochelle.
09:49I've got three suggestions of names.
09:52Yes.
09:52Colorex, Diversary, and The Hair Team.
09:57Okay.
09:58Yeah, no, Colorex.
10:00Yeah.
10:01What was the other one?
10:02Diversary.
10:03What does that mean?
10:04If you want to cut different types of people's hair, and you want to teach people, it's like, this is the shop to do that.
10:10Everyone.
10:11Yeah.
10:11Yeah, I don't know if you like that.
10:13Cutting edge, because this...
10:15That's probably been done before.
10:16Has it?
10:17Yeah, there's a lot of salons that are called Cutting Edge.
10:22Myself and Brad will start with doing the logo and the brand.
10:25I think it's important that I stay there and really understand what our brand is.
10:29Next, for boxing buff Marnie.
10:32I'm going to send Sahail, Simba, and Megan over to do the digital billboard.
10:39Simba, I'd like you to star in it.
10:42Okay.
10:43I want it to be quite editorial, quite arty, quite standout.
10:47Really focus on emotions, focus on it becoming someone's story.
10:50Be creative.
10:51Okay?
10:52Is everybody happy?
10:53Does everybody understand and see my vision?
10:55Yeah, I think we definitely understand your vision.
10:58Definitely, I think.
11:01Okay, so go make me proud, team.
11:02We will.
11:03We will.
11:04Let's do it.
11:05Midday.
11:09While half of each team head off to create digital billboards.
11:13Do you know what?
11:14It actually feels so good to be back here for Rochelle.
11:16I just can't wait to see her smash it.
11:18The finalists will build brands.
11:21What I'm going to do is I'm going to give you a little bit of tough love today
11:23to try and prepare you for going into the pitch.
11:26If I pick up on things, the experts will definitely pick up on things.
11:29Brad, that is exactly what I need.
11:31Hit me with the tough love.
11:32East London.
11:37Hi there.
11:38Hi.
11:38My name's The Hell.
11:39I'm Simba.
11:40And I'm Megan.
11:41Nice to meet you.
11:42Location for both digital teams, Cherry Duck Studios.
11:46I'm going to be sat in the chair all sad.
11:48The cape's going to come up and over.
11:50First job for Danny, Victoria and Avi.
11:52My hair's going to be flicked down, yeah?
11:55Sunglasses on.
11:56I'm feeling confident like a new woman.
11:58A digital ad to help Rochelle's hair brand shine.
12:02Okay, up, two seconds, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow.
12:05Off.
12:07Very good.
12:09Out.
12:11How many seconds is that?
12:13Probably about 15 seconds or so.
12:14So we're going to do 10 seconds.
12:16We need to be just quick on.
12:17It's just quick on.
12:18Everything.
12:18Yeah, okay.
12:19Action.
12:20Go.
12:21Two seconds, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow, slow.
12:24Okay, up.
12:26Hey, you shouldn't have seen at the end.
12:27Yeah, because it needs to be falling off.
12:28Okay, again.
12:29Okay, let's go, quick on.
12:30Action.
12:31I think we had a total panic trying to cut that video down, so I'm really hoping that
12:38she likes what we've created for her.
12:40There's a lot riding on this one.
12:42Sad, sad, sad.
12:44Yes, Danny.
12:45One, two, off.
12:50Out.
12:50Brilliant.
12:51On the other team.
12:55They should be sat like this.
12:57Getting her mitts on Marnie's digital billboard.
13:00Steps up.
13:01Bang.
13:02I think it's a bit sexier.
13:03First time director, Megan.
13:06Action.
13:09Yeah, that's good.
13:10Okay, that's good.
13:11I think you need to give him a bit more direction on how to look more like a boxer.
13:15Come up.
13:15Look at your gloves, maybe, for a second, yeah?
13:17Look at your gloves.
13:18Tap them.
13:18Give a smile.
13:20Yeah, I would go on a side a bit more.
13:22So, one second.
13:23It doesn't look natural.
13:24All right.
13:24So, you're over here.
13:25Picked up the gloves.
13:26Gloves on.
13:26Gloves on.
13:27Okay.
13:27Tap on there.
13:28Give it a smile.
13:29Am I looking at you?
13:29You're looking at the camera.
13:30He looks really good doing it.
13:32So, you do it then?
13:33You look really good doing it.
13:34Just do it for me one more time.
13:37Marnie was really clear that she didn't want her digital billboard to focus just on the
13:42boxing.
13:42It was all about the emotion.
13:44And what have they done?
13:45They focused just on the boxing.
13:47I don't think she's going to be very happy.
13:49Yeah.
13:50Him?
13:51Yeah.
13:54Midday.
13:56Creative agency, Isabel.
13:58By Rochelle.
13:59It adds that personality to it.
14:01Yeah.
14:01For Rochelle, brand name nailed.
14:05The signature itself, are we moving away from black?
14:09I want the darkest shade of brown because that almost looks black.
14:13Can we change the salon and the academy bit to the palest nude, please?
14:18We might even need to go a tiny bit nude art.
14:21What?
14:21You want it more nude?
14:23Like the same color as the background?
14:24The lightest nude.
14:25All the way up to the top.
14:25The lightest?
14:26Yeah.
14:26The only thing I would say is, can you read the salon and academy?
14:30But do we want to try it in a different color to make it stand out more?
14:34Let's try it in brown.
14:36Rochelle has spent a lot of time debating the finer details of the logo.
14:41But the problem is, everything she's come up with is very bland.
14:45Does that say what it is?
14:48Yeah.
14:49Yeah?
14:49Yeah.
14:50Salon plus academy.
14:53Rochelle, that's you.
14:55Confidence once at a time.
14:57Okay.
14:58It's got everything you need.
15:01Next door.
15:02What about grit and glory?
15:04Still sparring over her boxing brand.
15:06With grit comes glory, where you start your story.
15:10That's it.
15:11Marnie.
15:12So we've got the fists.
15:14What you've got there with a fist, is that definitely the route you want to go down?
