00:00Many of my followers on this platform have said this technique has changed their life
00:03and that makes me very very proud.
00:05If you hate the way foundation looks on you and you ever feel like it feels too heavy
00:08but you still want to be impeccably covered and have perfect coverage
00:12then let me introduce you to the priming the brush method
00:15which is where you take a full coverage foundation
00:17you smear it into a brush, you smush it into the brush, you prime it into the brush
00:22because priming is not a product, it is a technique.
00:25Yes, brands have used the word priming to create products
00:29which is valid also.
00:30But when you prime the brush with the product
00:33that application becomes so much smoother, so much easier
00:39and gives you flawless impeccable coverage
00:43without the need of actually blending the product in.
00:46You just simply sweep it across the face until you have the coverage that you want
00:50versus any of this shit.
00:53This takes longer, you use way more product than what you actually need
00:57and you can also build this side by simply going in with more product from what's in the brush.
01:02The do's and don'ts of priming the brush are
01:04don't prime the brush with a solid stick or solid concealer or solid foundation
01:09because it's technically already primed.
01:11Don't apply foundation directly to the face.
01:13Use a palette or your hand.
01:14If your hands are clean, that is also considered a palette.
01:17And no, your skin is not drinking the product,
01:19it is just sitting there and ready for you to pick up some more when you're ready for more.
01:22The waste actually comes into play when I do something like what I just did.
01:25Now I have to move excess product out of my brush
01:28so that I can effectively blend this side of my face
01:31because I overused my product.
01:32I say this because there's a lot of like, this is a wasteful technique.
01:34It actually isn't.
01:35You're using less.
01:37So more do's and don'ts are don't apply what's on the brush first
01:41to any areas where you have fine lines or any deeper set wrinkles
01:45because those areas getting the majority of the product on the brush first
01:49will mean the coverage is heaviest there, which means it will crease thicker.
01:53Crease more obviously there.
01:54So instead, go to areas of the face that are quite flat
01:57and start applying the product there.
01:59Then with what's left in the brush, go to those areas
02:02where maybe you have some folds or some creases to minimize creasing.
02:07You should never really need to apply more than one pump of foundation for the entire face.
02:11You can go back to the hand where I first initially applied,
02:13pick up my product and continue to build the foundation and the coverage level
02:17simply by picking up what's left on the hand
02:20as well as using what's still in the brush.
02:22It's not evaporating when it's in the brush.
02:24You will be washing some of it out when you clean your brush,
02:26but that goes with anything.
02:28And a way to check how much product is still in the brush,
02:33smush it on your mouth.
02:34Because your mouth becomes concealer lip,
02:37then you know there's still product in the brush
02:38and then just keep working.
02:40If your ears are pink and your hair is tied back,
02:41please do the ears.
02:43This is especially for brides.
02:45Oh, on the topic of brides.
02:47Tomorrow morning at 10am New York time,
02:513pm British Standard time,
02:53I'm going to be going live with Hannah,
02:54who is a creator on here
02:57who has been practicing their wedding makeup for you all to see.
03:00I'm going to go live with Hannah to
03:02answer any questions that they might have
03:04and hopefully you will all join us.
03:07And just to round this out,
03:08the priming the brush method works really beautifully
03:10and probably works best with a foundation
03:13that is thin inconsistency,
03:15watery, liquid inconsistency.
03:16So something that kind of has a bit of a drip to it
03:18that has full coverage.
03:21I would prime the brush with a skin tint,
03:23but I would probably just pick it up with the brush
03:25and then sweep it on and blend it on my face.
03:27What the priming the brush method is doing
03:29is just easing that coverage
03:31and helping that coverage get there more gradual
03:34as opposed to over committing with too much product
03:36and having to blend it in.
03:37You kind of have to test the method
03:39with the brushes and the tools that you have.
03:40And with the foundations and skin tints
03:41and complexion products that you have
03:43to see what's going to work for you.
03:44But this method does work
03:45and it actually works for every product in your makeup bag.
03:48For example, I could apply some blush to my cheek.
03:50I can blend it and it'll blend just fine,
03:52but I've over applied and I didn't need that much.
03:55However, I can take a little bit
03:56of this blush stick to my hand,
03:59prime it into my brush
04:00and have a much easier time of applying it
04:03and be more in control of how much I actually use.
04:06I had a video go viral on this technique
04:08that has amassed about 13,000 views,
04:13500,000 saves.
04:15I garnered 177,000 new followers from that video.
04:21So 177,000 of you are not wrong.
04:25Give this a try because it's worked for so many people
04:28and I know it can work for so many more.
04:30I also just want to end this on,
04:32I'm using my concealer brush to blend in my blush
04:34because that's a little hack.
04:35I also want to end this on,
04:37I want to thank everybody so much
04:39who has tagged me in this content
04:42that you've been recreating on yourself
04:43and sort of doing, you know,
04:45the priming the brush method.
04:46It's so sweet to know
04:48that I have impacted your makeup routine
04:50in this way
04:52and that you're enjoying using this method.
04:54I'll see you in a bit.
04:55Also, this glow on my skin
04:59is this,
05:00this Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream.
05:03It is linked in my bio in my skincare favorites.
05:06If you have dry skin, you will love it.
05:07If you have oily skin, you probably won't.
05:09It's very emollient and juicy.
05:11Okay, I'll see you in a bit.
05:12Bye.
