00:00al-araf the elevated places with the name of allah the most gracious the ever-merciful alif lam meem sawd

00:13i am allah the best knower the most truthful

00:19this quran is a glorious book revealed to you that you may warn the erring therewith and that it may

00:26be a source of eminence and honor to the believers let there be no constriction in your mind on this

00:32account

00:34people follow the message which has been revealed to you by your lord and follow no patrons as you assume

00:41them to be apart from allah how little heed you pay to admonition

00:48so many a rebellious township have we caused to be ruined so our punishment visited them by night or while

00:56they were taking their midday rest

00:59so that their cry meant nothing when our punishment came upon them except that they apologizingly said truly we were

01:08wrongdoing people

01:10we will then invariably question those to whom the messages were sent and we will certainly question also the messengers

01:20we will certainly relate to them true facts with exact details having full knowledge of them for we were never

01:28absent from them when it came to pass

01:31on that day the weighing the judging of deeds will be just and true then he whose scales of good

01:41deeds are heavy it is these only who shall attain their goal

01:46and those whose scales are light and their deeds of little account it is they who have made their souls

01:53suffer losses because they have been unjust with regard to our messages

01:57people we have indeed established you in the earth giving you power therein and provided for you therein various means

02:07of subsistence

02:08how little thanks you give

02:11we did determine you

02:13then we gave you shape

02:15then said to the angels

02:17make submission to Adam

02:19so they all submitted

02:22but Iblis did not

02:24he would not be of those who submit

02:27God said

02:29what prevented you from submitting

02:31when I commanded you to submit

02:34Iblis said

02:35I am better than he

02:38you created me from fire

02:40whereas you created him from clay

02:44God said

02:45get down from this haughty state

02:48for it is not proper for you to behave proudly here

02:52so be gone

02:53God said

02:54surely you are of those who have agreed to remain in an abject position

03:00he

03:00Iblis in impertinent defiance said

03:04grant me respite till the day when they are raised up again

03:09God said

03:10surely you are of those already given respite

03:16Iblis said

03:18Iblis said

03:19now since you have adjudged me to be perverted and lost

03:22I will assuredly lie in wait for them on the straight and exact path that leads to you

