Surah Al-Anโ€™am (The Cattle) highlights the signs of Allah in creation, reminding us to reflect on the heavens, the earth, and the blessings around us. It addresses the message of many prophets and calls humanity to pure worship of Allah alone. 00:01al-anam the cattle with the name of allah the most gracious the ever merciful all type of perfect and
00:11true praise belongs to allah who created the heavens and the earth and brought into being all kinds of darkness
00:18and the light
00:19yet in spite of this those who disbelieve ascribe equals to their Lord it is he who created you from
00:27clay then he determined a term of this life and there is yet another term of the life of the
00:35hereafter stated with him still you dispute being doubtful about the resurrection
00:43and he is allah who alone exercises every authority in the heavens and in the earth he knows you inside
00:52and outside and he knows what you accomplish by way of your deeds good or bad
00:59and as for the people there comes to them no message of the messages of their Lord but they turn
01:05away from it so they have already cried lies to this perfect truth
01:11when it came to them but soon there shall come to them the news of the fulfillment of the prophecies
01:18that they have been taking very lightly
01:22have these people not considered how many generations we destroyed before them to whom we had given so firmly hold
01:30and power on the earth such a firm hold as we have not given you and we sent clouds over
01:37them
01:37pouring down abundant rain and we caused rivers to flow subject to their command and control
01:45yet we destroyed them owing to their sins and raised other generations after them
01:52and if we had sent down to you a book written on parchment and they had touched it with their
01:59own hands
01:59even then those who have disbelieved would have invariably said this is nothing but a fascinating device to cut off
02:08from the people
02:10and they said if the prophet is true and sincere in his claim why has not an angel been sent
02:17down to him
02:19but if we had sent down an angel the matter would have been decided then they would not have been
02:25respited
02:26and had we appointed him from among the angels we would surely have made him appear as a man
02:33and even in that case we would have obscured that which they are themselves obscuring now
02:41o muhammad certainly messengers have been treated scornfully before you
02:46but that prophecy of the ultimate success of the messenger which they held in scorn recoiled on them who had
02:53held the prophecy in scorn
02:57say go about in the land and see how evil was the end of those who treated the prophets as
03:02liars
03:03ask them to whom belongs all that lies in the heavens and in the earth
03:09then since they will not be able to answer say it belongs to Allah
03:14he has taken upon himself the rule of mercy
03:17so he does not take the sinners to task immediately
03:21he will continue to assemble you together till the day of resurrection
03:26there is no doubt in it
03:29yet those who have lost their souls will not believe
03:34to him belongs whatever exists in the darkness of the night
03:37and whatever dwells in the light of the day
03:40and he is the all-hearing the all-knowing
03:45say
03:46shall i take to myself a patron other than Allah
03:49the originator of the heavens and the earth
03:52it is he who feeds but is fed by none
03:56say
03:58i have surely been commanded
04:00that i be the first of those who submit to God
04:04it has been said to them
04:05be not of those who associate partners with Allah
04:09say
04:11if i disobey my lord
04:13i fear the punishment of the dreadful day
04:17he from whomsoever this punishment is averted on that day
04:21God indeed has mercy on him
04:23an obvious achievement is that
04:27if Allah afflicts you with some harm
04:29then no one can remove it but he
04:32but if he bestows upon you a favor
04:35remember that he is the possessor of every power to do all that he will
04:41and he is the all-dominant
04:43over his servants
04:45and he is the all-wise
04:47the all-aware
04:50ask
04:51who is the best witness in respect of bearing testimony
04:54say
04:55it is Allah
04:58he is witness between me and you
05:00and this Quran has been revealed to me
05:03so that i may thereby warn you
05:05and all those whom it may reach
05:06against the evil consequences of disbelief and misdeeds
05:11what do you say
05:12do you in fact bear witness
05:14that there are other gods besides Allah
05:16say
05:18i do not bear witness thereto
05:21say
05:21moreover
05:22the fact is that he is the one and only God
05:25and surely i am sick and quit of those whom you associate with him
05:31those whom we have given this perfect book recognize him as they recognize their own sons
05:37yet
05:38those who have lost their souls will not believe
05:43who is more unjust than he who forges a lie in the name of Allah
05:48or who cries lies to his messages
05:50verily such wrongdoers will never attain the goal
05:55beware of the day
05:57when we shall gather them all together
05:59then we shall say to those who associate partners with us
06:03where are now your associate gods
06:06about whom you used to assert as gods
06:10on that day
06:12they would have no excuse
06:14but that they would say
06:16by Allah our Lord we were never polytheists
06:20look how they lie against themselves
06:23and those associate gods which they used to forge
06:26shall fail them
06:28some of these disbelievers pretend to listen to you
