00:02Ibrahim, Abraham, with the name of Allah, the most gracious, the ever merciful.
00:10Alif, Lam, Ra, I am Allah, the all-seeing.
00:16This is a great book which we have revealed to you, that you may bring humankind by the
00:22leave of their Lord out of different kinds of darkness into light.
00:26To the path of the Almighty, the praiseworthy, to the path of Allah, to whom belongs all
00:35that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and woe to the disbelievers for a dreadful
00:41punishment that will befall them, such as prefer the present life to the hereafter and forsake
00:48the path of Allah and hinder the people from it and try to paint it as crooked, seeking
00:55to undertake it by remaining crooked.
00:58It is these who have gone far off in error.
01:02And we sent no messenger, but he spoke the language of his people so that he might make
01:08all our messages clear to them.
01:11Yet Allah leaves in error those who wish to remain in error and guides him who wishes to
01:17be guided to the right path.
01:18And he is the Almighty, the all-wise.
01:23And we sent Moses with our signs, saying, Bring forth your people from different kinds
01:30of darkness into light, and remind them of Allah's favors and punishments.
01:35Behold, there are signs in these narratives for every patiently persevering and grateful person.
01:44And call to mind when Moses said to his people, Remember Allah's blessings upon you, when he
01:51delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with painful sufferings, and slew
01:57your sons and spared your women, to make them immodest.
02:01And in that deliverance there was a great reward from you alone.
02:06And recall when your Lord made it known to you, If you indeed be thankful, I will bestow
02:13more favors on you.
02:14But if you are ungrateful, you will find that my punishment is, of course, most severe.
02:22Moses said, If you turn ungrateful, you and everyone on this earth all together, remember
02:30that Allah stands in need of no thanks.
02:34Verily, Allah is self-sufficient, praiseworthy in his own right.
02:41Has not the important news come to you of your predecessors, the people of Noah, the tribes
02:47of Ad and Thamud, and those who came after them?
02:51None know them now but Allah.
02:54Their messengers of God came to them with clear proofs.
02:58But they put their hands again and again on their mouths, showing great resentment and
03:04out of rage, saying, We have already rejected that revelation you have been sent with, and
03:10in fact we are in disquieting doubt as to that faith you call us to.
03:16Their messengers of God said,
03:18Is there any doubt about Allah, the originator of the heavens and the earth?
03:24He calls you to himself that he may protect you against your sins and grant you respite
03:30till an appointed time to the end of your lives.
03:34They said, You are nothing but a human being like ourselves.
03:41You desire to stop us from worshipping that which our forefathers have been worshipping,
03:47so you better bring us some manifest authority.
03:51Their messengers of God said to them,
03:53It is true we are nothing but human beings like yourselves,
03:58but Allah shows his favors by sending revelations and prophethood
04:02to such of his servants as he will.
04:05It is not possible for us to bring you an authority
04:09except by the leave of Allah.
04:12We put our trust in him
04:14and in Allah alone
04:16should the believers put their trust.
04:19And why should we not put our trust in Allah
04:22while he has guided us in our ways?
04:26We will surely endure patiently all persecutions you have subjected us to.
04:32So in Allah alone
04:34let those put their trust who have learnt to put their trust in him.
04:39And those who disbelieved
04:41then said to their messengers of God,
04:44We will assuredly turn you out of our country.
04:48Or you will have to return to our creed.
04:52Then did their Lord send his revelation to them,
04:55saying,
04:56We will invariably destroy these wrongdoers.
05:01And we will surely make you occupy the country after them.
05:05That promise shall hold good for every one of him
05:09who fears to stand before my tribunal
05:11and fears my threatful warning.
05:16They sought a judgment
05:17but when it came
05:19every haughty person
05:21and enemy of truth
05:23met with no success
05:25and was utterly disappointed.
05:28Jehenna lies before him
05:30where he shall be made to drink
05:33boiling and repulsive water.
05:35He will try to sip it
05:37but will not be able to swallow it easily.
05:40And death shall come to him
05:42from every quarter
05:43yet he shall not die.
05:47Moreover,
05:48he shall see before him
05:50further harsh doom.
05:54The works of those
05:56who disbelieve in the messages
05:58and blessings of their Lord
05:59are like ashes
06:01on which the wind blows violently
06:03on a tempestuous day.
06:06They shall have no power
06:08to reap the fruit of their deeds.
06:10That is indeed
06:12an extremely ruinous error.
