Police seized a large quantity of narcotics during an intelligence-led operation in Central Trinidad Friday afternoon.

One suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.

00:00Officers attached to the Central Division Gang and Intelligence Unit, working alongside the CID Operations Unit, acted on what police
00:07described as credible intelligence shortly after 2 p.m. today and carried out a major drug bust exercise in Felicity.
00:15This seized the major consignment of narcotics, which they believed had recently entered Trinidad from South America and had been
00:23offloaded at the Riverside Marina along Cackendie Road.
00:26When officers arrived at the marina, they observed a white Kia truck parked between two vessels.
00:33A search of the vehicle revealed several multicolored crocus bags tightly packed within the tray.
00:39Police said upon examination, the bag contained a quantity of marijuana believed to be high-grade Colombian cannabis, commonly known
00:47on the streets as creepy marijuana.
00:49One suspect has been detained in connection with the find.
00:52The total weight and estimated street value of the narcotics have yet to be determined.
00:59Investigations are ongoing as police continue efforts to identify and apprehend others who may be involved in the importation and
01:08the possession of the narcotics.
