01:10And these guys are racing for their own championship.

01:26But look at that whoop speed from Davies again.

01:29Levi started getting off balance and was just playing the dancing line,

01:36And you can see Hayd Deegan getting stuck behind these guys.

01:40These guys need to stop playing with each other and start moving forward,
01:43try to get a gap.
01:43Yeah, because Hamaker is third, Shimoda's fourth.
01:47They're obviously not slouches back there.
01:50And they're closing the gap.
01:52As he's two battle for the lead, there's Deegan mired in traffic.
01:56Yeah, Hayden was able to make a pass on Ryder D.
01:58And now Brown, Pierce Brown made a mistake.

02:02Here comes Kitschner in the split lane on Davies.

02:07See if Cole squares him up, trying to get up the inside of him.
02:12He's trying to get that Yamaha down the inside.
02:15Kitschner's able to cover it.

02:27You know, both these guys want to be out front.
02:29But again, what they're doing, they're just keeping Hayden in the mix.

02:45That is championship level stuff.
02:48Back there in second, third, and fourth for the East.
02:50And the last time we've seen these guys on the West Coast,
02:53we, Hayden and Levi had a huge battle.
02:56And Seattle, actually, Levi actually closed that gap.
02:59But nonetheless, he's out front.

03:03Now the only problem was that he blitzes past him.

03:06He did a good job at not going down.
03:08But Levi was not letting him have at that point.

03:17And yes, they need to be worried about the race for the lead.
03:20And of course, they're caught up in that.
03:21But they are leaving seconds of lap time on the track right now.
03:25And not only are they letting Hayden stay in the race,
03:28guys like Seth Panmaker and Joe Shimoda in third and fourth,
03:31they are loving this because that allows them to close up to the lead.

03:48We saw Ryder really quick in earlier in the day.

03:53Probably got into it with a lap Ryder
03:55or ends up on a tough block from what I can see right there.

03:59Look at this battle, James.
04:01Habaker and Shimoda going at Davies.
04:04And why this is important,
04:05this is the battle for the points right here with these guys,
04:08you know, how close they are.
04:10So they want to continue to racing.
04:12And at least they don't want anybody on the West Coast
04:15getting between these guys.
04:16A long race to go now.
04:18You've seen that number one creep in.
04:20You've got Anstey fifth, then Boland, and then Deegan.
04:28There's Deegan.
04:28And you can see now he's entering the corner
04:31just as Shimoda is moving out of that turn.
04:35So he's got them in sight.
04:37Got to deal with Anstey first.
04:41Yeah, that was my mistake.
04:42I actually thought Anstey was Deegan.
04:44He's popping in still, but

04:48Pierce Brown, winner of round one of the East is down
04:52and not getting back into the race.
04:54Oh, that's going to be tough for the championship-wise.

05:01So that's going to be a huge blow to him.

05:05Just watching this battle for third and fourth.
05:07And James, imagine if you were in a championship fight and you had to practice and train at the

05:14Well, that's what the situation is for Seth Hamaker and Joe Shimoda.
05:18They both run at the dog pound.
05:19That same facility we talked about with Kate Johnson and SMX Next.
05:22So they know exactly what each other have.
05:25They know their strengths and weaknesses.
05:26They know if they're in shape or not.
05:28So it's just another wrinkle to this battle we're watching unfold.
05:30Yeah, that's definitely tough because there's really no secret.
05:33And I can tell you I wouldn't have any friends left on Sunday.
05:36After his teammates or not, eventually you've got to try to win.
05:40Here's one and two in West battling for fifth.
05:43So it's one and two in points.
05:45Anstey and Deegan.
05:46And then you see the lead group just ahead of them.
05:51Yeah, Hayden Demene right now, like, he looks still pretty calm.
05:55You know, I think for him, the person he probably wants in front is actually Levi
05:59because he has the most experience racing him so far this year.
06:02So maybe Levi's probably going to be worried about looking behind him
06:06as we see Pierce Brown.
06:07It's good to see him get up and off.
06:09But, yeah, I think if I'm Hayden, just get past Max,
06:12make sure I get those points on the West,
06:14and then I'm going to try to close that gap on the number 47.
06:17So as these two battle, Kitchen has about one second on Davies.
06:22And then you see every section of the track.
06:23Sometimes Panmaker and Shimoda close on Davies.
06:27Sometimes Davies pulls back away.
06:28Here we are to the split lane.
06:30Deegan going to try to make a move.

07:06That allows now Cole Davies to make that pass.

07:11Now he can get a gap, possibly get away from his teammates.

07:18and your championship rivals in the East

07:50You've got to see that number one closing very quickly
07:53because they're kind of slowing each other down.
07:55So far they've done a good job of not losing too much,
07:58but now you can see the gap of Cole, Davies
08:00compared to where they were Seth and Joe, that is, a lap ago.
08:05Levi's still in front of them,
08:06but Cole's starting to yank away from these guys.
08:08And number one's coming.
08:10Yep, and they have gotten to Kitchen.
08:12So it's going to be a three-rider fight.
08:13It was Davies, Havaker, Shimoda.
08:16Now it's Kitchen, Havaker, Shimoda.
08:18Havaker going to rail this outside.
08:21See if he can do the same thing Hayden was able to do to Max.
08:26Levi wasn't close enough.
08:28He was a little bit far ahead where Seth couldn't get all the way on the inside,
08:31but if he does it in the same position, he will get past the next lap.
08:37Oh, and then Shimoda made the move.
08:40Used the move speed to get Havaker.
08:42No, the indecision's right there.
08:44He made that pass.