15:18I think it's fine like that.
15:22Let's try an orange color.
15:24Yeah.
15:25Let's put grit and glory in there.
15:27Perfect.
15:28That's exactly what I'm looking for.
15:30Just as a quick one, just to visualize, can you just select all the black and just change it to white?
15:34Yeah.
15:34Please.
15:35I like it in black.
15:37Yeah.
15:37Can we just edit and do?
15:39Yeah.
15:39Why don't we just try a white background with orange?
15:44I really like the color as it is.
15:46I like the black.
15:47I like the orange.
15:48So I'm really happy to keep it with that.
15:50I just want to focus, make sure all our placement is good.
15:53Marnie said that she wanted to avoid the spit and sawdust style gyms.
15:57And then she's gone and produced a logo that's very spit and sawdust to me.
16:01I'm very happy with the logo.
16:04I'm very happy with the name.
16:05I'm happy.
16:095pm at creative agency Atomic.
16:14What about that number two, if we grow up?
16:16What do you guys think of that?
16:17While Danny, Victoria and Abby battle over the backdrop for their billboard.
16:21Honestly, I just think it's so, like, old school salon.
16:26For the other team.
16:27I'm nervous.
16:29Mm.
16:30Marnie found a logo.
16:32The big reveal of Marnie's brand.
16:35Oh, OK.
16:36Grit and glory boxing.
16:38I just think the fist doesn't go with boxing.
16:42I think a glove would have been better, because you wear gloves in boxing.
16:45This reminds you of, like, a muscle kind of gym, if that makes sense.
16:48It's not screaming to me the mid-range, nice boxing gym that she wanted to go for.
16:54Mm.
16:55Which is a shame.
16:55Nevertheless, I think this is what we've got.
16:58I don't understand why she's done the double fists.
17:01I think it looks a little bit more like a logo for a martial arts brand.
17:05Nice.
17:08That's perfect, yeah.
17:09Grit.
17:12Running behind on their billboard.
17:14How about that'll just be a plain background?
17:17Abby, Victoria and Danny.
17:19This is...
17:19Do you do that?
17:19I'm stressing out now, because we literally have got no time.
17:22Why don't we put the logo on?
17:24OK, yeah, let's put that down a little bit more so you can see the whole thing.
17:27Yeah.
17:28Leave the logo there the whole time.
17:30No, on the other side, because she's going to walk off that way.
17:33She's going to walk off that way.
17:35OK, so there.
17:36Can we see it?
17:36Can we see how it would look, please?
17:38Just as it is.
17:39And then, yeah.
17:41Right?
17:41So the look, yeah.
17:43Oh, my God, it's literally terrible.
17:44The looking for...
17:45It's terrible.
17:46Out of ten, I'll give this six out of ten.
17:48I was going to say six as well.
17:49It's not brilliant, but it's average.
17:566 p.m.
17:58All right, it's done.
17:59Well done, everyone.
18:01Screens signed off.
18:02Thank you so much for your time, Andy.
18:04Thank you, Andy.
18:05Logos locked down.
18:07See you later.
18:08Thank you, bye.
18:09For both teams, back to the house.
18:188 a.m.
18:19Morning, everyone.
18:21How is everybody today?
18:23Brilliant.
18:23Good.
18:24For Marnie.
18:26So, I am dying to know how yesterday went.
18:30Let's have a quick look.
18:30Yeah.
18:31A first peek at her digital billboard.
18:39OK, so that's what we've come up with.
18:41What are your thoughts?
18:42Well, first of all, I don't see any emotion coming through.
18:46And that was one thing that I was really hard on seeing.
18:51It feels a bit like every other boxing billboard, if I'm honest.
18:57It was really hard to try and get all of, like, the different conflicted emotions within, like, seven seconds.
19:04Yeah.
19:04Yeah.
19:05They should have pushed emotion.
19:07They should have given it their heart, their grit.
19:09And that really did not come through, which I'm very disappointed about.
19:13I just think it's a lost opportunity.
19:18Next door.
19:19Guys, I'm dying to see it.
19:22Let's have a look.
19:24First chance to see Rochelle's brand brought to life.
19:30So, yeah.
19:32It would have been nice if there was a little bit more going on.
19:34But what that does is it doesn't distract from the hair.
19:37I was, like, really upset, though, that we didn't get the text on for you.
19:40Because the fact that you do all hair types should be something that's on there.
19:43And I just am so sorry.
19:45I'll be honest, because it was so time-constrained, it was between the logo and the text.
19:52So, I think the billboard's fantastic in showing confidence.
19:55Come into our salon and leave feeling confident.
19:58But it doesn't showcase the diversity and we can take any hair and transform it.
20:03I think the hairbrush flick is cool.
20:05But just the way the green screen works, it blurs it a bit.
20:08Just think if something they might say is, what was that at the end?
20:15So, you two are going to be in a shipping container, stressed, in despair.
20:20Today, both teams will shoot TV ads.
20:22Then a glimmer of light comes through the shipping container.
20:25You look up, you start to feel impassioned, you start to feel hope.
20:29To promote proposed businesses.
20:32It's about showing the emotion with glimmers of boxing.
20:35Also, Simba, I've written you a rap again.
20:37I want it, like, spoken word, but with flow.
20:39So, not like, when you look at, you know, like, when you look in the mirror, what do you see?
20:45When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
20:47If I put you in gloves, who could you be?
20:50That's good, but, Simba, a little bit less eloquent.
20:53Wait, what about you?
20:54So, we could try that, we could try that.
20:56But I know what you're going for.
20:57I really would like Simba's voices with such a distinct voice.
21:02I do really want to get across the message that we do all hair time, so I have to be showcased.
21:06Talking the team through her hair ad.
21:08Because I am, obviously, a woman of colour.
21:11Avi, I'm going to stop you at night.
21:12You're going to be on the branding team now.
21:14Rochelle.
21:14So, it's going to be me and Victoria, and it's going to just be focusing on the back of our hair.