06:15Have you,
06:16O reader,
06:17not considered
06:18that Allah created
06:19the heavens
06:20and the earth
06:21to suit the requirements
06:22of truth and wisdom?
06:24If he so will,
06:26he can do away with you
06:28and bring forth
06:29a new creation.
06:31And that is not at all
06:33difficult for Allah.
06:36Beware of the day
06:37when people shall appear
06:39before Allah
06:40in a body
06:41so that the weak
06:43shall say to those
06:44who consider themselves great,
06:45We were your followers
06:47definitely.
06:48Can you not help
06:50to save us today
06:51in any manner
06:52against the punishment
06:53of Allah?
06:55They will reply,
06:57Had Allah guided us
06:59to a way of deliverance,
07:00we would surely
07:02have guided you.
07:03It makes no difference
07:05for us now
07:06whether we show
07:07impatience
07:08or remain patient.
07:09There is no way
07:11of escape for us
07:12this day.
07:14When the judgment
07:16of God
07:17has been passed
07:18and matter decided,
07:20Satan will say
07:21to these people,
07:22Verily Allah
07:23made you
07:24a true promise
07:25and I also
07:27made you a promise
07:28but I failed you.
07:29I had no authority
07:31over you.
07:32However,
07:33I called you
07:35and you obeyed me.
07:37Therefore,
07:37blame me not now
07:39but you should
07:39blame your own selves.
07:41I can render you
07:43no help
07:44nor can you
07:45render me
07:45any help
07:46inasmuch as
07:47you're associating
07:48me as partner
07:50with God.
07:51I have already
07:52declared that
07:53I have nothing
07:54to do with it
07:55as for the wrongdoers
07:57there awaits them
07:58a grievous
07:59punishment.
08:02But those who
08:03believe and do
08:04righteous deeds
08:05shall be made
08:06to enter
08:06gardens served
08:07with running streams
08:08to keep them
08:09green and flourishing.
08:11There they shall
08:12abide in forever
08:13by the leave
08:14of their Lord.
08:15Their greeting
08:16therein shall be
08:17peace.
08:20Have you,
08:21O reader,
08:21not considered
08:22how Allah
08:23compares a
08:24holy word
08:25to a good tree
08:26whose each root
08:28is firm
08:29and whose
08:30every branch
08:31spreads out
08:31to the very sky?
08:34This tree
08:35goes on
08:36bringing forth
08:36its fruit
08:37at all times
08:38by the leave
08:39of its Lord.
08:40And Allah
08:41gives excellent
08:42descriptions of
08:43things for the
08:44people so that
08:45they may take
08:46heed.
08:47And the likeness
08:49of an evil
08:49word is as
08:51an evil tree
08:52which can be
08:53uprooted from
08:54above the earth.
08:55It has no
08:56stability.
08:58Allah
08:58strengthens
08:59those who have
09:00believed with
09:01the true word
09:02firmly established
09:03both in the
09:04present life
09:05and in the
09:05hereafter.
09:07Allah
09:07perishes
09:08the wrongdoers
09:09and Allah
09:10does whatever
09:11he will.
09:14Have you not
09:15seen those
09:15who have done
09:16away with
09:17Allah's favor
09:17for their
09:18ingratitude?
09:19They have
09:20landed their
09:21people into
09:22the abode
09:22of ruin.
09:24In
09:24Jehenna
09:25they shall
09:26enter it.
09:27What a
09:28wretched place
09:28to settle in!
09:30And they
09:30set up
09:31compeers
09:32to Allah
09:32to lead
09:33people astray
09:34from his
09:35path.
09:35Say,
09:37Well,
09:37enjoy yourselves
09:39a while.
09:40You are
09:41heading towards
09:42the fire.
09:44Say to my
09:45servants who
09:46have believed
09:46to observe
09:48prayer
09:48and to spend
09:50secretly and
09:51openly
09:51out of that
09:52which we have
09:53provided for them
09:54before there
09:55comes a day
09:56of reckoning
09:56when neither
09:57bargaining
09:58nor fast
09:59friendship
09:59shall help
10:00them to get
10:01salvation.
10:03Allah is
10:03he who
10:04created the
10:05heavens and
10:06the earth
10:06and he
10:07causes water
10:08to come down
10:09from the
10:09clouds
10:11and he
10:12brings down
10:13fruit therewith
10:13to be your
10:15sustenance.
