00:00I did listen to Andrew Barry's comments on Deshaun.
00:02I did listen to Jimmy, and it still sounds like selling a fight to me.
00:06I'm not saying you won't start week one.
00:07It still sounds like an organization, though, that is trying to normalize something that is not normal,
00:12that a guy who is considered the worst trade in NFL history could start week one of the fifth season
00:19that he's been here
00:20when he's played 19 games and done diddly squat on the field is a wild play.
00:26And the fact that Jimmy is even on board with the public messaging is like, oh, that's a shame.
00:31Well, you know why he's on board.
00:33He's on board because the obvious read here is that 2026 just doesn't matter that much to them.
00:37They're about 2027.
00:38And so if you're not focused in on 2026, we could throw Fred Flintstone out there, a quarterback.
00:43They don't really care.
00:45I'm still not willing to admit Deshaun actually has a real chance to start week one.
00:48I'm not saying he's not.
00:49I guess my point is I shouldn't say that.
00:52I think he has a realistic chance, whatever you think that is, of starting.
00:55Yeah, I mean, he's going to be able to be in the competition.
00:57At least that's what it seems like.
00:58I also think if Deshaun starts week one, it's because Shador didn't do something that the Browns wanted him to
01:04do.
01:04Well, I've already put the tinfoil hat on when it comes to that.
01:06I'm convinced that if Shador doesn't start week one and they're trying to tell us that Deshaun Watson's a better
01:11quarterback,
01:12it'll be when they did it with Dylan Gabriel.
01:13I just won't believe it.
01:15I'll just believe the rub is in.
01:16I just feel like this is the point in the program.
01:19It's nice to be back.
01:21Good to see everyone.
01:22Has it hit yet?
01:22You said until Tuesday.
01:23Has it hit yet?
01:24No, is that why we led with this?
01:27To see if we could rage bait?
01:28Get out of the way first.
01:29And then we ease into everything else.
01:31I think this is the point where I get to remind the Haslams and Andrew Barry and the Browns,
01:37you don't have to do this.
01:39You really don't.
01:40There's nothing in the bylaws that says, just because he's got to be on the roster,
01:43because of the stupidest contract in NFL history, that you actually have to play him.
01:48Right?
01:49I'm not trying.
01:50I've been angry sometimes.
01:52I've used a lot of force on this one.
01:53I'm just going to use logic.
01:55Everybody keeps saying, well, it's logical.
01:58He's under contract.
02:00He's going to be on the roster.
02:01So it's only logical he would be.
02:03And it's like, Dylan Gabriel is apparently in the witness protection program.
02:07We can't find the little fella.
02:08Oh, he's tiny.
02:09Because, one, Kevin Stefanski drafted him, and I've never been more certain of anything
02:13in my life before.
02:14And two, because they clearly don't want him to be any part of the quarterback conundrum.
02:19Right?
02:20Well, the writing's on the wall with Dylan, it seems like.
02:22Yeah, but the writing is also on the wall in some sort of blood ink because of that contract.
02:29He's also a short timer here.
02:30So, again, just bringing it back here.
02:33This is the loving Nick Wilson.
02:35This is the I was on vacation and really enjoyed my family for nine days, Nick Wilson.
02:39Yeah.
02:39You don't have to do this.
02:40No, they don't have to.
02:41Come on, slugger.
02:41You can be better.
02:42But there's enough people across the NFL that have come on and have tried to make the same
02:46case that Albert's been making with us for months now.
02:48And there's an intrigue that exists across the NFL for Deshaun Watson that you and I just
02:53don't have.
02:54We don't own it.
02:55This is just not something that me and you really enjoy or want to see or really think is even
03:00possible.
03:00But there's enough NFL people out there that are convinced that Deshaun Watson can do
03:04something close to what he did six years ago.
03:07For me, it's long gone.
03:08But this is what they're up against.
03:10And if enough NFL people believe it, then it's obvious to believe that they can believe
03:14it themselves.
03:14And I want to know what stinks with that as well.
03:17Well, that's the part that makes no sense.
03:18Because so many of those people were the people that completely badgered and battered the
03:24Browns for making this trade five years ago in the first place.
03:27And now, because I don't know, Shador isn't good enough to the media or because Shador
03:32pissed some people off in the NFL last year, somehow Deshaun is the lesser of two evils.
03:37That's how it reads.
03:38Yeah.
03:38It reads that way for a lot of national people.
03:40Explain that one to me.
03:42Yeah.
03:42No, it doesn't make sense.
03:42Again, me and you, it doesn't make sense to us.
03:44But for a lot of national people out there, this is what they're going to.