21:19So, it's us, like, looking at each other, smiling, giggling.
21:22Then the next is a brush, so it's the hair getting, like, brushed out to show, like, look, it's smooth, it's soft, it's shiny.
21:27Then they have a shopping cart.
21:28So, I'm going to have Victoria in the shopping cart, and I'm going to be spinning it around in slow-mo.
21:32Your hair's going to be, like...
21:34It's that whole cinematic epicness of hair.
21:40Let the hair do the talking.
21:42Love it.
21:449am.
21:47Teams to buy.
21:51So, Marnie made it very, very clear.
21:53She wanted emotion, emotion, emotion.
21:56She has put a lot of pressure on us, and she has got very high expectations.
22:00At the end of the day, we're not professional actors, so we can only do our best.
22:07South East London.
22:09At Rochelle's ad location...
22:11Turning over.
22:12Cameras at speed.
22:13Action.
22:14Right, we're going to swish your hair side to side.
22:18But keep movement, Victoria, yeah?
22:19Wrestle for control.
22:21Perfect.
22:22And cut.
22:23I don't want too much of her face.
22:24No, not too much of her.
22:25I don't want it to be about the hair, but I do like that.
22:27I think you should start in and then pan back.
22:30Starting and then pull out.
22:31Yeah.
22:31I would like it a bit more serious.
22:33Serious, yeah.
22:33And maybe don't turn around so much, just turn to see your head to the side.
22:36Just like on your shoulder, but like kind of looking towards the corner.
22:40Turning over.
22:41Cameras at speed.
22:43Vic, sorry, look straight to the back of the wall.
22:46Perfect.
22:46There you go.
22:47So the team is working really well together.
22:49Danny is directing.
22:50I do have a tendency to drop in, but this is my baby and it has to be perfect.
22:55I think, Victoria, kind of turn yourself on a bit more of an angle towards like me.
23:00Shall I do the blowing?
23:01No.
23:02You are the director.
23:05Setting for Marnie's ad, a shipping container.
23:09Frustration, anger.
23:10You need to get out now.
23:11Go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
23:12Calling the shots.
23:14Okay, that's fine.
23:15Leave it there.
23:15Let's move on.
23:16Perfect.
23:16Sales reps in birth.
23:17Three, two, one, and action.
23:23Let's do one more time.
23:25Again, more emotion.
23:26That's what Marnie wants.
23:27When you get enough, get up with that frustration.
23:30Action.
23:34I still need more emotion in your face.
23:36There's not enough.
23:37Three, two, one, action.
23:40Oh, wait.
23:41That's straight on my bone.
23:43Yeah, yeah.
23:43So, one more time.
23:44Can we try maybe, when you do it, when you like frustration here?
23:47Yeah.
23:47Simba has a very, very loud voice.
23:51I don't know how it's going to look, the end product.
23:53I can't see anything right now.
23:54I'm not an actor by trade, but we're getting the job done.
23:57That's weak.
23:57Chest out more.
23:59You can see your eyes.
24:00Perfect.
24:00Stay like that.
24:01Three, two, one, action.
24:04Perfect.
24:05One p.m.
24:09Today's task for Avi and Joe.
24:13Before we start, let's just lay out our core values that we're looking for here.
24:18Come up with a virtual mock-up.
24:20So, first point would be diverse.
24:22Yeah.
24:22She wanted it to be class.
24:24Feminine.
24:25Yes.
24:25To walk Lord Sugar through Rochelle's planned salon.
24:28If you were to step into a salon, what would make you think, wow, this is not just a salon,
24:34it's a classy salon.
24:37If there's like a cool tea coffee making facility or snacks out or...
24:41I think it's a brilliant idea.
24:43If I'm stepping into a barber or a hairdresser and they give me food, I'm thinking, wow,
24:47this is next level.
24:48Yeah.
24:48But I was thinking with class, some kind of light that comes down from the top.
24:54If we have some sort of posh like chandelier, if we can add that in.
24:58Yeah.
24:59And because it's also feminine, what is a very feminine animal or object?
25:05I don't know, like a flamingo or something.
25:06Yeah.
25:07It definitely ticks off class.
25:08I reckon if we have that, without a doubt, it's classy.
25:13Michelle was really clear.
25:15She wants her brand to be all about women of different ethnicities coming to her salon
25:20and feeling the confidence a great hairstyle gives them.
25:23But she's got two boys who have never been in a hairdresser before.
25:27A big issue.
25:28I had an outside the box idea.
25:30As you come in, you can see the logo in big.
25:33If you miss that, you can have a big blimp above, like in the sky.
25:38You mean, like, floating above the courtyard?
25:41Yes, exactly.
25:43OK.
25:46Across the hall, taking the lead on designing her digital mock-up.
25:50Can you now bring the logo in?
25:52Marnie and sounding board Bradley.
25:56OK, that's cool.
25:57Can we bring the ring in, please?
26:00And if you can move that back.
26:02Yeah, that's it.
26:02And I want all the ropes and the framing of it black.
26:06Cool.
26:07Can we now put the logo in the middle?
26:10OK, a bit smaller, a bit smaller.
26:11OK, there's perfect.
26:13What I want to do now is get the bags on the wall.
26:16A bit more spaced out.
26:17Yeah, that's it.
26:18That's good.
26:19I'm thinking the rubberized black flooring.
26:21And I just think for the look, it'll look really contrasty against the yellow.
26:23Can we do that, Roland?
26:24Can we just blacken the whole floor?
26:26Oh, I know, sorry.
26:28Can you put me in some of the other kind of bags?
26:31Because I think to show that we're thinking about actual technique, it's important.
26:35To me, I think Marnie has walked through her gym in her mind a thousand times.
26:40So actually putting it into a metaverse and creating a 3D version of it was very simple for her.
26:45She knew exactly what she wanted.
26:47She knew exactly where she wanted it.
26:49And she knew exactly the look and feel that she wanted to achieve.
26:52Please, can you put the logo onto the wall that's just sitting behind the reception desk?
