5 months after speaking to their CEO Dr. Robert Record MD (& 2 months following being connected lawyer Deborah Pickens I am still awaiting a letter containing the results of an August, 2023 board meeting regarding several outstanding issues that arose during my 2 visits with their NP & MD in 2019.
A "He said she said" exchange of "who called who and when" consumed valuable time in both this call and the previous call with CEO Dr. Robert Record.

I had a broken skull injury I almost died from - 3 inch long insects & worms grew in the wound (SEE X-RAYS / MRI / CT IN VIDEOS). Pickens confirmed in a recorded telephone call that a letter containing the outcome of an investigation & hearing into my issues would arrive shortly following. As of October, 2023 I am still awaiting this letter. Pickens mentions an investigation into my issues resulted in a determination that I received proper care during my visit (I continue to assert I DID NOT RECEIVE PROPER CARE) and there is nothing more they can do to address my concerns.

run-down of issues:
-Received no measurable level of service in my visit.
-charged same amount ($110) to see a doctor (MD) as a nurse (NP).
-Christ Health is partners with Ascension / St. Vincent's Hospital, it looks like Christ Health either decided to ignore my injury or were ordered to ignore my injury to protect the reputations and million dollar salaries of the "professionals" involved.
-MD refused to give me a referral for mri, broken bone showed up in ct he claimed to have reviewed in detail (SEE RECORDS IN VIDEOS).
-Billed $50 for hemoglobin blood test and electrocardiogram I never received (services not rendered) (taking money from people who have nothing is obscene).
-Nurse wrote in her report she suspected "psych etiology" (WRONG - broken skull bone is visible in the images (SEE MRI - CT - XRAY)).
-Nurse agreed to give referral when I secured mri, I was given 3 avenues to pursue financial assistance all three lead to dead ends, I did not qualify. After I paid $500 CASH out of pocket for MRI the diagnostic center needed the referral I informed them to call Christ Health, they were put on hold 15 minutes before someone at Christ Health hung up the phone (they backed out on giving the referral?).
-An MD I had no interaction with also strangely edited and signed off on my records and chart days following visit (I complained about my service issues before this).
-I believe I may have been "patient dumped" (see EMTALA) in the course of my seeking treatment.

Pickens possesses no medical credentials but identifies herself as a lawyer. She proceeded to speak about medical and health care related information but neglected to mention a medically qualified person (ALABAMA LICENSED DOCTOR OR NURSES NAME) from which those opinions originated (NOT PROFESSIONAL).

00:19Yes, um, you had indicated that you wanted to talk to me and so I was returning your
00:27call.
00:28I spoke to your CEO, Dr. Robert Records, okay, and this was in May.
00:34He told me that you were going to look at some issues that I had done.
00:39I spoke to him for 30 minutes and went through my issues in rather intricate detail.
00:47He told me you were going to contact me.
00:49Can you tell me why it took seven weeks for you to return my call initially?
00:55I returned your call.
00:57In seven weeks.
00:58In the same day that you talked with Dr. Record.

01:04I didn't get that message.

01:13Well, I'm telling you, I didn't receive your call, so it doesn't, it doesn't really matter

