A dramatic cooldown will follow storms in the Northeast this weekend.

00:00Let's take you into the northeast now where it's feeling like summer, though I know many people
00:04not yet time for summer camp. We've seen the temperatures that were breaking records for our
00:10Wednesday, Baltimore, D.C., Philly, and two locations in New York City. The Queens one is
00:15LaGuardia Airport, which is one of the climate sites, but most of these temperatures in the 90s,
00:20LaGuardia at 88, but breaking a lot of records from 1941, so relatively older records than
00:26Baltimore, a record from 2024. The heat continues as we head into tomorrow. Take a look. We're at 80 in
00:33New York, 84 in D.C., but we are starting to see a change as we get into the 60s
00:40in Buffalo, Boston.
00:41Well, you've never really gotten to the summer-like warmth that many others have, but 65 can't complain
00:47too much, but we'll see some thunderstorms, though, so something to be prepared for. A bigger
00:52cool down on the way. It's tracking with the systems, bringing severe weather that we are
00:59tracking, mainly the storm that's going to be moving through tomorrow and Saturday. Yes, bringing
01:04severe weather, the heat helping to fuel that, but then things dropping rapidly after that. So we start
01:10off the weekend with the rainfall, and if you're along the east coast Sunday, that's when a lot of you
01:15are going to see the rain, but then there's that cooler air behind it. Again, we do have severe weather
01:20Saturday. This is the area we're most concerned about with a level two out of four moderate risk
01:24area. All types of severe weather you should be ready for, including a few tornadoes, but then
01:31we will start to see a cool down. Again, if you're along the coast, you really never have gotten
01:36out of the 50s and the 60s, haven't seen the summer-like warmth that we've seen further inland,
01:41but here's what I'm talking about. By Sunday afternoon, again, the coast, things are a little bit
01:49good for it.