26:57I think it'd be really cool as they come in to see it straight away.
27:00Perfect.
27:04Should we do the blimp for the final thing?
27:06He's done it.
27:06Let's have a look.
27:07Putting the finishing touches to Rochelle's demo salon.
27:10Now's the time where we need to shift our focus towards the interactive elements of it.
27:15Avi and Joe.
27:17The first interaction point we're going to have is by the receptionist.
27:20Yeah.
27:21Should we keep it very simple and say, welcome to by Rochelle.
27:24Welcome to by Rochelle.
27:27A salon where anyone can come in, no matter what your hair type, and leave feeling confident.
27:32I think that's a bit long.
27:34How about, welcome to by Rochelle.
27:36Yeah.
27:37And remember what her tagline is.
27:39Confidence.
27:40What was it?
27:42Um.
27:42Strand.
27:43Confidence.
27:44One strand at a time.
27:45One strand at a time.
27:46Welcome to by Rochelle.
27:48We cut all hair, leaving you feeling confident.
27:52How about, yeah, like, more like, um, we cut all hair types, leaving you feeling, leaving
27:57you feeling confident.
27:59It doesn't...
27:59If Rochelle or even Danny could have been here, I think the interactive element of our metaverse
28:06would have been so much better.
28:07We could have had some voiceovers.
28:09We could have had some video tutorials.
28:11But instead, we had to stick to text.
28:13So I think, unfortunately, that might let Rochelle down a little bit.
28:16There are actually quite a few improvements we could have made.
28:20But on the whole, we ain't done a bad job.
28:255pm.
28:27In the edit...
28:28How about adding, like, a coloured sort of screen?
28:32While Rochelle brushes off her critics...
28:34I just want to focus on this.
28:36If we go too far off track, we're not going to make sense.
28:40Tasked with using Marnie's advert script...
28:43Sir Patrick, can we just start recording, yeah?
28:44OK, so now, go ahead.
28:46Megan risks a rewrite.
28:50When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
28:53If I put you in gloves, who could you be?
28:56You're feeling so trapped, but it could set you free.
29:00This is really boring.
29:03I know that sounds really harsh, but this is boring.
29:05Just don't think it's cool.
29:06Look, I'm telling you guys now, OK?
29:08Marnie is not going to be happy with deviating too much from this, OK?
29:10She knows what she likes.
29:11But she's not here.
29:12Do you want to cut out all the rest?
29:14Yeah.
29:15I think it's...
29:16I like the thing, if you're feeling so trapped, but it could set you free.
29:21Boom!
29:22And then you're into it, and it's like, we're boxing, the music's on, the beat's going...
29:25I say free just before, and the beat drops, slams, door opens, find your story, join Grit and Glory.
29:32Yeah, right at the end.
29:34When Simba initially read out Marnie's script, it wasn't working.
29:37It was flat, it was boring, it wasn't engaging, and I'm really, really glad that we cut it in the end.
29:42You can't show me one, in a club with the shortest one, like you...
29:46Find your story, join Grit and Glory.
29:50I'm happy with it, are you guys happy?
29:51I am, I am, I am, yeah, I actually am, yeah.
29:54That's us done, that is our gym.
30:07Thank you very much, Roland.
30:08Bye.
30:08Tomorrow, pitch their businesses to Lord Sugar.
30:179am.
30:19So this is the start page of the Metaverse.
30:21Whoa.
30:21Wow, okay.
30:23For Marnie's team...
30:24Oh no, that was a billboard!
30:26Yeah, so you've got the billboard in there in the waiting area.
30:28Oh, it really works with the gym.
30:30A first look at her digital demo.
30:33I'm going to take you in.
30:34So you've got the mirror there with who could you be in gloves.
30:36That is very, very cool.
30:38And what we've done here is create a space
30:40to bring in that sense of community where people can just hang out.
30:44So it's not just a gym about fitness, it's about bringing people together.
30:47Very, very good job.
30:48It's pretty obvious how I feel.
30:50I'm absolutely bursting with pride.
30:53That's really, really amazing.
30:55And I'm so happy that your vision has come to life.
30:57Honestly, just want to say thank you to Brad,
30:59because you had my back and you really let me run with my vision
31:02and just supported it.
31:06Across the hall...
31:07So that's the outside.
31:08We chose the colours of the wall.
31:10The big reveal of Rochelle's salon.
31:13Shall we step in?
31:15Yes, show me the salon.
31:16Okay, cool.
31:17This is your first interactive point.
31:19See where it says...
31:20Oh, there's an interactive point.
31:21What does it say?
31:22So if you click on the explore option,
31:24it says,
31:25Welcome to by Rochelle.
31:27We cut all hair types,
31:28leaving you feeling confident.
31:29I do do more than cutting, but yeah.
31:32The biggest thing I can see with this is,
31:35because we didn't really know how to do a tutorial
31:36and we couldn't really do a voiceover,
31:38it lacks a little bit of interactivity.
31:41So maybe experts will ask you questions on,
31:43why is this a bit boring?
31:49Next for Marnie.
31:51When you look in the mirror,
31:52what do you see?
31:54If I put you in gloves,
31:55who could you be?
31:57The debut of her boxing blockbuster.
32:03Find your story.
32:05Join Grits on Glory.
32:08I'm so happy!
32:12I'm so happy, guys.
32:14I'm so happy.
32:15Thank you so much.
32:16Like this morning, I woke up and I was terrified.
32:19I didn't know what today was going to bring.
32:20And seeing the metaverse, seeing that.
32:23I love it.
32:23The way they break out as the music drops,
32:25it's everything I wanted.
32:27They got the emotion,
32:28they got the passion,
32:29they got the branding,
32:30they got the lighting,
32:31they got the cohesion at the end
32:33of the two people coming together.
32:35Oh, it...
32:37Perfect.
32:38I love it.
32:39It's everything I wanted.
32:40It's so nice.
32:40Simba, thank you so much.
32:42I do my hair toss.
