00:04Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:06Let's get right to your weather.
00:07Here's what we can look forward to tonight.
00:10Tonight, fair and cool conditions are expected,
00:12apart from risk a shower with temperatures at 23 degrees in Trinidad
00:16and 24 in Tobago.
00:19And if you found today was hot, well, expect the same heat tomorrow
00:23as conditions would be generally sunny and breezy,
00:26despite a low to medium chance of a few light to moderate showers
00:30occurring mainly during the afternoon,
00:32with maximum temperatures coming in at 31 degrees in Trinidad
00:36and 30 degrees in Tobago.
00:38So you felt the sting of the sun today.
00:40It will happen again tomorrow and for the next two days as well.
00:44According to the Met Office, Friday and Saturday will be sunny and breezy,
00:49but you can also expect a low chance of an isolated shower.
00:52Maximum temperatures are expected at 32 degrees in Trinidad
00:56and 31 in Tobago for both Friday and Saturday.
01:00So with all this sun expected, you know what I like to say.
01:04Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
01:06And here's why.
01:07Did you know that going out in the sun without sunscreen
01:11can have both short-term and long-term effects on your skin,
01:14depending on how strong the sun is and how long you're exposed?
01:18Let me explain.
01:19Going out in the sun without sunscreen exposes your skin to UV radiation,
01:24which can cause immediate effects like sunburn, dryness and tanning,
01:29thanks that your skin is already damaged.
01:31Over time, repeated exposure can break down collagen,
01:35leading to premature aging such as wrinkles and dark spots,
01:39and you know we don't want that.
01:40And it can also harm your eyes.
01:42Most importantly, it increases the risk of skin cancers, including melanoma.
01:47This damage can happen even on cloudy days and affects all skin tones,
01:52gradually building up with everyday exposure,
01:54which is why regular sunscreen use is important.
01:58Well, now you know.
02:00And staying on the topic of sun, here are your sun times.
02:03In Trinidad, sun rises at 6.06 and 6.03 in Tobago,
02:07and sunset at 6.16 in Trinidad and 6.13 in Tobago.
02:12Another place where you definitely need the sunscreen is at the beach.
02:15Tomorrow, the seas will be moderate with waves 1.5 meters to 2 meters in open waters
02:20and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:23It's now time for your tight times.
02:36Well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:37But before I go, I want to send a message to the children writing essay tomorrow.
02:42You put in the work, you said your prayers, now it's just to believe in yourself.
02:47Read all your questions carefully, answer all your questions,
02:50and leave it in God's hands.
02:52And parents, let them know that you are proud of all the hard work they put in.
02:56All the best to you guys.
02:58It's now time for Sports with Sachin.
03:00Thank you very much, Rochelle.
