00:14i call to witness the perfect quran full of convincing proofs and wisdom that you are
00:24indeed one of the messengers standing on the right and straight path this quran is a great
00:32revelation sent by the almighty and the ever merciful god so that you may warn the people
00:39who are ignorant because their forefathers have not been warned for a long time
00:45surely most of them merit the sentence of our punishment for they would not believe
00:53surely we have put shackles of customs and prejudices round their necks and they are
01:00reaching right up to their chins so that they have become stiff-necked due to their pride and
01:06false notions of superiority and we have placed barriers of their stubbornness rendering them
01:14unable to look forward to the bright future of islam and rise to eminence by accepting it
01:20in front of them and barriers of their prejudices behind them thus rendering them unable to look
01:28back at the doom of those who rejected the truth in the past thus we have kept them behind the
01:35veil
01:35so that they cannot see so have become totally devoid of spiritual light and it is all the same to
01:44them whether you warn them or do not warn them they will not believe for they have deliberately
01:50shut their eyes and ears to the truth you can warn only those who would follow the reminder
01:58the Qur'an and are full of reverential awe of the most gracious God in the heart of their hearts
02:07therefore proclaim to them the glad tidings of protection from the evil consequences of sins and an honorable provision from
02:17us
02:18surely it is we alone who raise the dead to life and we shall preserve their noble deeds
02:26which they send forward and their prints of virtue and knowledge which they leave behind for others to emulate
02:34everything we have comprehensively preserved in a clear record
02:40and set forth to them for their good a parable of a people of the town when the messengers of
02:48God came to them
02:49at first we sent to them two messengers Moses and Jesus but they cried lies to them
02:57then we strengthened our apostles with a third the prophet Muhammad by fulfilling in his person their prophecies about his
03:07advent
03:07so they said as a general message to the people we have been sent to you as messengers by God
03:16they the contemporaries of the messengers gave a general reply you are only human beings like ourselves
03:25the most gracious God has revealed nothing to you you are simply telling lies
03:33they said our Lord knows that we have been of course sent to you and our duty is only to
03:41convey the message in clear terms
03:45they the people of the town said
03:48we augur ill from you for we were seized with one calamity or the other after your advent
03:55if you do not give it your preaching over we will certainly excommunicate you and a painful punishment shall befall
04:05you at our hands
04:08they said
04:09your ills are of your own making
04:12do you say all this because you have been admonished
04:16nay
04:17but the real thing is you are a pack of transgressors
04:22now there came a man running from the farthest end of the town
04:26he said
04:28oh my people
04:29follow the messengers
04:32follow those who ask no reward from you and who are following the right path
04:39what reason have I not to worship him who has created me
04:43and to whom you all shall be brought back
04:47shall I take apart from him others as gods whose intercession
04:53if the most gracious God should decide to do me some harm
04:57will be of no avail to me
05:00nor will they be able even to rescue me from that harm
05:05surely
05:05in case I do anything of the kind
05:08I should be falling into a clear error
05:12I have believed in your true Lord
05:14therefore listen to me
05:17it was said to him by God
05:20enter the paradise while you are still living
05:23he said
05:24oh would that my people knew
05:27for what reason has my Lord granted me protection from pitfalls in this life
05:32and included me among the honored servants of his
05:37we sent no contingent of force from heaven
05:40against his people to destroy them
05:42after that he has believed
05:45nor do we ever command any of such things
05:50it was just a single blast
05:52and behold
05:54they were all extinct like a spark of fire extinguished
05:59alas for my servants
06:01not a single messenger comes to reform them
06:04but they treat him lightly
