00:00Good morning. Many of us are waking up to scenes like this this morning.
00:04Blue skies and plentiful amounts of sunshine.
00:06Just a little bit of mist here and there and some fog patches,
00:08but those will quickly clear in that strong April sunshine.
00:11So a glorious day to come on Sunday for many parts of England and Wales and Northern Ireland.
00:16The cloud will bubble up as we go through the course of this afternoon,
00:19but fair weather clouds, so most places staying dry.
00:21Just perhaps one or two isolated light showers for Northern Ireland,
00:25the far south of Scotland and northern England by this afternoon.
00:28Now across the far north and east of Scotland, it's a somewhat different day to come.
00:31More on the way of a thicker cloud here and there will be some outbreaks of rain too.
00:35Coupled with that, a fairly keen northwesterly breeze, so feeling disappointingly chilly here.
00:39And the high is no better than 8 or 9 degrees for the very far northeast.
00:43But for most, whilst the temperature is not quite as high as on Saturday in the southeast,
00:47still pleasantly warm nonetheless.
00:49Highs of 13 to 16 degrees in the south with light winds.
00:53Now one or two showers are possible as we go into this evening,
00:56mostly across the far north of England, but perhaps one or two just running down
00:59some eastern coastal regions of England as well.
01:02Now it will stay fairly wet across the northeast of Scotland.
01:05Outbreaks of rain off and on and still fairly breezy here too.
01:09But that will keep temperatures from falling away too much at all.
01:12For other areas, it's set to be another pretty cold night
01:15and there will be a fairly widespread frost once again in the countryside,
01:19possibly temperatures falling down to minus 2, minus 3 in some of the most prone rural spots.
01:24And even in the towns and cities, 3 to 6 degrees by the end of the night.
01:28Possibly one or two fog patches in prone spots as well,
01:31this time most likely across northern Ireland to begin the day on Monday.
01:35But for most, the new working week starts with plenty of sunshine once again.
01:39It will slowly turn cloudy though through the course of the day,
01:42particularly in the east.
01:43And the cloud will be thicker than on Sunday,
01:46so we are expecting some showery outbreaks of rain to develop across more northern
01:49and eastern parts of England in particular.
01:51And across parts of Scotland, well actually here,
01:54we'll see some longer spells of rain gradually spreading their way westwards.
01:57So a disappointingly cool day for some North Sea coastal regions.
02:01Temperatures pegged back at between 10 and 12 degrees in general on the coast here.
02:06But once again, in the best of the sunshine in the south and the southwest,
02:09with light winds, well 13 or 14 degrees won't feel too bad.
02:13Temperatures are on average for the time of year.
02:16Now, any shower rain will tend to fade as we go into Tuesday.
02:19And I'm expecting overall the week ahead to be generally dominated by high pressure.
02:24Now, it's not going to be entirely dry.
02:25There will be one or two showers perhaps at times.
02:27It's not going to be water or sunshine either.
02:29But where we do see the sunshine in the west, it should feel pleasantly warm.
02:33Nonetheless, there will be an increasingly brisk easterly wind developing,
02:37particularly in the south.
02:38And by the time we get to Wednesday,
02:40well that could be quite strong in the southwest of England,
02:42possibly even touching gale force in places.
02:45So, a bit of a mixed week of weather to come,
02:47but certainly no appreciable amounts of rain in the forecast for the time being.