06:31but we have put veils over their hearts
06:34due to their own hard heartedness
06:36that they do not understand
06:38and there is heaviness in their ears to listen to the truth
06:42even if they see every sign of ours
06:45they would not believe therein
06:47their hard heartedness has reached such an extent
06:50that when they come to you
06:52they dispute with you
06:54those who disbelieve say
06:56this Qur'an is nothing but fables of the ancients
07:00they deter others from believing in this Qur'an
07:03and themselves too
07:05keep away from it
07:06yet it is their own ruin
07:08that they bring about by such things
07:10only they do not perceive
07:13could you but see them
07:15when they are made to stand before the fire
07:19they will say then
07:21oh would that we could be sent back
07:23to have a chance to mend our ways
07:25then we would not cry lies
07:28to the revelations of our Lord
07:29and would be of the believers
07:32nay
07:33it is only that this
07:35which they had been hiding before
07:37must have now become obvious to them
07:40yet even though
07:41if they were sent back
07:43they would again return to that
07:45which they were prohibited from
07:46they are most certainly liars
07:51and they say
07:52there is no life beyond this our present life
07:56and we shall never be raised again
07:59and could you but see when they are made to stand
08:02before their Lord
08:03he will say
08:04is not this resurrection true
08:07they shall say
08:08yes indeed by our Lord it is
08:12he will say
08:13suffer then the punishment as a result of your disbelief
08:18those who cried lies to the news of meeting Allah
08:21have indeed suffered a loss
08:25until the hour of resurrection overtakes them unaware
08:29they will then say
08:31woe to us for our neglecting it
08:33and they shall be bearing the burdens of their sins on their backs
08:37behold
08:39how evil is the burden that they shall bear
08:43the life of this world is naught
08:46but a futile and frivolous thing
08:48causing diversion from God
08:50and certainly
08:51the last abode is the best for those who guard against evil
08:56have you no sense
08:59we know full well that what they say
09:02by way of denying our messages
09:04grieves you
09:06yet surely it is not you that they cry lies to
09:09but it is the messages of Allah that these wrongdoers are deliberately rejecting
09:15indeed
09:16messengers have already been cried lies to even before you
09:21but they patiently persevered
09:24in spite of their having been rejected and persecuted
09:27till our help came to them
09:29none can alter the decrees of Allah
09:32there has already come to you
09:35some of the news of the messengers gone before
09:39if their turning away in aversion is hard on you to bear
09:43then you may if you can
09:45seek a tunnel into the earth
09:47or a ladder into the heaven
09:49and then bring them some sign to bring all to guidance
09:54but if Allah had
09:55willed he could
09:57surely have brought them all together
09:59by force to the guidance
10:01so do not be of those who lack
10:03knowledge
10:06only those who listen respond
10:08to the truth and as for the
10:09spiritually dead Allah
10:11will raise them to life after
10:13their being buried in graves
10:15they shall then be made to return
10:17to him
10:19and they say
10:20why has not a sign
10:22been revealed to him by his Lord
10:25say
10:26surely Allah has power
10:28and is a praiser as to how and when
10:31to send down a sign
10:33but most of them know it not
10:36there is no terrestrial creature that crawls in the earth
10:39nor a bird that flies in the air with its two wings
10:43but they are creatures like you
10:45all subject to the divine laws
10:48we have
10:49neglected nothing in our
10:51this perfect book of law
10:53then to their Lord shall they all be gathered
10:57and those who cry lies to our signs are deaf and dumb
11:01groping in utter darkness
11:04Allah allows to perish
11:06whom he will
11:07and whom he will he sets
11:09on the right and exact path
11:12say
11:13do you ever consider
11:15if the punishment of Allah comes upon you
11:17or the promised hour overtakes you
11:20will you then call upon any God other than Allah
11:24if what you say be true
11:26nay
11:27but you will call upon him alone
11:29then he will if he please
11:31relieve you of that distress
11:33for the removal of which you called upon him
11:36and you will abandon those false gods
11:38which you associate with him
11:42we have already sent messengers towards the communities before you
11:46then on their rejecting the messengers we afflicted them with destitution calamities
11:52and adversities so that they might become humble before us
11:57why did they not then when our punishment overtook them grow humble
12:02it was for the fact that their hearts had hardened
12:05and Satan had made their deeds seem fair to them
12:10then when they abandoned that whereof they had been reminded
12:14we opened to them the gates of everything
12:18until when they began to boast over what they were given
12:21we seized them unawares
12:24then behold
12:25they were in sore despair
12:27of all good
12:29in this way
12:31the last remnants of these people who had acted wrongfully
12:34were completely rooted out
12:35so it proved that all perfect and true praise belongs to Allah
12:40the Lord of all the worlds
12:43say
12:43have you ever considered
12:46if Allah were to take away your hearing and your sight
12:49and set a seal upon your hearts
12:51what God other than Allah
12:53can restore these boons to you
