00:00Two first place teams in Major League Baseball getting it on and popping on a Thursday afternoon.
00:05The start time here from Toronto, 3.07 p.m. 9.09.910 on the rotation.
00:10It's Javier going up against Gaussman here.
00:12And once again, two first place teams go toe-to-toe.
00:15The total in this game opened up at 8.5, still sits, 8.5.
00:18The favorite heavily towards the Toronto Blue Jays at the opening number of minus 180.
00:23That's shrinking down now.
00:25Minus 160s, minus 163s, minus 155s across the betting landscape, depending on where you're shopping here.
00:31Lower scoring game yesterday.
00:32Both teams in desperate needs of victory to hold off contenders trying to chase them down.
00:37What do you think happens today, Astros and the Blue Jays show?
00:40Well, this has been a matchup and a series that over the years has been dominated, especially this year, by the Astros, Donnie.
00:50They did it again last night, the end of your Diaz.
00:52It's a ninth-inning solo home run to give the Astros a 3-2 win.
00:57So this is now a pretty important rubber match coming up here for Toronto because they've won four or five, Houston, against the Blue Jays this year.
01:06They've won eight of their past ten against this team.
01:11So they're going to need Gaussman to come up big here, Toronto, today.
01:14Garcia going for—Javier, rather, going for Houston.
01:19Both of these games felt very playoff atmosphere-esque.
01:24Have they not?
01:25Lower scoring?
01:26Yeah.
01:26I kind of think we're going to get the same thing here today.
01:29I think the bullpens are going to decide this, but I would lean Toronto in the first five early in this one.
01:36All right.
01:36Like where you're going at this point.
01:38How about in the Bronx, Detroit, and the New York Yankees?
01:40Detroit's like, hey, we'll stay an extra couple days in the Bronx.
01:42It's a lot of fun.
01:43Small, tiny ballpark here.
01:44We're scoring a lot of runs, and the Yankees are not doing that.
01:46I do think that changes a little bit today.
01:48Detroit's going to take on the Yankees, 9-11, 9-12 with a rotation.
01:517-05 Eastern start.
01:53Gibson long on the mound versus Cam Schlittler.
01:56The side of this game, minus 165s overnight, minus 158s now, minus 170s.
02:02It's all over the landscape, depending on where you want.
02:04Again, shop around and get the best possible pricing, depending on which way you want to go with that 8.5 total.
02:09I think the Yankees hit tonight.
02:10I'm not comfortable saying I just want to absolutely take the Yankees, let's call it minus 164.
02:16I do think they win.
02:17I think they get the Gibson long, but I'd be looking more at a team total where the Yankees
02:20bats finally wake up tonight.
02:22Yeah, well, I had mentioned it.
02:24I've been saying it all show.
02:25I'll say it again.
02:26I will not bet the New York Yankees outside of the first five innings, because when you
02:31look at the starting pitching in this series alone, the starters have all dominated.
02:37And then, of course, the bullpen got involved late in the game, and that is where Detroit
02:41has dominated.
02:43They're 4-1 against the Yankees this year.
02:45And, Donnie, they're going for a sweep in this one for the first time in the Bronx since
02:502008.
02:522008 is the last time Detroit swept the Yankees in the Bronx.
02:56I don't think they're going to get it done here.
02:59Although, in that 4-1, the five games they played this year, they have outscored the Yankees
03:0437-9.
03:0737-9.
03:07And, oh, by the way, when is the last time Aaron Judge got a hit?
03:10I saw his batting average at 319.
03:13Not good.
03:14First five under for me in this one.
03:17I think the Yankees may score a couple of runs, but ultimately, can they hold on will
03:22be the question.
03:23I think we get fewer runs early in this one.
03:26It's up with a lot of people coming in there sweeping up on the New York Yankees.
03:29Yeah, real sad that one early in the season was like the Boston Red Sox.
03:31Haven't done it in 100 years.
03:32Yep, they just did it this year.
03:34So, interesting times for the New York Yankees.
03:35And you're right, whatever happened to flirting with 400 for Aaron Judge as a batting average?
