00:02It's such a great joy and privilege
00:04for all of us to have this blessed and beautiful morning,
00:07to see the beautiful creation of God
00:10and to look at ourselves,
00:12to thank Him for the blessed day
00:15and the faithfulness and the goodness of God
00:18from all our lives.
00:19Let's pray.
00:21Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father
00:23and God our Father in Heaven,
00:26we come before Your presence this morning
00:29to thank You,
00:31to remember what You have done in each of our lives.
00:35Precious Lord,
00:36this morning as we prepare our hearts for Your divine word,
00:40we pray and we ask You
00:42that You will give Your word for us
00:44and strengthen us
00:46and prepare us for Your coming.
00:48Teach us Your will and Your purpose for all of our life
00:52that we might see the beauty of Your word
00:54and to write it upon the tablet of our hearts.
00:58In Jesus' name we ask and we pray.

01:03This morning, if you have your Bible with me,
01:06turn with me to the Gospel of John chapter 10.
01:11Through all the Gospel of John,
01:14there were seven sayings that Jesus Christ declared Himself
01:19that I am.
01:21In John chapter 6,
01:24Jesus said that I am the bread of life.
01:27In John chapter 14,
01:29that Jesus said,
01:30I am the way,
01:31the truth,
01:32and the life.
01:34But in John chapter 10,
01:36that Jesus Christ called Himself,
01:38I am the good shepherd.
01:41One question we have to wait up here and think.
01:45If Jesus Christ is called Himself as the good shepherd,
01:49then who are His sheep?
01:52Psalm chapter 100 and verse 3,
01:55We are His people and the sheep of His pastor.
01:59Psalm chapter 23 and verse 1,
02:02The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want.
02:06David was also a shepherd for his sheep
02:09before he was being anointed as a king for the people of Israel.
02:14But he understood who he was before the Lord
02:17and said,
02:19I am a sheep and He is my shepherd in my life.
02:24This morning, friends,
02:25the Lord is asking us a question,
02:27Who is your shepherd in your life?
02:30Or by whom are we being led our life on this earth?
02:37Come back to the Gospel of John chapter 10.
02:40This morning, we are going to study on
02:44why Jesus is called as the good shepherd.
02:48And what does the good shepherd does in the Bible?
02:52The very first thing is,
02:54turn with me to John chapter 10 and verse 28.
02:59Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
03:04The first one,
03:06the good shepherd will protect his sheep.
03:10Jesus said that no man can pluck you and me
03:13out of his hand.
03:16We are secure in the hands of God.
03:20There is security for each of our life
03:23in His precious hand.
03:27In 1 Samuel chapter 17 and verse 34 and verse 35,
03:31when David was feeding the sheep of his father
03:37and the Bible says there came a bear
03:39and there came a lion
03:43and took up a lamb,
03:46a sheep from its flock.
03:52And David was not calm.
03:55He didn't say,
03:56I have many sheep.
03:58Or he didn't say,
03:59why should I need to care of the sheep?
04:01Which the sheep
04:02or the lion which was been taken up.
04:06He went after it.
04:09He rescued
04:11the sheep from its mouth
04:12and he smote
04:14and he killed
04:15it when it
04:17rebelled against David.
04:20So friends,
04:21this morning,
04:22David as a good shepherd,
04:24he rescued
04:25and he protected
04:26his sheep
04:27from its prey.
04:29Jesus Christ
04:30is also our good shepherd
04:32who has protected us.
04:35You know,
04:36our lifespan is very little.
04:38Our lifespan is just like a wild flower.
04:40It's just like a wild grass
04:41which flourishes early in the morning
04:43and which dries away in the evening.
04:46But Jesus had protected us
04:48as a good shepherd.
04:50He has given us a new life
04:51and new day.
04:54He has protected us
04:55from the eternal death.
04:56He has protected us
04:57from the eternal hell.
04:58He has protected us
04:59from the wages of sin.
05:01He has protected us
05:02from the death
05:03and he also protected us
05:05from the slavery,
05:07bondage,
05:07and the darkness.
05:09He has protected us
05:11from the wrath of God.
05:13He is our good shepherd
05:15who has protected us
05:17every single moment
05:18in each of our life.
05:21We are secure
05:22in the hands of God.
05:27And the second thing is
05:28the good shepherd
05:30will not only protect us,
05:32but the good shepherd
05:33will guide us.
05:35Turn with me
05:36to the book of
05:37Psalms chapter 23
05:39and verse 3.
05:40The Bible says this way.
05:42Psalm 23
05:43and verse 3.
05:45He leadeth me
05:46in the paths
05:47of righteousness
05:48for his name
05:50sake.
05:52The Lord
05:53is a good divine
05:54and a guidance
05:55and he is a good leader
05:57for each one of us.
06:00The good shepherd
06:01will always
06:02lead up
06:03his sheep
06:04into a right
06:05and righteous path.
06:10In the book
06:10of Ezekiel
06:12chapter 34,
06:13the Lord
06:14has given us
06:15the responsibility
06:19to some shepherds
06:20over the flock
06:21of the people
06:22of Israel.
06:25And what the shepherds
06:26of Israel
06:27they have done
06:27is they did not
06:28take care
06:29of the sheep
06:30which the Lord
06:30had given
06:31the responsibility
06:32worth it.
06:35So that's why
06:36they have been
06:37wandered
06:37and some have been
06:39gone up into
06:40a type
06:40and talk places
06:41and have been
06:42wandered away.
06:43Some have been
06:44deserted
06:44and some have been
06:45on a mountain
06:46tops.
06:47There is no one
06:48who careth for them.
06:51They are false
06:52shepherds.
06:55But here in this passage
06:57that Jesus Christ
06:58is our good shepherd
06:59who leads us.
07:02This morning friends
07:03the Lord has
07:04led us to have
07:06this beautiful day.
07:07This beautiful day.
07:09That's why the Bible
07:10says the Lord
07:11will lead us
07:12even unto our death
07:13till we meet
07:14our God
07:15till we meet
07:16the second coming
07:17of Christ
07:18till we meet
07:19our Lord Jesus Christ
07:20by face to face
07:21he will be
07:22our guide.
07:23He will guide
07:25us.
07:25He will guide us
07:26by his right
07:27hand.
07:28Though we are
07:29walking through
07:30the trials
07:31afflictions
07:31sufferings
07:32and turmoils
07:34ups and downs
07:35in our life
07:35and sickness
07:36and diseases
07:37some shared
07:38relationship
07:39but the Lord
07:39will always
07:40lead us
07:41because he is
07:43our good shepherd.
07:45The good shepherd
07:46will always
07:47guide us.
07:49Jesus our good shepherd
07:51he has
07:52guided us
07:53to have this
07:53beautiful day
07:54and he will be
07:55also guiding us
07:57every day
07:58that we are going
07:59to face
07:59in each of our lives.

08:32but the good shepherd
