00:00Red Bull KTM, the Spaniard has been spectacular when the gate drops and there he goes, straight
00:07to the front.
00:08Savanci did a really good job, he checked up early, didn't get into that first corner
00:13so hot to do what he's doing right now, to sneak up the inside and he's in the lead on
00:18that quad lock Honda.
00:20Oh, Barsha straight through to second.
00:23He's back, I love it.
00:26Back the way we remembered.
00:28Remember I talked about, man, this guy is great in these conditions and this would be a story.
00:35Uh-oh, hold on, hold on, gets through there, found his rhythm, meanwhile Joey Savanci's
00:41disappeared.
00:46When was that, when was that New Jersey race?
00:49That two years ago, three years ago?
00:51Two years ago, I believe.
00:53He was spectacular there in sloppy, sloppy conditions.
00:56as well.
00:58This is incredible to see what the 51 of Justin Barsha is doing right now.
01:02Like you said, Ricky, he really did have zero expectations.
01:05This is about just getting some super cross gate drops in here before the season is out.
01:10But when I spoke to him earlier and said, hey, you know, you're not probably adverse to these conditions.
01:14He kind of smiled and he's like, it's kind of crazy, right?
01:18This is what we were wishing for.
01:19He said, most important thing, Ricky, for him is that it would slow everything down.
01:23After coming back from the kind of injury, the incident that he did, he just wanted to come back,
01:28slow the track down and just ease back into this.
01:30In Barsha style, he is doing that right now.
01:33So, home race for Seth Hamaker, home race for Nick Romano,
01:36and certainly, in some shape or form, a home race for Justin Barsha.
01:40Let's hear his thoughts.
01:43Absolutely.
01:43You know, I was born in Jersey, not far from here.
01:46And as soon as I landed from the airport, I went, yeah, we're in Philly.
01:48I can feel the aggressiveness and I got excited and I got in the rental car.
01:53And my wife's like, yeah, you fit right in up here.
01:55Like, it just goes off.
01:57So, yes, it's great to come back from Philly.
01:59I feel the vibe and the energy.
02:01It's going to feel good.
02:03I'll tell you what, man.
02:05I think, like, this is almost a blessing for this guy.
02:07You talk about no pressure, no expectations.
02:10And I feel like sometimes when the conditions are like this,
02:14it does take the pressure off because it's more of survival
02:17and not having to, you know, getting to the end,
02:20like we've been telling everyone,
02:22and not having to absolutely turn it loose,
02:26jumping gnarly jumps and, you know, the risk is a little bit less
02:29because the speeds are slower and everything kind of simmers down a little bit.
02:33He might just give you and Ryan Villopoto quite the story to tell on Monday on Title 24.
02:39Here comes Justin Cooper, by the way.
02:41As we watch Cooper and Barsha,
02:43I want to share a funny story yesterday with Justin Barsha
02:46when everybody came out for media day, right?
02:49You ride through the tunnel and out onto the track,
02:51and then Justin got there and took his helmet off.
02:54And Ricky and I said to him, how was that?
02:57Did you take that all in?
02:58Like, what was that feeling like to ride back into the arena?
03:01He said, you know what?
03:02I didn't even really pay that much attention,
03:04but I can tell you I'm kind of nervous.
03:07He said, when I woke up this morning, I was nervous,
03:09and it's not even race day.
03:13It's so fun to talk to Justin, him and his wife,
03:17two little boys, just where he is now in life.
03:21A lot of fun to talk to.
03:22Just enjoy the process.
03:24JT?
03:25He's not the only rider, kind of making this hometown appearance.
03:28We talked about Nick Romano earlier.
03:30Well, Justin Cooper there sitting in third.
03:32He's a Long Island native,
03:33so I'm sure he's got a lot of family and friends.
03:35So he and Justin Barsha, both from New York,
03:37both probably not hating this mud too much,
03:41and both of them could be in contention to get their,
03:43well, Justin Barsha's first win in a long time,
03:46but Justin Cooper's still looking for that first elusive win for the overall.
03:50Two minutes plus a lap to go.
03:53Great ride by Cade Clayson.
03:55Cade's in the top ten.
03:56Dylan Ferrandez is in that transfer zone.
03:59Whoa, look at that.
04:00Barsha to the lead with a body slam,
04:02a body check on Joey Savace.
