03:18It's dry, slick, and a right-hander normally.
03:24Right-handers are harder to turn on because you want to use that rear brake as a clutch sometimes
03:31and help you get around those corners.
03:33So you really have to use the lean on the mechanics of the bike and corners like that.
03:42Sexton working his way now into the top 10, challenging Ferrandez Will.
03:46Jason, he did get a good start, but he's doing a good job working through the pack now.
03:50And I just want to give you guys an update on where they're at.
03:52It's been well-documented his journey so far with Monster Energy Kawasaki and their struggles with the bike.
03:58Well, I was told Malcolm fights back for that position.
04:02I was told today that they win Florida testing this week.
04:06And they feel that they've identified this one component in the bike.
04:10Peeling back the layers is how it was described to me as far as the testing goes.
04:13Revealing this component that they said has really been kind of holding Chase back from the comfort
04:18that he's been looking for all season.
04:20They said they've identified it.
04:22That is very different from instantly fixing it.
04:24They said they will continue to work on that.
04:26Kind of like 50% there, they told me.
04:30And they are going back testing again.
04:34Theo Lockwood, who works over there as the crew chief, he has stayed out here.
04:38He's going to go back to Florida.
04:40He won't get to go home this week.
04:42The message guys, they are working incredibly hard.
04:44And we might have to see them now closer to the end result than we have ever seen them before.

05:47So what happened there is Cooper went to exit that corner in the inside of the rut.

06:04I mean, you've got, between Lawrence and Webb, two of the toughest guys late in the race.

06:18And the front started to pitch forward.
06:20He was able to save it.

08:05He revs his bike to try to scare Hunter to maybe make a mistake.

10:31Now, here's what's interesting.
10:32These four, 112 career main event wins between three of them.
10:37Hunter still looking for his first.
10:40Some of the best to ever do it.
10:42Rockson, Webb, and Tomac.
10:43But Hunter has proven himself.
10:45Often, it has felt like a matter of when, not if he's going to get that win.
10:49It could be tonight.
10:51Easier said than done for Hunter.
10:53But he has got to get out of this comfort zone and get by Kenny.
10:58If he can do that just for one split second, he'll win this race.
11:03But if he's going to do it, it's got to happen sooner than later.
11:06And, again, he's going to have to get uncomfortable.
11:08He wants to make the move anytime soon.

11:16And as Hunter continues to try to figure out how to get the lead,
11:20you start thinking about that Arlington magic for the number one.
11:24Cooper Webb, who has been in his position so many times
11:27and pulled this one out.

11:30Hey, Ricky, I was just thinking about what you just said
11:33about Hunter needing to get out of his comfort zone.
11:35A conversation with him earlier,
11:37talking about what happened with Ken Rockson
11:39and taking them both down there when he was attempting that pass on him.
11:42He said there's a balance out there when he's racing.
11:45You know, he's asked to have more intensity.
11:48I need to have more intensity in my run.
11:49He's like, and then you do it.
11:50And, obviously, then sometimes these racing incidents happen.
11:53So how tough a balance is that?
11:55The patience, the intensity, knowing when to do it as he's tempted again.
11:58Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's the hardest thing is the balance of knowing when to push
12:03and what you're comfortable with.
12:05And only he can make that decision.
12:07Again, it's easy for us to say what he needs to do.
12:10It's a lot different when you're that rider on that motorcycle in charge of the throttle.
12:14So, and I appreciate him.
12:16Listen, he doesn't rarely ride out of his zone.
12:21Got a shot at it here.

12:23Rockson on the outside, over the top of the tables, still holds on.
12:27Not going to be enough.
12:29And, man, this could be so frustrating when you're in this position, Jason.

12:41But a guy like Kenny is so good at defending the position
12:45and blocking and how fast he is.

12:55They put a little time into Tomac now, just a bit.

13:22That was a great job by Hunter Lawrence to keep the momentum up.

13:29And the reason he is, he's able to come to the inside jump
13:31all the way over the second tabletop and then triple.

13:35This is where Hunter Hunter needs to go for it.

14:49You know that he does some of his best work at the end of the race.
14:54Wow, what a win that this could be.
14:58And he hasn't had a good day.

