00:00Coach Riyad Emreth is hungry for victory, taking the TNT Red Force to the regional Super 50 title he believes will lift the spirit of the country.
00:08You know, it would be nice to win a title, first official 50 of a charge, so it would be nice to win.
00:16But it's not about me, you know, it's about the guys putting in the hard work and, you know, when they win, I guess everybody wins.
00:23So, it's the entire nation wins, you know.
00:27At present, the team is missing a few players who are representing the West Indies, but he says it's not all bad.
00:33Fortunately and unfortunately, we'll be missing a lot of guys on international duty.
00:39I think it's five or six guys on international duty, so we know that the guys who are here, they are vying for spots on international circuit as well.
00:50So, it is important, very important, that they understand their roles and they want to go on to the next level.
00:56Can you make recommendations for players to be on the West Indies team? So, in other words, do you interact with Darren Sami at all?
01:03We have discussions. You know, I cannot tell him who to pick and who not to pick, but we have discussions about players and who they are looking at and that sort of thing.
01:13In the meantime, he says his main objective is to change the culture of the team towards being more professional and, in the process, win matches.
01:20So, what objectives have you set out for them for this season?
01:24You know, we want to win tournaments. You know, that's the most important thing, but it's a process to win the tournaments.
01:32Again, the culture, if you change the culture, the way we practice, that's one thing that I have seen a change in.
01:39Guys wanting to practice, guys wanting to be here, guys wanting to hit a lot more balls, guys wanting to bowl a lot more balls.
01:45So, that's one thing that's covered.
