00:08Since the release of the movie Tokyo Drift back in June 2006, interest in this sport has been steadily increasing
00:15in TNT and is one of the main disciplines that attracts the younger fans.
00:26Owner of Drift Games TT David Passant says the planning of this weekend's event was done mainly with family involvement
00:33in mind.
00:34So basically Drift Games is designed for the people and for young drifters as well.
00:40So we are the only group that have a Pro 3 category that invented it to get new drivers to
00:46come on board.
00:47So from Pro 3 you would advance to Pro 2, from Pro 2 you would advance to Pro 1.
00:52Sometimes people just get intimidated so you just group them in every level.
00:59So you have Pro 1, Pro 2, Pro 3, you have a lot of giveaways for spectators, prizes for the
01:04drivers as well.
01:22And the judging for the event will be done by a panel of local judges and will involve the use
01:27of multiple action drones to ensure accuracy.
01:30Now that's for the competitors. But what can the fans expect?
01:34Plenty competition. Very stiff competition. We also have the youngest drifter in the Caribbean. He's 11.
01:43So his dad was a drifter a long time and he focused on his son. Sebastian being the youngest, 11
01:51years, we have 14 years, 15 years, 16 years, 17 years.
01:56There is also going to be a different flavour to this event.
02:00So not everybody will sit down and watch drifting for 6 to 8 hours.
02:05They would want something else to do, they would want to walk around, they would show their kids other stuff.
02:10So the car show section has to integrate with that as well.
02:14So while they drift going on that run independently by itself.
02:16So for those of you sitting on that lazy boy, wondering where can I take the family out for something
02:23unique, different and exciting?
02:25If you come and enjoy yourself, we have a lot of giveaways by the gate.
02:28And we try to be as free as possible for all the drifters in China and Tobago.
02:35And also coming later in the year, we have a few surprises with some other foreign drifters as well.
02:39Entrance fee is $70 and the first tyre spin, donuts and figure eights begins at 6pm and closes off when
02:46the clock strikes 12.
