A Bible study of the book of Daniel, chapter 9.

00:00:05Hello, friends. I'm Pastor Joel Lasswell. I welcome you to our study at this time. We're
00:00:10closing up. We're getting to the end of the book of Daniel chapter 9. We're going to be
00:00:15looking at verse, well, several verses, but verse 27 primarily, breaking it down, taking
00:00:21a look, what does it mean? Just what we do, line upon line, precept upon precept. We look
00:00:27at each word and break it down so that we can understand it. We depend upon the Holy
00:00:33Spirit to guide and direct us in that. And so before we get into our study, we want to
00:00:39ask the Lord to bless us and with his presence and to guide us. And so we want to come
00:00:46before
00:00:46him and seek him in prayer. So I invite you to kneel if possible, but let's bow our heads
00:00:52and our hearts together for sure as we come before our creator God. Father in heaven, we
00:00:58do thank you for this opportunity to study out of the book of Daniel, in particular chapter
00:01:049. We pray for the Holy Spirit to be poured out upon us as we look at these verses in
00:01:11chapter
00:01:129 in relation to what we've learned from chapters 1 all the way up to now. Help us to put
00:01:18the
00:01:18puzzle pieces together that you've laid out in your Holy Word and that we may have a
00:01:23right understanding of what is going to be happening and is happening now in the time
00:01:30of the end, the time that we are living in. We thank you so much for Jesus who agreed and
00:01:37loved us so much that he couldn't bear heaven without us, that he came to this earth, became
00:01:41like one of us, became human. We can't comprehend that. We can't wrap our minds around it, Father.
00:01:49But he chose to do that to show us how to be a citizen of heaven, a citizen of the
00:01:55kingdom,
00:01:55and then he died for us. And this is part of what we're learning here in Daniel 9 about
00:02:01what happened to Jesus. And so we pray that because of our love of Jesus and our wanting
00:02:08to know that you will guide and direct us into the truth. And Lord, please forgive us
00:02:12our sins. We claim that blood that Jesus shed on our behalf there at Calvary. May we be
00:02:18born again each and every day and sing praises to thy name and may people see Jesus alive
00:02:27in us and want to have a part of that love that Jesus freely gives. I humbly ask these
00:02:32favors in his blessed name for he's so worthy. Amen and amen. Well, friends, we are still in
00:02:41this series, the time of the end series, which we started so long ago. But we're in chapter
00:02:459 of Daniel. And this particular set of studies of Daniel 9, I have entitled The Annihilator.
00:02:55I hope you're seeing who The Annihilator is. And this is episode 10. And so we're in the
00:03:02book of Daniel. We're studying the last verse in chapter 9. But I want to read verses 24 through
00:03:0827 again to get the whole picture of what we are currently looking at. So let's go there.
00:03:14Daniel 9 verse 24 says, 70 weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish
00:03:21the transgression. Remember, there's six things here. Finish the transgression to make an end
00:03:26of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and
00:03:33to seal up the vision and the prophecy. That's interesting. We'll touch on a little bit later
00:03:39here. To seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. Know therefore and
00:03:44understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem
00:03:48unto the Messiah, the Prince, shall be seven weeks and three score and two weeks. And the
00:03:55streets shall be built again and the wall even in troublous time. We've studied all that
00:04:00out, haven't we? Verse 26, and after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off
00:04:08but not for himself. And the people of the Prince that shall come shall destroy the city
00:04:12and the sanctuary and the end thereof shall be with the flood. And unto the end of the war
00:04:18desolations are determined. Verse 27, and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one
00:04:25week. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease.
00:04:31And then the next part we're going to break down because it can be difficult to break it
00:04:36up and understand it. And for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate even
00:04:42until the consummation. And that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. And I've had probably
00:04:50more people ask me about that particular part of Daniel than many of the other parts. But we'll get
00:04:55into it and we will break it down. And so we see that the 70-week period would climax in
00:05:03the 70th week
00:05:04with its momentous events which would be crowned with the cutting off or the crucifixion of the Messiah.
