00:00Staying in the skies, but back here in the states, lightning lit up the sky near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in York,
00:06just to the west.
00:07Early yesterday morning, southwest of Harrisburg, as storms move through the region, the flashes could be seen in the distance
00:13before sunrise as unsettled weather continued across parts of central Pennsylvania.
00:19Now we want to head over to Anna Azalian with a look at the northeast forecast. Anna?
00:25Well, after a very cold and dreary week in the northeast, we have a warm-up to talk about just
00:31in time for the weekend.
00:32But the question is, how long does it last? Well, we're going to dive into it.
00:36Now, the first thing we have to talk about, though, we do have some rain. I know.
00:41So a little bit of a damper on the weekend plans.
00:43But let's go through Future Radar, give you an idea of where and when, because it's not a total washout.
00:47So Saturday morning, 6.30, Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, you have a brief washout.
00:53I mean, that's heavy downpours, and we could see some flash flooding in some areas.
00:56Then it works its way into the northeast, but things really break up before it fully gets into the region,
01:01and that's a trend that's going to continue.
01:02So Saturday evening, it becomes much more spotty as it works its way towards the coast.
01:07But, of course, it's not the only round.
01:09Here's round two working its way in.
01:10Again, a much bigger problem into the central U.S., into the Great Lakes, because that's where we have the
01:15severe weather threat.
01:15That's where we have more of the flash flooding concern.
01:18Very spotty Sunday.
01:20Keep in mind, the Preakness this weekend, Saturday, could see a few showers that could get in the way.
01:27It's something we're going to be watching.
01:28Now, let's talk about the heat.
01:31Take a look at the weekend overall, 70s, 80s, and it's going to get even hotter by the time we
01:36get to the week.
01:38So let's take a look at the next seven days, somewhere like Philadelphia.
01:41Give you an example here.
01:43Now, we are talking heat and humidity.
01:45So, by Tuesday, Wednesday, these 90s, they're going to feel closer to triple digits because of the humidity.
01:51That's when we talk about accu-weather, real field temperatures, not just the humidity, but all kinds of factors that
01:55factor into that equation.
01:57Here's the thing, though.
01:58Cold front moves through Wednesday to Thursday, 20-degree drop.
02:02So, if you've been wanting summer, enjoy it while you can.
02:05See you then.
02:05See you then.