10:16He has
10:16made subservient
10:18to you
10:18the ships
10:19that they
10:21may sail
10:21through the
10:22sea by his
10:22leave and he
10:23has made
10:24subservient
10:24to you
10:25the rivers
10:26also.
10:28And he
10:29has made
10:30subservient
10:31to you
10:31the sun
10:32and the
10:33moon
10:33both moving
10:34constantly
10:35according to
10:36some fixed
10:36laws
10:37and he
10:38has made
10:38subservient
10:39to you
10:40the night
10:40and the
10:41day.
10:43He has
10:43given you
10:44of all
10:45that you
10:45wanted of
10:46him
10:46by your
10:47natural
10:47demand
10:48and if
10:49you try
10:49to count
10:50Allah's
10:50bounties
10:51you will
10:52not be
10:52able to
10:53number
10:53them.
10:54Surely
10:54a human
10:55being
10:55is very
10:56unjust
10:57very
10:58ungrateful.
11:00recall the
11:01time when
11:01Abraham
11:02said
11:03my
11:04lord
11:04make
11:05this
11:06would-be
11:07city
11:07of
11:07Mecca
11:08secure
11:09and a
11:10haven
11:10of peace
11:11and keep
11:12me and
11:13my children
11:14away from
11:15worshipping
11:15idols.
11:17My
11:17lord
11:18a large
11:19number of
11:20people
11:20has gone
11:21astray
11:21because of
11:22these idols
11:23to be
11:23sure.
11:24Then
11:25whoso
11:25follows
11:25me
11:26he is
11:27certainly
11:27of me.
11:28As for
11:29the person
11:30who
11:30disobeys
11:31me
11:31I
11:32can
11:32say
11:32only
11:33you
11:33are
11:34indeed
11:34great
11:35protector
11:35against
11:36false
11:36ever
11:37merciful.
11:39Our
11:40lord
11:40I
11:41have
11:41settled
11:42some
11:42of my
11:43children
11:43in an
11:44uncultivatable
11:45valley of
11:46Mecca
11:46in the
11:47vicinity
11:48of your
11:48holy
11:49house.
11:50Our
11:50lord
11:51I
11:52have
11:52done
11:52so
11:53so
11:53that
11:53they
11:54may
11:54observe
11:54prayer
11:55then
11:56make
11:56the
11:57hearts
11:57of
11:57the
11:57people
11:58inclined
11:58towards
11:59them
11:59and
12:00provide
12:00them
12:01with
12:01fruit
12:01so
12:01that
12:02they
12:02may
12:02always
12:03give
12:03thanks.
12:05Our
12:05lord
12:05you
12:06know
12:07all
12:07that
12:07we
12:08keep
12:08secret
12:08and
12:09all
12:09that
12:10we
12:10make
12:10known.
12:11There
12:11is
12:12nothing
12:12either
12:13in
12:13the
12:13earth
12:13or
12:14in
12:14the
12:14heaven
12:15that
12:15may
12:15be
12:16hidden
12:16from
12:16Allah.
12:18All
12:19true
12:19and
12:19perfect
12:19praise
12:20belongs
12:20to
12:21Allah
12:21who
12:22has
12:22given
12:22me
12:23despite
12:23my
12:24old
12:24age
12:26Ismael
12:27and
12:27Isaac
12:27my
12:29lord
12:29is
12:29of
12:30course
12:30the
12:30hearer
12:31of
12:31prayers
12:32my
12:33lord
12:33make
12:34me
12:34a
12:35constant
12:35and
12:35steadfast
12:36observer
12:37of
12:37prayer
12:38and
12:38my
12:38children
12:39as
12:39well
12:39our
12:41lord
12:41bestow
12:42your
12:42grace
12:43on us
12:43and
12:43accept
12:44my
12:44prayer
12:45our
12:46lord
12:47protect
12:47me
12:48my
12:48parents
12:49and
12:49the
12:49believers
12:50against
12:50faults
12:51on
12:51the
12:51day
12:51when
12:52the
12:52reckoning
12:52takes
12:53place
12:55and
12:55oh
12:56reader
12:56do
12:57not
12:57think
12:57that
12:58Allah
12:58is
12:58unaware
12:59of
12:59all
13:00that
13:00these
13:00wrongdoers
13:01do
13:01he
13:02only
13:02defers
13:03their
13:03punishment
13:04to
13:04the
