Wet weather is bringing an end to days of high temperatures across the Northeast.
Transcript
00:00While we're not talking about widespread severe weather into the northeast, we do have some rain and thunderstorms to talk
00:06about.
00:06So tonight, I mean, the Ohio Valley is the focus for a few severe storms.
00:10As we head into the overnight, though, this is where we just get steady rain.
00:16Beneficial to a point, but we're talking a general 1 to 2 inches.
00:20So could lead to a little bit of ponding, a little bit of flash flooding.
00:22Just something to keep in mind as you head out and about first thing tomorrow.
00:26Let's play this out on future radar, give you an idea of how everything goes.
00:31So we have been very spotty with our thunderstorms, especially into Pennsylvania so far through the evening.
00:37But as we head later towards the overnight, the more widespread rain is going to start to move in.
00:41And you can see there's that stripe developing and we have the yellows and the oranges.
00:45So some of the heavier rainfall that will lead to the 1 to 2 inch totals I told you about,
00:50but also could lead to a little bit of ponding or flash flooding.
00:52So this is even Saturday morning.
00:54We're still dealing with this continuing on through time here.
00:57It takes us a while to get rid of this because of where at the center of our storm system,
01:03that core of low pressure is located.
01:05So we're at 10 p.m. Saturday.
01:07A lot of the same areas still seeing the downpours.
01:10And by the time we get to Sunday, well, they've just kind of moved up along the coast.
01:14So from Richmond to D.C., New York and up towards Boston, we still have some rainfall lingering throughout our
01:20Sunday morning.
01:21A lot of the northeast, it's going to be drier and this is your day to get outside compared to
01:26Saturday.
01:26This is the better day if you want to avoid the rain.
01:29But Sunday, 7 p.m.
01:30And I'm in Boston, you're still in the thick of it.
01:32So it's really the opposite situation for you.
01:35It even continues into Monday.
01:36Keep that in mind for your morning commute could run into a few problems just because you know how it
01:41goes whenever there's rain, even if it's not a lot.
01:43And then another round starts to move in, so it's going to be a rainy week ahead, that's for sure.
