00:00Mike Garofalo was on Good Morning Football today and had a different kind of path on a different
00:06kind of take on Deshaun Watson as of today. Does Deshaun Watson have a chance to be the
00:11Browns starter in 2026? Yes he does and in my opinion he's got a great shot. In fact at this
00:18point if Deshaun Watson is the starter week one for the Cleveland Browns this guy right here is
00:23not going to be surprised. Now it'll probably be some kind of open competition that we'll have
00:27but you're paying him anyway he's on the roster he was previously an accomplished quarterback there's
00:32been a lot that's happened off the field I understand that but to me Deshaun Watson might
00:36even be in the pole position at this point to be the Browns starter for this upcoming season.
00:39All right this continues to follow a path of framing around the Deshaun stuff that is really
00:47annoying me all right and it's kind of like the Miles thing like the Miles thing is well you know
00:53they have no plans on trading him so far hey they have no plans of trading him right now okay
01:00there's
01:00a lot of wiggle room in there of the right now and the so fars so he said in my
01:05opinion so it's not
01:07like hey the Browns have told me this yeah he's not reported there's a chance he said won't be
01:11surprised might even it's like for the love of God just say you're just just like I don't well he
01:21think the point is to just decide that he's got a great that's what he did yes he said he's
01:27in the
01:27pole position which is the pole position where do you get the information from no but well to be fair
01:31about it though like this is this is the same thing that uh in many ways we're doing the same
01:35thing
01:35that any guest we have on they're doing as well the Browns are tight-lipped on all this we don't
01:39know what they're thinking nobody's known what the Browns have thought for a while in this stretch
01:43but like we legitimately don't know do they love Shador Sanders do they love Deshaun Watson and also
01:48I don't even know what they've seen of Deshaun Watson in recent weeks or months I know he's
01:53practicing in South Florida with some of the wide receivers but like I I think it's it's almost
01:57impossible to know what the Browns think at this current moment when it comes to this race fair but
02:03why wouldn't you just assume that Shador who was the starter the last we saw he was the starter
02:09the Browns have commented nothing other than nothing pretty much anything on the Browns at all on the
02:16quarterback spot so why would you assume the guy who hasn't played in almost two full seasons
02:21is in the pull position I think that's what I think is the same assumption that Albert's making
02:26within this whole convo too like they they go back to things we don't rely on me and you we're
02:31not
02:31relying about Deshaun Watson and what he did five years ago they are they're they they think that that
02:36outweighs anything that Shador Sanders did last year they think the numbers he put up six seasons ago
02:41matter more than what Shador did just last season I just think there's only so many conditionals or
02:48ways to couch it before and again everyone's doing it outside of Albert Albert's been definitive
02:54I think Deshaun's the most talented quarterback it like he hasn't changed his mind at all I respect
02:59that because that is a firm and dead on opinion I disagree with it but at least he's not couching
03:05it
03:06everyone else that I have heard talk it's just well it might be could be you could do it I
03:11could
03:11do anything on could be and I probably will but I could do anything on could be with a quarterback
03:15room hey they might trade for a quarterback hey they might draft the quarterback I know I think it's
03:20an understanding that they might wait till June and trade for a quarterback I think there's a couple
03:23things at play here uh the Browns have acted like wild cards this entire stretch and so they're
03:28they're always ready to pull a rabbit out of their hat in some way maybe that is taking Ty Simpson
03:32or
03:32something and upset in the apple cart I don't know but like I they've also been incredibly tight-lipped
03:36and so I I think if Mike Garofalo came out and said with certainty he's in the pole position
03:41I'd be like where are you getting that from that that would strike me as way different than him
03:45hedging it 27 different ways he was always going to hedge it is that he's a reporter I don't think
03:50the Browns know right now well he's yes he's a reporter but he's on he's on good morning football
03:54and I I did not see the lead-up to the segment are they asking him specifically about the
03:57Browns quarterback spot I have no idea I heard the same sound you did yeah so like I don't know
04:02I don't know the context of it all like was he asked to do did he come on being like
04:05I have
04:05my own breaking news about the Browns or did he come on because they're like hey how do you see
04:09it working out with Shador and then he went on this whole tangent about Deshaun I think I have
04:13enough to to act on here and I just just there's there's just certain parts of this that I just
04:20there is listen it's been a relatively quiet offseason for the Browns it's not a criticism it's an
04:25observation and then there is watching people who do not talk about this this team every single day
04:31react to it and it is just grasping at straws it really is and it's it's it's and it's gotten
04:38to
04:38the point that it's annoying because it's not analysis it's not it's well hey I apparently have
04:45to have some opinion on the Browns and uh well like I guess here's the other thing we've started
04:51to get again the just random dudes on Twitter saying why are you talking about the Shador he's
04:56starting quarterback of the Browns until somebody unseats him for week one he's he's he's actually
05:03in the pole position because he started the last seven games of this last year and he's the guy
05:07who's played the most relevant football on the roster in the last carry the two yeah we don't
05:12need we don't need permission to talk about I can talk about Shador Deshaun it doesn't really
05:15either one of them I think is a more than acceptable thing to talk about yeah I was answering the
05:19like to
05:20me that's what I'm saying like like to the Twitter people out there like if you think we need a
05:23reason to talk about Shador or Deshaun you don't need a reason at this well no I actually do think
05:27you need a reason to talk about Deshaun because I think this is this is gearing so close to a
05:33media
05:33creation talking about Deshaun the Shador is not a media creation anymore he started the last seven
05:38games of last year he did go three and four although that's not the end all be all for analyzing
05:43his
05:44his play but he did make plays he did score touchdowns and they did win more games almost as many
05:50games as they lost that's valid reason to talk about Shador being in the pull position not might
05:57be could be no but in my opinion until until we know that Deshaun is out of the race to
06:03be quarterback
06:03this upcoming year I mean I think it's even worthy if we talk about Dylan Gabriel and even though I
06:07think Dylan Gabriel is going to be traded if that if they're in the quarterback room you can talk about
06:11him is Deshaun in the pull position to be the starter or is Mike Garofalo in my opinion
06:20sensationalizing things that's a nice way I could put it