01:20I spoke to Dr. Robert Records May 17th, and it's now August 14th.
01:26This is a substantial amount of time for issues that you probably could have solved in a couple
01:32days.
01:33And will you confirm your date of birth, please?
01:35No, I will not.
01:36Well, I can't get into your charge.
01:37I do not cooperate with people who have tried to harm me.
01:41This was a May 17th telephone conversation with Deborah Pickens.
01:46Her official title is listed variously.
01:50One source on the internet mentions she is the Director of Administrative Services.
01:56CEO Robert Record, who I spoke to in May 2023, in a 30-minute phone call, he referred to this
02:06person as a compliance officer, was told she was going to call me after taking a look at
02:14my situation, and we did not get connected on the telephone until August 14th.
02:20I was a patient for Christ Health Center, Dr. Terry Daniel Smith, MD, as well as nurse
02:28practitioner, Anna Musgraves, in 2019.
02:33I had a broken skull injury and head trauma that I almost died from.
02:38The wound became infected with parasites, as well as three-inch-long insects and worms that
02:46you can see in various x-rays, MRI, and CT that I had done.
02:51At the time I visited Christ Health Center, I was trying to get an MRI scan, and I had a
02:59lot of trouble doing this.
03:00I believe that some person involved in my healthcare and treatment may have gone to some length to
03:08deny me healthcare, specifically more detailed scans on this area, because days before the
03:15Christ Health visit, I went to the Ascension St. Vincent's East Emergency Department, where I had
03:22a computed tomography scan of my head and cervical area of my neck.
03:27I was misdiagnosed in that scan.
03:30The radiologist and the doctors in the emergency room, they would not note an injury that I later
03:38found in the images.
03:41And I'll put them up here so everybody can see.
03:43My rundown of issues with Christ Health Center, Birmingham, Alabama, I believe I received no
03:49measurable level of service in my visit.
03:52I was charged the same amount of money, $110, to see the doctor and MD as the nurse, a nurse
04:02practitioner.
04:03Other medical practices around Birmingham, I paid roughly half of that price.
04:11Christ Health is partners with Ascension St. Vincent's Hospital, and it looks like either
04:17Christ Health decided to ignore my injury or were ordered to ignore my injury.
04:23And I believe this is to protect the reputations and million-dollar salaries of the, quote, professionals,
04:29unquote, involved.
04:31I also believe it may have been patient-dumped, and that's a violation of EMTALA, E-M-T-A-L
04:37-A,
04:38in the course of my seeking treatment.
04:40I was a self-paid patient.
04:42I had no insurance, and I could provide no stated source of income.
04:47Dr. Terry Daniel Smith, MD, outright refused to grant me a referral for an MRI.
04:54Just a few days later, I got that MRI.
04:57I had to pay cash out of pocket, and broken bone surrounded by infection shows up in that
05:03scan.
05:04Broken bone also shows up in the CT scan.
05:08And he claims in his notes in my medical chart to have reviewed in detail.
05:13I was billed $50 for a hemoglobin blood test and electrocardiogram I never received.
05:21And yeah, I think taking money from people who don't have anything, such as myself, is obscene.
05:28Nurse Musgraves wrote in her report that she suspected psych etiology to explain my symptomology.
05:34And this is absolutely wrong.
05:37Broken skull bone is visible in the MRI, CT, and X-ray that I've had done.
05:43Nurse practitioner Anna Musgraves agreed to give a referral when I secured my MRI.
05:50So I had to go out and find another medical practice with the equipment who could do the scan.
05:57I was given three avenues of financial assistance to pursue, and all three of these led to dead
06:04ends.
06:05I did not qualify.
06:07This is for Ascension Access to Care, Cooper Green Hospital, and UAB Hospital in Birmingham,
06:14Alabama.
06:14After I paid $500 cash out of pocket for an MRI at American Health Imaging in downtown Birmingham
06:23on the south side, the diagnostic center staff told me that they needed a medical referral.
06:31I informed them to call Christ Health Center in Woodlawn.
06:36They were put on hold 15 minutes, and then someone, we don't know who, at Christ Health
06:42Center hung up the telephone.
06:45They backed out on giving that referral.
06:47And this backs up the fact that I believe somebody didn't want me to get this MRI scan
06:54because it would show the truth of an injury that I was told I did not have.
06:58A medical doctor I had no interaction with, also strangely edited, and signed off on my
07:06records and chart days following that visit.
07:10This was shortly after I lodged my first official complaint for lack of service from Christ Health.
07:18This doctor was Beverly Vanderpool.
07:21All right, so in this August 2023 call, Debra Pickens, who identified herself as a lawyer,
07:29explains to me that my complaints that I brought to Christ Health Center, which I just named,
07:36they went through a committee in August.
07:39There was an investigation conducted.
07:42And Christ Health determined that the care that I received was appropriate.
07:47I believe I did not receive appropriate care.
07:50I put all my records from this visit in several hours worth of video on YouTube channel,

08:03Debra Pickens also tells me that a letter with a statement was going to be put in the mail
08:10to me after that August 2023 meeting.
08:14I'm doing this recording October 3rd, 2023.
08:19And what I can say is I have not yet received this promised letter.
08:24They know my address too because they sent me those bills for those medical services that
08:29weren't performed on me.
08:31So people out there looking at health care options in the Birmingham, Alabama area,
08:36please take my experience to heart.
08:39And I would advise that you look elsewhere when seeking medical treatment from a doctor or a nurse.
