00:00Aqui em Philly. Let's go!
00:04Muito bom start, Hunter Lawrence.
00:06Inside, Cooper Webb é o cara que está lá,
00:08mas Lawrence, ele vai fazer o seu caminho, ele sure does.
00:43isso é playing right into Roxen's hands.
00:45Por que ele é tão bom?
00:46Como ele vai para o segundo,
00:49passando a Lawrence,
01:05got some goggle issues.
01:07I think they put tear-offs over the roll-offs
01:10and looks
01:11like all the tear-offs
01:14have come up
01:15come undone. Look at Ken.
01:17Tell us more, Will. Jumping through the rhythm.
01:19Just seeing Ken out front right now
01:21and Ricky listening to what you just said
01:23about how good he is in these conditions.
01:25As I was kind of doing my rounds with the teams
01:27today, there was a lot of talk about how important
01:29the start is going to be, protecting the motorcycle,
01:32vision, everything that we've
01:33spoken about. The one team that had a
01:35smile on their face, well that
01:37was the Suzuki Progressive Insurance Team
01:39because they know what their rider
01:41is capable of. We talked about opportunities
01:43so far tonight. A massive
01:45opportunity right now for the 94.
01:48Well, the reason he's so
01:49good in the mud, number one, he has the experience
01:52racing these type
01:53conditions a lot as
01:55a young kid as well. And again,
01:57this guy is into his 30s
01:59and that experience, and that's something
02:01that you can't buy.
02:03And I like that. I like how
02:05he rides. It's very loose on the bike
02:07as well, kind of letting it move around, JT.
02:10Yeah, Ricky,
02:11just remind you a little bit of that San Francisco
02:13race where you and James Stewart had that huge
02:15battle. It's just the way
02:17the racetrack is shaping up. They're able to actually
02:19race it. You see Kenny jumping on, jumping
02:21off, putting all the combinations together.
02:23It just has a lot of shades of that year for me.
02:25Yeah, 100%. Like I talk about, hey, just
02:27going out there and doing what you need to
02:29do and racing your
02:31race. But yeah, these guys are getting so
02:33good at racing in these
02:35conditions that yet they end up
02:37racing this. And it's like, I remember
02:39that race that you just talked about in San Francisco
02:42so vividly
02:43I'm like, oh my goodness, it's like we're
02:45racing in here and it's not even muddy.
02:50I'll tell you what, with
02:51Ken being able to ride
02:53these conditions, watch this replay
02:55of Hunter Lawrence. He's
02:57going to come up short, starts
02:59to spin and goes sideways, comes up
03:01way short, no harm, no foul.
03:03But what I was going to say, as
03:05Ken is able to do
03:07these rhythm lanes, it actually
03:09creates less heat
03:11in the engine and the bike, keeps
03:13the bike a little bit cooler because you're going at
03:15faster speed. So that's helpful for
03:17preserving your engine,
03:19preserving your clutch.
03:22Cooper Webb is just under six seconds in
03:25arrears of Roxson
03:26and has a nice buffer over
03:28Hunter Lawrence. And then how about
03:31Dean Wilson, Malcolm Stewart,
03:33Garrett March, Banks, Vince
03:35Freezes in seventh. Then Christian Craig
03:37and Kevin Moran's has just pushed
03:39Mitchell Harrison outside of an
03:41automatic transfer position.
03:43Kenny just rolling along.
03:45I love what I'm seeing right now
03:47from Ken. I mean, he's in another
03:49zone compared to these guys
03:51and like Div just told us before
03:53this heat race started, this is one,
03:55two, three in the championship.
03:58So
03:58going into the main, he's got to be feeling
04:01pretty spunky.
04:02This three-time champ here is still mathematically
04:05alive in this
04:06450 championship.
04:08It's going to be tough. He knows that, but
04:10the champ still has
04:13a mathematical shot. It's going to be hard,
04:15but who knows? On a night like tonight,
04:17it is wide open. The variables
04:19are plenty.
