Dr. Savage & OrthoAlabama are partners with Ascension Saint Vincent's, see my other videos for my dealings with them.

The Trussville Tribune Newspaper recently regrettably published (December 6th, 2023) an article by OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports / Orthopedic Dr. Perry L. Savage Sr. MD. The newspaper should have done more research on patient experiences with this MD before giving him their platform to promote himself and generate trust for his business within their community.

I have no services to show from my $300 cash visit, a misdiagnosed reading on MRI, CT and X-Rays in 2019 and obligations to return calls that were never made good on. This issue remains unresolved. Prospective patients out there: be aware of this MD and practice.

In 2022 I attempted to contact OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports / Orthopedic Dr. Perry L. Savage Sr. MD regarding misdiagnosis from a 9/14/19 visit at their Birmingham, Alabama clinic. I present images of my own head, clearly showing the issues (several inch diameter head trauma) which were not acknowledged by this 50 year professional, who graduated from The University Of Alabama School Of Medicine in 1968. I showed many of these images to Doctor Savage and was told they were normal and showed no problems. I paid this man $300 for his experienced opinion. In this call I speak with Orlean Bruce their office manager.

Physician Assistant Ben Jeter P.A.-C. sat in during this exam. He entered the room and never introduced himself. Dr. Savage never introduced him to me as well. When Savage wasn't looking at my CT, X-Ray and MRI images on the exam room PC, Jeter thumbed through the images. I showed the doctor a few of the frames containing my 3 inch diameter basilar skull damage and was told no injury appeared there even as I sat struggling to hold my head up on my shoulders after waiting 2 hours to see him. Jeter silently observed. When I left, this man told me someone in their office would call me about a UAB neurosurgery referral in a few days time (Why was I referred to a neurologist if the doctor said I had no injury?). This never happened, After about a week I had to call OrthoAlabama myself and found the appointment had been made although I never was notified. I was put on a 3 month waiting list for a referal at UAB. This injury needed imediate attention. This is not professional. I believe Savage had the skills to tell me I had a problem in this area even if he could not elaborate.

I believe I may have been "patient dumped" (a violation of EMTALA) in the course of my seeking treatment for my injury by Saint Vincent's Hospital doctors, Birmingham, Alabama (Ascension) and misdiagnoses were used to circumvent this law. This pronouncement made it virtually impossible to get an accurate diagnosis elsewhere. I was also disabled and could not claim disability. My psychological state was routinely challenged because I claimed the doctors had missed the main injury. My concerns were unfairly dismissed and ignored.