32:45Check my name.
32:45For the other team.
32:46How you feel?
32:47It's good as hell.
32:49Too tired.
32:50Tired of the foolish.
32:51Gone, dust your shoulders off.
32:53Oh, sick.
32:54By Rochelle, the TV app.
32:56You can touch the sky.
32:58Let your hair do the talking.
33:00Book a visit or call to train with us today.
33:02Do you like it?
33:03I think the text is awesome,
33:06but there were some parts
33:07where it's difficult to see.
33:08It was so hard
33:08because of all the different colours.
33:10You know, there was pinks,
33:11there was whites,
33:11there was blacks in there.
33:12And any time we tried a text,
33:14the white one was the one
33:15that stood out the most.
33:16But there is points
33:17when it kind of blends in
33:18with Victoria's hair or...
33:19That's it, yeah.
33:19You know, and that's just
33:20the hardest thing to have got.
33:22But it definitely comes to life.
33:24I'm very proud of it.
33:26I'm thinking definitely
33:27you two for consumer research.
33:29And I'm also thinking Danny
33:30and then Victoria,
33:31if you would be able to stay here
33:33and help me with the pitch.
33:34So if you guys go to consumer research,
33:36me and Brad are going to stay behind
33:37and do the pitch prep.
33:39Thank you, guys.
33:4210am.
33:44Half of each team head off
33:45to gather feedback from the public.
33:48For the finalists...
33:49I want to put across my passion
33:51and I also want to show
33:52that I'm knowledgeable.
33:54A last chance to prepare for their pitch.
33:56Then I want to include,
33:57obviously, the diversity element,
33:59how I'm going to do it,
34:00so the execution.
34:03So what I'm thinking of
34:04is I start bold
34:06and I say,
34:07with grit comes glory,
34:09the start of your story.
34:10So let me start by telling you mine.
34:12And then I move on to say
34:14how I ended up boxing,
34:16talk about some pivotal moments in my life
34:18that led me to this position
34:19and then move on to the gym
34:21and the concept.
34:22West London.
34:24Oh, here we go, here we go.
34:25This is it.
34:26Seeing if grit and glory punches through.
34:29I like that.
34:29Sick!
34:30That's pretty good.
34:31Sahail, Simba and Megan.
34:34I want you guys to just watch it
34:35and tell me what you guys think.
34:37If I'm honest,
34:37I don't quite understand
34:38what it's promoting.
34:41I'm not too sure what it's promoting.
34:42Is it a product or is it a class?
34:44It looks more like a gym class.
34:46I don't know if it's for a gym
34:48or something like that.
34:50It doesn't explain it very well.
34:55The logo looks good up there.
34:57I love it, mate.
34:57Hoping by Rochelle makes the cut.
35:00Oh, that is awesome.
35:02Danny, Abby and Joe.
35:03So I'm interested to know
35:06what do you actually think of this logo?
35:09I think maybe the confidence
35:10should be bigger.
35:12What do you think of the logo?
35:13Do you think this does stand out enough
35:15to be in salons across the UK?
35:19If I had to be honest, no.
35:20No.
35:20We'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
35:22Is it classy to you?
35:24Is it a market and luxury?
35:26I wouldn't say luxury,
35:27but it's cute for me.
35:30Shall we go over and tell Rochelle
35:32what we found?
35:32Yeah, let's go and tell her.
35:38Devere Grand Connaught rooms.
35:42In just three hours...
35:43Oh, it's making me nervous.
35:45..finalists will pitch their businesses
35:47to Lord Sugar...
35:48Oh, my God, it's huge!
35:51..and leading industry experts.
35:53Lee Stafford is actually going to be here.
35:56It's exciting, though.
35:57What an opportunity.
35:58You know we do this in boxing,
35:59you come out and see the ring
36:00that you're going to fight in.
36:01It's going to be a fight, Brad.
36:04But first...
36:05Hey, guys!
36:07..a chance to filter through the feedback.
36:10So the main thing that came up was that it wasn't 100% clear
36:16that it was actually for a boxing club.
36:18Yeah.
36:19Maybe if there was more people in it
36:21or maybe a background of the gym,
36:23it would have been more obvious.
36:24Nothing is ever perfect.
36:25People always find faults
36:27and have slightly different interpretations.
36:28So thank you.
36:31What about the logo?
36:32I said to them,
36:33what do you think of this logo?
36:34Is it different?
36:35Is it unique?
36:36Could you imagine this logo
36:37on high street stores nationwide?
36:40A few people did say
36:41it was a little bit too much going on in the logo.
36:44OK.
36:45You guys have been amazing.
36:46Thank you so much for all of your support.
36:49Now, let me go do the picture of my life.
36:534pm.
36:55Doors open to some of the biggest names
36:57in British business,
37:00including experts from the worlds of fitness and hair.
37:04First year,
37:06bills will be
37:07£1,190,000.
37:13£240,000.
37:14Year 5,
37:15£240,000 in profit.
37:22First to pitch,
37:24Marnie.
37:26I come from a very working class background,
37:29so to be here
37:29is something unimaginable.
37:31Now I need to evidence who I am.
37:34what I'm made of
37:34and what I can do.
37:41And now,
37:42for the main events
37:44in the Orange Corner,
37:46it's
37:47Money Swindles!
37:51Let's get ready to
37:52rumble!
38:04With grit
38:08comes glory,
38:10where you start
38:11your story.
38:13So let me start
38:14by telling you
38:15my story.
38:16I lost my dad
38:17when I was
38:18eight years old.
38:19My world shattered.
38:20I was haunted by that
38:22until
38:23when I was
38:2417 years old,
38:26I stepped foot
38:27in the boxing gym
38:28for the first time.
38:29I have continued
38:30to be in love
38:31with boxing
38:32for the last 10 years.
38:34The problem
38:34with the spitting
38:36soardest amateur boxing gyms
38:37is that they don't have profit
38:39in mind.
38:40And so it hit me.
