00:00Hello there, good morning and welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office.
00:05We'll see a bit of a north-south divide with our weather as we move through the course
00:09of the day.
00:09High pressure holding on across much of England and Wales, but this area of low pressure will
00:13bring some wetter and windy weather, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:18Some of this rain on the heavy side as well.
00:22This morning a cold start to the day, some frost in places, fog patches too, but this
00:28slowly lifting and breaking.
00:30Spells of hazy sunshine across England and Wales through the day, perhaps this becoming more
00:34confined to the southern counties of England and Wales come in the afternoon, and cloudy
00:39skies taking over across parts of Northern Ireland, much of Scotland, Northern England
00:43as well.
00:44Some patchy rain pushing eastwards across Northern Ireland into Northern Scotland through
00:48the day, and then some heavier rain across the highlands developing some mountain snow
00:52possible here as well.
00:54The winds picking up through into the afternoon, gales developing around the coasts of Scotland,
01:00and the best of the sunshine towards the south-east, highs around 15 to 16 degrees, just feeling
01:04colder with the strength of the wind across the north-west.
01:08Further rain across Scotland, Monday evening time continuing to push in, this moving further
01:13south-eastwards into the early hours across parts of Northern Ireland and Southern Scotland,
01:18Northern England, some of this rain turning heavy later on as well.
01:21England and Wales generally dry, but on the cloudy side, and the wind's starting to pick
01:26up here too.
01:27So temperatures not falling as low as recent nights, holding up 6, 7 degrees in places,
01:32blustery showers around the coasts, in particular of north-west Scotland.
01:37So an unsettled start to the day here, showers turning increasingly wintry, band of rain across
01:42Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, Northern England just slowly pushing southwards through
01:46the day on Tuesday.
01:47The rain heavy over the hills of north-west England into north-west Wales as well.
01:52The best of the dry weather holding on across parts of the Midlands, Central Southern England,
01:56East Anglia, South East England, and some sunny spells possible here at times, lifting temperatures
02:01again up to around 15 or 16 degrees.
02:04Feeling quite cold under the cloud and rain across northern parts of Wales, Northern England,
02:09and those blustery showers turning increasingly wintry still across parts of Scotland.
02:14This weather system will sink southwards through Tuesday evening, clearing to leave a much colder
02:20day on Wednesday for all.
02:22A mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers, the showers following the snow over the high
02:26ground, particularly in the north, turning a little drier come Thursday.
02:30Temperatures for all back down nearer to average.
02:32The strength of the north-westerly wind over the next few days, it will feel colder as well.
