00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03The week ahead is set to remain changeable but mild for all of us.
00:07So looking ahead at the pressure pattern, you can see low pressure really going to be
00:11close by throughout most of the week, bringing in some further spells of rain.
00:15But towards the middle of the week we will see winds briefly come in from the south and
00:19that will give us some very mild weather for the time of year.
00:22But heading towards the end of the week, winds begin to come back round to a westerly, that
00:26will allow temperatures to fall a couple of degrees at least, and also bring in some
00:31further spells of rain.
00:34Back to the here and now as we see out the weekend, got plenty of showers out there for
00:38Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England.
00:41Some of these showers will be potentially quite heavy, you could even hear the odd rumble of
00:45thunder.
00:45Further south, fewer showers here, it's here where we see the best of any clearer skies.
00:50There will be a brisk wind, especially towards the north and that will help keep things on
00:55the mild side and even in the south, probably not much lower than 5 to 7 degrees in any
01:00sheltered spots.
01:02So as we start Monday morning, plenty of showers again across the northern half of the country,
01:06but these will begin to ease as we head towards the afternoon.
01:10And that's all in response of this next band of rain which will gradually spread its way
01:13north eastwards.
01:15So come the afternoon, quite a wet spell of weather developing for Northern Ireland and parts
01:18of Wales.
01:19To the south of it, quite murky.
01:21Still some light rain and drizzle around and also some mist and hill fog.
01:25But to the north of it, actually, we'll see some drier and brighter weather for a time
01:29for Scotland and Northeastern England.
01:32And for all of us, it's going to be a mild one.
01:34Temperatures in the south easily reaching the low teens.
01:38Into the evening hours, the band of rain will continue to work its way north eastwards,
01:41turning quite heavy and persistent for a time for Western Scotland before it continues to move
01:46its way north eastwards.
01:47Behind it, plenty of cloud and still some light outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
01:52And with winds coming in from the south, it's going to help to give a very mild night for
01:56the time of year.
01:57Some places actually, these are the temperatures what we should be seeing during the day,
02:01with some parts of the south potentially not much lower than 10 to 11 degrees.
02:06So a great start on Tuesday.
02:09Still the overnight rain to clear across Shetland and Orkney.
02:12But for most of us, it should be generally drier.
02:15But still some light outbreaks of rain and drizzle around.
02:19Some rain also returning later on across the far west of Scotland.
02:23But down towards the southeast, we're starting to see some cloud breaks develop.
02:27And where they do happen, we will potentially see highs reaching around 14 or 15 degrees.
02:32And that will continue as we head into Wednesday.
02:35We could potentially see highs on Wednesday in the southeast reaching around 17 or 18 degrees.
02:40But you can find out more information about that on our social media channels.
02:43But from me for now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
