00:00I'm 40 years old and concealer never ever sinks into my fine lines and this is why.
00:05Also, I've currently not got any fillers or injectables in my face.
00:07I have dabbled slightly with just like baby Botox.
00:10Haven't had it for a few years.
00:12I would tell you if I did.
00:13Also, let's just not shame anybody's personal journey with their skin ever.
00:17Thanks.
00:18It's your face.
00:18You can do what you want with it.
00:19So, priming the brush and the placement of where you first place the product are the
00:24two most important things.
00:25You do also have to consider skincare and the climate that you live in.
00:30Reason why you have to consider skincare is because if your skincare is on thick and rich
00:33and creamy, which you might need, it's going to make areas where you would crease, crease easier.
00:39And if the climate is hot, it's going to make the makeup products that you put in those areas
00:44crease easier.
00:46For this demonstration, I am using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer Magic Touch in the
00:50shade number nine.
00:51Now, on one side of my face, I'm going to show you what I would not ever do because this
00:56is where I will get a lot of creasing and unnecessary amount of product.
01:01I'm going to blend that in.
01:02So, I've placed the concealer in a fold down the side of my mouth and my nose, the nasolabial
01:07fold right there.
01:08That is going to crease quickly and heavily and it's going to be obvious.
01:11And later on through the day, I'm going to have to wipe most of it off.
01:15This thing I like to call squid eyes, which is where your concealer is right up against
01:19your lower lash line and the top lid for that matter.
01:22I just think it's not necessary.
01:24I don't think it looks very good.
01:25I think it kind of makes the eye look obscure and can sometimes make the eye look smaller.
01:29Bear in mind, this is the side that I would not do.
01:32Like, see my eye?
01:33I haven't blended it fully, but it just looks weird.
01:35Like, the white of my eye just looks strange.
01:37And then I'm going to blend in this.
01:39Okay, and as I'm blending it in, I'm really sort of pushing it in.
01:44I've got on a little bit of a highlighter underneath.
01:46So, it's giving my skin a little bit of emollientness and a little bit of a sheen.
01:50I'm just going to blend that in well to give it the benefit of the doubt, okay?
01:54So, here's the side that I would not do.
01:56I just think it's too much product.
01:58I don't need this much product.
01:59And my lash line looks strange and weird.
02:02And any product that is here is going to gather shortly.
02:05And actually, this enhanced my fine lines and wrinkles quite a lot.
02:08For the other side of my face, I'm going to take a little concealer onto the heel of my palm.
02:13Close the lid.
02:14Take that same brush, but buff all of the product on the heel of my palm into my brush.
02:18And I'm going to do the same areas, but I'm going to go from the brush as opposed to depositing
02:23the product on my face.
02:25And I'm not going to go as close to that lash line because that is the squid eye look that
02:29we don't want.
02:30I'm going to go onto the lid there and just do a little bit of that on there.
02:34And then down those nasal labial folds and into the crease of the nose.
02:37Bear in mind, there was still a little bit of product in this brush from that first pass that I
02:41did on the side of my face.
02:42But I will let you all be the judge of which side looks better.
02:46Yes, there is argument and debate too.
02:48You might want a fuller coverage look, which if you do, you go in again for a second pass.
02:53But the priming of the brush takes most of the product and makes it mesh well with your skin better.
02:58Makes you use less.
02:59It makes you look less like you've got a full face of foundation on your face.
03:05But if you like that kind of look, that's also okay.
03:07It's like the analogy of painting a wall.
03:10You wouldn't just pick paint up from the tray that you spilt it into to use from and slap it
03:16on a wall because there'd be drip.
03:17There'd be like mess on the wall.
03:19You would hopefully like, you know, prime it into the roller first or prime it into the paintbrush first.
03:24And then start to sweep it on the wall and sort of maneuver it around and press it in and
03:29blend it in.
03:30There's really not a huge difference from doing it this way on the face.
03:35So this is the side that I prefer.
03:37This is the other side.
03:38I haven't really fully blended in that corner.
03:40But I just think my eye looks so much more natural on this side.
03:44Fine lines and wrinkles are less pronounced because there's less makeup sitting inside of them.
03:47And this nasolabial fold here just looks fresher and nicer.
03:51Anyway, weigh in on the comments below.
03:53I'm just going to show you though my powder technique for this makeup.
03:57I would just take a little bit of setting powder, press it in gently to those areas that I want
04:02to make sure it doesn't fall away.
04:04So I bet my eyelid is creased like crazy.
04:07Yes, it has.
04:07This side does not.
04:08I also powdered it.
04:09I could powder this side, but you would never powder over a crease because then you're powdering makeup that is
04:17just going to crease more.
04:18Moral of the story is, prime the product with a brush.
04:20Use less and you can always add more if you feel like you need it.
04:26I hope this was helpful.
04:27And if it wasn't helpful to you, that's okay.
04:30Because it was probably helpful to somebody else.