08:47Shimoda was poking fun at himself yesterday,
08:49admitting some of these pass attempts he's tried.
08:52The last couple of weeks have not been very good.
08:54He said part of it is on him,
08:55part of it on struggling with the feel
08:57and the traction in the front of the motorcycle.
09:00Hoping they've got it better this weekend, Will.
09:03Yeah, you talked about it earlier, Jason,
09:05about how he kind of really taken some time off
09:07over the last couple of weeks here during the break,
09:09which is not perhaps what we were expecting to hear
09:11given that he's been vocal about how he needs to sort of play catch-up.
09:15But talking to the crew chief over there
09:18and just the team in general,
09:19they said, look, he had to work incredibly hard.
09:22That was a lot of time off the bike.
09:23And they also said that they trust Joe.
09:26They trust the way he trains.
09:27He has a very strong face.
09:31And more trouble on track here
09:33as Hayden works his way through, guys.
09:34So they just trust Joe and where he's at.
09:36And if you look at him now, he doesn't look like a guy.
09:39He doesn't look like a guy who's been away from training for long.
09:43No, no doubt about it.
09:44And Deegan's got a pretty strong base too.
09:46And he used it to power past Hamaker.
09:49And a look back.
09:50Yeah, he did.
09:51But watch this.
09:51If Hayden gets over this tabletop,
09:53he's jumping this quad that we highlighted earlier.
09:56Oh, he went down.
09:57Yeah.
09:59Levi's just got passed by Joe Shimoda.
10:02And Deegan's right there to pounce his belt.
10:04It has come unraveled for Kitchen,
10:06who was leading this race about five minutes ago.
10:10And this is very costly, by the way, for Hamaker.
10:14Here's Deegan.
10:16Yeah, you see that coming all day long.
10:21So now Deegan, the top west rider on the track.
10:24Is there time for him to go after Shimoda,
10:26who has actually caught Davies for the lead?
10:30Shimoda's right there.
10:33What a race.
10:34This is a huge race.
10:36I mean, this is what Joe does.
10:37He was off on practice, didn't really talk about him.
10:40And then the race had come.
10:41And this is exactly what he does.
10:43And the difference is between last weekend, he's got more time.
10:45So if he can be there, we know how strong Joe is.
10:48And he's got the number one creeping on up.
10:51Man, Davies dropped the hammer halfway through, ripped the lead away,
10:54started playing away, thought maybe it was over.
10:57Shimoda not having it.
10:58Sending it around the outside is the 30.
11:02Here we go.
11:03If he slows down, you see Cole block it,
11:06but that momentum is just going to lead him to the outside.
11:09Oh, Davies was stingy with him.
11:11That's going to slow Shimoda.
11:12And you know, Deegan will get into the picture.
11:14And there he is.
11:17Yeah, if I'm Hayden, I think he's probably just,
11:21he knows he has the pace at this point.
11:23I mean, he's been able to go faster.
11:25Cole ran at 55 that last lap,
11:26so I'm not sure exactly what happened.
11:28He was in the 52s.
11:29Joe's in the 53s.
11:32And Deegan's showing Shimoda a wheel now in multiple sections.

11:41You know, that's what we love so much about these showdowns.
11:45We have all five of the best riders within five seconds.
11:49And for Hayden Deegan, this isn't about points.
11:51This isn't about money.
11:53This is about bragging rights.
11:54He wants to go up there, pass all these guys,
11:57tell him he's the best guy, come from a bad start.
11:59And when he gets on the podium, if he wins this race,
12:01he's going to tell them about it then, too.
12:04This is all about proving he's the best 250 rider in the world one more time.
12:08That's what Hayden Deegan wants to do right here.
12:10No doubt about it.
12:12But meanwhile, Davies and Shimoda,
12:14they have to give it everything they have
12:15because this is championship fight
12:17between those two riders in the East.
12:19And Deegan's looking to spoil it.
12:22And I would say, out of all the guys that's in this field,
12:25these two guys have been the two
12:26that's actually had some success against Hayden Deegan
12:29and in this 250 class.
12:31So not surprising that they're elevating their game.
12:33But they're also in a tough position
12:34because as much as Joe wants to beat Hayden,
12:36he doesn't want to lose any points by making a mistake,
12:39getting caught up with Hayden
12:40and lose points to Cole Davies for the championship.
12:44It's going to be a tough position for all these guys.
12:46The split lane keeps working for Shimoda.
12:49And there's some live traffic up ahead of Davies.
12:56The track is getting really slippery.
13:00Oh, Davies came up short on a triple.
13:03Shimoda saw the opportunity.

13:32And Deegan has come from 10th to 1st.

13:42I mean, I know these guys are ready for a championship,

13:47Hayden made this look pretty easy so far.

14:20But the battle left is a battle potentially
14:23for a share of the point lead to the East.

14:30you're just focused to end on like now passing Cole Davis.

14:33you just want to get him.
14:34And he's got the pace.