03:47And it's easy because it's like a science experiment.
03:50They get to go ahead and see it while not having to live the results day in, day out.
03:53It stinks for us, but for them, they're like, maybe you can get something from a guy that
03:57hasn't done anything in six years.
03:58And who morally we were really against five years ago, but I guess everything totally changed.
04:04And has been injured the three years he's been on the field with you every single seven,
04:08eight, nine games in.
04:09Hey, I, I'm really against 20 plus lawsuits for sexual assault allegations.
04:17I'm really against that.
04:19But if you didn't do well in the draft process, pre-draft process, a man has to have a coat.
04:24Just be a little rude.
04:25I don't know.
04:26Maybe, maybe the S2 logo was a little bit too much.
04:28If your dad acts like people are being mean to him, I'm sorry.
04:33That's just worse than the other thing.
04:34We got to draw the line somewhere.
04:35All right.
04:36This isn't, this isn't nom.
04:37This is football.
04:38We're bad at comparing things.
04:40That's what it is.
04:41Social media has ruined our ability to compare two bad things or two unpleasant things with each
04:47other and come out with the right result.
04:49We really need the algorithm to help us on this one.
04:51Well, it wouldn't.
04:52Okay.
04:52And not to go too deep on this, but isn't the national media side of this, isn't that
04:55the idea that for them, they were hurt personally by, uh, by Shador.
04:59That's right.
05:00Right.
05:00That was a personal thing because Shador didn't play their game because he didn't play their
05:04game.
05:04He didn't play by their rules.
05:05They took that personally.
05:06Whereas the allegations that didn't impact them personally, that impacted other people in
05:11a great, great deal and a great manner, but to them, it didn't, didn't impact them
05:14at all.
05:15So what does it matter?
05:16Right?
05:16It's almost like their outrage wasn't necessarily rooted in fact in the first place.
05:21Maybe a little selective outrage.
05:23We get to actually, because it was actually our town that took the heat for that.
05:27It's actually our fans that took the heat from that and the organization that we love
05:30that took the heat from that.
05:31It's a totally different thing though.
05:32Again, his dad, he says things in the media.
05:35Scott Petrack today talked about, uh, with, uh, with the midday guys talked about the timeline
05:40for Todd Munkin to pick QB one.
05:43And he's made it clear that he would love to have that guy.
05:46I understand him, Todd Munkin wanting to get to that point, but you're right.
05:50And he admits it that there's not a lot of on-field stuff that they're going to see.
05:53So the evaluation is going to include meetings and it's going to include everything, the
05:57grasp of the playbook.
05:58But I think he's going to have a day one QB one when training camp starts in July.
06:04But I also think in the back of his mind, and I'm assuming that's going to be Shooter
06:08Sanders, just because I think that makes the most sense.
06:10But then in the back of Todd Munkin's mind is, all right, if Sean Watson outplays him
06:14or Sanders struggles, I can still make that switch.
06:17Right.
06:18So I do think he will leave flexibility.
06:20He, I don't think he's going to announce anybody is the week one starter day one of
06:24training camp.
06:24But I think whoever it is, is, and I would guess it's Shooter is getting maybe all the
06:29first team reps, but at least the majority of the first team reps.
06:32Um, I give Scott a pass for saying, should do you?
06:35I don't know that we do.
06:36I don't know.
06:36I laughed.
06:37I shouldn't have laughed.
06:38We're big in the Scott Petrack business.
06:40We, he's always been very, very kind to me.
06:42So we, I'm going to give him the pass.
06:43I'm giving the Peter Lynn pass.
06:45Yes.
06:46A hundred percent.
06:46Uh, all right.
06:47So if I think a Shadour versus Deshaun, if I have my reservations about this being the
06:54QB one, QB two battle, right?
06:57Imagine how many more reservations I have when you try and put it, when, when Munkin saying
07:02to himself, I'd like to have the starter named by week one of camp.
07:05Also, how is he going to get this figured out by week one of camp?
07:07All those many camp reps.
07:08That's what I'm trying to figure out.
07:09The ones that he is, uh, basically he said he's going to treat like a very delicately,
07:14you know, he's going to try to really make sure that he has this whole thing balanced
07:17out.
07:17Is it, is it like Shadour shows up and doesn't look drunk on the field and he wins the job?
07:22Is that, is that the bar for this?
07:23There's a part of me that does things that Shadour.
07:25He just looks like stone cold sober and can complete a pass.
07:27He's got the, he has the job.
07:28I think there's a chance that they went to Shadour and said, Hey, uh, here's the exact
07:33roadmap for you to be the week one starter.