15:00It was a struggling qualifying.
15:02And he comes back and wins the heat.
15:04And he has had to hold off and pass some tough customers.
15:08And he's getting away now.
15:09I mean, here's Webb and Tomac.
15:10They have not been able to do anything with him.
15:13And now they're battling each other.
15:14And Roxen as Hunter pulls away.
15:17Remember, I told you.
15:18He's like, man, if he could get by Kenny, he would be gone.
15:23And look at the gap that he's established in just one lap.
15:26And Eli all over Hoop right here.
15:31Man, this track is beat up.
15:33It's slick.
15:36Webb up the inside on Roxen.
15:39And I don't think that Cooper is going to wait quite as long to get by Kenny as maybe the
15:4594 did.
15:51What direction will it go?
15:52Webb, he's got to play offense and defense.
15:55Tomac all over him.
15:57Roxen right in front.
15:59Still four minutes and a lap to go between these Titans.
16:02There's the move from Webb.
16:04Yeah.
16:05He ain't wasted any time.
16:07And then he takes it Kenny wide.
16:08And that allows Eli to get by him as well.
16:11Two for one.
16:12Eli gets aggressive RC.
16:13And he punts Webb off the track.
16:16And Roxen goes by Webb as well.
16:18Yeah, I don't even think that he made contact right there.
16:21And, man, Eli has got the eye of the tiger right now.
16:25And this race is not over.
16:27This is like one of those old races we used to see from Eli Tomac five, six years ago.
16:33And he can make up so much ground.
16:36Three minutes, 30 seconds, plus one lap.
16:39There's the Webb pass.
16:40There's the pass by Cooper Webb by the 94.
16:44And then watch Eli Tomac.
16:46He goes up, crosses the ruts.
16:48Oh, maybe they touch boots.
16:51Put Cooper Webb off the track into the second position.
16:56That's about as clean as it could be for as aggressive as it was for Tomac.
17:00But it is really her Webb who's been shuffled back to fourth.
17:04And I also want to note, I think the red cross flag was just being pulled in
17:07as those three came over the finish line jump the previous lap.
17:12I'm about to look at that one or not as Hunter Lawrence has put two seconds in.
17:18Is there a beast mode charge en route from Tomac?
17:22Or is tonight the night for the 96 as Webb and Roxen,
17:25who battled so many times in this building, are doing it again?
17:29And Webb invents a new line through the middle to get him.
17:33Yeah, Webb's had enough.
17:34Now look at the ground.
17:35He's got to try to make up on Eli.
17:40I'm going to tell you what.
17:41Eli is chewing into that lead that Hunter Lawrence has right now.
17:46Man, he is making up a lot of time.
17:49His last lap, he was a 49.9 to Hunter Lawrence's 51.6.
17:55So Hunter's really going to have to dig deep.
17:57There he is in the rear view.
18:02Two minutes and a lap to go.
18:04Beast mode engaged for Tomac.
18:07Engaged it is.
18:08And this is where you, at this level,
18:10these guys are so good at just maintaining the lead.
18:13So I can't say if Hunter's just maintaining this gap right here
18:17or if he's giving it his all.

18:20Malcolm Stewart had a great battle going with Sexton the whole race.
18:24He has gone down.
18:26He's still circulating.
18:27Whoa.
18:29The 96 of Hunter Lawrence getting crossed up on that off-ramp.
18:34Cutting back across the first corner.

18:38A lot of ruts there.
18:39A lot of guys have been getting sideways.
18:41Hey, he stretched it back out on Tomac.

18:44Only by two-tenths.
18:45But, man, they're going to have about three more laps to go.
18:49If he can keep this gap, Eli makes a little mistake there.
18:52If he can keep this gap at bay for another lap and a half,
18:56I think he's got it.
18:59And doing it the hard way, as Hunter Lawrence has always done,
19:03didn't hold shot and check out, had to fend off Webb and Tomac
19:07while trying to take the lead from Roxxon.
19:14Well, you think about all these second places
19:18and just how cool that Honda HRC and the Lawrence camp,
19:22and we talked to Johnny O'Mara.
19:24They knew that eventually a win would come.
19:27Listen, he's got two more laps to go yet,
19:30but eventually you keep knocking out those seconds.
19:32This day would come, and he is in a prime spot.
19:35Again, if he can just hold on,
19:38the patience will certainly prevail.
19:42And it's about even on lap times the last two times around.
19:46Tomac, in fact, lost ground in that last sector.
19:50Yeah, well, he lost another three-tenths.
19:55So, as long as no lappers play a part here late in this race,
20:01it's going to be Hunter's race.
20:05Man, look at those.
20:06See, this is where he made the mistake earlier.
20:08You can see how ruddy it was coming off of that tabletop.
20:11There's the blue flags waving,
20:14and there's a race for the lead, and you are not in it.
20:17It'll be white flag next time around.
20:20Hunter Lawrence, points leader already.
20:23So many questions about when will that first win come,
20:26although I honestly feel like that was outside noise.
20:29I don't think he was worried.
20:30You ride like this, it's going to happen.
20:32And now he's one lap away.

20:40He got his first win here several years ago.
20:44In the 250s.
20:45Yep.
20:46And it could be, again, a first for Hunter.
20:49There were a lot of doubts about his Supercross skills
20:52when he came over from Australia and then through Europe.
20:55And, man, has this guy worked and worked and worked on it
20:59to beat the best in the premier class of Supercross.
21:04And he's a third of a lap away.
21:06A straight-up win.
21:08There was no gimmies here whatsoever.
21:10He earned this win right here.
21:13One more clean pass through the whoops, and he's got it.
21:17And the crowd salutes it.
21:20Hunter Lawrence's long journey in Supercross now has a win.