04:20Yeah, anything can happen, as we know, and just one tip
04:23over. You know, we talk about
04:25Kenny and that being a kickstart
04:27motorcycle. I mean, that should be a
04:29massive goal, not only for
04:30everybody else, but especially Kenny
04:33because if for some reason
04:34he went down
04:35and that bike shut off, it is going
04:38to be difficult.
04:40Hunter Lawrence working
04:40his way through some traffic.
04:44You know, if Hunter isn't feeling
04:46overly great right now, I think you've got to go
04:48big picture. As much of a
04:50tough pill as that is to
04:52swallow, you've got to hope
04:54that just get through here, maximize the
04:56night, hope for a little luck,
05:00move on
05:01the next weekend in Denver.
05:02He's got to continue the pattern
05:04that he's had this year, and that pattern
05:06is when he doesn't finish on
05:08the podium, he comes
05:10straight back to the next race. So he didn't finish
05:12on the podium at Anaheim 1, the season
05:13opener, but in San Diego, he was
05:16on the podium. He did not finish on the
05:18podium in Seattle. Came back to Arlington
05:20to get his very first career 450
05:22win. Did not finish on the podium
05:24in Detroit. Came back in St. Louis
05:26the very next week after crashing in the
05:27whoops, and he finished on third.
05:29He did not finish on the podium last
05:32weekend in Cleveland. So if he
05:33continues this pattern, he should be
05:36on the podium tonight. Yeah, he
05:37should be, but this, this, the mud being
05:40the equalizers, you
05:42just never know. Let's have a listen
05:44to some thoughts on the championship
05:45points leader. Here's Hunter.
05:48Yeah, no, it's good. I'm
05:50going to enjoy these last three. The
05:52points of being at
05:53numerous times throughout the season, being at
05:56you know, down one, up
05:58one, you know, tied. So
06:00it's not anything I'm unfamiliar
06:02with. So I'm looking forward to getting these last three
06:04out. We've done a little bit more practice
06:06this week. I'll be prepared more so
06:08for the starts if it is weather. So
06:10on the horizon, which is looking like it is.
06:12So I think I'll be better prepared for that.
06:13Looking forward to, you know, get the chance to go out and execute
06:16and then show the look and put it for that this weekend
06:18in particular. But excited
06:19for Salt Lake as well. Yeah, you talk
06:22about preparing during the week for these
06:24this type of conditions. I don't necessarily think he's
06:26speeding, riding in the mud,
06:28probably starting on a wet
06:30grate, a wet metal grate
06:32and making sure that he executes that
06:34start perfectly. He got a really good start
06:36in this heat race.
06:38Not good enough, though.
06:39That interview was conducted yesterday
06:41by our producer, Chris Bond.
06:43How about the weather yesterday?
06:45It was a stunning day. Completely
06:47the opposite to what we're dealing with
06:49here. Final lap. Roxson
06:51is getting close to being 10 seconds
06:53ahead of Cooper Webb.
06:56Here he is. Here's Kenny
06:57who tied Bob Hanna,
06:59the legend, last week
07:01on 27 main event
07:03wins. If he wins again tonight,
07:06he ties
07:07Hall of Famer, Ricky Johnson.
07:09I spoke to RJ earlier this week.
07:11He shared some really lovely
07:13words and thoughts.
07:14And if Ken does that,
07:15we'll share them with you
07:17a little later tonight.
07:21He's in a very special zone
07:23and a very special time of his career
07:25is Ken Roxson.
07:28He's looking around.
07:30He's looking behind.
07:30Don't worry, Kenny.
07:32Cooper's
07:33not close.
07:34Checkered flag is out.
07:35Ken Roxson continues
07:37his winning ways.
07:40Heat victory.
07:41Yep.
07:42Check that box.
07:43Cooper Webb comes across
07:44for a fine second.
07:45And then here's the points lead
07:47to Hunter Lawrence.
07:50Just carefully works
07:51his way across the line
07:52to third.
07:55Much more you can do.
07:59All these riders
08:01playing at safe
08:02diff
08:02and
08:03these guys
08:04are experts.
08:06They get a window
08:07into a little later
08:09tonight
08:10on what
08:11the main event
08:12is going to look like,
08:13feel like,
08:14race like.
08:15At the moment,
08:16Roxson is the man.
