00:00If you missed his first appearance on the station since leaving back in 2022,
00:06he is back every single Monday. It's 6 p.m. on the Wiseheart Ride. We make it right. Call Kyle
00:11Wright Hotline. We welcome on of the bullpen, Adam the Bull. What's up, buddy? Yo. What's up,
00:17guys? How you doing? We're doing all right here. I am already a little stir crazy with a football
00:23talk knowing that I've really got, what is it, eight, nine more shows before we actually get
00:29to talk like hardcore something happened in football? Yeah, we got 13 days, Adam. 13 days
00:34till the Browns go. It's too long. It's funny because obviously the season's starting like as
00:39late as it can be because Labor Day is so late this year. I think it's the latest it could
00:43possibly be.
00:44And you're right. You know, it's like we spend the early part of the summer waiting for training camp
00:48and then we're excited for training camp and their storylines. But now the preseason's over. The
00:53rosters have, you know, basically been set. And you're like, oh, I got to wait two, almost two
00:58more weeks before there's actual, actually a real game to talk about. So I hear you. It is
01:03frustrating. I feel like that. I feel like the next two weeks are going to move kind of slow.
01:07Oh, they're going to move at a glacier pace. I, it's going to be, it's going to be awful. And
01:11it's
01:11one of those things where, you know, we're the end of seven months of all these Deshaun versus
01:16Shador convos. We at least have an answer, which is nice, but there's only so much we can do with
01:21this
01:21one, Adam. Yeah, no, well now we got, now you want to see the games and see what it looks
01:26like,
01:27right? You know, they decided to make this crazy move and go with Deshaun Watson and okay, well,
01:31what's it going to, he's looked awful in training camp and he's looked awful in the preseason.
01:35Could he possibly look good in the regular season? I think we're all skeptical about it, but
01:40you know, it'll be fun to see a real game when they, you know, lace them up in two weeks.
01:45So I can't
01:45wait for that. Even though my optimism level is not very high for the team at the moment,
01:50but I'm still looking forward to seeing that actual first game, but we got even before that,
01:54right? There's a Wednesday night game to start this season. You know, Bull, I don't know that
02:00it's fair what you just said there. Like, sure. If the media and fans were there, Deshaun Watson
02:06didn't look any good, but when no one was there and we just take the Browns word for it, Deshaun
02:12did look fantastic in that specific instance. If only that were true, right? You know, like
02:19if there were only like rumblings that he's been fantastic and he's been this and I don't
02:24know. I mean, it's yeah. So I guess he can only play if he can only play well when nobody's
02:30watching, then maybe we could, maybe what we need to do is, is, is do like the COVID year
02:37where nobody goes to the games. I think the Browns for the home games might actually make
02:42that a possibility by starting Deshaun week one. And I was going to say, wait longer enough in
02:46the season that no one will be watching anyway. So we'll be fine. That's true. That's true and true.
02:51Yeah. Uh, Bull, what do you consider to be the first threshold of play that Deshaun Watson has to
02:58clear for this, uh, complete charade to continue? Wow. That's a, that's a tough question. I don't
03:07know. My, my, the bar is so low that if he's below average, it's going to feel like, oh, he's
03:16not too
03:17terrible, right? When the team stinks all the time, when the quarterback play stinks all the time,
03:21you lower your standards and sometimes you don't even realize it. So I don't know. Can, can he,
03:26can he throw for, can he throw for 200 yards and no turnovers? Like I would take that as a
03:35win in
03:35the first game. Is that too much to ask? One touchdown, no turnovers, 200 yards. I don't
03:42even, I don't even feel confident that he could do that. Do you guys? No, not at all. No, not
03:46in
03:46the slightest bit. No, no. Uh, but, but even, okay. So you can settle a debate for us then last
03:51week,
03:51we started the convo of, uh, how many games will he get? Nick says to, I, now this is within
03:56the
03:56prism of what you think the Browns will do. Not what we would do. Obviously. Nick says to,
04:01I think it's going to be eight Adam. And here's why I think the Browns have to make sure that
04:06it
04:06is undeniable that he is not the old version of Deshaun that they've been betting everything on.
