Some guidance on placement. ##FYP##Bronzer##Blush##Contour##Highlighter##MakeupAdvice##kjhtaughtme
Transcript
00:00If you're confused about the placements of your contour, your bronzer, and your blush, then stick around.
00:05And just FYI, those three things can be worn on the face at the same time.
00:09Now, your bronzer, whether it's cream or powder, is designed to give you warmth, colour, glow, sort of radiance from
00:17the sun.
00:18Put the fakes on.
00:19Or enhancing what you obviously got from the sun.
00:23Bronzer is something that I think can be used very liberally, generously across the face.
00:29Down the nose, across the cheeks, on the eyelids, forehead, yeah.
00:38Essentially, anywhere that the sun hits the face first on you is where you should bronze.
00:43So if you naturally get colour on the forehead, if you naturally get colour across your cheeks, if you naturally
00:47get colour across your nose, that's the placement that your bronzers should go.
00:50It will give you a nice warm glow.
00:51Now, your contour products should go anywhere where you naturally have shadows.
00:55If you don't have those shadows there, then make them up, put them where you want them to be.
00:59This is a grey, cool-toned contour stick that I love.
01:04And I always put it sort of here.
01:05I love to put it on my eyelids too, just there.
01:08Tip of my nose, sometimes down the nose, jaw.
01:11So anywhere that you want shadows to develop is where your contour should go.
01:14I'm going to blend that in with a different brush just so that I can keep contamination of different colours
01:19merging into one another at minimum.
01:21Because someone can have contours on their face at the same time as being bronzy.
01:25And as far as them sort of placement-wise being in a similar location, they can be in a similar
01:30location.
01:30You just want to make sure that there's a little bit of blend of the two shades and finishes.
01:37Not finishes because the finishes is irrelevant, but you know what I mean.
01:39Like, my bronzer is all across here, my contours are a touch lower, contours also on the nose, contours also
01:45on the eyelids.
01:46This brush is amazing, it's from Hourglass.
01:48I normally don't go for brushes like this, but it just makes blending so, so easy.
01:53It doesn't actually have a number, so I can't tell you what it's called.
01:56But it looks like this.
01:58Contour can also go right here on the hairline, where you naturally might have a little bit more of a
02:06darker hairline, depending on your complexion.
02:10So I sometimes put a little bit of contour right there.
02:13But I think it's nice to do that with bronzer as well, so that it's not just grey.
02:16Now for your blush.
02:17This totally depends on you and how you flush naturally.
02:20I'm going to just take a little bit of the Raisin Shade of Soft Smush KJH brand on the number
02:24one brush.
02:25And I'm going to just smile and see, do I want it there or do I want it up high?
02:30I think the benefit of blush is that you can really put it wherever you want.
02:33It's sort of just like how you want to feel that day, because it's more of an accessory than it
02:38is a shadow or a tan kind of tone.
02:41But you see, all three of these formulas actually work really well together.
02:45And they're not fighting with one another, they're not competing.
02:47They're all actually enhancing one another in a really nice way.
02:50I do think a little bit of blush is always beautiful across the nose, especially if you're a fan of
02:54a bit of a tan kind of complexion and a few freckles.
02:59And it might completely surprise you, but I do think a nice, a little tiny bit of what's left in
03:04your brush from your blush step is nice in the hairline too,
03:07because it stops the blush from just feeling like so stagnant on the cheek.
03:11Same goes for a little bit on the eyelids.
03:13I want to encourage you that makeup is completely rule-free.
03:16Whatever you want to do with your makeup is what you should do.
03:19Don't really worry about what other people tell you to do.
03:21I'm just here to give you a bit of guidance.
03:23And if that guidance helps you make decisions in your makeup journey, then great.
03:27If it doesn't, and you've already got those ways down, then that's good too.
03:30Now highlighter.
03:31I'm going to take my small number one brush from KJH brand.
03:35I'm just going to pop a tiny bit of highlighter down the bridge of my nose.
03:39A little bit on the lip.
03:40Actually, I'm going to use my finger for the lip, because I've got a glossy finish on.
03:44I'm going to smack them together, and then just a little bit of highlighter on the cheek,
03:48but very forward so that you can see it from the front of my face, because that's just how I
03:52particularly like it.
03:54A little on the tip of the nose is cute, but like kind of at an angle, not like straight
03:57on reindeer vibe.
03:59And now at this point, you're kind of ready for concealer.
04:01I've got some concealer on my hand, priming it into a brush, and then that can just refine all of
04:06those details
04:08or do a little bit of complexion coverage.
04:10I think it's nice to do a little underpaint with your bronzer, blush, contour, highlight,
04:15and get your skin looking kind of as close to what you want it to look like without foundations and
04:20concealers.
04:20And do your concealers at the end.
04:22You'll use way less complexion product from it.
04:24You'll find that you get coverage in a weird sort of way out of those other products that I just
04:28used.
04:29Obviously, if you have more acne-prone skin or you've got, you know, acne scars or you've got different things,
04:34I mean, acne scars are texture, so it's not really something that you can really conceal
04:37other than with a texture sort of control.