38:41Why not create
38:42a gym
38:43that has the substance
38:45and the spirit
38:46of those amateur boxing gyms,
38:47but with the style
38:49and the execution
38:50of those commercial
38:52higher-end gyms.
38:53A gym that was based
38:54on a feeling,
38:56not on fitness.
38:57I'm now going to show you
38:59our advert
38:59that we put together.
39:02When you look
39:03in the mirror,
39:04what do you see?
39:05If I put you in gloves,
39:07who could you be?
39:08You're feeling so trapped,
39:10but it could set you free.
39:11Jordan 4s or Jordan 1s.
39:12Rolexes got more than one.
39:14Find your story.
39:16Join Grits on Glory.
39:18I'm now going to show you
39:19something very exciting
39:21and very cool,
39:22our gym.
39:23You can see
39:23that it's an open,
39:25dynamic space.
39:26Grit and Glory
39:27is about delivering
39:28group boxing sessions,
39:29bringing people together
39:31in a training environment.
39:33I'm now going to open
39:34the floor to any questions.
39:35My name is James Balfour.
39:37I'm the co-founder
39:38and CEO of One Rebel.
39:39It is, at times,
39:40a crowded marketplace,
39:42and I was wondering
39:42if you could talk more
39:43to how you're going
39:44to differentiate yourself.
39:46I think what is
39:46a crowded market
39:47is the fitness industry.
39:49With us,
39:49the concept is one.
39:50It's simple.
39:51It's boxing.
39:52So if people are looking
39:53specifically to learn boxing,
39:55this is the place they'll go.
39:57Hello.
39:57Hi.
39:57My name's Russell Barnes.
39:58I'm the CEO
39:59of David Lloyd Clubs.
40:00How are you going to get
40:01those who don't have
40:02any interest in boxing
40:03into your business?
40:06If you aren't a gym goer
40:08and you have no familiarity
40:10with the gym,
40:11it can be a daunting concept.
40:13But if you can be brought to us
40:15through feeling,
40:17through emotion,
40:18then that's a very powerful thing.
40:20Sorry,
40:21how are you therefore
40:22going to address the fact
40:23that by its very nature,
40:25boxing is aggressive?
40:27It only becomes aggressive
40:28when it becomes competitive.
40:30And so I don't think
40:31the aggression is an issue
40:32when we're looking
40:32at the market
40:33we're looking at.
40:34All right.
40:36It's been a pleasure.
40:36Absolutely smushed that money.
40:49The Lord Sugar.
40:50Is it a crowded market?
40:52Expert feedback.
40:54You know,
40:54back in the old days
40:55in the early 90s
40:55there's 80 fitness first clubs,
40:5770 virgin actives
40:58and so on and so on and so on.
41:00What she needs
41:00is obviously
41:01to get people
41:02to that location
41:02and you need that
41:03by getting the best
41:04in class in every class.
41:06James is right.
41:06There's a lack
41:07of really, really good trainers
41:08and that's why
41:09operators such as ourselves
41:11are trying to hang on
41:12as hard as we can
41:13to those trainers
41:14because that's the reason
41:15very often why
41:16members come in
41:17again and again.
41:19The challenge
41:19from a branding perspective,
41:21it's gym
41:22and it's experience,
41:23it's membership
41:24and you actually
41:25look quite gritty,
41:26I thought.
41:27All right.
41:27Thank you so much.
41:28You're well.
41:34Next to take the floor,
41:37Rochelle Rae Anthony.
41:40I am so nervous.
41:42To get this far
41:42would be so disappointing
41:43to go home
41:44without the investment
41:45and I have to get this right.
41:49Good evening, everybody.
41:51I started my salon
41:52at the ripe age of 24,
41:55a little business
41:56that grew very rapidly
41:58into a successful business
42:00that has now been going
42:01for the past 10 years.
42:02This business
42:04and the main focus
42:05behind it is diversity.
42:07I would walk into a salon
42:08with big frizzy hair
42:09and people would reject me.
42:11I knew that I never wanted
42:12a woman to ever feel that way
42:15no matter what their color.
42:17And the National Occupational Standards
42:19only have just introduced
42:21in 2021 Afro Hair as Standard
42:23to their syllabus.
42:26So potential to target
42:27existing stylists to retrain
42:29means that we will be able
42:30to expand the salon
42:32and the academy.
42:34It gives revenue
42:35with online training
42:36and lots of profit.
42:39So I'm just going to show you
42:41the advert that I created
42:42with my team.
42:43I do my hair toss
42:46Check my nails
42:47Baby, how you feeling?
42:48It's going to try
42:49Hair time
42:51Tired of the foolish
42:52Gone, dust your shoulders off
42:54Keep it moving
42:55Come now, come dry your eyes
42:56You know you a star
42:58You can touch the sky
42:59Let your hair do the talking
43:01Book a visit
43:02or call to train with us today.
43:04Once I have one salon established
43:06I would then like to increase it
43:09and become nationwide.
43:10I would now like to open the floor
43:13for any questions.
43:14I'm Joan Scott
43:15I'm the CEO of Habia
43:16which is the Hair and Beauty
43:17Industry Authority
43:19How will you scale up
43:20for business growth?
43:22I'm currently in Milton Keynes
43:23and that would be the focus
43:24and then after six months period
43:26if I feel ready
43:27and if everything is coming back
43:29in terms of revenue
43:30I will then scale up
43:31to one salon per year.
43:33Okay, thank you.
43:34Hi, I'm Nicola Hughes
43:36representing Saks Hair and Beauty.
43:38My brand is national
43:40and we are trained
43:42all our stylists
43:43to cover all hair types
43:45so why do you believe
43:46that you are offering
43:48anything different?
43:49It's so good
43:50that your salon does that
43:51but unfortunately
43:52not as many salons
43:53have the same ethos
43:55that you have
43:56and unfortunately
43:56there is still a huge gap
43:58within the market.
44:00I'm Lee Stafford
44:01I know.
44:02Founder and owner
44:03of Lee Stafford Hair Care.