03:40And by the way, we're going to have to have more talks here on who's going to win that
03:43AL MVP because that was always, you know, hey, well, Aaron Judge is going to be close.
03:46They're not close in the home run race now.
03:48Cal Raleigh's got more RBI.
03:50And if Aaron Judge slips back to like 310, which is still a really good batting average,
03:54he's losing all his leverage at this point.
03:55So, we'll have some conversations a little bit later on that.
03:58But the New York Mets end the Philadelphia Phillies.
03:59Game number four from the city of brotherly love.
04:02The Phillies not showing any brotherly love the past three games, hammering the New York Mets.
04:07Not a lot of Mets offense here, by the way, over those past couple nights.
04:10Peterson, the lefty versus Luzardo, the lefty, 7-15 start.
04:13Phillies are a favorite.
04:14Overnight, though, you'll see that placard, 142.
04:16It's dropping right now, Joe.
04:17Minus 136 at FanDuel, minus 136 at DraftKings, and a total of eight and a half.
04:22I mean, radioactive are the Mets right now.
04:24I can't see myself in any way, shape, or form going, oh, I'll just back them because they have to win.
04:28They look brutal.
04:29So, 21-6, they've been outscored in this three games so far.
04:35And my goodness, I mean, think about this, too, right?
04:39Because the Phillies were in Citi Field not too long ago, and they got swept by the Mets in the three-game series.
04:46And then have gone 10-3 since that sweep by the Mets.
04:50And, you know, they lost Turner.
04:51They lost Brom.
04:52But it doesn't seem to matter when guys like Kepler are coming up and driving in runs all over the place.
04:58I've said it and pointed it out.
04:59The Mets have an issue against left-handed starters.
05:02They got another one today in Lizardo that they're going to have to deal with.
05:05I'm not any more confident that they're going to get the Lizardo.
05:09They didn't get the Sanchez.
05:10They didn't get the Ranger Suarez.
05:11I just – I don't like the Mets right now.
05:15I'd only be looking to Philly's way.
05:17And Aaron Nola shut him out, though.
05:19Like, so not a great look here.
05:20Going up against another lefty.
05:21We'll see how that works out in Philadelphia.
05:22Seattle, the same thing, the crime last night for me, picking up a victory but costing me many hours of sleep.
05:27Sometimes, you know, you want that – like, hey, they start at 9-4.
05:30Like, hey, by 10-40, can I have a couple runs on the board so I can go to bed?
05:32No.
05:33That was up to 1-30.
05:34Today, they're going to play the Angels, though.
05:35So, not the same team they played last night, which, my goodness, I'm still a little bit weary at this point.
05:41So, the Angels are going to have Soriano.
05:42The Seattle Mariners aren't going to go with Miller.
05:44166-170 is the favorite here for the Mariners in a total between 7.5 and 8 runs across the board.
05:51Seattle was shorthanded yesterday in the bullpen, and they went 13 innings.
05:54So, they should get some guys back that weren't available last night.
05:57But I want to see what that maybe hangover is from playing that long game.
06:00And Soriano was pushed back an extra day to get a little bit extra rest and relief.
06:04That total sits at 8.
06:05I don't know, Joe, if we go over 8 runs, even though I don't like Miller really too much for the Mariners.
06:10Yeah.
06:11No, I don't like him at all.
06:13But Soriano has been much better on the road, Donnie, than he has been at home this year.
06:19His home road splits are bonkers here.
06:21So, I would not be mad at anybody looking to take the run and a half with the Angels in this spot.
06:27Because, like you said, at 13 innings, that kind of wore them down a little bit here.
06:32And Soriano's record on the road leads me to think the Angels could be a live dog here tonight.
06:37Yeah, some bad base running last night.
06:39By the way, some really good fielding from the Mariners and finally got a clutch hit late in that game.
06:43A two-run walk-off there in the bottom of the 13 inning.
06:46Otherwise, you continue to play more innings, more innings, and more innings in the way you go.
06:51How he wants to play less innings?
06:52It's probably the Colorado Rockies.
06:54Tired of getting beat up every night.
06:55Shut out yesterday against the Dodgers.
06:57They don't have to move all that far.