00:05:12And this was to happen again after and not in the 69 weeks. Remember, cut off means to be killed
00:05:22or to be put to death.
00:05:24And let me say that it's never used to describe an ordinary death. Throughout the Bible when you see this
00:05:32it doesn't mean it's like somebody just passed away peacefully in their bed. It must be a death directly
00:05:38inflicted by God or a violent death inflicted by man. And so of the death of Christ we know what
00:05:46Isaiah
00:05:46tells us, right? Isaiah 53 in verse 8. It says he was cut off out of the land of the
00:05:52living for the
00:05:53transgression of my people was he stricken. So Isaiah says he was cut off, right? And it's interesting the
00:06:02previous verse says that Jesus would be brought as a lamb to the slaughter.
00:06:10Peter and the other apostles charged the Jews with the murder of Christ in Acts 2.
00:06:16In particular, verse 23. If you go to Revelation 5, it tells us that the angels and the redeemed will
00:06:22forever sing of the lamb that was what? Peacefully passed away. No, the lamb that was slain.
00:06:30The lamb that was slain. I want to share this with you. It's from Rosati's book, The Trial of Jesus,
00:06:39page 294. He says, quote, Jesus of Nazareth was not condemned, but he was slain. His martyrdom
00:06:49was no miscarriage of justice. It was murder, end quote. Well, that the Messiah would be innocent
00:06:59of all guilt and therefore condemned unjustly is indicated by the statement that we are in there,
00:07:03but not for himself, which is rendered actually in the margin and shall have nothing. This actually
00:07:13is a rather difficult statement to translate and thus difficult to understand unless you understand
00:07:21the judgment process. Do you understand the judgment process? Theodosian's paraphrase of this sentence
00:07:32in English is, and there is nothing against him, meaning judicially. They have nothing legally against
00:07:40him. But he would be cut off and executed as a criminal without any crime being proved against
00:07:49him by the court. Remember, three times, Pilate, the Roman judge declared him to be innocent
00:07:54of the charges against him. And remember what Pilate said about him? Pilate said, I find no fault
00:08:02in him. I find no fault in him. Now, the word confirmed here is the Greek word bobeo, and much
00:08:16like
00:08:16the Hebrew word it means to make firm, establish or confirm, to make sure. The gospel had not simply
00:08:26been proclaimed to them, it had been proclaimed with a convicting power and was ratified by the death
00:08:33of Christ. It was ratified by the death of Christ, that word ratify. And I say pay attention to the
00:08:44words
00:08:45confirm or ratify because they are legal expressions. Remember now, Gabriel, what's he doing to Daniel here?
00:08:55He's speaking to Daniel, and what is he doing? He's explaining the vision of Daniel 8 to Daniel, isn't he?
00:09:03And so we're dealing with the atonement and the cleansing of the sanctuary that's spoken of in Daniel
00:09:10chapter 8, verses 13 and 14, right? All of us are to be judged according to the law of God.
00:09:18We're to be judged. Where do you find a judge? You find a judge in a courtroom, don't you?
00:09:23We're talking about legal things here, a law of God, and we have to be judged according to that law.
00:09:32Jesus died for us, friends, because of the immutability of the law of God. It's eternal.
00:09:41Cleanseing the sanctuary and the judgment is the legal way to deal with the sin issue, you see,
00:09:47and to save us. Because when you have Jesus, we're going to be found not guilty in this court.
00:09:56Now, when Israel broke the covenant,
00:10:01God sent them prophets.
00:10:03Now, why did he send them prophets?
00:10:06What was he doing in sending prophets?
00:10:10He was bringing legal proceedings against them.
00:10:13Have you ever looked at it that way?
00:10:15God was sending prophets,
00:10:17and they were bringing legal proceedings against them.