44:04everybody is doing
44:06online education
44:07some of the best
44:09hairdressers
44:09in our country.
44:11I still haven't really
44:12got a grip
44:13on what you are doing
44:14that's so special
44:15and so unique.
44:17So my business
44:18does have many layers
44:19and that's why
44:20I've taken a different
44:21approach to
44:22the online training.
44:24I wish you well.
44:26Thank you, everyone.
44:39How do you scale up?
44:44I think the biggest issue
44:45is she's not bringing
44:46anything new to the table.
44:48Everything we heard her say
44:49everybody's doing it.
44:50It's nothing new.
44:51She's said herself
44:52there's a lot of layers
44:53to her business
44:54but I think
44:55what she should do
44:56is focus on
44:57what she specialises in
44:58which what I took
44:59from that
45:00was the dealing
45:00with a certain type
45:01and texture of hair.
45:02So I think
45:03if she was to focus
45:04on that
45:04she'd be very successful.
45:08Pitch is over.
45:11I gave that pitch
45:12my absolute all.
45:14I just hope
45:14that it's enough
45:15to prove to Lord Sugar
45:16that I am
45:17the perfect business
45:18partner for him.
45:19I've been in it
45:20slugging away
45:21for 12 rounds.
45:23Now it's crunch time.
45:25We're going to find out
45:26who's going to get
45:26their hand raised.
45:29Tonight
45:29there's nothing more
45:31the candidates can do.
45:33Tomorrow
45:33the final showdown.
45:44You can go through
45:45to the boardroom now.
45:46Welcome back
46:05into these
46:07familiar surroundings.
46:09So let's start
46:10with Rochelle.
46:11Yeah.
46:12Now
46:13who did the branding?
46:14So myself and Joe
46:16went off to do the branding.
46:18We worked on the logo,
46:19the tagline
46:20and...
46:21The name.
46:22The name.
46:23You chose
46:23in the end Rochelle
46:24but there's no mention
46:26of hair in the branding.
46:28You might as well
46:28have shown a photo
46:29of Tim.
46:31Only adding to sales.
46:33Only adding to sales
46:34of course.
46:35There we go.
46:35Frung beard there.
46:37Right.
46:37Now
46:39digital
46:40advertising board.
46:43Avi played his
46:43Steven Spielberg part
46:45in that, did you?
46:46Yes I did
46:47and it was a real pleasure
46:48working with these
46:49two phenomenal actresses.
46:51I mean that genuinely.
46:57It took 30 takes
46:58but the last one
46:59was excellent.
47:00Oh I remember it now.
47:01I couldn't see the difference
47:03between the before
47:04and the after.
47:06I mean you look quite good
47:08in the beginning
47:08and then...
47:10There was no significant difference.
47:13It was just the sunglasses
47:14wasn't it?
47:15Yeah I think
47:15and the confidence
47:16in her actions.
47:17It was the confidence.
47:19Now
47:19you swapped Rochelle
47:22with Avi
47:24when it came to
47:25making the TV advert
47:27is that right?
47:28Yeah that's why I launched it up.
47:28What was the reason for that?
47:29So I don't know much
47:30about the metaverse
47:31I know that it is the future.
47:33Neither does he I've got to.
47:35No I do.
47:37Yeah I do.
47:38I do.
47:38No you don't.
47:39No you don't.
47:40You don't honestly
47:40but go on carry on.
47:43I do think the boys
47:44were more suited
47:45to the metaverse.
47:46Never mind Tony and Guy
47:47I'm more like Laurel and Hardy.
47:51But didn't you think
47:53that it would have been
47:53more appropriate
47:54in that thing
47:55to have someone
47:57like Danny in it?
47:58What was really important
47:59and the kind of ethos
48:01behind my brand
48:02is diversity
48:02and I couldn't have sent
48:04Danny and Victoria
48:06to do the advert
48:07or even Avi
48:07because unfortunately
48:09I wouldn't be representing
48:10a woman of colour
48:10and I thought that was
48:11really important
48:11as part of my brand message.
48:13So that was the one
48:15where we're swinging
48:16the hair from behind
48:17right?
48:18Yeah.
48:18And that was you Victoria.
48:19Decided to go into modelling
48:20after you told me
48:21my last business
48:22should be a hobby
48:22so I decided to branch.
48:27Good.
48:28Let's move on to
48:29Marnie now shall we?
48:32I believe that you
48:33and Bradley
48:33were responsible
48:34for the branding.
48:37Yeah that's correct.
48:37if I just said
48:39to the wife
48:39right I'm just going
48:40down to the grit
48:41and glory tonight
48:42sounds like
48:47sounds like a boozer
48:49to me.
48:50Simba
48:50you suggested
48:52the name Roots
48:53didn't you
48:53at one stage?
48:54Yeah I did
48:54I think it was
48:55because of
48:55Are you sure
48:56you weren't
48:56on Rochelle's team?
49:00I didn't think of it
49:01that way actually
49:01that's a good one
49:02yeah
49:02Yeah
49:04so Bradley
49:07you know
49:07Marnie's very set
49:09in her ways
49:09did you find
49:10the taking on board
49:11anything that you
49:12were saying?
49:13Every time
49:13I did ask the
49:14question as to
49:15why you're doing
49:15this
49:15why you're doing
49:16that
49:16she had a
49:17fantastic answer
49:17and it all
49:18made sense
49:18I can wholeheartedly
49:19say he was so
49:20valuable because
49:21he allowed me to
49:22run with my idea
49:23but guided
49:24Alan
49:28therein lies the truth
49:29therein lies the truth
49:31he guided me
49:32and he steered me
49:33OK
49:33so then you've got
49:35Megan, Sohill
49:36and Simba
49:37to work on the
49:39digital display board
49:41is that right?
49:42That's correct
49:42now
49:43I thought it
49:43finished really
49:44strong
49:44it was like
49:45the night
49:45at the Oscars
49:46with Will Smith
49:47and we haven't
49:49forgotten that
49:50scene ever since
49:51yeah
49:51touche
49:52touche
49:53so the metaverse
49:54who did that?