03:29there will I come upon them from their front and from their backs

03:33and from their right and from their left

03:36so that you will not find most of them grateful to you

03:40God said

03:41get out from this state

03:43despised and driven away

03:45be sure

03:47whosoever of these human beings follows you

03:50I will certainly fill Jehenna with you all

03:54and we said

03:56O Adam

03:57dwell you and your wife in this garden

04:00then eat when and where you like

04:03but do not even approach this tree

04:06or you both will become of the transgressors

04:09then Satan made an evil suggestion to them both

04:12with the result that their shortcomings

04:15which were hidden from them

04:16became manifest to them

04:18and he said

04:19your Lord forbade you from this tree

04:22only lest you should become angels

04:25or become of the immortals

04:27and he ardently swore to them both saying

04:31most certainly I am one of your sincere advisors

04:36thus he led them on the way of guile and deceit

04:40and when they tasted of the tree

04:42and committed the things forbidden to them

04:45their shortcomings became manifest to them

04:47they in order to cover themselves

04:50began to stick the leaves of the garden over themselves

04:54and their Lord called out to them both saying

04:57did I not forbid you from approaching that tree

05:00and tell you that Satan is to you an enemy disuniting

05:06both of them said

05:07our Lord

05:08we have done injustice to our souls

05:11and if you do not protect us

05:13against the consequences of our faults

05:16and do not have mercy on us

05:18we shall surely be of the losers

05:21God said

05:22get down from this land

05:24some of you are indeed enemies of others

05:27and there will be for you on this earth

05:30a habitation and enjoyment of provision for a while

05:35and he added

05:36in this very universe

05:38you shall live

05:39and therein you shall die

05:41and from it you shall be brought forth

05:44in the hereafter

05:47O children of Adam

05:48we have given you a raiment

05:51that covers your nakedness

05:53and is a source of your elegance

05:56and protection

05:57yet the raiment that guards against evils

06:00that is the best of robes

06:04that is one of the commandments of Allah

06:06so that they may attain eminence

06:10O children of Adam

06:12do not let Satan put you in trouble

06:15in the same way as he turned your parents

06:17out of the garden

06:18stripping them of their raiment of innocence

06:21with the result that their shortcomings

06:23were made manifest to them both

06:26verily he sees you

06:28he and his tribe

06:30in such a way as you see them not

06:33verily we have made Satan's

06:35friends of those who do not believe

06:39and when they

06:40the disbelievers

06:41commit an act of indecency

06:43they say

06:43we found our forefathers practicing on it

06:46and it is Allah

06:48who has enjoined it upon us

06:49say

06:50surely Allah never enjoins indecencies

06:54do you attribute to Allah

06:56what you do not know

06:59say

07:00my Lord has ordained

07:02to be equitable

07:03and to keep your attention

07:05upright towards him

07:07always in your every prayer

07:09and to call upon him exclusively

07:12bearing true faith in him

07:14as he brought you into being

07:16in the first instance

07:17so shall you return to him again

07:21there is a party whom he has guided aright

07:24but there is another party

07:26straying has become an established fact with them

07:29verily they have taken the evil ones for friends

07:32to the exclusion of Allah

07:34yet they deem they are rightly guided

07:38O children of Adam

07:40look to your elegance

07:42by dressing properly

07:43at every time and place of worship

07:45and eat and drink

07:47but exceed not the bounds

07:49for he does not love those

07:51who exceed the bounds

07:54say

07:55who has made unlawful

07:57Allah's beautiful things of adornment

07:59and elegance

08:00which he has produced for his servants

08:03and the delicious and pure things

08:05of his providing

08:06say

08:07they are primarily meant

08:09for the believers

08:10and for the disbelievers too

08:12in this present life

08:13but exclusively for the believers

08:16on the day of resurrection

08:18in this way

08:19do we explain the messages

08:21for a people who would know

08:23say

08:25verily my lord has forbidden

08:27all acts of indecency

08:29open and hidden

08:30and every kind of sin

08:32and aggression

08:33which is never justifiable

08:35and he forbids you also

08:38to associate with Allah

08:39that for which he has sent down

08:42no authority

08:43and to say concerning Allah

08:45that which you do not know

08:47that it is in fact said by him

08:50for the end of every nation

08:53there is a term fixed

08:55so that when their term comes

08:57they cannot delay a single moment

09:00to avoid it

09:01nor can they get ahead of it

09:03to escape from it

09:05O children of Adam

09:07whenever there come to you