00:10:22You see, it is important
00:10:24to keep in mind that the prophets
00:10:26were God's lawyers
00:10:28bringing a lawsuit against Israel.
00:10:32The proceeding has come to be known, actually,
00:10:34as a covenant lawsuit.
00:10:35The Hebrew word there is reb.
00:10:38And though there are several examples
00:10:40of this in the Old Testament,
00:10:42I'm going to deal with this in a later study,
00:10:44probably the next study.
00:10:45We'll take a look at Micah 6 as an example.
00:10:48But I'll give you a heads up,
00:10:49go to Micah 6 and take a look at that
00:10:50when you have time.
00:10:53It's interesting that the word reb
00:10:54is there translated in Micah 6
00:10:56as contend and controversy.
00:11:01So let's think about this.
00:11:05Why legality?
00:11:07You see, friends,
00:11:08God has to legally show
00:11:09all creation
00:11:12through the heavenly court system
00:11:15that Lucifer's claims against him
00:11:18are unfounded.
00:11:20And that God and his law,
00:11:22remember, his law is a transcript
00:11:24of his character,
00:11:25but that his law and God
00:11:28are righteous and just.
00:11:31And when we go to heaven with Jesus,
00:11:34we will be looking, remember?
00:11:36What will we be doing for a thousand years
00:11:38while we're in heaven?
00:11:40We're going to be looking at the trial books
00:11:42is what we're going to be looking at.
00:11:43We're going to be looking at those
00:11:44books of record for a thousand years.
00:11:47And we're going to see for ourselves
00:11:50the vindication of God
00:11:52in this court case against him.
00:11:56Let me share this with you.
00:11:58It's out of The Desire of Ages,
00:12:01page 233.
00:12:04Quote,
00:12:05Then said the angel,
00:12:06He shall confirm the covenant with many
00:12:08for one week.
00:12:09That's seven years, right?
00:12:11One week.
00:12:11In this prophecy,
00:12:14in apocalyptic prophecy,
00:12:17a day is a year,
00:12:19and we have a week.
00:12:19That's seven days, seven years.
00:12:21She says,
00:12:22a covenant for many for one week,
00:12:23seven years.
00:12:24And then she even says it.
00:12:26For seven years after the Savior
00:12:28entered on his ministry,
00:12:30the gospel was to be preached
00:12:32especially to the Jews
00:12:35for three and a half years
00:12:37by Christ himself,
00:12:38she says,
00:12:39and afterward by the apostles.
00:12:41End quote.
00:12:43Here's one more I'll share with you.
00:12:44It's from the Great Controversy.
00:12:47The Great Controversy,
00:12:49page 28.
00:12:52Quote,
00:12:53Through the preaching of the apostles
00:12:54and their associates,
00:12:56God would cause light to shine upon them.
00:12:58They would be,
00:12:59notice this,
00:13:00permitted to see how prophecy
00:13:02had been fulfilled,
00:13:05not only in the birth
00:13:06and life of Christ,
00:13:08but in his death
00:13:10and resurrection.
00:13:12That's so important
00:13:14for us to understand.
00:13:15So,
00:13:16through the preaching of who?
00:13:18Jesus before he died?
00:13:20No.
00:13:21The apostles
00:13:21and their associates
00:13:22after he died.
00:13:24She says,
00:13:25they would be permitted
00:13:26to see how prophecy
00:13:27had been fulfilled,
00:13:30not only in the birth
00:13:31and life of Christ,
00:13:32while he was here,
00:13:34but in his death
00:13:36and resurrection.
00:13:37That's important.
00:13:38Take note of that.
00:13:39She goes on,
00:13:41the children were not condemned
00:13:42for their sins of the parents,
00:13:45but when with a knowledge
00:13:47of all the light
00:13:48given to their parents,
00:13:49the children rejected
00:13:50the additional light
00:13:52granted to themselves,
00:13:54they became partakers
00:13:55of the parents' sins
00:13:57and filled up the measure
00:13:59of their iniquity.