49:56me and Brad
49:56did that
49:57you did
49:58well you did it
49:59Brad was with you
50:00he did support me
50:01he did
50:01yeah
50:02he said
50:02can I get you
50:03a cup of tea
50:03I think
50:10I think there was
50:10a shoulder massage
50:11I was offered
50:11at one point
50:12as well
50:12so
50:13the
50:14presentation
50:15to the
50:15experts
50:16Simba
50:17very good
50:18I was very impressed
50:19with that actually
50:20thank you
50:21as you can see
50:21my voice is going
50:22a little bit
50:22because I put everything
50:24that was actually Brad's idea
50:26so Brad did have a
50:27really good point
50:28thank you Bradley
50:33well done
50:34good
50:36good
50:36all right
50:37well look
50:38thank you very much
50:40indeed for assisting
50:41in this
50:42final task
50:43so I'm going to
50:46I'm going to carry on
50:46talking to them now
50:47okay
50:48so off you go now
50:50for the last time
50:51thank you
50:51good luck girls
50:54good luck girls
50:55yeah
50:55so
50:59so Marnie
51:01when you leave here today
51:02are you going to sign that lease
51:04absolutely
51:06right
51:07and because the premises that you have are dilapidated
51:12when do you believe you'll be all singing and all dancing and in business
51:16eight to ten weeks
51:17is what I've been told
51:19now you know
51:20after you finished your piece
51:22I had five of the top guys came in to see me
51:27and what I got out of them was that
51:30there's nothing special that you're offering
51:33that it's been done before
51:36boxing obviously has been done before
51:38but not in this way
51:39there is a huge huge huge
51:41why hasn't it been done in this way before
51:43because that's the good question
51:45what am I investing in
51:47that's what I'd like to know
51:48the amateur boxing clubs
51:49the
51:50those spit and sworders low-end gyms
51:52have
51:52an incredible
51:53incredible atmosphere
51:54and people are drawn to them
51:55on the other end of the spectrum
51:56you get the high-end gyms
51:58with the nice facilities
51:59and it's very fancy
52:00but there's no
52:01personality to it
52:02no character
52:02the market
52:03what are you going to do
52:04to make it different then
52:05because these guys
52:06didn't get that feeling
52:08from the presentation
52:09that you made
52:10well with those high-end gyms
52:12it's very superficial
52:13so they do box fit
52:14boxer size
52:15and it's come and go
52:15they don't get
52:16invested in the gym
52:18they're not committed to it
52:18there's no loyalty
52:19with amateur boxing gyms
52:20there is
52:21and people come
52:22they find friendships there
52:23and that's why I was trying to get
52:24the message across
52:25in all the presentation
52:26well you didn't
52:26you didn't get it across to them
52:28okay
52:28so Rochelle
52:29why has it taken you
52:3114 years
52:31to only have
52:32one salon
52:33I don't
52:35I would rather have
52:36one amazing
52:38big large base
52:39than
52:40lots of little ones
52:41that aren't successfully running
52:42and to me
52:43I didn't have the investment
52:45to be able to
52:46scale up
52:479.4 million pound
52:49turnover
52:49in year five
52:51come on
52:51really
52:52so obviously
52:54if I did successfully open
52:55the rest of them
52:56then that would happen
52:57but
52:57at the same time
52:58not sugar
52:58I would have
52:59hair extensions in there
53:00and the markup on hair extensions
53:02is really
53:02it's about 40% markup
53:04then you have the online academy
53:05which is 90% markup
53:07it's literally
53:08complete profit
53:08I'll tell you
53:09when the big problem starts
53:11number two
53:12number two branch
53:14where you start to realise
53:15that you need
53:16you want to duplicate yourself
53:18no
53:19it's worse than that
53:20it's the logistics
53:21for example
53:22you need
53:23a system

54:13a business before
54:14and she's chosen
54:16a business
54:17that's very competitive
54:18and can she stand out
54:21in this very competitive market
54:22that being said
54:23for an ambassador
54:24for a boxing facility
54:25there is no one better
54:27I would think
54:28than Marnie
54:29and what she stands for
54:30and Rochelle
54:32it's what you posed to
54:33at the very beginning
54:33of this final stage
54:35prove to me
54:36this is scalable
54:37I'm not 100% sure
54:39she's captured that piece
54:40about how she takes it
54:41from one successful store
54:42to a nationwide entity
54:44of Buy Rochelle
54:45the one thing
54:46I know you can do
54:47is put the infrastructure
54:48around her
54:49that she will need
54:50to be able to focus
54:51on running her business
54:52well thanks a lot
54:54it really is appreciated
54:55so I'll just bring

55:21I started my business
55:22with literally £50
55:24and I bought
55:25second hand furniture
55:26and then I built up
55:27I have never had
55:28any type of investment
55:29and that's why
55:30I'm here in this process
55:31for that £250k investment
55:33do you understand
55:34my concerns about
55:35the migration
55:35into the second branch
55:38I do
55:38the logistics
55:39not just down to the hair
55:41it's down to lots
55:42of other commercial issues
55:44you know
55:44inventory
55:45stocks
55:46staff
55:47people
55:48rents
55:49rates
55:49all that stuff
55:51absolutely
55:51but I have been
55:52currently doing that

55:57what I'm doing
55:58with that one premises
55:59so all I have to do

56:01and then open
56:02the second or the third
56:03now
56:04Mooney
56:05you've never run
56:06a business before

56:29all the way through
56:30to year five
56:31they're smaller margins
56:32but regardless

56:35Lord Sugar
56:35so I've already got
56:36that existing business
56:37that is running itself
56:38so I could literally

56:42find the perfect location
56:44get it installed
56:46ready to go

56:56what it takes
56:56Lord Sugar

57:38which is completely alien
57:41to me

57:44a business before
57:45Rochelle
57:47it's opening