09:09messengers from amongst yourselves

09:11relating to you my messages

09:13then whosoever by accepting them

09:16becomes secure against evil

09:18and amends

09:19there shall remain no fear on them

09:21nor shall they grieve

09:23but those who cry lies

09:26to our messages

09:26and turn away from them

09:28disdainfully

09:29it is they who are the fellows

09:31of the fire

09:32where they shall abide

09:34till long

09:36who is more unjust

09:38than he who forges a lie

09:40in the name of Allah

09:41or cries lies

09:43to his messages

09:45it is these

09:46who shall continue

09:47to have their lot

09:48of the book

09:48as ordained by Allah

09:50until there comes the time

09:52when our messengers

09:53the angels

09:53come to them

09:54to take away their souls

09:56they the angels

09:57will say

09:58where is now that

10:00which you used to call upon

10:01besides Allah

10:02they will reply

10:04they are lost to us

10:07and they will bear witness

10:08against themselves

10:10that they were disbelievers

10:12he God will say

10:14enter into the fire

10:16along with the communities

10:17that have passed away

10:18before you

10:19from among the jinns

10:21and ordinary people

10:23every time a new community

10:25enters it

10:26it curses its sister

10:28evil doing community

10:29until when they have

10:31all followed one another

10:32into it

10:33the last of them

10:34will say with regard

10:35to the first of them

10:36our Lord

10:38these led us astray

10:40so give them punishment

10:42of the fire

10:43over and over again

10:44he will say

10:47everyone is having

10:48his punishment

10:49over and over again

10:51but you do not know

10:53about one another

10:55and the first of them

10:56their leaders

10:57will say to the last of them

10:59the followers

11:00if we are to blame

11:02you too are no better

11:04than we

11:05suffer therefore

11:06the punishment

11:07of your evil deeds

11:09be sure

11:10those who cry lies

11:12to our messages

11:13and turn away

11:14from them disdainfully

11:15the gates

11:17of the spiritual firmament

11:18shall not be opened

11:20for them

11:20nor shall they

11:21enter paradise

11:22until a camel

11:24passes through

11:25the eye of a needle

11:26in this way

11:27do we award punishment

11:29to those who

11:30cut their ties

11:31with Allah

11:32they shall have

11:33jehenna

11:34for their bed

11:35and above them

11:36awnings of fire

11:37for cover

11:38and thus

11:39do we

11:39requit the wrongdoers

11:42as for those

11:43who believe

11:44and do deeds

11:45of righteousness

11:45we charge

11:47no soul

11:48except according

11:49to its capacity

11:50it is these

11:52who are the

11:52rightful owners

11:53of paradise

11:54where they shall

11:55abide forever

11:58we shall strip

11:59their hearts

12:00of whatever

12:01rancor

12:01there may be

12:02for others

12:03they shall have

12:05streams rolling

12:06at their feet

12:07and they shall

12:08say

12:08all perfect

12:10and true praise

12:11belongs to

12:11Allah

12:12who guided us

12:13to attain

12:14to this paradise

12:15we could never

12:16have been led

12:17a right

12:18to this

12:19if Allah

12:19had not guided us

12:22the messengers

12:23of our Lord

12:23did come to us

12:24with the truth

12:25it will be

12:26proclaimed to them

12:28this is the

12:29very paradise

12:30which you are

12:30made to inherit

12:31as a reward

12:33of your good deeds

12:36the owners

12:37of paradise

12:37will call out

12:38to the fellows

12:39of the fire

12:40we have found

12:41what our Lord

12:42has promised

12:43to be true

12:44have you too

12:45found what

12:46your Lord

12:46had promised

12:47to you

12:47to be true

12:49they will say

12:50yes

12:52then a herald

12:54will proclaim

12:54amongst them

12:56let the disapproval

12:57of Allah

12:58be on these

12:59wrongdoers

13:01who hinder

13:02the people

13:02from Allah's way

13:03and seek

13:04to make it

13:05look as crooked

13:06and who are

13:07disbelievers

13:08in the hereafter

13:10and between

13:11the two

13:11the fire

13:13and the paradise

13:14is a barrier

13:15and on the

13:17elevated places

13:18there shall be

13:19men like the

13:19prophets

13:20and other

13:21exalted

13:21spiritual dignitaries

13:23who will recognize

13:24everyone

13:25by his appearance

13:26and they shall

13:27call out

13:28to the prospective

13:29inmates

13:29of paradise

13:30peace be on you

13:31these prospective

13:33inmates of paradise

13:34will not have yet

13:36entered therein

13:37though they will be

13:38hoping for this entry

13:40and when their eyes

13:42are turned

13:43towards the fellows

13:44of the fire

13:44they will say

13:45our Lord

13:46place us not

13:48with these wrongdoing

13:49people

13:51the occupants

13:52of the elevated

13:53places will call out

13:54to certain men

13:55from the fellows

13:56of the fire

13:56whom they will recognize

13:58by their appearance

13:59behold

14:00neither your multitude