04:41You know, just have a little go of this method and see if it works for you,
04:45if you like that minimal complexion sort of look.
04:49And just really sort of building your concealer products slowly and only where you need it.
04:57I remember once, like, back in my days of working with Spacing K,
05:01I think I learned from one of the other people that worked there,
05:04whether it was a rep for a brand or a fellow in-store associate,
05:08they were like, I don't need foundation on my nose, so I don't put foundation on my nose.
05:12But I do want foundation or concealer down the sides where I'm a bit red.
05:15But I don't necessarily need it on the top.
05:17And I urge you to just consider where you might need the product from a coverage perspective.
05:23I say need with air quotes because we don't need any of it.
05:25It's all just fun at the end of the day.
05:27It's all just stuff we use to, you know, make ourselves feel who we want to feel that day.
05:32Makeup isn't a necessity.
05:34It's a, um, wait, is that the right way?
05:37Is that the word? Necessity?
05:38Like, we don't need any of it to be acceptable forms of ourselves.
05:44I use makeup as a way to express how I feel that day.
05:48Or I use makeup to just bring out my features that, um, I like more so that I'm creating contrast.
05:55So then if you feel like that concealer step ever took anything back,
05:59you can just take a little bit of whatever product it is that you feel like isn't visible anymore
06:02and just go back in with it.
06:03This is the bronzer, the cream bronzer shade.
06:06And I just want a little bit more of that in the mix so that I feel a little bit
06:09more glowy.
06:14And bringing it in those areas that I first originally put it.
06:19And then I'm going to powder.
06:21Now, your powder can do tricks.
06:22So this is just the Charlotte Tilbury number one.
06:25But I'm going to put a little bit on a brush under where I did that contour
06:30and just leave it for a moment.
06:31This is like a baby bake.
06:32It's like I'm not baking, but I'm not not baking.
06:35I'm just using a teeny tiny brush to just set and control the shine.
06:41I always think it's easier to add more than it is to take product off.
06:44So just start with a little bit.
06:46And then you can always go in with more before you leave the house.
06:49Or you can even take your compact with you.
06:50I always take a compact with me and lipstick throughout the day.
06:53Um, those are my sort of cam bag, cam bag, handbag products.
06:58So I've done a little contouring, uh, reverse contouring, whatever you want to call it,
07:02powdered under my contour.
07:03So I'm just going to blend it out just a little bit.
07:07And what's a really great thing to do with this brush now is if you want to enhance your
07:10contour a little bit more, this brush with that touch of powder that's in it from that
07:14brush is actually going to half your contour powder and make it even more natural.
07:19If you ever feel like your contour powder is quite intense, you can just put a little
07:23bit of setting powder in the contour brush, brush that you're going to do your contour
07:27with, and it will sort of cut it.
07:29Obviously, the more that you keep going back to the pan, then you're going for a full,
07:32you know, amount of color.
07:34But it's just a little hack that helps to sort of half the amount of what's in the brush.
07:39Um, especially for areas that I think we should be more delicate with contour.
07:43That was lint, not an orb.
07:45Um, here I think is an area where we should be delicate with contour as opposed to here
07:50is fine.
07:50Just push it into the hairline.
07:52Here I think you can go heavier depending on if you've got very, very deep set eyes.
07:56Um, I think sometimes deep set eyes don't need all the shadows that somebody with lids
08:00like mine do.
08:01Another great thing for your contour.
08:03I'm rambling.
08:04I hope this is okay.
08:05I hope you're enjoying the little rambles.
08:07Uh, bit on the brush and then lining the eyes with it to create a shadow.
08:14Literally creating intentional dark circles because dark circles are beautiful.
08:18Don't cover them completely.
08:19Just cover from here to here and use the rest as eyeshadow.
08:24You might not have heard that one before.
08:26This is a Sephora collection blush, uh, contour light to medium.
08:30And that's it.
08:32Uh, I hope that was interesting and helpful.
08:34Pop any comments in the questions box below.
08:36And I do want to say, um, I'm getting a lot of messages lately on the feed or in DMs
08:41just
08:42saying like, thank you so much for these tips and tricks.
08:45Your advice has completely changed the game for me with makeup.
08:48Um, if you ever find that something really helps you, I'd love to know in the comments
08:53section.
08:53It really helps me to understand what tip or what trick kind of goes in there and it's
08:57like, ah, that makes sense to me because I don't know unless you're just
09:00tell me.
09:01And then if I know what the majority, I'm not going to always share the same tip, right?
09:06But if I don't know what the majority of people find super duper helpful, then I don't know
09:10to do more of that in that context, I guess.
09:13Um, and also feel free to share it with someone ever.
09:15If you're like, oh, my friend would really benefit from this.
09:17Or you think this is a really good tip or a really good trick and you would love more
09:21people to see it as well.
09:22I would love you to pass it on, pass on the message, pass on the word.
09:27All right.
09:28I'll see you in a little bit.
09:29I've got a busy day of creating content as I am traveling tomorrow for a few weeks
09:34and I'm very excited.
09:36I'll see you in a little bit.
09:36Do you know what he's giving me.