12:56see how we expound multiple arguments in diverse ways
13:00yet they turn away thereafter
13:04say
13:04did you ever consider
13:07if Allah's punishment were to overtake you unaware
13:10or after manifest warnings
13:13would any be destroyed
13:15except the wrongdoing people
13:16and we send not the messengers but as bearers of good tidings
13:22and as warners
13:24then whosoever believes
13:26and mends his ways
13:28will have no cause of fear
13:30nor shall they grieve
13:32but those who cry lies to our messages
13:35shall be punished because of their disobedience
13:38say
13:39I do not say to you that with me are the treasures of Allah
13:43nor do I know the unseen
13:45and I do not say to you that I am an angel
13:48I indeed follow only what is revealed to me
13:52say
13:53can a blind person
13:55and one gifted with sight be alike
13:58will you not even then give thought
14:03so warn by means of this Quran
14:05those who fear
14:06that they shall be gathered to their Lord
14:09besides whom they have neither a protector nor an intercessor
14:12so warn them that they may guard against evil
14:15and do not drive away those who call upon their Lord
14:20morning and evening seeking his pleasure
14:22no responsibility lies on you on their account
14:26and no responsibility whatsoever lies on them on your account
14:30that you should drive them away
14:32in case you do it
14:34you would be counted as the unjust
14:37in this way have we made a distinction in some of them from the other
14:41with the result that they say
14:43are these the ones whom Allah has favored by choosing them from among us
14:48does not Allah know best the grateful
14:52when those who believe in our messages come to you
14:55say peace be upon you
14:57your Lord has taken upon himself the rule of mercy
15:01so that whoso from among you commits evil through lack of knowledge
15:05then turns for mercy towards his Lord thereafter
15:08and mends his ways
15:11then his Lord forgives him
15:13because he is great protector
15:15ever merciful
15:17that is how we expound our arguments
15:20that you may seek Allah's mercy
15:21and that the ways of those who cut their ties with God may be exposed
15:27say I am strictly forbidden to worship those false gods whom you call upon besides Allah
15:34say I do not follow your caprices
15:37in that case I would have certainly become lost
15:41and I would not have been of the guided ones
15:46say surely I take my stand upon clear guidance from my Lord
15:50while you have cried lies to it
15:52I have no power over that punishment
15:55which you seek to hasten before its fixed time
15:58the judgment rest with none but Allah
16:01he declares the true judgment
16:03and he is the best of deciders as to whom
16:06when and how to punish
16:09say
16:10if I had power over that which you seek to hasten before its appointed time
16:15the matter would have been decided between you and me
16:18and Allah knows best the unjust
16:21and he also knows when to punish them
16:24all the treasures of the unseen lie at his disposal
16:28no one knows them but he
16:31he knows whatsoever is in the land and in the sea
16:35there falls not a single leaf but he knows it
16:38nor is there a grain in the dark beds of the earth
16:41nor anything fresh or dry
16:43but all is recorded in a clear book
16:47it is he who takes your soul by night
16:50and he knows what you have done by day
16:52yet he raises you up therein
16:55that the term stated for your life may be completed
16:59then to him is your return
17:01then he will inform you plainly about your deeds
17:06and he is the all-dominant over his servants
17:09and he goes on sending guardians to watch over you
17:12when death comes to one of you
17:15our messengers the angels take away his soul
17:18they neglect their duty in no way
17:22then they shall all be made to return to Allah
17:25their master and only true one
17:28surely his is the judgment
17:30he is the swiftest of the reckoners
17:34say who delivers you from the horrors of the land and the sea
17:38when you call upon him in humility
17:40and in open supplication saying
17:43if he delivers us from this hardship
17:45we shall ever be grateful to him
17:49say it is Allah who delivers you from these horrors
17:52and from every calamity
17:54still you associate partners with him
17:59say
17:59he has power to send upon you a calamity from above
18:03and from beneath your feet
18:05or he may throw you into confusion
18:07by making you confront with conflicting parties
18:10and make you taste the dissension and violence of one another
18:14behold
18:15how we explain our messages in different ways
18:18so that they may give thought
18:21your people have cried lies to this Quran
18:24though it is the truth
18:25say
18:26I am not responsible for your affairs
18:30for the fulfillment of every prophecy
18:33there is an appointed time
18:34and it will not go beyond that
18:37and soon you will come to know its truth
18:41and when you see those who engage in vain discourse about our messages
18:45turn away from them until they engage in a topic other than that
18:49and if Satan should make you forget this advice
18:52then sit no more after its recollection with such wrongdoers
18:57those who guard against evil are not in the least accountable for these evil doers
19:02they are only to admonish them
19:05so that they may too be guarded against evil
19:09and leave alone those who take their religion as a futile and frivolous thing
19:13causing diversion from Allah
19:16present life has beguiled them