14:02nor that amassing

14:04in which you took

14:05pride

14:05have been of any

14:07avail to you

14:08are these

14:10owners of paradise

14:11the ones

14:12about whom

14:13you swore

14:13that Allah

14:14would not

14:15extend

14:15his mercy

14:16to them

14:16Allah has

14:18ordered them

14:18enter paradise

14:21no fear

14:22shall remain

14:22on you

14:23nor ever

14:24shall you

14:24grieve

14:26now the fellows

14:27of the fire

14:28will call out

14:29to the owners

14:29of paradise

14:30pour down upon us

14:32some water

14:32or give us

14:34some of that

14:34which Allah

14:35has provided

14:36for you

14:37they will say

14:38Allah

14:40has forbidden

14:41them both

14:41to the disbelievers

14:43those who took

14:45their faith

14:45for a futile

14:46and frivolous

14:47thing

14:47causing diversion

14:49from Allah

14:49they were beguiled

14:51by the worldly

14:52life

14:52and God

14:53will say

14:54so on this

14:56day

14:56we shall

14:57forsake

14:57them

14:57as they

14:58forsook

14:59the idea

14:59of meeting

15:00of this

15:00day of theirs

15:01and as they

15:02denied

15:03our messages

15:04deliberately

15:06although we

15:07had brought

15:07them a book

15:08which we had

15:09made clear

15:09with knowledge

15:10as a guidance

15:12and as a mercy

15:13for a people

15:14who believe

15:16do these

15:17disbelievers

15:18just await

15:19the final sequel

15:20of the warning

15:21thereof

15:21the day

15:23its final sequel

15:24comes

15:25those who had

15:26forsaken it

15:26before in this

15:27life would say

15:28the messengers

15:30of our Lord

15:31did indeed

15:31come with the truth

15:33have we now

15:34any intercessors

15:35so that they

15:37may intercede

15:37for us

15:38or could we

15:40be sent

15:41back

15:41so that we

15:42might act

15:43otherwise

15:44than we used

15:44to act

15:45they have

15:46indeed ruined

15:47their souls

15:48and that

15:49which they

15:50used to forge

15:51has failed

15:52them

15:53as a matter

15:54of fact

15:55your Lord

15:56is Allah

15:57who created

15:58the heavens

15:58and the earth

15:59in six eons

16:01and at the same

16:02time

16:03he is well

16:04established

16:04on the throne

16:05of authority

16:06he covers

16:08the night

16:08with the day

16:09which follows

16:10the night

16:10incessantly

16:11and he created

16:12the sun

16:13and the moon

16:14and the stars

16:16all subservient

16:17to humankind

16:18by his command

16:19beware

16:21his is all

16:22the creation

16:23and the command

16:25blessed be

16:26Allah

16:27Lord of the

16:28worlds

16:30call upon

16:31your Lord

16:31with humility

16:32and open

16:33supplication

16:34in fact

16:35he does not

16:36love the

16:36transgressors

16:37and do not

16:39create disorder

16:40in the land

16:40after the fair

16:42ordering thereof

16:43and call on him

16:44with fear

16:45of his displeasure

16:46and with hope

16:47of his mercy

16:48surely the mercy

16:50of Allah

16:50is always close

16:51to the doers

16:52of good

16:53to others

16:54he it is

16:55who sends

16:56the winds

16:56as good tidings

16:58heralding his mercy

16:59till when they

17:01those winds

17:02bear heavy clouds

17:03find them light

17:05we drive the clouds

17:06to a dead land

17:07then we make it rain

17:10then we bring forth

17:11from the dead land

17:13by means of that

17:14all manner of fruit

17:16that is how

17:17we will bring forth

17:18the dead

17:19so that you may achieve

17:20eminence

17:20and honor

17:22and as for

17:23the fertile land

17:24its vegetation

17:26comes forth

17:26flourishing

17:28and well

17:28by the leave

17:29of its lord

17:30and that land

17:31which is inferior

17:32its herbage

17:33comes forth

17:34but scantily

17:35and that too

17:36defective

17:36that is how

17:38we expound

17:39our messages

17:39in diverse ways

17:40for a people

17:41who give thanks

17:43we sent Noah

17:45to his people

17:46and he said

17:47oh my people

17:48worship Allah

17:50there is no one

17:51worthy of worship

17:52for you

17:53other than he

17:54surely I fear

17:56lest there should

17:57befall you

17:57the punishment

17:58of an awful day

18:01the chiefs

18:02of his people

18:03said

18:03surely we see you

18:05steeped in evident error

18:07he said

18:08oh my people

18:10I am in no error

18:12nor am I lost

18:14rather I am a messenger

18:16from the lord

18:17of the worlds

18:19I deliver to you

18:20the messages

18:21of my lord

18:22and I advise you

18:23sincerely

18:24for I know

18:25from Allah

18:26what you do not

18:27know

18:29well does it

18:30make you wonder

18:31that an exhortation

18:32leading to

18:33eminence

18:34and honor

18:34has come to you

18:36from your lord

18:37through a man

18:37among you

18:38so that he may

18:39warn you

18:40and so that you

18:41may become secure

18:42against evil

18:43and that you

18:44may be shown

18:44mercy

18:46but they

18:47to whom

18:47he delivered

18:48his messages

