Tamil Nadu has published its final electoral roll after a special intensive revision exercise, establishing 5.67 crore voters in the state ahead of upcoming polls. Over 70 lakh voters have been removed from the final list.

00:00Breaking news coming in from Tamil Nadu. After the special intensive revision exercise of the
00:05electoral rolls, the final electoral roll has been published and according to this 5.67 crore
00:14voters have been established in the state which is set to go to polls very soon. So it is finally
00:19out. Around 70 lakh voters, it seems, have been ousted from this final list that has been published.
00:275.67 crore total voters in this electoral roll. Joining us right now is India Today's Apoorva.
00:37Apoorva, tell us what are the important things that are jumping out of the publication which
00:42you are noticing? Well, in fact, what we are getting to learn is that there are over, you
00:49know, the numbers that have been given for each and every constituency has been significantly
00:56in fact, what we are getting to learn is that of the constituencies, 234 constituencies in
01:05across Tamil Nadu, what the chief election official have, in fact, told us is that the highest
01:11constituency with the most number of voters is Sholing and Alur constituencies here right
01:16from the outside of Chennai city with over 5,36,991 voters. Whereas the lowest voters in across
01:27Tamil Nadu is in fact in Chennai's own Harpur constituency where the total number of voters are
01:34around 1,16,896 voters. That's what we are also getting to learn. In fact, the CEO has also mentioned
01:43that there were over 70 lakh deletions that have taken place since the last time, you know,
01:49this exercise has been carried out. A lot of new, you know, findings that have come out from the SIR
01:56here. In fact, what we are getting to learn from, you know, the CEO here is that roughly over
02:05five, you know, five crore 67 lakh 7,380 voters have been registered for who will be going to vote
02:16in
02:17this upcoming Tamil Nadu 2022 elections. This is a huge number of voters here and these voters
02:23ultimately, those who do have claims or other theories as well, they are also welcome to go ahead
02:30and looking for suggestions or write to the CEO or any of their district election officers directly
02:37if there is any discrepancies in the voter list had their names not been added or anything else as such.