19:18therefore go on admonishing such people by means of this Quran
19:22lest a soul should be consigned to perdition because of its misdeeds
19:27there is no patron for it apart from Allah
19:31nor intercessor
19:32and even if it may offer every compensation
19:35it will not be accepted from it
19:37it is these who are destroyed for what they accomplished
19:40there awaits them a drink of boiling water
19:44and a grievous punishment because they disbelieved
19:48say
19:49shall we call besides Allah upon that which can neither profit us nor harm us by itself
19:55and shall we be turned back on our heels and led astray
19:59after Allah has guided us
20:02like one whom the evil ones have made to follow his caprices
20:06leaving him utterly bewildered in the land
20:09whilst he has companions who call him to the guidance of Allah saying
20:14come to us
20:16say verily Allah's guidance is the only perfect guidance
20:19and we are commanded by him to submit to the Lord of all the worlds
20:25and we are also commanded by him
20:27observe prayer and take him as a shield
20:32and it is he to whom you shall all be gathered
20:36it is he who has created the heavens and the earth
20:39to suit the requirements of truth and wisdom
20:41the day he says be
20:44it shall come to be
20:46his word is bound to be carried out
20:50to him belongs the sovereignty on the day when the trumpet shall be blown
20:56he is the knower of all the hidden realities and the scene
21:00and he is the all wise
21:03all aware
21:06recall the time when Abraham said to his sire Azar
21:09do you worship idols as gods
21:13surely I see you and your people steeped in clear error
21:19thus for his pure and noble nature
21:22we have been showing Abraham the sole kingdom of ours
21:25of the heavens and the earth
21:27to grant him an insight into the divine laws of nature
21:30and we did it that he might be of those who are firmly convinced
21:36then after being convinced of our unity once on the occasion of a debate on the topic
21:42when the night darkened over him
21:44he saw a planet
21:47he said on seeing it to the idol worshippers
21:50is this my Lord as you assert
21:53but when it set he said
21:55I do not love the setting ones to accept as my God
22:01then when he saw the moon rise
22:03with spreading light
22:04he said to the people
22:06is this my Lord as you assert
22:10but when it set he said
22:12had my Lord not guided me aright
22:14I would have invariably
22:17been of the people who have gone astray
22:21and when he saw the sun rise
22:23with spreading light
22:24he said to them
22:25is this my Lord as you assert
22:28as this is the biggest
22:30but when it also set he said
22:33O my people
22:34I am surely sick of that which you associate with him
22:39surely I have turned myself with devotion
22:42and in a most upright manner
22:44to him who originated the heavens and the earth
22:47I have never been of the polytheist
22:51his people tried to overpower him in argument
22:54he said
22:55do you argue with me regarding Allah
22:58when he himself has already guided me aright
23:01and I fear not in any way
23:04the things you worship besides him
23:06unless it is my Lord who wills some harm to me
23:10it is a different thing
23:12my Lord comprehends all things in his knowledge
23:15will you not even then take admonition
23:19how and why should I fear the things
23:21that you associate with him
23:22while you are not afraid
23:24that you have associated those things with Allah
23:27for the worship of which he has given you no authority
23:31which of the two parties then
23:33of the monotheist and the polytheist
23:35is better entitled to security and salvation
23:38if you truly know
23:40it is only those who believe
23:42and have not polluted their faith
23:44with associating partners with Allah
23:46to whom belongs peace and salvation
23:49it is these alone who are rightly guided
23:53that was our argument with which we equipped Abraham
23:57against his people
23:59we raise in degrees of rank whom we will
24:02verily your Lord is all wise
24:05all knowing
24:07and we granted him Isaac and Jacob
24:11each one we guided aright
24:13and Noah did we guide before
24:16and of his descendants
24:18we guided David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses and Aaron
24:25in this way do we reward the performers of good to others
24:31and we guided Zachariah, John, Jesus and Elias
24:37every one of them was of the righteous
24:40and we also guided Ismael and Elisha
24:44and Jonah and Lot
24:46and every one did we exalt above their people
24:51and we exalted men from among their fathers
24:54and their descendants and their brethren
24:56we chose them
24:58and we guided them along the exact right path
25:03that is the guidance of Allah
25:05he guides by it such of his servants as he will
25:09but if they had associated partners
25:13surely all their deeds would have gone in vain
25:17it is these messengers to whom we gave the scripture
25:20the decisive authority and the prophethood
25:24but if these, the so called preservers of the book
25:27reject these blissful things
25:30the book, the authority and the prophecy
25:33it matters little
25:34for we have now entrusted them to a people
25:37who are not at all ungrateful for these blessings
25:41it is these whom Allah has guided
25:45so follow their guidance
25:47say, I ask you no reward for bringing this guidance
25:51this is not but a reminder for all the worlds
25:56they, the deniers, have not appreciated Allah
25:59with the true honor due to him when they said