04:05He snuck up on him.
04:06Joey not anticipating,
04:08or I don't think he was anticipating that,
04:10but when the door opens in the mud race,
04:12you just got to absolutely send in.
04:14And that was somewhat of a sly job.
04:17Sure was.
04:18Man, this would be so epic.
04:21Really cool to see if Barsha can hang on to it.
04:26A minute and 35 seconds left.
04:29Lost one lap.
04:31So it has been a spectacular first year
04:34for the Troy League Design Red Bull Ducati team on many fronts,
04:39but to go for this rider lineup of Justin Barsha and Dylan Ferrandez,
04:45and unfortunately the team lost Barsha at A1
04:49after there was that accident between himself and Malcolm Stewart,
04:52and Justin needed some time away.
04:54He hit his head very hard,
04:55and he just needed to rest and recuperate.
04:58Here is Jorge Prado who's got by Justin Cooper.
05:01He's got that third spot.
05:03Joey Savace is trying to respond,
05:04but Dylan Ferrandez has been doing an excellent job
05:08checking off better result, better result, better result,
05:12but this could be something special.
05:14A first heat win for Ducati and that TLD Red Bull machine?
05:18Yeah.
05:18That'd be pretty cool.
05:19And you consider, like,
05:21how many races we've been to already this season,
05:24and for Dylan not to get one,
05:27and then JB to come back out.
05:29First race back and a bag of heat,
05:32that'd be huge for the brand.
05:33Jay Coop got back past Prado.
05:36Prado must have had a little hiccup there.
05:38Time's almost up,
05:39and Savace is definitely getting a little bit closer
05:41to Justin Barsha.
05:43He might have something for him on the final lap.
05:47What a crazy story this would be.
05:49First race back and Barsha wins the heat.
05:54Getting into some lappers here.
05:56You can see they're all trying to,
05:59they're all taking a similar line,
06:01so that line's starting to,
06:03the ruts are starting to get deep.
06:05It's going to be harder to follow those ruts,
06:07so I anticipate some of these guys
06:09start venturing off and find some,
06:13I wouldn't say fresh dirt,
06:15but a newer line and not as deep
06:18to where they can get a better drive.
06:21as these ruts get deeper,
06:23it becomes much harder to keep your balance
06:25and hold a straight line.
06:26Look at this,
06:27Joey Savace's gained ground on Barsha.
06:30They're going to see the white flag next time by,
06:32signifying one lap to go.
06:34Let your eyes walk through that graphic on the left,
06:36and you're going to see,
06:37there's the lead change,
06:39Savace back in front.
06:40Kyle Chisholm is in the automatic transfer position.
06:44He's one spot behind Chase Sexton.
06:47Here comes Barsha.
06:48He wants that lead back.
06:50He wants that win.
06:51It might only be a heat,
06:52but he's having a blast out there.
06:55Whoa!
06:58Contact for the second time with Joey Savace.
07:01I love the battle right here.
07:03Guys are fighting.
07:06Joey says,
07:07all right,
07:07I can play that game as well.
07:09Gotcha.
07:10Take that.
07:12Here comes Cooper.
07:14Here's Justin flying through the air,
07:17up the inside of one,
07:19almost two.
07:20Cooper to second for now.
07:24Oh, watch though.
07:25Barsha's on the inside right here.
07:27He's going to make the move back by...
07:29He is.
07:31Similar to what he did,
07:32how he made the move for the lead.
07:34On the 17 of Savace.
07:36Joey doing a great job
07:38not giving up
07:40and staying strong to the end.
07:41Barsha just lost a little bit of momentum
07:43and rhythm there through the whoops,
07:45so that's allowed
07:45Joey Savace to get away.
07:48Determined right here
07:49through that split lane section.
07:51I mean,
07:51could you imagine
07:52another great opportunity
07:54for a guy like Joey Savace
07:56to bag his first premier win?
07:58Absolutely.
07:59Down this short shoot,
08:01this flat section,
08:03and that is a heat win
08:05for Joey Savace.
08:06first time since 2019.
08:09Awesome effort.
08:10Justin Barsha is back
08:12and he finishes second
08:13ahead of Justin Cooper
08:15and Shane McElrath
08:17came storming through.
08:18So two...
08:19...
08:19...