06:58They go from L.A. down to San Diego to take on Randy Vasquez, who's not a great pitcher for the Padres, going up against Mr. Brown for Colorado.
07:05He is also a bad pitcher.
07:07That line sits at eight and a half.
07:09Look, Randy Vasquez, I don't care who they're playing, should never be favored at close to a minus 250 price, which he is.
07:14I'm not saying you're taking the underdog Rockies.
07:17You know what I am saying?
07:18I think we get some runs tonight in this game, Joe.
07:21Well, it better be the Padres' bats better wake up because they have been terrible.
07:26I mean, they lost two of three to the Reds, and they only got 15 hits in the entire series.
07:32They only scored a run again last night.
07:35So, not a good look here.
07:37Machado can't hit water if he fell out of a boat.
07:40Tatis is doing his best to keep them afloat here, but they need some help, and they don't hit the home run ball very well, so they're not a power team.
07:49To me, yes, these are two gas cans, but wow, is this hard to look at the Padres and say that, oh, yeah, they're going to be good for six or seven runs.
07:58They may win this one, but I'm fading their team total here tonight.
08:02Let's go down there to Lone Depot Park quickly, Joe.
08:04You're neck of the woods.
08:05How about this matchup?
08:06How many tickets were sold for the Nationals?
08:08Marlins today, 640-star.
08:10Gore and Weathers, exactly where you want to be.
08:13Roughly a pick-em, minus 125, depending where he's shopping, and a total of eight, Joe.
08:17Not very many people go down there to watch, but I got to tell you, make it through five innings, and the fun begins in this series, man.
08:24Bullpens, they can't get anybody out.
08:25Listen, I love that Weathers is back, but it's his first game off the IL for the Marlins, and I think he's a, I really like him from a pitching perspective here, but you just don't know what you're going to get, Donnie, early on, and that Miami bullpen is a hot mess.
08:42So, yeah, while Washington has their issues, they're the hotter team.
08:47I'd be willing to look towards Washington and get one here tonight.
08:50I looked yesterday and said, I think we get runs, and it was just what my best bet was, and I hit that.
08:54But I'm almost like, where's the team total going to come from?
08:55Should I go Washington?
08:56I said, I'm going to go Miami.
08:57They're the better team.
08:58They should be able to lump up the starting pitcher for Washington yesterday.
09:01Three to nothing lead for Washington.
09:02I'm like, I ain't such an idiot.
09:03I should have just went Washington.
09:05Ah, I forgot about that Washington bullpen.
09:06Bing, bong, boom.
09:07Over the total we go.
09:08Everybody goes home a winner.
09:09Today, we actually have a game draw at 105 Eastern, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore, followed by Tampa Bay and Chicago at 210, then the 307 start up north in Toronto.
09:18I'm going to keep with Major League Baseball and all I've been doing for the past couple weeks, Joe, keeping it simple tonight, taking a look and not putting a ton of thought into, ooh, I wonder if this happens by going, first instinct is the right instinct.
09:29And tonight, we're going to go out to Colorado and San Diego, live from San Diego.
09:32Yeah, it's a true pitchers ballpark.
09:33I get it.
09:34Are the offenses in gear for both of these teams?
09:36No.
09:36Did you see last night Colorado got shut out?
09:38Don, you can't take anything that has to do with Colorado unless you're fading them.
09:42Not tonight.
09:43Brown versus Vasquez.
09:44Two really bad pitchers on the mound.
09:46If there's a night for the San Diego Padres, say, okay, let's get back in order and chase down the Dodgers.
09:51We have to score runs, which means five or six, which is a possibility.
09:54And Vasquez, you look at him on the card today.
09:57Last 45 days, a 4.37 ERA, but a 4.90 Sierra number, which is the important numbers, the analytical numbers.
10:04Colorado's going to get some base knocks tonight and score some runs.
10:06Joe, I'm going over eight and a half at Petco tonight between the Rockies and the Padres.
10:12This is a no-brainer as long as the Padres, those bats, turn it around here.
10:17And if they do against the bullpen arms that they're going to be facing, then this has got no problem.
10:24We could get double digits early and quickly in that game, Donnie.
10:27We could get double digits early and quickly in that game, Donnie.
