00:12The grief of a mother after losing her only child to the bullet.
00:17She told the TV6 News she warned her son about liming on the block, but he did not listen.
00:24On Thursday night, shortly after 10, while Bavelle was at a birthday lime in Patience Hill, a gunman wearing a
00:32hat walked up to him and shot him several times in full view of the public.
00:37The gunman then robbed another man of his gold chain before escaping on foot.
00:43But it is very hard, because that is my only child. Right? I keep talking to my body block, because
00:51he always going out on the block.
00:53They are telling me there are no friends out there. But they make it true anyway and make them mine.
00:59Ms. Bavelle said she wants justice in the matter and hopes the police find those who killed her son.
01:08I see many things like this happen and nobody can get justice. Right? But I leave any police and them
01:15to do their job. And yes, if I could get justice, I will accept.
01:19She has this message for the young people of the nation.
01:23What I would tell them is to listen to your parents, stay off the block and focus on education.
01:30Area representative for Signal Hill Patience Hill, Nigel Tate, when asked if there should be a return of the hangman,
01:37had this to say.
01:38I don't believe in an eye for an eye or a tooth for things. I don't believe in that. But
01:43what I do believe in is fair justice. Right? Taking someone's life, it is not your responsibility. That is God's
01:53responsibility.
01:55No man has the right of privileges to take no other person's life. To return of the hangman, I don't
02:05believe in that.