00:14:01That's Great Controversy,
00:14:02page 28.
00:14:04Go read it
00:14:05if you have the book.
00:14:07But here we can see
00:14:09that those Jewish leaders
00:14:11that rejected the Messiah
00:14:13are described as parents
00:14:15and the remaining leaders,
00:14:17those excluded
00:14:18from the decision
00:14:19to condemn Jesus,
00:14:21like Nicodemus
00:14:22and Joseph of Arimathea,
00:14:24they weren't invited
00:14:25to the trial.
00:14:27But the remaining leaders
00:14:29and the Jewish people
00:14:31are described as children.
00:14:34You see,
00:14:35God does not condemn
00:14:36without giving an opportunity
00:14:37to see the light.
00:14:39And here God gave
00:14:40additional light
00:14:41as they are shown
00:14:43the prophecies
00:14:44of the Messiah
00:14:45after the crucifixion
00:14:47and resurrection
00:14:48and the gospel.
00:14:51And the children,
00:14:52sadly,
00:14:52also rejected it
00:14:55as their parents did.
00:14:57Now,
00:14:59we broke down
00:15:01the first sentence
00:15:02of verse 27
00:15:04in the last study.
00:15:05So we're now looking
00:15:06at this sentence.
00:15:08Daniel 9,
00:15:09verse 27.
00:15:10Notice this part
00:15:12of that verse.
00:15:13And in the midst
00:15:14of the week,
00:15:15he shall cause
00:15:17the sacrifice
00:15:18and the oblation
00:15:19to cease.
00:15:22Now,
00:15:23this sentence
00:15:24actually answers
00:15:25three questions.
00:15:26It answers
00:15:27three questions.
00:15:28First,
00:15:28what was to cease?
00:15:30The sacrifice
00:15:31and the oblation.
00:15:33The next question
00:15:35was,
00:15:35who was to cause
00:15:36the sacrifice
00:15:37and the oblation
00:15:38to cease?
00:15:38That would be
00:15:39the prince.
00:15:41And then the third question,
00:15:43when were they to cease?
00:15:45In the middle
00:15:45of the last week
00:15:46of the 70-week prophecy.
00:15:50Now,
00:15:50what's meant
00:15:51by the expression
00:15:51the sacrifice
00:15:52and the oblation?
00:15:54Where the word
00:15:55sacrifice
00:15:56is the Hebrew
00:15:57sabach.
00:15:58It's a common one
00:15:59in the Old Testament.
00:16:00It's used to describe
00:16:01the animal sacrifices
00:16:02that were performed
00:16:03in the sanctuary.
00:16:05You can go to
00:16:05Leviticus 7
00:16:06and check that out
00:16:08for one place,
00:16:10anyway.
00:16:11Now,
00:16:12the word oblation
00:16:14is ninkah.
00:16:15It's used to describe
00:16:17the drink
00:16:17and meal offerings
00:16:18which accompanied
00:16:19those sacrifices.
00:16:22And I want you also
00:16:23to notice
00:16:24that it was
00:16:25the prince
00:16:26who is the subject
00:16:28of the sentence,
00:16:29friends.
00:16:30It was the prince
00:16:31who caused
00:16:31the sacrifice
00:16:32and the oblation
00:16:34to cease.
00:16:35Many evangelists
00:16:36today
00:16:37are mixed up
00:16:38as to who
00:16:38that prince is,
00:16:39but we aren't,
00:16:40are we?
00:16:41The literary structure
00:16:43of Daniel 9
00:16:45verses 25
00:16:46to 27
00:16:48clearly indicates
00:16:49that the cutting
00:16:49off of the Messiah
00:16:50would lead
00:16:52to the termination
00:16:52of the sacrifice
00:16:54and the oblation.
00:16:57What are synonyms
00:16:59for the cutting
00:17:01off of it?
00:17:02Synonyms
00:17:03for cease.