07:36And you have to follow this to a T you step one foot out of line.
07:40We're not going to give it to you, but you know, you do this and we'll give you what
07:44you want.
07:44I could, I could totally see that.
07:45If I were them, this is how I would be approaching it.
07:48By the way, I would be telling Shadour like, Hey, you're the guy, you're the guy.
07:50Uh, just as long as you look competent, as long as you look like you have a clue and then
07:54obviously don't get in any trouble.
07:55But that's why it does feel like a bit of a fixed, a rigged fight, right?
08:00Like if you're already telling yourself, we gotta, we gotta, that first practice, we
08:05gotta have a starter named so we can just move forward with that person.
08:08And by the way, I don't think in most, in most quarterback rooms that that's an asinine
08:14thing.
08:15I think in this room, it is.
08:17I think in this room of a fifth round pick who I really like, uh, compared to kind of
08:23everyone else versus a guy who is a, has been, and probably never will be again, who's been
08:29injury prone for his entire time here.
08:31Like, it just, it just doesn't feel like you even need to do the pomp and circumstance
08:36of, you know, Hey, look at this real legit quarterback room.
08:40We got going here.
08:41I don't think Deshaun could even show enough in that little time to be named quarterback
08:44one by the time you get to training camp.
08:46I hope you're right.
08:47I mean, I'm trying to figure out the roadmap.
08:49How would that even work?
08:50Uh, cause it's not as if they spend a bunch of time in front of Munkin before we even
08:54get to training camp.
08:54You'll have a select dates and obviously everyone, the voluntary portion tomorrow.
08:58Should we be expecting Deshaun at the voluntary portion tomorrow?
09:01I mean, he's been hanging out with Jerry Judy.
09:03He's been doing, he's been going through the motions here.
09:06I would assume so.
09:06I mean, if he doesn't show up, wouldn't that be some sort of sign that he's not in it to
09:11be the QB one?
09:12Like, isn't, isn't tomorrow kind of like a big day?
09:14All things considered.
09:15I know Shador is going to be there.
09:17Shador lives here.
09:17Shador is in the facility anyway.
09:19Shador is, he's a lot to be here.
09:21Who isn't going to be here tomorrow?
09:22Should we just proclaim it?
09:23If Deshaun's not here tomorrow practicing, should we just proclaim it over before it begins?
09:27Cause I would not want to do that prematurely.
09:30I think I'll call it if he's not here tomorrow.
09:33It's not voluntary for Deshaun.
09:35Okay.
09:35If Deshaun is sorry, like these other types of things, doesn't he, he has to be there
09:38tomorrow.
09:39I am on board with this take.
09:40I think he has to be.
09:41This is damn near a give it to me again take.
09:43That's how annoyed I am about the Deshaun thing.
09:45I'm not expecting Dylan Gabriel to be there tomorrow, by the way.
09:47But it's minicamps.
09:49The flight's from Hawaii.
09:50He can't find, it just doesn't come in this time of year.
09:52The USA took too long.
09:53It just doesn't come in this time of year.
09:54This is his Super Bowl.
09:55It should be.
09:56When it's minicamps, he's a miniature person.
09:59Yeah.
09:59Like, this should be, he should be like, finally, I can, I'm like an average tall guy in minicamps.
10:05I almost feel bad for Dylan if he's there tomorrow.
10:08Like, a little guy thinks he has a chance.
10:10I'm kind of about it.
10:11He's going to show up.
10:11Actually, no.
10:11He's going to show up and it was a little playbook under his right arm and be all ready
10:15to go.
10:15Now that you've said it, if Deshaun is not here at voluntary minicamps, but Dylan and
10:20Shador both are.
10:21Are we taking Deshaun completely out?
10:22I think I'm going to have to take Deshaun completely out.
10:25Will the seriousness of Deshaun be completely depleted if he doesn't show up?
10:28I get it.
10:28It's voluntary.
10:29I think you're selling a fight that I'm willing to buy.
10:31You're not.
10:31Sorry.
10:32You're not.
10:32This isn't Lamar Jackson showing up to the Ravens, which by the way, he showed up to the
10:35Ravens today and the first day of voluntary portion of their camp because they have a
10:39new head coach, new offensive coordinator, new everything, the same new everything the
10:43Browns have.
10:44But like Deshaun should be there.
10:46And he's getting credit for it too.
10:47He's getting a lot of credit for it from the national media.
10:49Oh, this is what a leader does.
10:51It's Deshaun.
10:51He hasn't shown up in years to this.
10:54And then people were wondering if he was going to make the appearance or in January, many
10:58people, Hey, have some sinker sinker.
