In a shocking incident, strong winds in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruppur district caused a roadside banner to collapse, injuring a two-wheeler rider on a busy stretch.

The incident occurred on Friday evening along the Coimbatore–Palladam Road near Lakshmi Mills. According to reports, gusty winds swept through the area, dislodging a large banner installed close to the roadside.

Eyewitnesses said the banner could not withstand the sudden wind pressure and tore apart. A portion of it flew onto the road and struck a passing biker, causing him to lose balance and fall. The rider sustained injuries, though his exact condition is not immediately known.

A video of the incident has surfaced online and is being widely shared. The footage shows the banner flapping violently before collapsing onto the road, followed by the biker’s fall.

The incident has raised concerns over the safety of large banners and hoardings placed along busy roads, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Locals have demanded stricter monitoring and safety checks to prevent such accidents.