00:17:06They're bring
00:17:07to an end,
00:17:08stop,
00:17:09terminate,
00:17:11discontinue.
00:17:13And so Daniel 9
00:17:14not only explains
00:17:14that the prince
00:17:15would cause
00:17:16the sacrifice
00:17:16and the oblation
00:17:17to discontinue,
00:17:19but it also tells
00:17:19us how this
00:17:20would happen.
00:17:21The Messiah
00:17:22would be cut off
00:17:23from the land
00:17:24of the living.
00:17:27The Gospels
00:17:29strikingly reveal
00:17:30how Daniel 9
00:17:3125 to 27
00:17:33was fulfilled
00:17:34in Jesus Christ.
00:17:38Now in John 19
00:17:39and verse 30
00:17:41we're told
00:17:41that the last words
00:17:42of Jesus
00:17:43on the cross
00:17:44were,
00:17:44it is finished.
00:17:46And as soon
00:17:47as these words
00:17:48were pronounced,
00:17:49according to
00:17:50Matthew 27
00:17:51verse 51,
00:17:52it explains that
00:17:53the veil
00:17:54of the temple
00:17:55was rent
00:17:56in twain
00:17:57from the top
00:17:57to the bottom.
00:17:59Do you ever
00:18:00notice that?
00:18:00From the top
00:18:01to the bottom.
00:18:02And the earth
00:18:03did quake
00:18:04and the rocks
00:18:05were rent.
00:18:07Well friends,
00:18:08no man could have
00:18:09ripped that veil
00:18:10in two.
00:18:11It was at least
00:18:12seven inches thick.
00:18:15And you notice
00:18:15the statement
00:18:16it was done
00:18:16from the top
00:18:17to the bottom.
00:18:18So not only
00:18:19was the veil
00:18:19torn from top
00:18:20to bottom
00:18:21by an unseen
00:18:23hand,
00:18:25supernaturally,
00:18:26a human
00:18:27didn't do it.
00:18:29Not only
00:18:29did that happen
00:18:30but something
00:18:30else happened
00:18:31which had
00:18:32profound
00:18:32significance.
00:18:34And Ellen White
00:18:35vividly describes
00:18:36what happened
00:18:36in the very moment
00:18:37the priest
00:18:38was about
00:18:38to offer
00:18:39the sacrifice
00:18:39and the oblation.
00:18:41It's in
00:18:42The Desire of Ages
00:18:43pages 756
00:18:44and 757.
00:18:48Notice what
00:18:49she says here
00:18:49about this.
00:18:50Quote,
00:18:51When the loud cry
00:18:52It is finished
00:18:53came from the lips
00:18:54of Christ.
00:18:55The priests
00:18:56were officiating
00:18:57in the temple.
00:18:58It was the hour
00:18:59of the evening
00:19:00sacrifice.
00:19:02The Lamb
00:19:03representing Christ
00:19:04had been brought
00:19:05to be slain.
00:19:07Clothed in his
00:19:08significant
00:19:08and beautiful
00:19:09dress,
00:19:10the priest
00:19:10stood with
00:19:11lifted knife
00:19:12as did
00:19:13Abraham
00:19:13when he was
00:19:14about to
00:19:14slay his son.
00:19:16With intense
00:19:17interest the people
00:19:18were looking on
00:19:18but the earth
00:19:19trembles and
00:19:20quakes
00:19:21for the Lord
00:19:21himself draws near.
00:19:23With a rending
00:19:24noise the inner veil
00:19:25of the temple
00:19:25is torn from top
00:19:26to bottom
00:19:27by an unseen
00:19:28hand
00:19:28throwing open
00:19:30to the gaze
00:19:31of the multitude
00:19:32a place once
00:19:33filled with the
00:19:34presence of God.
00:19:35In this place
00:19:36the Shekinah
00:19:37had dwelt.
00:19:39All is terror
00:19:40and confusion.
