00:00That's checking out with Rochelle for more on tonight's weather forecast.
00:04Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. I hope you had a great weekend, but it's now time for your weather.
00:10Sunday, November 30th marked the end of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
00:16Here's a quick recap. According to the Met Office, the Atlantic Basin produced 13 named storms,
00:22of which five became hurricanes, including four major hurricanes, with winds reaching 111 miles per hour or greater.
00:32An average season has 40 named storms, seven hurricanes, and three major hurricanes.
00:38According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Melissa developed into the third Category 5 hurricane of the season
00:45and became one of the strongest Atlantic Basin hurricane landfalls on record
00:50when it made landfall in southwestern Jamaica on October 28th,
00:55bringing extensive damage to Jamaica, Hispaniola, and eastern Cuba.
01:00The TTMS wishes to remind the public that we are still in the wet season,
01:04which usually runs until December, so you can still expect periods of rain.
01:09And that's what happened today.
01:11Isolated showers, favorite parts of the Northern Range, East West Corridor,
01:16and southwest Tobago, and sections of the southwest peninsula through late afternoon.
01:23Now for conditions in Port of Spain currently.
01:26We have light rain with temperatures at 28 degrees,
01:29and we have winds coming from the east at 11 kilometers per hour and humidity at 78%.
01:35Over in Tobago, temperatures are 28 degrees with winds coming east-northeast at 7 kilometers per hour and humidity also at 74%.
01:45And tonight, it's looking generally fair apart from a few showery spells, mainly after midnight.
01:52We have temperatures at 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 over in Tobago.
01:58Tomorrow, you're going to wake up to beautiful fair skies, but don't get too comfortable.
02:03Make sure you carry those umbrellas with you, because conditions will become party cloudy at times,
02:08accompanied by a few scattered showers.
02:11There's a low chance of thunderstorm activity.
02:14Maximum temperatures are expected at 31 degrees in both Trinidad and Tobago.
02:19And conditions are only going to get gloomier and wetter as the days go by,
02:25because according to the Met Office, we have some Wednesday will be party cloudy with periods of rain,
02:32and the medium chance of the isolated thunderstorm with maximum temperatures of 31 degrees in Trinidad
02:38and 30 degrees over in Tobago.
02:41And Thursday will be the same, but this time giving us more cloud cover,
02:46temperatures coming at 30 degrees in Trinidad and 29 over in Tobago.
02:51Now, here's when I tell you when you can catch sunrise and chase sunsets.
02:57In Trinidad, sunrise is at 6.09 and 6.06 in Tobago,
03:01and sunset is at 5.41 in Trinidad and 5.37 over in Tobago.
03:07And if you prefer a more quiet beach day than usual and planning on heading there tomorrow,
03:13here's what you can expect.
03:14Seas are moderate with waves 1.5 meters to 2 meters in open waters
03:18and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
