Springlike weather is arriving in the Northeast just in time for soaking storms followed by cooler air.
Transcript
00:00Let's go to the northeast now. Winter impact still lingering into spring here in upstate New York.
00:04The ice scraper is still out for some as they're getting that off of the windshields.
00:09And that kind of ice, like just enough that you need to do something, it's the worst to scrape off
00:15the windshield.
00:16Never fun. I mean, you can see it's just not easy.
00:19Now, hopefully, we'll be seeing an end to this sooner rather than later.
00:24But you know what? We're not quite there yet because the roller coaster continues.
00:28We are on the up part of the roller coaster, taking a look at your Thursday overall.
00:33We are now across the board warmer than we should be this time of year.
00:37Take a look at Boston. Usually you're in the upper 40s. Instead, low 60s tomorrow.
00:41Get out and enjoy it while you can and earlier in the day rather than later because we've had a
00:46trend recently as well
00:47that every nice day just about has at least a rain or thunderstorm risk.
00:52And you know what? Thursday is no exception, unfortunately.
00:55Thursday night, here's what things look like.
00:58We have the rain, we have the thunderstorms, we have the cold front that will drop our temperatures down.
01:03So the warmest air, usually right before the cold front, that's why things are going to be so nice tomorrow
01:08if you're wanting the spring-like feel or even like mid to late spring, really.
01:14Take a look at future radar, give you an idea of how all of this rain plays out.
01:18So we get the precursor overnight. And yes, Maine, I'm sorry, it's snow for you, at least for some of
01:26you.
01:26Now into the mid-Atlantic, by Thursday mid to late morning, we start to see a round of rain moving
01:32in.
01:33Then there's the Maine event. Already by 5 p.m. across New York State, we are seeing even some heavy
01:39downpours at times.
01:40So that's why I'm saying get out and about earlier rather than later if you can.
01:44If you have to work, maybe you can take lunch outside, whatever you want to do.
01:48Continuing on through time here, more and more heavy rain. There's a couple rounds of it.
01:53So Friday morning, I-95 corridor up along the east coast all the way towards Boston.
01:57You have heavy downpours, could impact your morning commute. Not a bad idea to give yourself some extra time.
02:03Then we finally get rid of it except for the mid-Atlantic because we go throughout the day.
02:07The weekend, though, looking much drier. So at least there's that.
02:12And it's a short-lived cool-down. By the weekend, we already start to rebound again.
02:16Boston, though, right back to your historical average by Friday.
02:1935 once again in Buffalo. We can't stop there. I've got to at least show you the weekend.
02:24We'll use New York as an example. Saturday, not great.
02:28But by Sunday, we're back to the 50s, right about in line with our historical average.
02:32Bridge.