00:19:42The priest
00:19:43is about to
00:19:43slay the victim
00:19:44but the knife
00:19:45drops from his
00:19:46nerveless hand.
00:19:47Notice what
00:19:48happens there.
00:19:48And the Lamb
00:19:50escapes.
00:19:53You see,
00:19:54she says,
00:19:55type has met
00:19:55anti-type
00:19:56in the death
00:19:57of God's Son.
00:19:58The great
00:19:59sacrifice
00:20:00has been made.
00:20:02The way
00:20:03into the
00:20:03holiest
00:20:04is laid
00:20:04open.
00:20:07a new
00:20:08and living
00:20:08way
00:20:09is prepared
00:20:09for all.
00:20:11No longer
00:20:12need sinful
00:20:13sorrowing
00:20:14humanity
00:20:15await the
00:20:16coming of
00:20:16the high
00:20:17priest.
00:20:18Henceforth
00:20:18the Savior
00:20:19was to
00:20:19officiate
00:20:20as priest
00:20:20and advocate
00:20:21in the
00:20:22heaven
00:20:22of heavens.
00:20:24End quote.
00:20:27Want you
00:20:27to notice
00:20:28that there
00:20:28was no
00:20:29sacrifice
00:20:29or oblation
00:20:30when Jesus
00:20:31died.
00:20:33Not in
00:20:34the temple
00:20:34there.
00:20:35Christ
00:20:36literally
00:20:36made
00:20:37these
00:20:37ceremonies
00:20:37cease
00:20:38when he
00:20:38was
00:20:39crucified.
00:20:40And if
00:20:41the Jews
00:20:41had understood
00:20:42what this
00:20:42meant,
00:20:43they would
00:20:44have shut
00:20:44down the
00:20:44sacrifices
00:20:45and the
00:20:45oblations
00:20:46on that
00:20:46very day
00:20:47once and
00:20:48for all.
00:20:51So in
00:20:52three ways,
00:20:53God indicated
00:20:53that the
00:20:54sacrifice
00:20:54and the
00:20:55oblation
00:20:55had come
00:20:56to an
00:20:56end.
00:20:57First,
00:20:58by Jesus
00:20:59crying out,
00:21:00it is
00:21:00finished.
00:21:01He had
00:21:02fulfilled
00:21:03the
00:21:03type,
00:21:04right?
00:21:05Second,
00:21:06by the
00:21:07rending of
00:21:07the veil
00:21:08from top
00:21:08to bottom.
00:21:10And third,
00:21:11by the
00:21:11lamb's
00:21:11escape
00:21:12from the
00:21:13hands
00:21:13of the
00:21:14priest.
00:21:16That
00:21:17lamb
00:21:17was not
00:21:18sacrificed.
00:21:19Jesus
00:21:20had been.
00:21:22Now,
00:21:25it is
00:21:26historically
00:21:27true
00:21:27that the
00:21:28sacrifices
00:21:29and the
00:21:29oblations
00:21:30were resumed
00:21:30shortly
00:21:31thereafter
00:21:31and continued
00:21:32until the
00:21:33destruction
00:21:34of Jerusalem
00:21:34in 70
00:21:35A.D.
00:21:36But these
00:21:37ceremonies
00:21:37no longer
00:21:38had any
00:21:38significance.
00:21:40In fact,
00:21:41it was
00:21:42a further
00:21:43indication
00:21:44of the
00:21:44rejection
00:21:45of the
00:21:46Messiah
00:21:48because the
00:21:49shadow had
00:21:49given way
00:21:50to the
00:21:50substance.
00:21:51Right?
00:21:54And in
00:21:55fact,
00:21:55since 70
00:21:56A.D.,
00:21:56there haven't
00:21:57been any,
00:21:57but we
00:21:58look into
00:22:00the Middle
00:22:01East and
00:22:01in Jerusalem
00:22:03and they're
00:22:04pushing to
00:22:05build that
00:22:07temple again.