04:12They have to really clear, like carefully find out that this other version of Deshaun just does not
04:17exist anymore. And I think that likely takes them maybe six games to actually find that out. And then I
04:22add on another two games because the Browns just don't do things that are sensical and they just,
04:25are they ultimately will find a way to make it eight games when it should be six? Where,
04:28where do you side on this though? Who's closer? I actually would say Nick is closer because I'm
04:35going to say for one thing you're, I think you're right in theory. And I will say that if Deshaun
04:42Watson doesn't get hurt, that I think sadly it will be closer to what you're guessing. But if you factor
04:49in his injury proneness, which is through the roof to the fact that he also will be playing terribly,
04:56I'm going to say four games, that's it. I think Shador goes in game five. That's my prediction
05:03that either injury or such poor play will take him out. But it could be a, like the Browns at
05:11this
05:11point, like, I feel like they're pot committed. They, they want it to work with Deshaun Watson.
05:16I think Todd Munkin wants to say, Hey, the rest of you are idiots. You don't know what you're
05:20talking about. I know what I'm doing here. And this guy is, is our leader and our player. And I
05:26can't even say that with a straight face, but I assume that's what he thinks. And so I think he
05:31would like him to play till week eight, at least if not further. But my bet is he gets hurt
05:36or is just
05:37so bad that they, they, they have to take him out. When did Joe, didn't Joe Flacco take over?
05:42That was four games. Joe got four games, right? He got, no, he got four games and then he was
05:47gone. Four. Right. So I'm going to say it's about, it's the same. I'm going to say it's four
05:51games as Flacco, but either the combination of ineffectiveness and potential injury will
05:57lead to him being out. I don't know which one, but they'll both be bad.
06:02Well, CBS sports, uh, their bold prediction for the Browns is Deshaun last one week as starter
06:08and, uh, that the Browns will start six quarterbacks in 2026. If, if we had to set
06:14the over under for, um, um, amount of, what do you think is the toughest answer? Is it three
06:19and a half? Is it four and a half? Is it two and a half? What's, what's the part where
06:23it
06:23becomes the, maybe the, the most split amongst the over unders for Browns quarterbacks played
06:28in 2026? That's a great question. I'm going to say I'm debating between three. I'm going
06:35to say three and a half because I mean, six is insane, but I can't say it's crazy because
06:40it's the Browns, but I'm going to say three and a half. There's a hundred percent. They're
06:45going to play three quarterbacks. I'd be stunned if three quarterbacks don't play a hundred
06:49percent. I think there's a shot at four. I think a hundred, I'll say 95% at three quarterbacks.
06:55So in the scenario, it goes to Sean into Shador. And then is it Dylan in the back end? Or
06:59are you
06:59talking like a Taylor green week 17 week 18? He gets the final two games scenario.
07:05I'm saying that if Shador, my, my, my guess is going to be Watson's going to get hurt week
07:12four. Okay. That's my best guess. He's going to be ineffective and then he's going to get
07:15hurt. They're going to put in Shador and odds are that he, you know, he's ineffective after
07:21a while or he could get hurt. I mean, maybe I shouldn't be predicting injuries. That's kind
07:25of morbid, but, and at the very least, yes, it'll be a week 17. Okay. Let's, let's let
07:31this kid play and see what he's got. How long, yeah. How long does it take? How long does
07:35it take for the Browns to get bored with Shador? If he's not, if he's not obviously playing
07:39to a high level and what, what, how many games is that? Is that seven games? Is that
07:43eight games? Is that nine games?
07:47All right. So if I'm saying Watson's going to play four, I think at that point, I, I think
07:53they would give Deshaun six to eight games. And I think you're right. If he doesn't get
07:56hurt. So I'll say they're going to give Shador six to eight games to show something.
08:01So I'm going to say Shador takes over in week five. And if he's good, then he's going to
08:07play the rest of the season unless he gets hurt. But if he's, if he's, as you described,
08:12if that happens, I say they give him, yeah, I'll say eight games and then they play tailing,
08:18tailing green at the, at the end of the year for the last three. I mean, I don't even know
08:21if he's going to be capable of playing, but I'll say that. Yeah. If it's clear that they're
08:26moving on at the end of the year that they let green play for a couple of games, I'll
08:31say, I'll say three or four games at the end of the year, both switching gears, suppressing
08:35questions, guys. This is so sad. Look at these conversations we have to have with it. It's
08:41so pitiful, especially because I like, there's a number of things that we all like about this
08:47team. And, but it's so sad because the quarterback situation is so ugly and you don't trust the
08:52Browns because their owner's not trustworthy. And the coach has been weird. And
08:56it's just a lousy situation to start the season.
