00:00So thunderstorms are still on the map. We have our lightning indicators here. There are some occasional lightning strikes in the past hour, but overall the trend for most of the activity from Binghamton to Scranton down to Hazleton and west into Lockhaven and Williamsport, less lightning now than there was a bit ago.
00:16There is still a good deal of lightning approaching Buffalo off of the east side of Lake Erie. So Dunkirk all the way up into Orchard Park and Hamburg and some spots just south of Buffalo. Get ready for a thunderstorm to come in off of the lake. Also some occasional rumbles of thunder have been heard near Rochester, New York with some showers there. And again, a little bit of thunderstorm activity as well.
00:36So we've got to keep an eye out for these bursts of rain. There will be more on Thursday for many of us, but temperatures are way down. Take a look at these readings here. We are dealing with 70s for most of us, 65 in Buffalo, 65 in Alpena, Michigan. The warmest spot on the map is Washington, D.C., which has bounced back up to 81. But even there, that's not that bad at all for this time of the year.
00:58So here's the big bubble of blue where we're looking at record challenging cool air tonight and again tomorrow night. So widespread 40s and 50s. Some of you who are dealing with these brief downpours today and maybe central Pennsylvania or western New York, you can expect to see some patchy fog in the morning as well. Temperatures should have no trouble cooling down to the dew point near the Kentucky River and into other areas east of there into Jackson, Kentucky and Breathitt County.
01:22We're going to break a record low by 6 degrees tomorrow. Record low is 56. We're going to hit 50 most likely. Your official AccuWeather forecast in Springfield, Illinois. Here you can see the records go back to the 1800s. Record low 51, initially set in 1885. We're going to be 2 degrees colder than that, so the coldest August 27th in Springfield, Illinois in more than 140 years. Pretty impressive stuff. And Evansville, Indiana should break a record low as well. Some brief showers to the north of I-80 tomorrow up in New England, perhaps parts of New York and Pennsylvania.
01:52But Damien, the better chance for showers and even some thunderstorms rolls in on Thursday with this little disturbance that kicks through Detroit on Thursday morning and it moves into New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio during the afternoon.