26:03Allah has not revealed anything to any human being
26:06say, who had revealed the scripture which Moses brought
26:11a light and guidance for the people
26:13though you render it as scraps of paper
26:16some of which you show while the major portion you hide
26:20whereas you have been taught through that which you did not know
26:24neither you nor your forefathers
26:27say, Allah revealed it
26:31then leave them amusing themselves in their vain discourse
26:35and similar to the Torah is this splendid book
26:39which we have revealed
26:40full of blessings
26:42completing in a comprehensive form
26:44all the divine messages which were sent before it
26:47and is revealed
26:48that you may warn the people of this center of cities
26:51the Meccans
26:52and the people of the places all around it
26:55the people of the whole world
26:58and those who believe in the hereafter
27:00believe also in this Qur'an
27:02and they are most careful about performing their prayer
27:06who is more unjust than the person who fabricates a lie
27:11in the name of Allah
27:12deliberately or says
27:14a revelation has been sent to me
27:17while nothing has been revealed to him
27:20and the person who says
27:22I will also bring down the like of what Allah has sent down
27:28could you but see the wrongdoers
27:30when they are in the agonies of death
27:32and when the angels would lay down their hands on them
27:36saying give up your souls
27:39this day you shall be given a disgraceful punishment
27:42on account of that falsehood
27:44which you uttered regarding Allah wrongfully
27:47and because you disdained his revelations
27:51God will say on that day
27:53how is it that you have come to us all alone
27:56as we created you in the first instance
27:58and you have left that which we put in your charge
28:01in the world behind yourselves
28:03and we do not see with you your intercessors
28:05whom you falsely asserted
28:07that they were our partisans
28:09in the disposal of matters relating to you
28:13indeed the ties between you and your false deities
28:16are now cut off
28:18and the things you falsely asserted to be gods
28:21have failed you
28:25verily it is Allah who splits the seed grains
28:28and fruit stones
28:30he brings forth the living out of the lifeless
28:33and he brings forth the lifeless out of the living
28:37such is Allah
28:39wherefore then are you turned back
28:43he is the cleaver of the daybreak
28:46and he has made the night for rest
28:48and the sun and the moon for reckoning of time
28:52that is the decree of the almighty
28:55the all-knowing
28:58it is he who has made the stars for you
29:00that you may follow the right course with their help in the darkness of the land and the sea
29:07we have certainly explained our commandments in detail for a people who would know
29:12it is he who has evolved you from one living entity
29:16then he provided for you a permanent abode
29:19from the grave to the final abode of bliss
29:23and a temporary lodging from the loins of the father to the grave
29:29verily we have explained our signs in detail for a people who would understand
29:35it is we who pour down water from the clouds
29:38and then we bring forth every kind of vegetation
29:42then we bring forth therefrom green foliage
29:46from which we produce clustered grain
29:49and we bring forth from the date palm
29:52out of its spades bunches of dates hanging low
29:56and we bring forth gardens of vines and olives and pomegranate
30:02similar in kind yet dissimilar from one another in variety
30:07look at them when they bear fruit
30:09and look also how they ripen
30:12verily in all this there are signs for a people who would believe
30:18yet they ascribe to allah as his associates the jinns
30:23although he has created them also
30:27and they falsely ascribe to him sons and daughters without any knowledge
30:32glory be to him
30:34and he is far beyond and above all the things that they attribute to him
30:40he is wonderful and primary originator of the heavens and the earth
30:45how and whence can there be a son for him
30:49when he has no consort
30:52he has created all things
30:55and he has perfect knowledge of everything
30:58such is Allah your Lord
31:01there is no other
31:03cannot be and will never be one worthy of worship but he
31:07the creator of all things
31:10therefore worship him
31:12for he is the disposer of all affairs
31:17the physical vision comprehends him not
31:20but he comprehends all visions
31:23he is the all subtle being incomprehensible and imperceptible
31:28the all aware
31:30say
31:32there has already come to you enlightenment
31:35and clear proofs from your Lord
31:38then whosoever sees clearly and is enlightened
31:41it is for his own good
31:43and whosoever chooses to remain blind
31:47it is to his own loss
31:49I am not a guardian over you
31:53thus do we explain our revelations in diverse ways
31:57that they the disbelievers will say to the prophet
32:01you have learnt well
32:03and diligently from previous scripture
32:06but we vary the revelations that it may be a clear explanation from us to the people who have knowledge
32:14follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord
32:17there is no other
32:19cannot be and will never be one worthy of worship but he
32:23and turn away from the polytheist
32:27if Allah had enforced his will
32:29they would not have associated partners with him
32:33and we have not made you a guardian over them
32:36nor are you a disposer of their affairs
32:40do not revile those whom they call upon besides Allah