06:07have they not seen how many generations we have ruined before them
06:12and that those generations never come back to them after their ruination
06:18indeed
06:19they
06:20one and all
06:22shall most certainly be brought before us
06:27the dead earth which we bring to life
06:30and from which we bring forth a large variety of grains
06:34of which they eat
06:36is an important sign for them
06:39and we have made to grow thereon the earth
06:43gardens of date palms and vine
06:46and we have caused springs to gush forth from it
06:51so that they may enjoy its fruit
06:54and enjoy that which their hands have worked for
06:57will they then render us no thanks
07:01and follow our guidance
07:04glory be to him who has created pairs of all type
07:08of the thing that the earth grows
07:10and of their own species
07:12and of the things yet unknown to them
07:16the night from which we strip off the last vestige of the day
07:20so that afterwards
07:22they are left in pitch darkness
07:24is a great sign for them
07:28and the sun is moving
07:30on its ordained course
07:33towards the goal determined for it
07:35that is the determining of the almighty
07:39the possessor of perfect knowledge
07:43and think over the phases of the moon
07:46we have determined its various mansions
07:50so that after traversing these mansions
07:54it returns to the stage when it appears like an old dry twig of a palm tree
08:01it is not given to the sun to attain to the purpose ordained for the moon
08:06nor is it given to the night to outstrip the day
08:10all of these luminaries go on floating smoothly in an orbit of their own
08:17and it is a sign for these people
08:20that we carry their children in the fully laden ships
08:25and we will make for them other means of transport
08:29such things as they will board
08:32if we so willed
08:34we would drown them
08:35then they would have no one to succour them
08:39nor would they be rescued
08:43it is only through mercy from us that we save them
08:46and let them have an enjoyment of worldly gains for a while
08:51and when it is said to them
08:53guard yourself against that punishment
08:56which is impending before you
08:58and that which is behind you
09:01and may befall you as a consequence of your evil past
09:05so that you may be shown mercy
09:07they turn away
09:10there never comes to them a message from the messages of their lord
09:15but they always turn away from it
09:19and when it is said to them
09:20spend out of that which Allah has provided for you
09:24those who disbelieve say to those who believe
09:27shall we feed those whom if Allah so will
09:31he could feed
09:33you are only steeped in obvious error
09:38they also say
09:39tell us if indeed you are truthful
09:42when this warning about punishment shall come to pass
09:47they are thus only waiting for one sudden onslaught of calamity
09:52which will overtake them while they are yet disputing about it
09:56among themselves
09:58and so sudden will be their end
10:01that they will not be able to leave instructions about their affairs
10:06nor to their own people will they return
10:11and the trumpet shall be blown
10:13and behold
10:15rising from their graves
10:17they will hasten on to their lord
10:20they will say to one another
10:23oh woe be on us
10:26who has aroused us from our sleeping place
10:31this is the same thing as the most gracious God had promised
10:35and the messengers of God did indeed speak the truth
10:39will be the reply they receive
10:42it will only be a single blast
10:45and behold
10:46they shall all be brought before us
10:51so on this day
10:53no injustice whatsoever shall be done to any soul
10:57you shall reap the fruit of your deeds
11:01on this day
11:03the owners of paradise
11:05will be occupied in their pursuits
11:08rejoicing
11:09they and their companions will be in pleasant shades
11:14reclining on raised couches
11:18therein they shall have fruits
11:20and they will have all that they ask for
11:22peace be upon you
11:24shall be the word of greeting to them
11:26from the ever merciful Lord
11:29and it will be said to the sinners
11:31oh guilty ones
11:34remain apart
11:36as distinguished from the righteous
11:38this day
11:40oh children of Adam
11:42did I not enjoin on you
11:44never to worship Satan
11:46for he is to you
11:47an enemy severing your ties with me
11:50and did I not charge you to worship me
11:53for this is the straight and right path