13:04day
13:04when
13:05the
13:05eyes
13:05of
13:05the
13:05people
13:06will
13:06fixedly
13:07stare
13:07in
13:08horror
13:09they
13:10they
13:10be
13:10running
13:10in
13:11panic
13:11with
13:12their
13:12necks
13:12outstretched
13:13and
13:14their
13:14heads
13:14erect
13:15they
13:16will
13:16not
13:16be
13:17able
13:17to
13:17wink
13:17their
13:18eyes
13:18and
13:19their
13:19hearts
13:20utterly
13:20void
13:21of
13:21courage
13:21and
13:21hope
13:23warn
13:23these
13:24people
13:24of
13:24the
13:24day
13:24when
13:25the
13:25threatened
13:25punishment
13:26overtakes
13:27them
13:27and
13:28those
13:28who
13:28are
13:28unjust
13:29will
13:29say
13:30our
13:31lord
13:31grant
13:32us
13:32respite
13:33for a
13:33short
13:34term
13:34we
13:35will
13:36respond
13:36to
13:37your
13:37call
13:37and
13:37follow
13:38the
13:38messengers
13:39it
13:40will
13:40be
13:40said
13:41to
13:41them
13:41did
13:42you
13:42not
13:43swear
13:43before
13:43now
13:44that
13:44you
13:44would
13:44never
13:45have
13:45a
13:46fall
13:47you
13:48said
13:48this
13:49though
13:49you
13:50occupied
13:50the
13:51dwelling
13:51places
13:52of
13:52those
13:52who
13:53had
13:53wronged
13:53themselves
13:54and
13:55it
13:55had
13:55been
13:55clear
13:55to
13:56you
13:56how
13:57we
13:57had
13:57dealt
13:58with
13:58them
13:58the
13:59unjust
13:59we
14:00have
14:01set
14:01forth
14:01all
14:02these
14:02descriptions
14:03for
14:03you
14:03clearly
14:05they
14:05have
14:06already
14:06hatched
14:07their
14:07plots
14:08but
14:09even
14:10though
14:10they
14:10have
14:10plots
14:11that
14:11can
14:12move
14:12mountain
14:13Allah
14:14has
14:14power
14:15over
14:15rendering
14:16their
14:16plots
14:17ineffective
14:19so
14:20oh
14:20reader
14:20do
14:22not
14:22think
14:22that
14:23Allah
14:23is
14:23going
14:23to
14:24break
14:24his
14:24promise
14:25he
14:25made
14:25to
14:25his
14:26messengers
14:26Allah
14:27is
14:28almighty
14:28lord
14:29of
14:29retribution
14:32beware
14:32of
14:33the
14:33day
14:33when
14:33this
14:34earth
14:34will
14:34be
14:35changed
14:35into
14:36another
14:36earth
14:37and
14:37the
14:38heavens
14:38as
14:39well
14:39shall
14:39be
14:39superseded
14:40by other
14:41heaven
14:41and
14:43they
14:43all
14:44people
14:45shall
14:45appear
14:46before
14:46Allah
14:47the
14:47one
14:48the
14:49most
14:49supreme
14:50and
14:51on
14:52that
14:52day
14:52you
14:52shall
14:53see
14:53these
14:54guilty
14:54bound
14:55together
14:55in
14:55chains
14:56pitch
14:57will
14:58form
14:58their
14:58raiments
14:59and
15:00the
15:00fire
15:00shall
15:01envelop
15:01their
15:01faces
15:03this
15:04will
15:04be
15:04so
15:04that
15:05Allah
15:05may
15:05reward
15:06every
15:07soul
15:07according
15:08to
15:08his
15:08deeds
15:10verily
15:11Allah
15:12is
15:12swift
15:13at
15:13reckoning
15:15this
15:16Quran
15:16is
15:17a
15:17message
15:18to
15:18and
15:19sufficient
15:20to
15:20meet
15:21all
15:21the
15:21acquirements
15:22of
15:23all
15:24humankind
15:25it
15:26has
15:26other
15:27aims
15:27to
15:27serve
15:28and
15:29that
15:29they
15:29may
15:29be
15:30warned
15:30thereby
15:30and
15:32that
15:32they
15:32may
15:32know
15:33that
15:34he
15:34is
15:34the
15:34only
15:35one
15:35god
15:36and
15:37that
15:37those
15:37possessed
15:38of
15:38pure
15:39knowledge
15:39may
15:39take
15:40heed
15:40to
15:42do