32:44lest they should revile Allah transgressingly and through lack of knowledge
32:50just as we made their deeds fair seeming to them
32:53so have we made to each people fair seeming what they do
32:58then to their Lord is their return
33:00so he will inform them as to what they have been doing
33:04and they swear by Allah
33:06their most solemn oaths
33:09that if there comes to them a particular sign
33:11they would invariably believe in it
33:15say
33:16not to speak of a single sign
33:19there are indeed many signs with Allah
33:21but what is there to assure you
33:24that when that sign comes
33:26even then
33:27they will not believe
33:29we shall confound their hearts and their eyes
33:33since they did not believe in it
33:34in the first instance
33:36and we shall leave them alone
33:38wandering blindly in their transgression
33:43even if we should send down the angels to them
33:46and the dead shall speak to them
33:48and even if we should bring all things together face to face to them
33:52they would not believe unless Allah had enforced his will
33:56the thing is that most of them persist in ignorance
34:01and in the same manner have we made the evil ones from among ordinary human beings and the jinns
34:07enemies to every prophet
34:10some of them suggest one to another
34:13gilded speech to beguile them
34:15had your lord enforced his will
34:17they would not have done so
34:20so leave them alone with what they forge
34:24and the result of their so doing
34:26is that the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter
34:30are inclined to it
34:32and they take pleasure therein
34:34and they continue committing their evil deeds as they are doing
34:39say
34:40what
34:40shall I seek for a judge to decide between us
34:44other than Allah
34:45when it is he who has revealed to you this perfect book clearly explained
34:51and those to whom we have given this book
34:54know that it is revealed by your lord with all the requirements of truth and wisdom
34:58so be not of the disputers
35:02the prophetic word of your lord is bound to be fulfilled in truth and justice
35:08there is no one who can change his words
35:11he is the all-hearing the all-knowing
35:15should you obey the majority of those on earth
35:19they would lead you astray from allah's way
35:21they follow nothing but mere surmise
35:25and they do nothing but make conjectures
35:29surely he your lord knows the best who goes astray from his way
35:34as he knows the best the rightly guided
35:38so do not follow those who go astray
35:41and eat of that over which the name of Allah has been pronounced
35:45if you are indeed believers in his messages
35:49what reason have you that you do not eat of that over which Allah's name has been pronounced
35:55whilst he has already explained to you the things he has forbidden to you
36:00accepting that which you are constrained to eat out of necessity
36:04and surely
36:05many mislead others by following their own fancies due to lack of knowledge
36:11verily your lord knows best these transgressors
36:15refrain from sin in form and in spirit
36:19verily those who commit sins deliberately
36:22shall be repaid according to the deeds committed by them
36:26and do not eat of that on which Allah's name has not been pronounced
36:31for it is the sure product of disobedience
36:35certainly the evil ones suggest their friends to dispute with you
36:39and if you obey them
36:40you shall invariably become polytheists
36:45can he who was lifeless before
36:47and to whom we gave life
36:49and we provided for him a light
36:51whereby he moves about among the people
36:54be like the person whose condition
36:56is as one consigned to thick darkness
36:59from whence he cannot emerge
37:02thus the deeds of the disbelievers are made fair seeming to them
37:08similarly
37:08have we made the leaders in every town the guilty ones
37:12with the result that they intrigue therein
37:16but little do they understand that
37:19as a matter of fact
37:20they intrigue only against themselves
37:24and when there comes to them a divine message they say
37:28we will never believe
37:30unless we ourselves are given the like of what has been given to the messengers of Allah
37:36Allah knows best whom to entrust his messengership
37:40surely humiliation and severe and disgraceful punishment from Allah shall befall those who cut off their ties with him
37:48because of their intrigues against our prophets
37:53but as to whom Allah intends to guide
37:55he opens his bosom to Islam
37:58and as to him who he allows to go astray
38:01he makes his bosom close and constricted
38:04so that he feels as though he were climbing up to the heights
38:08just as Allah does this
38:10he lays ignominy on those who do not believe
38:14and this path is an exact right path leading to your Lord
38:19we have indeed explained the messages of truth in detail for a people who would accept admonition
38:27there awaits with their Lord
38:29an abode of peace
38:31and he is their patron because of their righteous deeds
38:36beware of the day
38:38when he will gather them all together and say
38:41O multitude of jinn
38:43you made a great many of the ordinary people subservient to yourselves in disobedience
38:50and their votaries from the people will say
38:52our Lord some of us benefited one from another
38:56but at last we have reached the end of the appointed term which you determined for us
39:01he will then say
39:03the fire is your lodging
39:06therein to abide unless Allah wills otherwise
39:10verily your Lord is all wise