11:58yet he
11:59Satan
12:00has certainly led astray
12:02a number of people from among you
12:05why do you not even then make use of your understanding
12:09so as to rectify your error
12:13this is the jehenna you were warned against
12:17enter it this day
12:19because of your disbelief
12:23on that day
12:24we shall seal the mouths of these disbelievers
12:28their hands will speak to us about the actions they wrought
12:33and their feet
12:34shall bear witness
12:35to all their sinful doings
12:38if we had so willed
12:40we could certainly have deprived
12:43these disbelievers
12:44of their eyesight
12:45so that they would have gone ahead
12:47on their path
12:48unseeing
12:49but how should they find the path
12:52now
12:53in this state of their blindness
12:56if we had so willed
12:58we could have
12:59certainly destroyed them
13:01where they were
13:02so that they would not
13:04be able to move forward
13:05nor turn back
13:08we reverse the mechanism
13:09of the person
13:10to whom we grant
13:11extraordinary long life
13:13by making the state
13:14of his constitution
13:16weak
13:16do they not even then
13:19make use of their understanding
13:22we have not taught him
13:24the prophet Mohammed
13:26the art of composing verses
13:29nor does it become him
13:31to be a poet
13:32this Quran
13:34is but a means
13:35to attain to eminence
13:37a book
13:39that is widely read
13:40and tells the right
13:42from the wrong
13:44it has been revealed
13:46so that he
13:48the prophet
13:49may warn those
13:50who are still somewhat
13:52spiritually alive
13:53and so capable
13:54of receiving
13:55and responding
13:56to the call of truth
13:57and that the verdict
13:59of condemnation
14:01be justified
14:02against the disbelievers
14:05do they not see
14:06that among the things
14:08that we have made
14:09with our power
14:10are the cattle
14:11which we have created
14:12for them
14:13and of which
14:14they are masters now
14:15and we have subdued
14:18these cattle
14:18for their use
14:20and benefit
14:21so that some of them
14:23serve as their
14:24riding beast
14:25and through others
14:26they obtain
14:27their food
14:28they have many
14:30other uses in them
14:31they provide them
14:32with drinks
14:33of various kinds
14:34will they still
14:36give us
14:37no thanks
14:38in spite of all this
14:40they worship
14:42other gods
14:42apart from Allah
14:44falsely
14:45that they may find
14:46some help
14:47through them
14:49these false gods
14:50are not capable
14:51of helping them
14:52on the contrary
14:54these gods
14:55will turn out
14:56for them
14:57to be a host
14:58of rebels
14:59brought before
15:00the almighty
15:01to receive
15:01their due punishment
15:04and do not
15:05let their words
15:06cause you grief
15:08verily
15:08we know
15:10what they conceal
15:11and what they profess
15:13and they will be
15:14paid back
15:15in their own coins
15:18has not a human
15:20being seen
15:21how we have
15:22created him
15:22out of a
15:23very insignificant
15:25sperm drop
15:26yet behold
15:28he is an open
15:30adversary to us
15:32and he coins
15:34strange things
15:35about us
15:36and forgets
15:36his own creation
15:38he says
15:39who will quicken
15:41the dead bones
15:41to life
15:42when they are
15:43decayed
15:44say
15:45he who evolved
15:47them the first
15:47time
15:48will again
15:49raise them
15:50to life
15:50he is fully
15:52conversant
15:53with all types
15:54and methods
15:55of creation
15:56it is
15:57he who
15:58produces
15:59fire for you
16:00out of the
16:01green tree
16:02that you
16:03kindle another
16:04fire from it
16:05even so
16:07new faith
16:08is kindled
16:09when the
16:09spiritually weak
16:10come in contact
16:11with the divine
16:12reformer
16:14has he
16:15who has
16:15created the
16:16heavens and
16:17the earth
16:17not the
16:18power of
16:19creating other
16:20people like
16:21them
16:21why not
16:22he is the
16:24supreme creator
16:25and possessor
16:26of all
16:26knowledge
16:28verily his
16:29command
16:30when he
16:31intends to
16:32evolve a
16:32thing
16:32is only that
16:34he says to
16:35it
16:35be
16:36and it
16:37comes into
16:38being at
16:38proper time
16:41therefore
16:41glory be
16:42to him
16:43in whose
16:44hand lies
16:45the perfect
16:45control
16:46of everything
16:47and towards
16:48whom you
16:49shall be
16:50made to
16:50return
16:51and
16:51and
16:51to
16:51move
16:53to
16:53another
16:53turn
16:53and
16:53on
