A shocking incident has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, where a 27-year-old man was allegedly made to run naked through a residential locality after being offered ₹5,000.

The incident took place on Sunday in Chandpa town under Chandpa police station limits. A video of the act later went viral on social media, triggering outrage.

In the footage, several individuals can allegedly be seen encouraging the man to remove his clothes in exchange for money. The man is then seen running naked through narrow lanes in front of local residents, including women, while onlookers cheer and record videos.

According to reports, one of the accused is allegedly linked to the village pradhan’s family.

Taking suo motu cognisance of the viral video, Chandpa police registered a case on May 4 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 296 related to obscene acts.

DSP Sadabad Amit Pathak said a complaint was filed by a sub-inspector posted at Chandpa police station, following which police launched an investigation.

Police initially stated that one main accused had been arrested and another was absconding. Later, officials confirmed that five accused have now been arrested and legal proceedings are underway.

Authorities said the investigation is continuing and further action will be taken as per law.