39:13all knowing
39:15in the like manner do we let some of the unjust have power
39:19one over another because of their wrongful deeds
39:24O multitude of jinn and ordinary peoples
39:28did there come to you no messengers from among yourselves
39:32who related to you my messages and warned you that you would face this your day
39:38they will say
39:40yes
39:40we bear witness against ourselves
39:44and the present life has beguiled them
39:46and they will bear witness against themselves on that day that they were disbelievers
39:52this is because
39:54your Lord destroys no township unjustly
39:57whilst their inhabitants are unwarned
40:01and for all are fixed different degrees of rank in accordance with their deeds
40:06your Lord is not at all unaware of what they do
40:11your Lord is self-sufficient
40:13Lord of mercy
40:15if he will
40:16he may do away with you
40:18O disbelievers
40:19and replace you with such others as he will
40:23just as he evolved you from the seeds of other people
40:27verily that punishment which you are promised
40:30must come to pass
40:32and you cannot frustrate his plans
40:35say
40:37O my people
40:38go on working according to the utmost of your capacities and positions
40:44surely I am doing my best
40:47soon you shall come to know for whom is the best reward of this abode
40:52anyhow the wrongdoers never attain their goal
40:56they allocate to Allah a portion out of what he has produced of the tillage and the cattle
41:02and they say this is for Allah
41:05according to their fancies
41:07and this is set apart for our gods
41:11then what is for their associate gods
41:13never goes over to Allah
41:15but what is set apart for Allah
41:18does often go over to their associate gods
41:21how ill they judge
41:24just as their associate gods turned the polytheists away from Allah
41:28so did they make even so monstrous a deed as the killing of their children seem fair
41:33to a large number of the polytheists
41:36with the result that they ruin them
41:38and that they obscure for them their religion
41:42and if Allah had enforced his will
41:44they would not have done so
41:46so leave them alone
41:48and that what they forge
41:51and they say according to their fancies
41:54such and such cattle and tillage are secure
41:57none shall eat them except whom we please
42:01so they assert
42:02there are some cattle whose backs have been forbidden for use
42:06and some cattle over which they would not pronounce the name of Allah
42:10they do all this forging a lie against him
42:14that such practices are by his will
42:17soon he will surely punish them for the lies they have forged
42:22they further say
42:23that the young one which is living in the womb of such and such cattle
42:28is exclusively reserved for our males and is forbidden to our spouses
42:33but if it be stillborn
42:35then they are all partakers of it
42:38he will surely repay them with punishment for their false specification
42:42surely he is all-wise
42:45all-knowing
42:48certainly they suffer a loss
42:50those who kill their children in folly and in ignorance
42:53and forbid themselves what Allah has provided for them
42:57forging lies in the name of Allah
42:59they have indeed gone astray and they are not rightly guided
43:06and he it is who evolved gardens
43:09trellised and untrellised
43:11and the date palms
43:13and the corn fields
43:15whose produce and fruits are of diverse kinds and tastes
43:19and oil producing plants
43:21and pomegranates
43:23similar in kind
43:24yet dissimilar in variety
43:27eat of the fruit of each when it yields fruit
43:30and render thereof his due in charity
43:33on the day of harvesting
43:35and do not exceed the bounds
43:38verily he loves not those who exceed the bounds
43:43he it is who created some of the cattle for carrying burdens
43:47and some like sheep and goat
43:49are too low to carry burdens but fit for slaughter
43:53eat of what Allah has provided for you
43:56and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan
43:59for he is indeed an enemy disuniting you from Allah
44:04and of cattle slaughtered for food
44:07he has created eight heads in four pairs
44:10the pair of sheep
44:12the pair of goats
44:15say
44:15is it the two males he has made unlawful
44:18or the two females
44:21or is it that young which the wombs of the two females contain
44:24which he has forbidden
44:26expound to me the case with sure knowledge
44:28if you are in the right
44:31and he created the pair of camels and the pair of cows
44:35say
44:36is it the two males that he has made unlawful
44:39or the two females
44:41or is it that which the wombs of the two females contain
44:44which he has forbidden
44:46or were you present when Allah enjoined this unlawfulness and lawfulness on you
44:51who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah deliberately
44:57that he may lead the people astray without having any knowledge
45:01verily Allah does not guide the unjust people
45:07say
45:08I find nothing in what Allah has revealed to me
45:11that forbids the people to eat anything except it be that which dies of itself
45:16or blood poured forth
45:18or flesh of swine
45:20for all this is unclean
45:23or I find that thing forbidden what is profane
45:26which has been sacrificed in other than Allah's name
45:30yet he who is constrained to eat any of them
45:33having no desire for that
45:35and having no intention to exceed the limit
45:38will find that surely your Lord is great protector
45:42ever merciful
45:44and as for those who Judaized
45:47we forbade them every animal having claws