09:00How much different do you think these conversations would be if they had just named Shador the
09:04starter and not Deshaun?
09:09It would definitely be different. I mean, obviously you guys are more optimistic about
09:13Shador's potential than I am, but still I haven't completely written them off. I think he has a
09:18chance to be a good quarterback. So I think Deshaun Watson has no chance. So yeah, I would,
09:24I would, I'd be going into the season if Shador was a starter saying, Hey, listen, if he plays
09:29well, you play the whole season, even if he's like just decent, he could play the whole season.
09:34I wouldn't be expecting him to get hurt like I am Deshaun Watson. And, and I, I'd have that
09:39little bit of hope in my case, maybe probably more hope in your, for you guys that, okay,
09:44maybe he gets his chance and maybe he proves himself and they don't, I mean, that would be
09:48the ideal situation to not have to take a quarterback next year. So it would be a different
09:54conversation. Uh, certainly no doubt. It wouldn't be quite as depressing as it is right now.
09:59Well, I feel like every year you tell us about like, uh, the fan base falling in love, which is
10:02a
10:02speedy white, wide receiver and being awesome. Uh, and, and Forio was that guy again this year.
10:08And then not only did he not make the 53 man roster, he also didn't make the practice squad
10:12even. And it really just kind of, I think it had a lot of fans outraged. Uh, it didn't bother
10:16me as
10:17much, but it had a lot of fans outraged. Did they, did they make the right call here?
10:21I think so. We, we, listen, the guy's a local guy. I mean, he looks like he, he, he should,
10:28he'll be on a practice squad somewhere. Somebody, somebody told me, somebody that has a connection
10:32to his family told me that the chiefs are one of the teams looking at him for the practice squad,
10:37but we do get, and I wish him the best. I don't know him personally, but because he's a local
10:42guy, you know, you root for him and it stinks that he's not on the Browns, but, and, and
10:46it's easy to say, well, and I've said this a million times, well, the Browns don't know
10:50what the hell they're doing. So they probably got it wrong. And maybe they did. And maybe
10:53you'll end up on the chiefs practice squad and someday playing for them. Who the heck
10:56knows? But we do this every year. There's a, there's, there's a, there's a feisty first
11:02guy in last guy out white dude. That's undersized playing receiver in every Browns training
11:08camp. I feel like there's been seven different guys over the last 10 years and we, and the fan
11:13base always, and we, we all like, this guy's going to make the roster. He's going to make
11:17the roster. And they never make the roster. They never make it. They never get claimed
11:20on waivers by another team. Sometimes they end up on the practice squad or it, but none
11:25of those guys, I can't even remember their names at this point, but I know there's been
11:28a guy almost every year. Yeah. That's the list of the list is long guys. And, and none
11:35of the guys have ever panned out. So I'm hoping, especially because he's a local guy
11:39that he does pan out somewhere and I wish him the best, but let's not get carried away.
11:43Well, and by the way, for those people that are up in arms, was he going to play? Let's
11:47say he made the Browns as the sixth wide receiver. Was he going to play? The sixth wide receiver
11:52is usually inactive or in some cases, and this is why they kept Corley. He's a special teams
11:59guy. The Browns just spent two top 40 picks on wide receivers. They have Jerry Judy. We all
12:04think he stinks, but they have them. And they, and they got Isaiah Bond who showed a lot
12:09of promise. Those four guys, plus Harold Fannin and Quinshot Judkins and Dylan Sampson,
12:15those guys are touching the ball. So even if he made the team as a sixth receiver, great
12:19story, local kid, but come on, he wasn't going to play. Let's say he was the sixth receiver
12:25for the entire season. What does he end up the year with? Five catches for 42 yards?
12:30They'd probably be your leading receiver week 14 on with how the Browns do it.
