I mention an October, 2023 review published on the indeed.com website by a currently employed nurse who describes nationwide American medical provider Ascension As a "Sinking Shjp". She mentions:

"It’s been devastating to watch how Ascension has absolutely destroyed St Vincent in their take over. There is a mass exodus of providers in our community due to poor business practices, the disaster that is the centralized scheduling, and the company’s inability to retain adequate staffing to support their providers. There is a steady outflow of their most seasoned and dedicated employees which is resulting in many new staff members being forced to work as a skeleton crew. So many dangerous patient situations."

This resonates with issues I encountered as a patient in recent years. I replay My October. 13th, 2021 phone call to Ascension CEO Joseph Impicciche who's hospital oversight network includes Ascension Saint Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Between 2018-2019 I was an emergency department patient at Ascension St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I believe I had broken my neck. I had an X-Ray, 2 CT scans and later an MRI looked at by Ascension Vincent's doctors, each time they told me I had no injuries in this area. I knew their diagnosis was in error as my condition worsened. The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer 2019. I almost died. I obtained my medical records from their hospital along with the X-Ray / CT / MRI imagery and discovered the truth of my injury. I had broken bone in the underside of my skull in the area of the condylar canal and occipital condyle (possibly my foramen magnum was also fractured). How the doctors could have missed such a large and serious injury over multiple hospital visits is inexcusable. I believe some element of organized corruption may exist in this hospital. I have compiled over 10 hours video documentation on what happened to me on my youtube channel:

My Medical Nightmare

I may have been "patient dumped" in the course of my seeking treatment (a violation of EMTALA). When I told medical staff associated with Ascension about my discovery, I was personally attacked and my psychological state challenged, this is reflected in medical records I obtained later. I could not obtain proper treatment or misdiagnosis for this injury or even claim disability (I have been seriously disabled for over 3 years with no recourse) because doctors and nurses would only entertain what the erroneous Ascension ER findings were. My mother who was a nurse for 20 years had the misfortune of working in an Ascension hospital when I questioned my mri findings involving St Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network LLC and doctor Michael Brant Ruff in March, 2019. She was terminated from her job there at the same time. I challenge the misdiagnosis of ascension Saint Vincent's Hospital here again as well as the policy of the hospital administration.

00:00All right, so to see everything that happened to me regarding my injury, please see my YouTube
00:07channel, My Medical Nightmare.
00:09All right, I wanted to share this employee review as posted to the Indeed.com website.
00:17If you want to know the real situation with how local medical practices and doctors conduct
00:26their business, go to this website, type in the name of the hospital or practice, and
00:33check out some of the reviews of the people who worked for them.
00:38So this review was submitted October 12, 2023.
00:43This is current.
00:44This is for Ascension, who operates several hospitals in the Birmingham, Alabama area, including
00:52St. Vincent's, downtown on the south side, and St. Vincent's East.
00:57Following mentioning this review, I'll play my phone call to Ascension CEO Joseph Impiccicay,
01:05where I, as a patient, ran into some of these issues that will eventually lead to the failure
01:12of this medical company.
01:15This was submitted by a registered nurse, current employee.
01:19She's located in Kokomo, Indiana.
01:22This nurse describes Ascension as a sinking ship and writes here,
01:28it's been devastating to watch how Ascension has absolutely destroyed St. Vincent in their
01:35takeover.
01:37There's a mass exodus of providers in our community due to poor business practices.
01:43There's a steady outflow of their most seasoned and dedicated employees, which is
01:49resulting in many new staff members being forced to work as a skeleton crew.
01:54So many dangerous patient situations.
01:58Practices are being closed left and right.
02:01As it currently stands, it does not appear as though the future of this company is bright.
02:07My own experience as a patient being misdiagnosed repeatedly with a life-threatening injury is
02:15that corruption has consumed this medical company.
02:18And it's a wrap.
02:20This place is finished.
02:21In the state of Alabama, around Birmingham, the amount of influence and power that Ascension
02:28wields is considerable.
02:30Even with seemingly unrelated doctors, nurses, and medical practices, what I found was you
02:40peel back a layer and there's a direct connection to Ascension.
02:44I think many of these practices may be set up as shell companies.
02:49There are interlocking boards of directors, and the actual construction of the facilities
02:58appear to be joint efforts.
03:01Ascension will put up a large share of the funds if they can draw in local partners.
03:07And then back in all this stuff is some of the worst levels of corrupt business practices
03:15that exist in many communities in the United States of America.
03:20These are big scams they're running.
03:23Thank you for calling Ascension.
03:25At this time, our administrative office is closed and our associates are working from home
03:29to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
03:31To leave a message in the General Delivery Mailbox, please press 2.
03:37You've reached the Ascension System Office General Mailbox.
03:40After the tone, leave a detailed message and someone will respond to your call.
03:48I'm trying to reach CEO Joseph Impechike, and he can contact me at that number.
03:54And I have a message that I would like to give to Ascension.
03:58Between 2018 and 2019, I was an emergency department patient at Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital
04:06in Birmingham, Alabama.
04:07I believe I had broken my neck.
04:09I had an x-ray, two CT scans, and later an MRI looked at by Ascension St. Vincent's doctors.
04:17Each time they had told me I had no injuries in this area, I knew their diagnosis was an error
04:23as my condition worsened.
04:26The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer of 2019.
04:31I almost died.
04:32I obtained my medical records from your hospital along with the x-ray, CT, MRI imagery, and
04:38discovered the truth of my injury.
04:39I had broken bone in the underside of my skull in the area of the condylar canal and occipital
04:45condyle.
04:46How the doctors could have missed such a large and serious injury over multiple hospital
04:50visits is inexcusable.
04:51I believe some element of organized corruption may exist in this hospital.
04:56I have compiled over 10 hours of video documentation on what happened to me on my YouTube channel.
05:04The name of the channel is My Medical Nightmare.
05:07I believe I may have been a victim of patient dumping in the course of my seeking treatment,
05:13which is a violation of EMTALA, E-M-T-A-L-A.
05:17When I told medical staff associated with Ascension about my discovery that I had been misdiagnosed
05:24repeatedly, I was personally attacked and my psychological state was challenged, and this
05:29is reflected in medical records I obtained later.
05:33I could not obtain proper treatment or diagnosis for this injury because doctors and nurses that
05:41I would subsequently have encounters with would only entertain what the erroneous Ascension
05:47ER findings were.
05:48My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years, had the misfortune of working in an Ascension
05:54hospital when I questioned my MRR findings involving St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare
06:00Network, LLC, and Dr. Michael Brandt Ruff, MD, radiologist, in March 2019.
06:08My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years and worked in the Ascension hospital, she was terminated
06:12from her job there around the same time.
06:15And so this phone call, I challenge the misdiagnosis of Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital, Birmingham,
06:23Alabama, and I challenge the policy of this hospital.
06:27And Mr. Impechike, I think you need to look into this, please.
06:32Please listen to my message, look into what I'm saying, and you're free to contact me.