00:22:09And I
00:22:09wouldn't
00:22:10doubt that
00:22:11Trump will
00:22:12have his
00:22:12nose in
00:22:13that in
00:22:13some way
00:22:14and build
00:22:15the best
00:22:15temple that
00:22:16has the
00:22:16best there
00:22:17ever has
00:22:17been built
00:22:18because they
00:22:19want to
00:22:19bring the
00:22:20sacrifices
00:22:21back,
00:22:22friends.
00:22:22They want
00:22:23to bring
00:22:23them back.
00:22:24And Satan
00:22:25is pushing
00:22:26this in
00:22:27order to
00:22:28deceive.
00:22:32Sad but
00:22:33true.
00:22:34Bunch in
00:22:34his book,
00:22:36the book
00:22:36of Daniel,
00:22:37page 141,
00:22:40just a note
00:22:41on what he
00:22:41says here
00:22:42about this.
00:22:42He said,
00:22:43quote,
00:22:44when Jesus
00:22:45offered on
00:22:46the cross
00:22:46one sacrifice
00:22:47for sins
00:22:47forever,
00:22:49he forever
00:22:49caused to
00:22:50cease the
00:22:50typical offerings
00:22:51and sacrifices
00:22:52in which he
00:22:53said he
00:22:54had no
00:22:54delight.
00:22:57The very
00:22:58purpose of
00:22:58his advent
00:22:59was to
00:22:59take away
00:23:00the first
00:23:00or typical
00:23:01that he
00:23:02might establish
00:23:03the second,
00:23:04the heavenly
00:23:04sanctuary
00:23:05and its
00:23:06services.
00:23:08End
00:23:09quote.
00:23:12Once you
00:23:13notice that
00:23:13the prince
00:23:15caused the
00:23:16sacrifice and
00:23:16the oblation
00:23:17to cease
00:23:17in the

00:32:51standards into

00:32:55what they
00:32:56would do
00:32:56with every
00:32:57military
00:32:57campaign,

00:33:00every campaign.

00:33:02actually had
00:33:03an eagle,
00:33:04it was
00:33:04surrounded by
00:33:04a golden
00:33:05wreath,
00:33:05and under
00:33:06the eagle
00:33:07and the
00:33:07wreath was
00:33:08a solar
00:33:08disk,
00:33:09which
00:33:09represented
00:33:10the sun
00:33:10god
00:33:11Mithra.
00:33:12And if
00:33:12you recall,
00:33:13we looked
00:33:13at this
00:33:13before when
00:33:14we studied
00:33:14about the
00:33:15kingdom of
00:33:15Pergamum,
00:33:16if you
00:33:17recall,
00:33:18and traced
00:33:18the ancestry
00:33:19of the
00:33:19little horn

00:33:21It was
00:33:22the religion

00:39:24This is true

00:39:28destruction of
00:39:29Jerusalem is
00:39:30spoken of as
00:39:31coming after
00:39:32the death
00:39:33of the
00:39:33Messiah.
00:39:35It's also
00:39:36true in

00:39:38to 44
00:39:38as well as
00:39:39other passages
00:39:40actually,
00:39:40where the
00:39:41destruction of
00:39:42Jerusalem is
00:39:42linked with
00:39:42the rejection
00:39:43of Jesus.
00:39:47This
00:39:47destruction and
00:39:48desolation
00:39:49through the
00:39:50coming of the
00:39:50prince and
00:39:51his army
00:39:51would not be
00:39:51among the
00:39:52events to
00:39:53take place
00:39:53within the
00:39:5470 weeks
00:39:54though,
00:39:55or the
00:39:5670th week,
00:39:58but as a
00:39:59consequence of
00:40:00the events of
00:40:00that last
00:40:01tragic and
00:40:03momentous
00:40:05prophetic and
00:40:06historic week
00:40:06of years.

00:40:17what's being said