12:35That's true. I should know better. That is true. He'd have the one game. He'd have the one game
12:41late in the season that we eat, have a big game. And, uh, Dustin and Jake Crawford would be calling
12:47for a contract extension. All right, bull. Uh, we got one month to go. Guardians get back
12:53to baseball tomorrow, Toronto, then Detroit after that. Uh, what are your expectations for the final
12:59month of guardian space ball in the regular season this year? I expect them to play, you know,
13:07not like last year, they're not going to go on some crazy streak. I think that I actually, I've
13:12been picking them to win the division all year, but I actually don't feel good about them winning
13:16division. Do you think they're going to make the playoffs? I think they'll grab the third wild
13:19card, but I just don't feel good about the division. It was really disappointing. I know
13:27great three series in a row, but to lose two out of three to Kansas city, that was a major
13:30bummer.
13:32And, uh, you know, and to listen, Toronto, some of the teams they're playing now, Toronto,
13:38Detroit, Baltimore, like those teams aren't Kansas city. They're not Colorado. Like Toronto's
13:44throwing a couple of good pitchers. Dylan Cease is pitching in that series. Uh, Soriano,
13:49who they got from the angels is pitching that series. I think they're going to face Framberg
13:53against Detroit. So it'll be tougher competition. I liked it than that. You know,
13:57you're playing seven games in six days, which I don't love, but they're all at home. So that's
14:02good. And the tigers aren't playing particularly well right now. So I think the guardians will finish.
14:09I'm going to say three or four games over 500, which will be good enough for the final wild
14:13card. The good news is guys that even if they're at the final wild card, even though they don't get
14:18that by, they're still going to play in the first round. You're going to play either the white
14:23Sox or the Astros or whatever. And then if you win that, you play another one of those teams. So
14:29at least you'd be playing other teams in your neck of the woods and wouldn't have to play the Yankees
14:33Rays or Red Sox until potentially the ALCS. So I'm not counting them out of a run. I'm not count.
14:39I'm not even counting them out of the division. If I had to bet right now, though, I'd say
14:43wild card three and not the division title, unfortunately.
14:48Yeah. It's a weird playoff quirk where it seems like they're going to be fine if they do,
14:53in fact, make it to the playoffs.
14:56Yeah. Baseball should really, well, I'm glad they haven't fixed it yet, but yeah, they should
15:00re-seed. If the six seed wins, they should play the one in the next round, not the two.
15:05Yeah. A hundred percent.
15:06But, you know, that's what football does, but they haven't done that. So that's a major advantage
15:10because the Red Sox, Rays, and Yankees, who are clearly the three best teams in the American
15:14League are all on the same side of the bracket, assuming they finish one, four, five, which
15:18they are. So, you know, that's tough luck for them.
15:22I like anything that kind of tangentially affects Cleveland luck for the better, though.
15:28Yes, exactly. I'm a New Yorker and I'm saying bleep New York. I hate the Yankees. You guys
15:34know this. I hate the Mets. And so I root for the Yankees to lose always. I've never rooted
15:42for them to win in my life. When the Yankees played the Mets, that was terrible because
15:46I didn't know, I didn't root for anybody. That was just awful. But I hate the Yankees
15:51and I hope they lose every game. And I hope Aaron Judge is not able to come back the rest
15:54of the year.
15:56Bull, you're the best, buddy. Appreciate you.
15:59Thank you, Adam.
15:59Love you guys. I'll talk to you next week.
16:01Bye, buddy. Love you, too.
16:02Love you, too.
16:03All right. We got somebody. JP, I'm so glad you love somebody.
16:07I have actual love for Adam.
16:08Yeah. Look at that.
16:09The threshold has to be I actually have.
16:10You don't love Dick and Dayton.
16:11I don't love Dick and Dayton.
16:12But you love the bull.
16:13Who else did I not say love you, too?
16:15Oh, there have been plenty of callers that you don't love.
16:17But I have actual love for Adam. So, you know, it is what it is.
16:20I mean, you told Dick to his face you don't love him. I thought that was bold. But I'm
16:25glad that you love Adam.
16:26I don't even know that I said like for Dick and Dayton.
16:28That's true.
16:29Most people are like, I don't love you. I like you.
16:30Yeah.
16:31Because I just don't throw around loves you like that. But, you know, for Adam.
16:35Certainly not for Dick and Dayton.
16:37Nope. Certainly not.
16:38Nope. Nope. Nope.
16:39Adam appearing on the Wiseheart Right. We Make It Right call. Kyle Right hotline.