45:51we forbade them the fat of the oxen
45:53and that of the goats and of the sheep
45:57except that fat which their backs or entrails bear
46:00or which cleaves to a bone
46:02that is how we punish them for their transgression
46:05and we are always true to our words
46:10and if they cry lies to you
46:12then say to them
46:13your Lord is the Lord of all embracing mercy
46:17but his punishment cannot be averted from the guilty people
46:22now those who associate partners with Allah say
46:25if Allah had so willed
46:27we would not have associated partners with him
46:31nor would have our forefathers
46:33nor would we have made anything unlawful of our own
46:37just as they deny you their predecessors cried lies to their apostles of God
46:43until they suffered our punishment
46:45say
46:46have you any knowledge about it
46:49then present it before us
46:52you follow not but mere conjectures
46:55and you do nothing but tell lies
46:58say
46:59then with Allah is the conclusive argument
47:03had he enforced his will
47:04he would have surely guided you all
47:07say
47:09bring your witnesses who can testify
47:11that Allah has forbidden the thing you forbid yourselves
47:15then supposing they testify this
47:18do not bear them out
47:20nor follow the caprice of those who treat our messages as lies
47:24and who do not believe in the hereafter
47:27and who set up equals to their Lord
47:30say
47:31come I will rehearse to you what your Lord has made binding on you
47:36it is that you shall associate not anything as partner with him
47:40and that you shall be good to parents
47:43and that you waste not your children because of poverty
47:46it is we who make provisions for you as well as for them too
47:51Allah has also enjoined upon you
47:53that you approach not indecencies
47:56whether open or hidden
47:58and that you kill no soul which Allah has made sacred
48:02except in the cause of justice
48:04this has he enjoined you with
48:06so that you may learn to abstain from evil
48:10and he has enjoined you
48:12that you do not approach the property of an orphan
48:15except in the fairest manner
48:18until he attains his maturity
48:21and give full measure and weight with equity
48:23we charge no soul except to its capacity
48:28and that when you speak
48:29giving your verdict
48:30observe justice even though the person concerned
48:34be a relative of yours
48:35and fulfill the covenant you made with Allah
48:39that is what he enjoins upon you
48:42so that you may take heed
48:45and the Lord says
48:46this is my exact right path
48:49so follow it
48:52and follow not diverse ways
48:54lest they should deviate you away from his straight way
48:58that is what he enjoined you with
49:00that you may guard against evil
49:03and behold
49:05we gave moses the scripture to complete our favors upon him
49:09who did good to others and is righteous
49:11and to explain everything worth explaining
49:15and as a guidance and a mercy
49:17so that the people may believe in that they will meet their lord
49:22and similarly
49:23this is a glorious book
49:25which we have revealed full of blessings
49:28so follow it and guard against evil
49:31that you may be shown mercy
49:34we have revealed this blessed book
49:36lest you should say
49:38the book has only been revealed to two communities
49:41the Jews and the Christians before us
49:43and as for us
49:45we remained unaware of what those books read
49:49or lest you should say
49:51had the book been revealed to us
49:53we would surely have been better guided than they
49:57now there has certainly come to you from your Lord
50:00in the form of the Quran
50:01a clear evidence
50:03an excellent guidance
50:04and a great mercy
50:07who then is more unjust
50:09than he who cries lies to the revelations of Allah
50:12and turns away from them
50:14we will certainly award those who turn away from our revelations
50:18an awful punishment
50:20because of their having turned away
50:24do they await only that the angels should come to them with wars
50:28or that complete destruction from your Lord should come upon them
50:32or that some of the signs of your Lord should visit them with earthly calamity
50:37the day when some of the signs of your Lord shall come
50:41no soul that did not believe earlier or accomplished some good deeds through his belief
50:48will ever benefit by his faith
50:50say wait
50:53we too are waiting
50:56verily those who have caused a split in their religion
50:59and became divided into sex
51:02you have no concern whatsoever with them
51:06their case will come before Allah
51:07then he will judge it and will fully inform them of what they have been doing
51:13whosoever does good
51:15shall be repaid tenfold
51:18but he who commits evil
51:20shall be recompensed only in proportion to the evil done
51:24and they shall not be dealt with unjustly
51:28say
51:29as for me
51:31surely my Lord has guided me to the exact straight path
51:35the ever true faith
51:37the creed of Abraham the upright
51:39and he was not of the polytheist
51:42say
51:43surely my prayer and my sacrifice
51:46and my living and my dying
51:48are all for the sake of Allah
51:51the Lord of the worlds
51:52no associate partner has he
51:55and so am I ordained
51:58and I am the first of the submitting ones to Allah
52:02say
52:03shall I seek a Lord other than Allah
52:06whilst he is the Lord of all things
52:09and no soul does anything evil
52:12but only against itself
52:14no soul that bears a burden
52:17shall bear the burden of another
52:18than two years