18:49cried lies

18:50to him

18:50so we rescued

18:52him and those

18:53with him

18:53in the ark

18:54from the deluge

18:55and we drowned

18:56those who cried

18:57lies to our

18:58messages

18:59they were certainly

19:00a spiritually

19:01blind people

19:04and to Ad

19:06we sent

19:07their brother

19:07Hud

19:08he said

19:10oh my people

19:11worship Allah

19:13you have

19:14no deity

19:15other than

19:16he

19:16will you

19:17not then

19:18guard

19:19against evil

19:21the unbelieving

19:22chiefs of his

19:23people said

19:23we surely

19:24see you

19:25in folly

19:26and in fact

19:27we deem you

19:28one of the

19:28liars

19:30he said

19:31oh my people

19:32there is

19:34no foolishness

19:35in me

19:35on the contrary

19:37I am a messenger

19:38from the lord

19:39of the worlds

19:41I deliver to you

19:42the messages

19:43of my lord

19:44and I am to you

19:45a counselor

19:46sincere

19:47and trustworthy

19:50do you wonder

19:51that an exhortation

19:52leading to

19:53eminence

19:54and honor

19:54should come

19:55to you

19:56from your lord

19:56through a man

19:57from among you

19:58so that he may

20:00warn you

20:00remember his favor

20:02when he made you

20:03the rulers

20:04after the people

20:05of Noah

20:06and increased you

20:07vastly

20:08in respect

20:09of your bodily

20:10constitution

20:10by making you

20:12stout

20:12and strong

20:13and tall

20:14remember then

20:15the favors

20:16of Allah

20:17so that you

20:17may attain

20:18the goal

20:19they said

20:21have you

20:22come to us

20:23that we

20:24may worship

20:25Allah alone

20:26and renounce

20:27that which

20:28our fathers

20:28worshipped

20:29bring down

20:30on us

20:31the punishment

20:31you threaten

20:32us with

20:32if you are

20:33of the truthful

20:36he said

20:37there has

20:38already

20:39fallen

20:39upon you

20:40the punishment

20:40and the

20:41displeasure

20:42from your lord

20:42would you

20:44dispute with me

20:45regarding mere

20:46names of your

20:47false gods

20:48which you have

20:48coined

20:49you and your

20:50fathers

20:50names in support

20:52of which Allah

20:52has sent down

20:53no authority

20:55if so

20:56then wait

20:57for the consequences

20:58I too

21:00am with you

21:00among those

21:01who wait

21:03so we

21:04in our

21:05mercy

21:05saved him

21:07and his

21:07companions

21:08and we

21:09rooted out

21:09the last

21:10remnants

21:10of those

21:11who cried

21:12lies

21:12to our

21:13messages

21:13for they

21:14would not

21:15believe

21:16and to

21:18Thamud

21:18we sent

21:19their brother

21:20Sali

21:20he said

21:22oh my

21:23people

21:24worship

21:25Allah

21:25you have

21:27no other

21:27god

21:28but him

21:28a clear

21:30proof

21:30has already

21:31come to

21:31you from

21:32your lord

21:33here is

21:34a she

21:34camel

21:35let loose

21:36for the

21:36cause

21:37of Allah

21:37a sign

21:38for you

21:39let her

21:40alone

21:41to pasture

21:41in Allah's

21:42land

21:43and do

21:44her no

21:44harm

21:45or a

21:45woeful

21:46punishment

21:46shall

21:47overtake

21:47you

21:49and recall

21:50his favor

21:51when he

21:51made you

21:52the ruler

21:53after

21:53Ad

21:53and

21:54assigned

21:55you

21:55abode

21:56in the

21:57land

21:57after

21:58your

21:58sufferings

21:59you

22:00build

22:00castles

22:01in its

22:01plains

22:02and

22:02hewed

22:03houses

22:03out of

22:04the

22:04mountains

22:05remember

22:06therefore

22:07the

22:07favors

22:08of

22:08Allah

22:09do

22:09not

22:09commit

22:10mischief

22:10in the

22:11land

22:11acting

22:12as

22:12creators

22:13of

22:13disorder

22:15the

22:16chieftains

22:16of his

22:17people

22:17who

22:17considered

22:18themselves

22:18strong

22:19and

22:19great

22:19said

22:20to

22:20those

22:21who

22:21were

22:21reckoned

22:21weak

22:22to

22:22those

22:23of

22:23them

22:23who

22:23had

22:24believed

22:24are

22:25you

22:26sure

22:26that

22:27solly

22:27is

22:27one

22:28sent

22:28from

22:28his

22:28lord

22:30they

22:30replied

22:31surely

22:32we

22:32are

22:33believers

22:33in

22:34that

22:34message

22:34has

22:37those

22:37considered

22:38themselves

22:38great

22:39and

22:39strong

22:39said

22:40scornfully

22:41lo

22:41we

22:42disbelievers

22:46hamstrung

23:28recall

23:29when he

23:29to his

23:30people

23:31you

23:31commit

23:31such

23:32abomination

23:32of

23:33sodomy

23:33as is

23:34unprecedented

23:35and

23:35unsurpassed

23:36in the

23:37whole

23:37world

23:39you

23:39indeed

23:40approach

23:40men

23:41rather

23:42than

23:42your

23:42women

23:42to

23:43satisfy

23:43your

23:44lust

23:44the

23:45fact

23:46is

23:46that

23:46you

23:46are

23:46a

23:47people

23:47who

23:47transgress

23:48all

23:48limits

23:50his

23:51people

23:51had

23:51no

23:52reply

23:52to

23:53make

23:53but

23:54that

23:54they

23:54said

23:54to

23:55turn

23:58his

23:58followers