00:00All right, as always, you can go to YouTube channel My Medical Nightmare and see 40 plus hours video on
00:08everything that happened to me.
00:10All right, the Trustful Tribune newspaper has recently published an article by Dr. Perry L. Savage Sr. of OrthoAlabama Spine
00:21& Sports, article dated December 6, 2023.
00:27One of their practices is located at 1801 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama, 35235.
00:35Yeah, it's real close to Trustful. I guess the city of Trustful wanted too much cut of their revenue for
00:43them to actually build within the city limits of Trustful.
00:47So that's interesting.
00:48I find it regrettable that the Trustful Tribune has saw fit to publish this article by Dr. Savage, and it's
00:58based on my experience as a patient going to this medical practice and paying $300 to be examined by this
01:09doctor.
01:09And I'll play my last phone call to OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports and Dr. Savage later on in this video
01:19and explain some details about what happened to me.
01:22You can find hours of documentation on my experience at my YouTube channel, My Medical Nightmare.
01:29Prospective patients out there, if you live in the community around Trustful, Alabama, you're thinking about going to this doctor
01:38and this medical practice, please think again. Reconsider.
01:42I was referred to this clinic after a visit to American Family Care. That's AFC Urgent Care. I later found
01:52that clinic was employing state of Alabama licensed medical doctors who were giving out false names to patients. That's against
02:01the law.
02:01When I got to 50-year experience orthopedic surgeon Perry L. Savage Sr. in 2019, I had a broken skull
02:13injury that I almost died from, 6 inches of infection present in my head, improperly attended to and untreated, and
02:23I had 3-inch long insects and parasites that had grown in this wound.
02:28All of these are visible in medical imagery, which you can see on screen, and in other videos on my
02:35YouTube channel.
02:37And yeah, I think Dr. Savage, after 50 years, he's probably seen about every bone injury possible.
02:44I showed him CT MRI and X-ray on a CD-ROM where we're both looking at the same computer
02:50screen.
02:51Clear injuries in diagnostic medical images.
02:55And he sat there looking at these images, and he told me with a straight face that I had no
03:00injuries present.
03:01I was uninsured. I was a self-paid patient.
03:04No source of income, and I believe I was patient-dumped by Dr. Savage and Ortho Alabama Spine and Sports
03:12because of this status.
03:14This is unacceptable.
03:15People out there, yeah, when you read these warm and fuzzy articles, think twice and do your research on these
03:25millionaire doctors.
03:26Here's my call to Ortho Alabama Spine and Sports.
03:30This is from 2022.
03:33I have yet to receive a return phone call from this.
03:37I've been trying to get resolution in this issue for four years.
03:41They got my money, $300 cash.
03:44I got no services, and that's where it stands.
03:49Thank you for calling.
03:51Ortho Alabama, how can I direct your call?
03:54Yes, ma'am. I'm trying to reach Orlean Bruce.
03:57Okay.
04:00She is currently out of her office.
04:03Would you like to leave her a voicemail?
04:05Yeah, she just called me about a minute or two ago.
04:08Oh, she did?
04:09Okay, I'll try her.
04:11What's your name?
04:12Well, wait a minute. I thought she was out of her office.
04:14Is she back in her office now?
04:16Well, it's a little early, but she could have been back by now.
04:20Yeah, you said it was a little bit early for what?
04:22I'm going to be back from her lunch break.
04:27Okay, can you tell me what you do at Ortho Alabama Spine and Sports?
04:31I'm the office manager.
04:33Okay, yeah.
04:33So I had an issue with one of my visits.
04:38Okay, you want to tell me about it?
04:40Yeah, I sure do.
04:42Okay.
04:43This was on September 4th, 2019.
04:47So I came in.
04:48Yeah, I came in.
04:49I had an appointment.
04:51Waited about two hours before I saw this doctor.
04:54Yeah, and I had an appointment at 3 o'clock.
04:57Waited two hours after my appointment.
04:58So I didn't leave this place until probably like 6 o'clock in the evening.
05:03But yeah, anyways, I saw Dr. Perry L. Savage Sr.
05:09Uh-huh.
05:09And I came out, I was complaining about major neck pain.
05:14Okay.
05:15So I saw this doctor, and this man, he graduated 1968 Alabama School of Medicine.
05:22He's been a doctor, orthopedic doctor, for 50 years.
05:25Okay.
05:26So he's probably seen about every injury that's possible.
05:30That's my guess.
05:30Uh-huh.
05:31So, okay, I went in, I brought in CT images, MRI pictures, and x-rays.
05:38And I showed this man MRI and CT images that show that I had a broken skull.
05:46I had broken the underside of my skull in the area of the occipital condyle and condylar canal.
05:52Possibly foreman magnum was also fractured or broken.
05:55And by the time I got into his office, also this area had become infected over the course of about
06:03a year where it had gone unmanaged.
06:06And yeah, in the MRI pictures, you can see infection that goes out about 6 inches in diameter.
06:12It's in my jaw, my upper neck below this injury.
06:16So anyways, yeah, I showed these images with injuries to this very experienced doctor, Perry L. Savage Sr.
06:22And he told me with a straight face when I was pointing out these injuries in these pictures, that I
06:28had no injuries in my MRIs and CTs.
06:31And he even wrote this in his records that he had looked at the CT that I had done at
06:38Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital.
06:40It's right down the road from you guys.
06:41So yeah, I wanted to try to get in touch with Dr. Perry L. Savage.
06:45Paid $300 for this visit, and I feel that I didn't get adequate services for my money that I paid.
06:50I'm wondering if he would like a chance to correct this error, because he misdiagnosed me.
07:01I'm sure he gave you his opinion.
07:04He gave me the wrong opinion, ma'am.
07:07It's incorrect. I have injuries here.
07:10This doctor's job, and what I paid him to do, was to diagnose this injury.
07:14He did not do that.
07:18Well, I will be happy to relay your concern with him.
07:25Okay, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.
07:28Yeah, I certainly am.
07:30And actually, I'm not happy about what happened to me either, ma'am.
07:37I will be happy to let Dr. Savage know.
07:39Yeah, please do that.
07:41Okay.
07:42So he'll call me back when?
07:46Sir, I don't know.
07:48I don't have his schedule in front of me.
07:50I don't...
07:52He's in clinic all day today.
07:55I can't give you a time.
07:56Okay, yeah, this is a very serious matter, what happened to me.
08:00It should concern you as well.
08:02You should be in the business of helping people with injuries.
08:07We do help people with injuries.
08:09Yeah, who?
08:14Who?
08:15Because he didn't help me.
08:19I would be happy to relay this conversation to Dr. Savage.
08:22Yes, please do, ma'am.
08:24And I'll wait that call from him.
08:27Thank you for your call.
